ANOTHER DEAD END

Elena was laying in her bed, in her thoughts when finally decided to get up and get ready.

She went into Jeremy's room and opened up his blinds.

"Aw early, bad" Jeremy groaned.

"It's not early. You're late. For work. Matt just called" Elena sighed, pulling the covers off him.

"Well, maybe he'll fire me" Jeremy said, looking at his phone.

"Aim high" Elena said with a small smile while walking out his room.

Caroline was walking around town with shopping bags in her hand while on the phone to Elena.

"What are you doing?" Elena asked.

"Just shopping for the party that you're trying to bail out on" Caroline answered.

"I never said yes in the first place" Elena reminded her.

"You were never going to. Which is why I planned it anyway. My mom wants you to call her"

Elena was walking down the stairs, on the phone to Caroline.

"Did she find something?" Elena asked.

"Animal attack in Memphis. Third one this week in Tennessee"

"And you're sure it's a vampire?" Elena asked, now in the kitchen, watching Alaric make a coffee.

"Yes, but that doesn't mean that it's Klaus"

"Doesn't mean it's not. I'll call her"

"Well, call her on her cell"

"Tell her thank you for her help"

"All right. I gotta go. I'll see you in a but" Caroline said, walking near the car park when she saw Tyler.

"Oh, Caroline, wait, just— Keep tonight small, please?" Elena asked.

"Wear something pretty" Caroline smiled before ending the call.

"Hi" She greeted Tyler as he walked towards her.

Damon was in the bath while Andie was putting earrings on.

He got the bottle of wine and poured it in his glass but their was basically nothing in the glass.

"We are out of champagne" He told Andie.

"Huh. No, you are out of champagne. I don't drink in the morning" She reminded him while putting her makeup on.

"Well, would you be dear—" He began but Andie cut him off.

"I think you can probably get it yourself. I'm not your slave" She told him.

"Hmm" He said before standing up and getting out of the bath.

"You're dripping a little" She smiled.

"Mhm" He said before walking downstairs.

Elena just walked into the Salvatore house and started putting her hair up when Damon came down.

"Morning" Damon called.

"Hey, I was gonna—-" She cut herself off when she turned around and saw that he was naked.

"Oh" She groaned as she turned around.

"You heard me. You knew that I was here" She added.

"You should learn to knock. What if I was indecent?" He told the doppelgänger.

She covered her eyes and threw him a towel.

He wrapped the towel around his lower half.

Elena slowly removed her hand from covering her eyes.

"Okay. Sheriff Forbes gave us another location to check. Memphis" She told him, holding out a piece of paper.

"Another dead end, you mean?" He corrected her, walking forwards.

"You don't know that"

"You're right. This could be the one. After almost two months, this could be the clue that tells us Stefan and Bella are alive and living in Graceland"

"Fine. I'll go by myself" She told him, walking away from him.

He vamp sped in-front of her and snatched the paper out of her hands.

"And let Klaus know you're tracking him? He thinks your dead. Keep it that way"

"It's a new lead, Damon. We haven't had one in a while"

"Okay. I'll check it out. If i find anything, I'll call you"

"But—" She began but stopped when he turned around and started walking away.

Damon walked into his room and put the paper in his wardrobe where the rest of the leads were.

"Moved down to Tennessee" He told Andie.

"Huh. That florida victim had family in Tennessee"

"Which one? Pensacola guy?"

"Uh-huh"

"You up for a road trip?" He asked, making her laugh.

"No can do. I have got to work. But I can see if I can get you an address"

"Mm" He said before pecking her on the lips.

"Mm, mm" She shaked her head before walking away.

"See you at the party" She added, laughing.

"Get me that address" He told her.

Jeremy was at the Mystic grill working while on facetime to Bonnie in the back room.

"You need to come home. It's boring here without you"

"You think you're bored? My dad's side of the family is like wet paint that never dries. How's the Grull treating you?"

"It's teaching me the value of mundane human experience"

"A summer job is good for you. You needed some normal in your life" She told him.

The light started flickering and then turned off and after about two seconds they turned back on.

"What was that?" Bonnie asked.

"Nothing. Look, I gotta get back to work, I'll talk to you soon, okay" He told her, going to end the call.

"Wait. Wait, Jeremy. Is everything okay with you?" She asked.

"Yeah. Yeah, normal and mundane. Come home soon, okay?"

"Okay" She smiled.

Jeremy hung up the phone as the lights started flickering again and as soon as they stopped Vicki appeared in front of him.

"Ah! Vicki" He said, shocked but the lights flickered again and she disappeared.

He rubbed his hand over his face in confusion and sat down.

Anna appeared behind him and was about to put her hand on his shoulder until Matt walked in so she disappeared.

"I need you to switch sections with me. Caroline and Tyler just sat in mine" Matt told him, picking up a clipboard.

"So?" Jer asked.

"So I don't feel like waiting on my ex-girlfriend" Matt snapped before walking away.

Caroline and Tyler were sat outside the grill, talking.

"Somethings up with your mother" Caroline told him.

"Like what?" He asked.

"When I was over yesterday, she just knelt eyeing me"

Before Tyler even got respond Jeremy walked over to take their order.

"Hey, guys"  He greeted, pouring water into their cups.

"Did Matt make you switch sections?" Caroline asked to which he shrugged.

"He thinks we're dating" Caroline scoffed.

"So does my mother" Tyler told her.

"What?" She questioned.

"We're together all the time. It's not a leap"

"That's crazy" She laughed.

"Right?"

They smiled before looking down.

Jeremy saw the way they acted and smiled, shaking his head before leaving.
