Save Me
There you were, standing at your front door, exhausted from the horrible day you just had. You tried to forget what happened at school today but you just couldn't.
It was the last day of the semester and your boyfriend, Jimin, just broke up with you because he didn't like how close you were with your best friend, Taehyung.
All you wanted to do right now was go to bed and just forget about it all.
You were about to enter through the front door of your house but your older brother, Jin, opened the door before you could.
"Y/n! GUESS WHAT!" Jin exclaimed with the most excited look on his face while pulling you into the house before closing the door.
You were shocked by his expression but remained calm. "What's up?" You asked, half hopeful that it was something that would turn your day around but also half not because you felt like just staying hidden from the world.
"When mom and dad get home from work, they're taking us out to a holiday resort!"
"What?! But that's in an hour," you said, suddenly not in the mood to have fun.
"Isn't that better?" He asked, a bit confused.
"No."
"Why not?"
"It's just that I'm really tired and hungry and I didn't even pack yet," you said.
"Do you want me to make you a quick snack before we leave?"
"No, it's okay. Can't I just stay home?"
"You know you can't do that. Then who will take care of my precious little sister?" He said with a cheeky smile on his face. Jin looked at you for a while then asked, "Y/n are you okay? Is something wrong?" He put his hands on your shoulders and looked into your eyes with such concern.
You smiled at his kindness. He's always been this caring of you. "I'm fine, Jin. Just a little tired, that's all."
"Alright," he said after staring at you for a while, then pulled you into an embrace. He hugged you for a long time before letting go. "Ok, now you go pack up."
It took you about 30 minutes altogether to get changed out of your school uniform and pack your bags. You had just laid down on your bed when Jin came in with two bowls of ramen.
"FOOD!" you exclaimed, excitedly and almost fell off your bed.
He laughed and gave you one bowl.
"Thank you!" You said with a huge smile on your face.
"Anything for you," he smiled. You ate together quietly until Jin decided to break the silence. "Okay, now tell me what's wrong."
You knew that he was going to ask. You guys were close like that. You told each other everything and always knew when something was wrong. He even knew about Jimin but you decided not to tell him the truth because of how protective he was over you. "It's just that Jimin didn't come to school today so I'm kinda sad that I didn't get to see him," you lied.
"Really? That's what you were sad about?" He shook his head. "What's up with you teenagers always getting upset over the smallest of things?"
You laughed and threw a pillow at him. "Hey! You're still in high school, you know." You said. Your eyes then shot open at the mention of school. You remembered that Jin didn't go to school today because he had a drivers' test to go to. "Oh yeah, how did the drivers' test go?"
Jin reached into his pocket for something, then brought out a card, with a huge smile on his face. It was his drivers' license.
"Awesome!"
You two continued to talk for a while until you parents came to pick you up.
You listened to music during the whole ride and ate a few snacks until you arrived at your destination.
The first thing you noted was that all the houses looked exactly the same but each with different numbers on them. There was also a pool within a few feet from the houses on the other side of the wall that separated the houses from the park and pools.
Your parents parked the car outside by the parking lot and you all got out with your bags and headed to your house which was the same like all the others; a double story with a glass sliding door, four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a huge kitchen and living room with a flat screen tv.
When you got inside the house, the first thing you did was call dibs on the coolest room which was the one upstairs with a glass sliding door leading to a balcony with vines growing on the poles of it. Your room also had a cool dressing table with a huge mirror which you didn't have at home and a bigger bed and closet that you didn't have back home.
You stood on your balcony and when you looked to the side, you noticed another balcony where Jin was standing smiling cheekily at you. "Haha I have a balcony too," he said and stuck his tongue out at you.
You laughed. "Looks like we're neighbours, then," you said and he nodded in reply.
You went back inside and packed your things out from your bags and into the shelves of your closet when you noticed you forgot one of your bags in the car. You quickly went downstairs and asked your father for the car keys so that you could go back to the car to get your bag.
You reached the car and got your bag but on the way back to your house you forgot which one was yours. All you remembered was that it was near the entrance to the pools. So you decided it was the 6th house.
