Alissa was sitting at Carol's table, all of them playing Bridge. Aaliyah was leaned against the wall near them. It was Carol, Alissa, one other and Red at the table. "So she's the one who OD'ed, but it's my fault? Christ. Firstborn's supposed to be the responsible one so how come I had enough sense not to get hooked on my own product?" Alissa listened to Carol's passive aggressive rant. Apparently Barbara had OD'ed and they were trying to blame Carol, claiming that she must've put something in Barbara's stuff.

"Classic junkie. It's always somebody else's fault," said the one across from Carol. Aaliyah frowned, feeling a little targeted there. Though she hadn't blamed anyone specifically for her drug use, everyone else kind of pinned it on Nicky and Alissa. Aaliyah took responsibility for actions, the only thing she blamed Alissa for, was fucking up Aaliyah's life at young age, causing her life to go slightly down hill. But they were luckily past that. Alissa decides to imput, seeing the small frown on Liyah's face, "Junkie's got nothing to do with it. Family always blame family, that's just a known fact."

Red nods in agreement with the woman. "Yesterday, my son told me that I'm the reason my husband is prematurely ejaculating into a divorce from Sheepshead Bay." Red slaps a card down, Alissa raising her brows with a bit of amusement. Carol seemed to agree with what the two said. "The problem with family is expectations. Unconditional love, my ass-crack. Gotta earn my affections. They're not a right." Alissa chuckled lowly, feeling Carol give her look after that.

Aaliyah hums in agreement, that's maybe why Carol did give her some affection, because she actually earned it. Red looks to Carol, agreeing with the woman. "Exactly. I spent weeks apologizing to my son, begging him to visit, when I was the one who grew him from a speck of nothing. Fed him milk from my breast for three fucking years and now my tits hang like shriveled figs." Alissa chuckles at that, slapping down a card at the table. "I relate to that begging part. I've been begging Alec to visit for weeks and nothing."

"Aw, Mommy, please come visit me. I'm so sad you only visit Barbie." Carol mimicked a child's voice before slapping down a card aggressively. "Fuck unconditional love. Hate keeps me warm at night." Alissa feigned an offended look, Carol glancing up at her, "Obviously not you, Liss." Alissa snickers, patting the woman's hand with a smirk.

"In Russia, we have a saying. "Those who love you will make you weep. Those who hate you will make you laugh." Red says in Russian, Liyah understanding only a little bit of that as Alissa didn't get any of it but she knew where Red was getting at. Carol chuckles, slapping her cards down. "You don't even have to translate that. I hear you loud and clear." Carol looks at the woman across from her, "Sit there. Across from me. She's my partner now." The woman slapped her cards down, switching places with Red all whilst Liyah hummed a song under her breath.

"I tried to kill my mum once," Aaliyah randomly comments, Alissa giving her a scolding look. Carol chuckles, shaking her head in amusement, "Of course you did. Can't blame you, she always had it coming." Alissa scoffed, nudging the woman. "What's up with you two attacking me lately?" Aaliyah giggles, putting her arms around Alissa and kissing her cheek. "It's all said with love, mum."

"Bragging about your attempt to kill me is not said with love," Alissa scolds.

Aaliyah frowns, "You're no fun."

Aaliyah looked up suddenly, hearing Chapman laugh quite loud as she looked down at a paper. She cheerfully clapped her hands, getting the attention of Carol, Alissa, Aaliyah, and Badison. "Yes! Yay!" Aaliyah glanced at Alissa and Carol who gave her a nod, all three of them getting up, Badison following. Oh yeah, and Badison was no longer on Carol's bad side. After coming back from getting shanked, she had told Carol about another business. The phone business. She claimed Vause helped her out with it.

"Get the paper cupcake," Carol said. Alissa laughs softly, loving how Carol had grown to be a mother figure to her daughter. Aaliyah smiled, clapping her hands and energetically walking over, she stood behind Piper, grabbing the paper from her hands, she passes over to Carol. The two women scoff, looking down at it. "You didn't get kickball. You got D-block kickball."

Piper was quick to come to a defense. "I just offered it to anybody who wanted to play. You said I could ask the other girls."

Carol looks down at her with a hint of amusement. Almost wanting to laugh at her audacity. "If Barb's bitches are playing, we gotta have our own team." She looks over to the table where Badison's little crew was. "Akers, Creech, Chambal, both Amys, you're joining kickball." Carol looks to Aaliyah who seemed to be having a stare off with Vause. "Martin joined, you in?" Aaliyah hummed, glancing up at the woman, "I'll pass. I rather not have balls flying at my broken body."

