Chatter rings through the workshop of 'Slizza Imports', with people caring boxes in and out of the workspace.

No one seems to notice as two adults, both dressed head to toe in formal and appropriate suits, strolls in, with papers clutched tightly in their shaking hands.

They both walk up towards a somewhat built in office window, protected behind a thin layer of useless bullet proof glass, with a sliding glass that seemed to always open with dust covering every nook and cranny.

Noah Diaz goes first, and clears his throat at the man sipping at the small cup of coffee, watching the news from a small black television.

"How you doing sir?" He greets nervously, and (Y/N) Alpin chuckles from behind him. "Um, we're here for the job interview?" He says it unsurely, but his friend gently taps his back, causing him to take in a deep breath.

"Noah Diaz and (Y/N) Alpin?" They each hand him their ID, and he takes them without so much as a glance. "I'll tell him you're here." He turns around and picks up a small rounded phone before dialing a number and speaking into it.

(Y/N) comes up next to Noah, and they both smile nervously at one another. But Noah's attention turns down when he sees a familiar face on the TV, and the women turns around to before gasping.

"This time on 60 minutes, I sit down to talk with Elena Wallace." The host introduces, and their smiles only grow when they see Elena's bright smile pop up on tue screen. "She recently discovered an underground temple with a temple of catacombs.."

(Y/N) glances at the security before reaching forward and turning the sound up. "..dating back to 5000 BC." They both watch as the same temple they had found together pops up on screen, with several researchers and diggers surrounding the very place they were at only a few months ago.

Elena's face pops back up, and she's smiling wider than ever. "I never could've imagined making a discovery of this significance, so it's definitely a dream come true."

The picture cuts off, and the friend are left smiling like proud parents. "Brooklyn, baby.." Noah mumbles with a grin, and (Y/N) bumps her shoulder with his and smiles.

Their attention turns up when the guard clears his throat and puts the phone down. "They're ready for you." He watches as they both turn to eachother quickly and quietly talk about who should go first, but he clears his throat, louder this time, and nods his head in both of their directions.

"Both of you."

...

The sound of coffee being poured into a mediums sized cup is the only sound that breaks through the nervous tension between the best friends and the man standing a few feet away from them.

His office was dark in color, with bright white lights buzzing above their heads, and a wall full of accomplishments that just seemed a little to much of an ego booster in most cases.

"Why don't you tell me about your strengths?" The man asks, his back still turned towards them. Noah nods quickly and clears his throat.

"In addition to our experience with electronics.." he fades his voice off and allows (Y/N) to continue. "We've also been really developing our team-building skills too."

She runs her palms against her thighs, and flinches when the man clips a lid onto the cup. He turns around, and the two shrink away at his forces smile. "Is that so?" He sighs out, and goes to sit on his chair facing them.

"Look, I'm gonna be honest with you." He chuckles, almost forced. "Resumes are a little thin."

"Yeah, well..I just recently had a job." Noah tries to smooth the tension a little, and (Y/N) nods. "And I've been jumping to and from a few jobs these past months."

The man smiles through his teeth and picks up their resumes, causing the two to fumble a little for an answer to their reasoning.

"W-working internationally." Noah chimes in, and (Y/N) nods.

This seems to peek the man's interest, and he flips the pages around to look for where it says that. "Oh, was that..no, don't think it's on here."

"N-no it was, um, a short term contract." (Y/N) covers, and Noah looks to her gratefully. "Oh, well, that's cool." The guy chuckles, and folds his hands into his crossed legs. "Why don't you tell me about that?"

The questions causes them to loosen up a bit, and the both nod. "It was in South America. So we got to work on our Spanish." Noah jokes, and (Y/N) laughs. "Our mom was real happy about that. You know what I'm saying?"

"You know moms." The three of them chuckle together, and the tension seems to have been died down a little. "But while we were out there, honestly man, it was really just like work, work work, you know?" Noah puts emphasis onto the word, and his friend breaths out tiredly for emphasis and laughs again.