You went straight upstairs to your room and quickly noticed none of your stuff was there. Just two green bags that looked similar to your brother's. You still had your earphones in from when you were on your way here. A happy song was playing and it was irritating because right now you were not happy so you took them out and headed to your brother's room.
"Jin, you can't just steal my room! Get your bags out--" you stopped mid sentence because you realized he wasn't there.
You instead looked around the room for your bags and in the process, knocked over something on the nightstand. You went to pick it up and saw it was a picture frame with a picture of a boy round about your age next to someone that looks like his sister and their parents. You looked up in confusion and found yourself looking outside the window at the house nextdoor. To your surprise, Jin was standing there. And then it hit you. You were in the wrong house.
You then heard the front door opening and quickly got up but while doing so, you knocked against the nightstand and made a loud sound. You ducked again. The house was quiet for a while until you heard someone walking up the stairs slowly.
"Who's there?" A frightened voice said.
You remained quiet.
A few moments later a frightened boy in a swimming shorts appeared in the doorway, soaking wet. He must've just left from the pools. He was also holding a broom above his head, probably to defend himself from the intruder.
"I'M SORRY! I JUST ENTERED THE WRONG HOUSE! PLEASE JUST LET ME LEAVE AND I WON'T CAUSE YOU ANY TROUBLE," you screamed, hoping he wouldn't hit you over the head with the broom.
He then froze and looked at you for a while. His cheeks turned red and he let out an embarrassed laugh. "Oh my god, I almost had a heart attack. I'm so sorry."
"No, I'm sorry for scaring you." You couldn't look him in the face because you were so embarrassed. You quickly took your bag and ran out before he could say anything else.
You couldn't get over how stupid you felt. You were now in your actual bedroom reevaluating everything that happened today. You brought a pillow up over your face to scream in it. "Could this day get any worse?" You asked yourself with a sigh.
A few moments later Jin came to your room and asked if you wanted to go swim with him and as much as you wanted to stay inside, you decided to go out for a bit because you thought it might take your mind off things.
You got into your swimming clothes and left with Jin. There where two pools: one big pool and the other was a baby pool. Next to the baby pool was a fence that separated the baby pool from the park.
You and Jin swam in the big pool together and you told him what happened with you earlier. He couldn't stop laughing. You laughed along with him but you still felt embarrassed. After a while you got tired of swimming and told Jin you were going to stop swimming now.
You got out and sat at the edge of the pool with only your feet in the water. You were watching everyone else in the water but one particular boy kept catching your attention.
Every few minutes you kept hearing him scream and have fun. He looked like he was seventeen or something but the way he behaved was like he was still a thirteen year old kid. He looked like the happiest person there. You wished you could be as happy as he was and not worry about all the dramas in life. Jimin was only one of your problems.
Lately you've been struggling to find yourself. You used to always know exactly what you wanted to do in life since you were nine years old but now you don't know anymore. You've lost your passion for that dream. And because you didn't have a dream anymore, you stopped trying in school because you didn't know what's the use of it. You really hoped that this vacation would help make your parents forget about your report.
"Hey, stalker," you heard someone say, snapping you back into reality. It turned out to be the boy you couldn't stop noticing from earlier who was now standing right in front of you in the water. You realized that while you were spacing out, you were staring at the lively boy and the lively boy you were staring at, you realized, was the same boy who's house you entered. Your face turned red at that realization.
"I wasn't stalking you. I just entered the wrong house. I told you--" you started but but got cut off by his laugh.
"I know, I know. It's all good, y/n," he said with a smile.
"Hey, how do you know my name?"
"Wait, are you telling me that you don't know who I am?"
"I've never seen you before today..."
His expression was blank. "We go to the same school..."
You were shocked at this. You thought you knew everyone that was it your grade. "Are you serious? Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for not noticing," you apologize.
He let out a small laugh. "No, it's okay. My name's Hoseok," he said. He lifted himself up out of the pool and sat next to you. He held his hand out to you for you to shake. "Let's start over and forget about what happened earlier. Let's be friends," he said with the cutest smile ever.
The way he acted was so adorable and innocent, you couldn't help but feel like you could trust him. You took his hand. "Why not?" You said with a smile.
