Nandini heard the sound of the door being opened. She rose her head only to find a familiar pair of eyes in front of her making her shock to her core.

"You!!!!" That's what she managed to utter.

"Yes, me. What were you thinking? Who has the courage to raise their eyes on you?" His eyes turned dark as these words escaped his lips. But the very next moment, his lips curved into a smirk. "I know you were not at all expecting me to be here. But what to do? I have so many scores to settle with you. So, I had to come back."

Till now Nandini was hearing his quietly. She was so shocked seeing him in front of her that she forgot what to say. But his last words broke her trance and she got more confused. "Which score you are talking about? What's there to settle, Manik?" She looked into his eyes trying to read them.

(Yes the person is none other than Manik.)

At first seeing Manik in front of her eyes after a long time, Nandini was surprised. She is seeing him after a long time. It took her a minute to believe that she she was seeing right, he was actually there in front of her. He was back and she was unaware of the reason.

Manik was Nandini's father's best friend's son. Manik and Nandini also used to be best of friends until they fell in love with each other. They used to love each other a lot. May be. Their family had decided to get them married after they complete their studies and settle down in their carrier.

Manik went to London for his MBA. It was his dream to be there. Then also everything was good between them. But everything changed when Nandini's parents died. They met with an accident making her life upside down. Manik's parents asked her through her uncle not to contact with them or Manik again. They are breaking their ties with her.

That time Nandini was totally drown in the sorrow after her parents departure that she didn't think of contacting them nor do they talk to her directly. Manik's parents were like her own parents. So, when they decided to break their relationship, it shattered her more. She could feel her whole world collapsing in front of her eyes and she could do nothing to save her paradise.

Manik has left for London 5 years back. Now he is back for reasons unknown to her. When he had gone, situations were different. Now everything is changed. That time Nandini used to love him like crazy and now she is someone else's fiancee. Everything is messed up. She is having a feeling that it will be more messed up in coming days.

"How are you, Nandi?" Manik asked breaking her chain of thoughts. Nandini remembered their moments when he used to call her 'NANDI' lovingly. She looked at Manik with love for a second but she hid it immediately.

Manik also saw the glimpse of love in her eyes but he ignored that. He clinched his fist tightly that his knuckles turned white.

Nandini gulped down her saliva wetting her throat and inhaled a long breath. Then looked at Manik's face. "What's this, Manik? Why have you brought me here and what are you talking about?" She asked faking anger. She knew whatever the situation is she can never be angry on Manik.

"Why are you in so much hurry? Just relax. You will get to know everything soon. Just wait. We have enough time to talk about all this." Manik said smirking at her.

"Leave me Manik. If I don't go back home, everyone will be tensed for me. They don't know where I am, what I am doing. I can't just disappear like this. I have a family." Nandini pleaded to Manik.

Manik turned his face to other side for a while. He can't bear the fact that his Nandini is pleading in front of him. No matter what the situation is he can't bear the tears in her eyes even after all these years. They still hurt him. Because deep down in his heart, he knew he isn't over Nandini. The feelings are still there, he was only suppressing his feelings for Nandini in the bottom of his heart. So to compose himself he turned to other side.

Manik turned back to Nandini wiping the pull of emotions from his face and plastered a sarcastic smile which confused Nandini.

"That's your misconception, Nandini. It's only you who think you have a family, who must be worrying about you. But the reality is different, princess. No one will even think about you, Nandini. No one is worried for you. They just love your money and wealth. If you won't go back home, no one will be in any problem. Forget about being tensed. Actually they will be happy.

Yeah, Nisha will be worried for you. After all, she is your sister and she loves you a lot. But you know she can't do anything except you. She needs you everywhere, for everything. How much helpless she is without you, you know that!!!

But the good thing is I have sent a text from your phone is that you are going out of town for some business meeting. And you go to meetings like this often. So, no one will be worried for you not they will have a doubt you are in any problem. You can thank me later for this favor." Manik said all this sarcastically. But last line he said with a devilish smirk.

"Why are you doing all this, Manik? What do you want from me now?" Nandini asked this time helplessly. Her voice was broken. It felt she lost the energy to fight back.

She was tired. . . .

Fighting with everyone. . . . .

"What do I want? Umm... Let me think." He pretend to be thinking something deep. Then he looked at her with stern eyes. "I want to give you pain. I heard that you had offered money to my men? I think you know that I have the ability to buy your whole property?" Manik replied in a dangerous voice making Nandini scared. His voice was cold like ice which sent shiver down through her spine.

"Why will you give me pain? What have I done to you?" Nandini again asked this time some drop of tears fell down from her eyes. She was holding them back since a long time.

"I will tell you all this later. Not now. And why will I give you pain? I guess you know that. And if you don't know then don't worry, you will get to know soon." Manik said and anyone can see the pain, anger and hatred in his eyes.

"Manik, you are crossing you limits."  Nandini shouted.

"Crossing limits??? I have not done anything yet. But now I will cross all my limits. Let's start the game, baby," Manik said dangerously and started taking steps towards Nandini. Nandini got afraid and she started moving back.

"Manik, please don't come close to me. Manik, stop." Nandini said closing her eyes and taking back steps.

Her back touched the wall. She couldn't move behind anymore. Manik bent down towards Nandini's face. He kept staring at her for a while. Nandini opened her eyes and found him staring her. She also looked at him. They drowned in each others eyes.

After a long time. . . . .

"I wanted to see this fear in you eyes. Always." Nandini came out of her trance hearing Manik's voice.

She was about to push him with her hands. But before she could do that Manik took hold of her hands and he tied them behind with a cloth. Then he also tied her legs.

Manik kept Nandini on the bed and was about to leave.

"Manik, don't leave me like this. Please don't keep me in this darkness. I will die. I won't be able to live here. Please Manik. Just turn on the light." Nandini pleaded.

Manik could easily guess that Nandini was crying which he hated the most. But for now he couldn't do anything. He wanted to go to her and hug her tightly. He wanted to hide her in his embrace from the whole world so that nothing can touch here. Only he knew how hardly he was controlling himself from going to her.

"Sorry, Nandini. You have to be in this darkness only. Else how will I be able to give you pain? Else how will I take revenge for my pain? Else how will you know what I have gone through? Sorry, baby. I can't keep you request." He controlled himself and told her sternly. He didn't want her to know that she still affects him the way she used to.

Saying this Manik left from there and closed the door from outside. Coming out of the room, he wiped his tears which fell down immediately after he came out of the room.

Nandini called Manik a few times but she didn't get any reply. So, she stopped. She was sobbing badly.

Manik who was standing out of the room only was not able to bear the pain of Nandini.

How can you bear the pain of someone whom you love the most!!!

But he didn't react in front of Nandini. He also feels the same pain whenever he gives her pain. But every time he remembers that Nandini is going to marry someone else forgetting him, he can't control his anger. He loses himself every time with the thought only.