Carol was fine with her declining, which surprised a few girls. No one ever declined Carol's orders, nor would Carol ever let it slide. "Badison, you're in charge." Badison laughs. "We can call it Badison News Bears." Alissa and Carol look at her with equally annoyed looks, "That's stupid." They stated in unison, Badison feigning offense as Carol handed her the paper back.

Chapman grinned, though Aaliyah could tell it was a little forced. "Diamond! Yo, you can be base coach." Badison says towards Zirconia. Aaliyah wondered when they suddenly became friends. But hey, she didn't care that much anyways. Aaliyah grabbed Badison's arm, pulling her off to the side as Carol went back to her table. Alissa followed her kid, standing next to her as Aaliyah cleared her throat, looking down at the fake blonde, "You got any info on Martin, yet?"

Badison nods, "Yeah. She's been moved to D-block. Apparently she's part of Barbara's crew now."

Aaliyah hums, "Interesting." She glanced up at her mother, "If she's working with Barb, doesn't that mean she's gonna tell her that you and Carol are working together again." Alissa shrugs, "She probably already knows. It doesn't matter, she's not gonna do shit herself. If she tries anything, we'll just deal with it, okay?"

"You got it, mum."

"You call your mom?" Alissa crawled onto the bed, sitting herself next to her girlfriend, Carol's eyes flickering over the words in Lissa's books. She didn't like to read, but when she was a little distressed, she would read because it reminded her of Alissa. Carol glanced up at Alissa who made herself comfortable next to Carol. "Yep," she mumbled, pulling her eyes back onto the book. Alissa smiled, her mood brightening, the blonde always curious of how Liss had become so positive the past few weeks. "And? How'd it go?"

Carol huffed, not having any energy to talk about it but not answering Alissa was worse. "How do you think it went?" It came out more snappy than she intended, but hey, Lissa couldn't blame her, she knew how Carol felt about her family. Carol sighed, not wanting to take her anger out on the girl who was only trying to help. "I'm sorry. I'm just frustrated." Carol ran a hand through her hair, her voice laced with irritation and exhaustion.

Alissa didn't seem to mind this on the other hand. Carol loved that about her. "What did she say this time?" Alissa queried, wrapping her arm around Carol's figure.

"The usual, "I don't care if it was an accident, or any other excuse you want to pull. I will not visit a girl who murdered my little Debbie." Carol mimicked her mom's voice with an exaggerating tone to it. "Which, by the way, is so hypocritical of her to say when she turns around and visits Barbie!" This was as usual, the same response Alissa heard for the past few days. She was quick to take the book from Carol before the blonde had a chance to rip it into pieces and she would be forced to have another book funeral.

"I know love. I'm sorry." Carol huffs, crossing her arms, she lays her head on Alissa's chest. Alissa smiles softly, a hing of sadness in it as she strokes Carol's hair. "That's the last time I'm calling her. Don't you dare try to convince me otherwise or I'll rip your books." Her voice is muffled against Alissa's clothes but it was clear enough for her to understand. "It's okay. I'm actually gonna spare you this time." Alissa shrugged.

Carol looked up at her, a form of shock and happiness consumed her features. "Really?"

Alissa nods, "Yep. If that were my mom, I'd probably pay someone to kill her so I get it if you don't wanna talk to her anymore. I wouldn't wanna talk to her either." Carol couldn't help but frown at Alissa's mention of her mom. Alissa hardly ever talked about her parents unless it was about their crimes or if someone brought them up. All she knew was the popularity that surrounded their name, along with their crimes, and that they were so bad both of them got put on death row. Alissa hardly ever mentioned how they were behind the crimes.

Carol suddenly finds herself asking about them, due to her curiosity to understand Alissa better. "Can you tell me more about your parents?"

Alissa furrowed her brows, glancing down at Carol in her arms. "What do you mean?"

"Like, how they were behind the whole murder stuff. You don't really talk about them much." Carol explains, searching Alissa's face for a reaction but the girl seemed to be blank, which was quite expected. She always got like this when her parents were mentioned. Same as when Tate was brought up. Surprisingly, Carol knew quite a lot about Tate. Alissa told her everything about him and what happened. But when it came to her parents, Carol hardly knew anything unlike how she did with Tate.

