"Turn right!" Will yelled over the arguing of Joyce and Bob, the group in the car as the darkness of the sky took over the orange color that flooded Hawkins.

"What?" Joyce looked back.

"I saw him." Will said seriously.

"Where?" Joyce began to look around.

"Not here. In my non-memories." Will gave a crazy look toward the front.

"In your what?" Bob looked back in shock by his words.

"Turn right!" Will yelled forward. Joyce jerked the car, Jude's body yanking to the side and head butting Mike rather heard.

"Ow! Why'd you do that?" Jude wacked Mike upside the head.

"It wasn't me!" he yelled back, the car bouncing as they went down the ditch and nearly ran over a sign. Joyce slammed on the breaks when she nearly crashed into Hoppers truck, making them all jerk forward before falling back against the seats.

"Jesus!" Jude yelled, a hand pressed to his heart. "You know i've got a weak stomach."

"Superspy." Mike breathed out, one hand holding Jude's wrist and the other on the back of the chair.

"Super sick." Jude corrected him, inhaling. "I'm good, i'm fine."

"What's Jim doing here? Joyce?" Bob looked in confusion at the truck infront of them, then looking at his girlfriend.

"Boys, I need you to stay here." Joyce spoke to the trio in the back.

"No. Mom, Mom, Mom, it's not safe." Will tried to protest as she got out of the car.

"That's why I need you to stay here!" Joyce said sternly back to them. "Stay here!"

"Yes ma'am." Jude said quickly with a nod.

Once Joyce and Bob disappeared down into the tunnels, the trio had gotten out of the car. The headlights shined behind them, watching, waiting for any sight of Joyce again. Jude's hand wrapped around Mikes arm when the sound of cars were heard, turning back. The headlights blinded him at first, blinking a few times and seeing the multiple vans. The same vans he saw his long lost friend flip not too long ago.

"That's can't be good." Jude commented. The people jumping out of the vans didn't even look at the teens, hurrying past them and toward the opening. Jude watched the blow torch weapon began to light the vines on fire.

Will gave a shriek of pain as he fell to the ground.

"Will!" Mike yelled in panic. The pair kneeled down next to him in worry.

"Will! Will, what's wrong?" Jude asked quickly, rolling him onto his back so he wasn't getting a mouthful of dirt. Wills body seemed to be seizing, pained noises leaving his lips. Harsh, long, and loud screams left the Byers boy, scaring both his friends.

Jude fell backwards, Mike backing up and yanking the Mackenzie boy to his feet as the attention of the soldiers had escaped the vines and were now focused on the wailing boy.

"Will!" Jude yelled as he was placed on the hospital bed, screaming still as the doctors tried to figure out what was wrong. Jude's lip trembled as he watched him, voice breaking. "Will!"

Mike grabbed his shoulders as they moved out of the doctors way. The paramedic listened to his heart. "Will, where does it hurt?"

"All over!" he yelled behind the oxygen mask.

"He says he feels like he's burning. Check for burns." the white haired doctor said quickly as Wills hospital gown was cut off, only revealing perfectly paled skin, no burns what so ever.

"Where does it hurt the most, Will?" The nurse looked down at him, yelling over his screams.

"Everywhere! Everywhere!" Will yelled. Jude's heart broke seeing him this way, like his pain was being transferred to his own. Joyce sobbed as Bob held her, the nurse injecting Will with a shot that knocked him out rather quickly. Jude turned his head, leaning against Mike as the Wheeler boy hugged him.

"Do you think he still feels it in his sleep?" Jude asked, his head on Mikes shoulder as they watched Will sleep.

"The doctors say he wouldn't." Mike shook his head. "I hope not."

"Me too." Jude agreed, too tired to even move, though his leg was going asleep the way it had been tucked under his other one. "I wish I could take away pain. Why can't Monks do that?"

Mike laughed slightly at his elected D&D character. "Too busy kicking everyone ass."

Jude cracked a grin. "Except when I broke my thumb that one time."

"Yeah, but you learned." Mike went on with his words, both speaking rather soft in hopes of not waking Will too soon. "You'll never break your thumb again."

"I probably will fight James and Troy again though." Jude smirked at the thought. "Especially when we go to high school next year."

"They're gonna be so much worse." Mike snorted slightly. "I'm sure they'll be other people you can beat up."

"Yeah, like the Baseball team." Jude nodded his head.

"You love baseball." the raven haired boy pointed out.

"Exactly." Jude hummed. "I'll fight the other team. Beat them with my bat."

"Yeah, and get yourself thrown off the team before the seasons finished." Mike said knowingly as Jude lifted his head, moving finally after feeling his limbs go stiff. Mike turned his head to look at him now. "Then how else is Dustin gonna make one of those huge signs for you?"

