Chapter 5 The Shortly Anticipated Dinner Part 1

As Anne walked into Green Gables, too many confusing thoughts overtook her mind.

"I mean why am I even contemplating romantic notions about Gilbert Blythe. Sure, we are friends. I mean we called a truce and I said I was resolving to be less obnoxious, but that doesn't mean I have feelings for him." Anne shook her heads from these thoughts and walked into her room.

She quickly put her dress on and laced up her boots. She started braiding her hair in her usual plaits, but kept taking them out since they weren't perfect. After taking about 10 minutes to do her hair, she realized it would have to do and walked out of her room. She slowly walked down the stairs and walked into the kitchen, feeling like Princess Cordelia, walking into a ball, all eyes on her.

Marilla and Matthew were putting there coats on when Anne walked into the kitchen. They looked up and smiled when they saw her walking in.

"Anne, you look beautiful," Marilla said with a smile. "But how come it took you about 10 minutes to get ready," Marilla sighed.

Anne smiled. "Why thank you Marilla. I'm feeling extra beautiful in this dress. And it took me some time to get ready because my plaits weren't perfect," Anne said.

Marilla smiled. "Well Anne, you look wonderful, and your hair does, in fact, look perfect," Marilla finished with a smile. Matthew was just silently chuckling over Anne and Marilla's conversation.

"Yes Anne," Matthew said softly. "You do look wonderful," he continued with a smile.

Anne smiled gratefully and grabbed her coat and scarf. They then opened the door and walked towards the buggy to drive to the Blythe/Lacroix house.

Wow this is a very short chapter! I'm sorry I have been very inconsistent on updates and it's been awhile since I published the last chapter.
The thing is: I still love Anne With An E. I mean of course I do! But I haven't been very obsessed and like "watching it all the time" you know what I mean? It's not my main fandom at the moment (I never thought I would say that lol)
Anyway I might still keep this story going and I might go back and rewatch AWAE for inspiration or for the heck of it, but idk when I'm going to publish again....