Alissa honestly didn't know where to start. She could go on and on about them. But, she spared that long conversation and went the easy route. "Well, my mom was actually really pretty, too pretty for my dad. I always found myself wondering how she fell for him. He wasn't really that good of a man. My mom, on the other hand, was amazing, behind the whole murder stuff. She was beautiful, like a Greek goddess, and incredibly talented. She had a voice of the angels. She always sung me to sleep. I can still hear her soft voice in my ear."

"Sappy," Carol comments. She chuckles as Alissa playfully rolls her eyes. "Sorry cupcake. Continue. This is getting interesting." Carol urges Alissa on, already sucked into the story, or maybe she just loved listening to Alissa's soft angel-like voice.

"My dad was...he wasn't a very good man, obviously, but I was young, so I saw through all his flaws. He treated me like a princess, when he was in a good mood. But, when he was in a bad mood, that was another story. My mom tried to protect me, from finding out about their...habits." Obviously it didn't take a genius for Carol to understand what she meant by that. It made her angry that Alissa had to go through all this. If she had the opportunity to take away Lissa's pain, she wouldn't hesitate.

"On the contrary, we would appear as a normal three person family to the public. And for a while, I thought we were, but then I found out. At first i was too young to understand, but then as I grew older, I started to understand more and more. This changed my entire view of how I seen my parents. My mom's beauty was simply a disguise to hide the true ugliness buried deep inside her. I was...surprised, to understand that she had been his accomplice. I couldn't believe she had actually helped and participated in his...habits. It was horrific."

Alissa took a breath before she continued, Carol making no effort to interrupt, wanting to hear more. "As I got older, their, efforts to protect me and care for me had suddenly become extinct. So I learned to cook for myself, and take care of myself, become slightly more independent. They noticed this, they used it to their advantage. They knew I wasn't gonna snitch and my mom wasn't a good cook. So, they had me make meals for the girls they took to the basement. I felt guilty so I tried to make sure the food was good, incase it was their last meal."

"Really, I wish I could say more about how they were behind all of their crimes but honestly, their crimes truly defined them. I can hardly see past them. Anytime I think of time, I just think of all the pain they caused. Not just towards me but towards all those girls and their families. I sometimes wish they got caught sooner. Maybe a little less blood could be spared." Alissa said, though as she looked back at it, it truly didn't effect her as much as it did before. She had Carol to thank for that. Now that she seemed to embrace her family name.

"Wait, so how did they get caught?" Carol questioned, glancing up after having rested her eyes, listening to Alissa's life story.

"I'm getting to that," Alissa chuckles lightly. "One day, I overheard my parents discuss moving. The police were had various leads and were getting closer to uncovering the truth so they wanted to move. And well..I wasn't quite ready to leave yet. So, that next day, I went to school, and went to my most trusting teacher. I had dropped some hints, pretending to be oblivious but secretly hoping that she was understanding where I was getting at. Thankfully, she did, and she went to the cops. There's a lot more but I'll spare you that. Anyways, that's how they got caught. Because of me."

Alissa crawls out of bed, Carol holding her head up with her hand now as she watched Alissa brush her hair. Carol looks up at her, feigning a confused look. "I don't get it. Why have a kid if you're secretly gonna kidnap girls and chop 'em up like liver?" Alissa shrugs, sitting down, Carol throwing her legs over Alissa's lap. "I don't know. Some people just shouldn't have be able to have children."

Carol raised a brow, a smirk growing on her lips. "When you get out, would you have a kid?"

Alissa scoffs, "No way in hell. I don't know the first thing about parenting and I refuse to make the same mistakes my parents made. I would be a terrible mom." Carol sits up, shaking her head, scoffing slightly, "No you would not. You'd be a great mom. Just think of kid the way you care about your books." Alissa snickers, shaking her head. It was truly a terrible analogy. Alissa leans back against the bedframe, looking forward at Carol. "What about you? Hypothetically, would you ever have kids?"

Carol grimaces, almost gagging at the ides of having children. She thinks of them as dogs, running around amd ruining everything in their vicinity. "God no. Never. All they do is ruin everything and make your life harder than it already is. Kids are useless."

Alissa grins, subconsciously rubbing Carol's legs, "I'm glad we can at least agree on that."

Carol takes Alissa's hands and pulls her forward, making Alissa fall forward onto the blonde. They laugh, Alissa straddling her waist, she leans forward as Carol cups her face. "So, we both agree, kids are completely out of the question?" Alissa spoke with a hint of amusement in her tone.

Carol nods with a grin, her eyes flickering down to Alissa's soft lips. "Well it's a good thing we'll never have to worry about kids."