"Oh, god." Jude laughed at the thought, making Mike do the same. "He would."

"Paint our faces, wear your number." Mike listened on as he nodded. "Things will be normal then."

Jude gave a minor shrug. "Maybe I shouldn't get kicked off the team, then."

"No, you shouldn't." the Wheeler boy gave a single nod with a half grin. "I like the ball park nachos too much."

Wills eyes opening got the pairs attention, as it did Bob and Joyce from across the room. Jude grinned. "Hey, man."

"Hey." Bob grinned down at Will.

His eyes flickered his way, back to Joyce. "Who is that?"

They each pulled an odd look at his words. Joyce blinked. "What?"

"It's me, big guy. It's Bob." the older man smiled, but it was clear it hurt his feelings that Will hadn't realized who he was.

Will pulled his hand away when he tried to grab it. "Are you a...doctor?"

"No. No, it's just me. Just...just Bob." he stumbled over his words.

Jude patted his arm when he stood up. "I'll go grab the doctor."

By the time Jude returned with the white haired doctor, he was shining a light in Wills eye nearly immediately. "Do you remember your name?"

"Will." he said back.

"Your full name?" he went on. Jude walked back to Mikes side, tucking his cold hands in his brown jacket.

"William Byers." Will said back, staring at the doctor.

"Do you know who I am?" the man asked him, dropping the light into his pocket.

Will stared hesitantly. "A doctor."

"Have we met before?" he went on in questioning, the many eyes staring at his every move around the room.

"I don't remember." Will admitted.

"You don't remember me?" the doctor continued on, Jude's eyes flickering from him, back to Will as he shook his head. "Okay, how about, uh, how about this guy here?"

The doctor pointed toward Mike, Wills eyes looking their ways. Jude watched him watch Mike, looking at his eyes. The specks of green in his eyes weren't there anymore, only flooded in a dark brown shade. Will stared at Mike, Jude grabbed his hand when the Byers boy didn't answer. Mike gave a tight squeeze to Jude's hand, clearly showing how bothered he was by this. "It's all right, take your time."

Hurry up.

"That's why friend. Mike." Will said, getting a sigh of relief from Mike as the pair of boys hands loosened. "With Judith."

Jude gave a minor snort as he flashed Will a small smile. "Come on. You know I hate my full name."

"What about me, kid? You remember me?" Hopper gave him a minor grin. Will slowly shook his head, worrying the rest of them. "They tell me you helped saved me last night. You remember that?"

Once again, Will shook his head.

"You remember anything about last night? About what happened?" the doctor got Wills attention, his eyes staring over at him haunting like.

"I remember they hurt me." Will said back quickly. Joyce winced as she turned away, Jude took her hand.

"You mean the doctors?" he nodded at him.

Will shook his head. "No. The soldiers."

"The soldiers hurt you?" the man leaned forward a bit, clearly not expecting Will to say that.

"They shouldn't have done that." Will stared at him, Jude could count on one hand the times he'd blinked in the last ten minutes. "It upset him."

Mike and Jude shared a weird, confused look.

"You say upset him." the doctor pulled a photo of the mind flayer from his chart. "Is this him?"

Will looked at the photo, bringing his eyes back to him with a slow nod.

The doctor took the photo as he looked to Joyce. "Okay, I wanna try something. It's gonna seen a little odd at first, but I think it's really gonna help us understand what's going on."

"I have a feeling our definitions of odd are extremely different." Jude inhaled with a minor nod, stepping back as the nurses rolled in a box of one of the so called vines from last night.

"Now, Will, I want you to just let us know if you feel anything. Okay?" the man nodded, a hand on his arm. Jude blinked when the blow torch was lit, watching intensely as to what it was used for. The man slowly lowered the fire closer toward the box, a soft screech echoing from inside. "You feel anything?"

"Little sting." Will said shaky.

"Where?" the doctor asked. Jude uncrossed his arms, taking a step forward when he saw the man lowering the blow torch lower.

"My chest." Will winced.

"That's enough." Jude nodded the the man, though he didn't seem to listen. "Did you hear me? I said it's enough!"

Will began to yell in pain, saying how it burned everywhere.

"That's enough! That's enough!" Joyce called.

The doctor didn't seem to care. Jude gave a harsh push to the man's hands, the blow torch off the creature but the blue flame grazed his arm. Jude winced, Mike grabbing his shoulder to pull him back. The man looked at Jude, turning it off.

"Jesus, kid." Hopper approached, seeing how the flame cut through Jude's jacket sleeve and left his skin burned off for about six inches across his forearm. "Come on, we'll get it wrapped."

A nurse walked in, leading Jude away.