The man clicks his tongue and shakes his head. "That's a shame, because I hear the food is really good in Peru."

Noah chuckles, but his eyes quickly divert to a glaring (Y/N). "We didn't mention anything about Peru." She says slowly, her hands curling tightly around eachother nervously while Noah furrows his brows.

The guy nods at her. "Well, that's where you were, right?"

"W-we were-"

"Down in Cusco? With you two and uh..Elena, and your um..call em friends?" He shrugs his shoulders, and the nervousness that once consumed the two quickly vanished at the mention of their friends.

"What.." Noah falters, and looks around. "What's going on in here?"

"We know a lot of about you, Mr. Diaz, and you Ms.Alpin." He looks towards (Y/N), and nods hesitantly as she continues to glare at him.

"Who are you?" She spits, and leans forward a bit. "The CIA or FBI or.." she falters a little at her questions, and Noah watches her nervously while the man barely blinks at her. "We are a secret government organization. Strictly off the books." He shakes his head. "We specialize in global threats, planetary loss prevention, that kind of thing."

Their faces slowly lift from their glares but melt into confusion, and continue to listen, rigid in place as the man continues. "We're in the middle of an ongoing war, and we'd love to have you join the fight.

You and your whole team." The mention of their friends makes them both glance at eachother, wondering what this guy was on about, having not really given them much to go on.

"You know.." he nods smugly, almost impressed with the two. "..the big guys." He raises his hand in the air for emphasis, and Noah purses his lips before shaking his head.

"No idea what you're talking about." (Y/N) sighs and nods, and they watch as he laughs silently before running his eyes between the two. "That's a good answer." The man mumbles, and clicks his tongue.

"Alright, either way I want you to know..in liue of the thanks of a grateful nation, we will be taking care of your brother Kris's health care, all of it."

The two freeze, and their minds instantly go silent at the news. Noah reaches over and grips her hand, and (Y/N) can feel her throat beginning to tighten as she looks down with unshed tears.

"From now on, he will have 24/7 access to the greatest doctors in the world.." the man looks between them, and he smiles slightly at their expressions. "And these are doctors who don't ask their patients about account balances."

Noah chuckles a little, and moves his head down before bringing (Y/N)'s hand up and placing a kiss against her knuckles. The women shakily nods in disbelief. "Are you serious?" She asks, still a little sceptic as if this was all some rude joke on the two.

But the man nods. "You saved the world, kid. It's the least we can do."

"I don't know what to say.."

"We'll work on that." He says softly, before sliding a small white card infront of them and patting the desk encouragingly. "Your brothers gonna be just fine." He promises, before getting up and walking towards the large wall of achievements.

The friends look to eachother and press their shoulders together, in both comfort and relief that their brother would finally be getting the attention and treatment he's always needed.

"Oh." The guy's voice draws their attention up, and they watch as he smooths out his brown jacket with a smirk. "Kris was right by the way." He presses his hand against a small wooden award, and pushes it to the left.

A metallic thud is heard, and the familiar sound of gears and wires turning cause both Noah and (Y/N) to scoff as the wall splits aorta and moves to the sides, revealing a much large open space behind infront of them.

"No names over the airwaves."

It looked like a large garage, with several spaces holding cars or machines. But what caught their attention the most was the large spacecraft that was being tempered with off to the left, black all around with metal circling around its wings and helm.

The guy leans downย  and presses a small button atop the control panel near him, and a mechanism clangs downwards at his command before he looks back at the two.

"We could really use people like you." He says seriously, and slowly begins to descend from the small platform he stood on. "Why don't you think about it?" The friends slowly get up from their chairs and walk towards the descending man, and their faces sunk in disbelief at the area around them.

The room was huge, with not many people around but with tons of heavy equipment and engineering that the two would have a field day with.

Noah looks down at the small card he was given, and he raises a brow when he reads the name sporting the top of it. He hands it's to (Y/N), and she looks down before turning it over, and scoffs with a smile when she reads the name.

"G.I Joe?"
