the man's demeanor had been noticeably different from when he had first entered, his once bright smile faded into a slight frown, the weight of his bosses previous words seemed to weigh heavily on his mind as he took a deep breath and looked around, seemingly in thought.
folding his arms, he leaned further against the brick walls of the store he had worked in, his head tilted back as his eyebrows knitted down, his expression falling blank. "five weeks,Β then your done."Β his bosses words rang through his head, causing his fingers to twitch within his palm, his nails digging into his flesh.
the man knew why he was getting laid off, it wasn't exactly surprising news to him - he had been coming into work tardy lately due to sleeping in, not that it was completely his own fault however. he blamed his roommate for having such long and overly loud 'pleasuring times' with her partner, it had been ruining his already shit sleeping schedule enough and in which causing issues at work.
slowly bringing his hand to his face, he took another deep breath in, holding it for a moment as he softly ran his finger across either side of the bridge of his nose - his glasses lifting up faintly as he exhaled. "i'm so fucked." he muttered, his voice raspy and low as he closed his eyes, and hoped to gain much more focus to think through his situation.
unfortunately, it was easier said than done. the only thing his mind continued to run to had been about the poor situation he found himself stuck within, the only job he had that paid well enough for him to barely get by supporting himself and his slob of a roommate.
he wasn't completely certain on what he could even do anymore, the man had been trying to get some other jobs to help bring in further more money - yet of course he either didn't qualify, or the places wanted his devoted attention on the job rather than having somebody who is balancing more than one job.
dropping his hand, the man's head shifted against the wall, staring ahead to the fairly busy streets. blinking as his teeth made contact with the tip of his tongue as he lightly bit down, trying to ease his anxiety. The man peered back towards the windowed door of the place he was employed at - it was a coffee shop, and a beautiful one at that.
the coffee shop was meant to look more of the vintage sorts, and was a charming sight to behold. The read brick front of the building had been covered with climbing vines of ivy and small white blooms that were just beginning to bud. windows line the top half of the building, each adorned with a flower box filled with pansies and petunias; these add a pop of bright colors that stood out against the darker bricks. in front, a large wooden sign hung above the door with a tiny bell, with the shop's name painted in delicate cursive letters.
the man would miss honestly loved working there, and it would be a shame when the five weeks he had been given left were finally up. the store was the only place he could manage working in - less crowds, wonderful and polite customers, the general comforting feeling the place brought to him once he entered.. and the most important of them all; it was perfectly clean.
"..i wonder if there would be any way of Joe allowing me back." he pondered his questions underneath his breath. his eyes locked onto the sign as he pocketed his hands within his pockets and sighed. the man doubted so, his boss took his job very seriously, and frankly he wouldn't allow himself back to such a wonderfully worked place either.
finally taking his attention from the building, the man took a step out from the shadows as the sun seemed almost eager to gaze upon him, its warm light dancing across his features like a gentle caress, making the very air around him appear to shimmer. the man felt the tension flee from him as he felt comforted by the sun and its warm hug.
as the man began walking down the street, handing small nods and greeting to the few people he walked by, he adjusted the uniform he wore. His hands finding their way to the brown tie he wore, his slender fingers curling around the fabric as he fixed the tie to seem more professional on him.
the white tag holding his name moved up with the scrunched fabric of his brown vest as he moved around, the name-tag glistening under the suns hold showing his first name to be, [Y/N], a rather fitting name for the un-mistakenly gorgeous face he had.
