A/n: I can't write French accents. The song at the top, I'll tell you when to play it!

12pm the next day found Johnny in the living room of the Burrow in a beautiful dark green three piece suit, a skinny black tie and formal black dress shoes. Once again, he was struggling to do his tie.

"Zip me up, will you?" He heard someone behind him ask. Johnny turned and saw Hermione with her back to him, in a beautiful red dress. Johnny approached her slowly, the fingers on his left hand reaching for the zip. As his hand glided upwards, Johnny could feel the goosebumps on Hermione's skin.

"You look beautiful," Johnny whispered, placing a soft kiss to exposed skin on Hermione's neck, his arms wrapping around her waist. "You always look beautiful, darling."

Hermione blushed a deep shade of red, leaning her head back against Johnny's shoulder. Johnny stopped abruptly, causing Hermione's head to snap up. Standing in the entrance to the living room, was Fleur, a small smirk on her face.

"Morning," said Fleur in a singing voice. "Johnny, may I ave' a word, pleese?"

Johnny nodded, and squeezed Hermione's waist as he followed Fleur into the kitchen. In said kitchen Monsieur and Madame Delacour, Gabrielle, and of course, Fleur herself.

"Uh, what's going on?" Johnny asked, taking a seat in front of the family of four. Johnny was clearly very nervous.

"No need to be nervous, son," said Monsieur Delacour. "We just ave' a seemple favour to ask of you."

"Right?" Said Johnny, clearing his throat. "What is it?"

"Well you see, my usband has a very bad knee problem," said Madame Delacour, throwing the blonde hair behind her ear. "And we don't reely trust Mr. Weasley to give our daughter away on her wedding day..."

"So..." said Fleur, "we were hoping you'd maybe do it?"

Johnny stared at her blankly for a moment.

"Last week you accused me of being a Death Eater," Johnny pointed out, causing Fleur to look down at her lap and clear her throat slightly. Madame Delacour looked at her daughter with a scolding look. The Delacours had been informed of Johnny's situation before their arrival, and they reassured Johnny they didn't think he was.

"I am very sorry," Fleur said quietly. "I just found eet very suspicious when we were caught out like that."

Johnny sighed, running a hand down his face, "I accept your apology," Fleur beamed at that. "And yes, I'll walk you down the aisle, but I'll need a favour."

"Yes, anything!" The Delacour's cheered, and swooped down to hug Johnny tightly, causing him to chuckle.

Three o'clock in the afternoon found Johnny sat at the kitchen table, looking at his pocket watch every two seconds. The back door opened, and Mrs. Weasley walked in with who Johnny assumed was Aunt Muriel.

"My, you're a handsome one," said the older lady. "That'll be the Grindelwald looks! Yes, I know Gellert well, boy, is he coming today?"

"I don't think so, ma'am," said Johnny politely. Aunt Muriel tutted, and let Mrs. Weasley guide her to the bedroom where Hermione, Ginny and Gabrielle was helping Fleur get ready. When the bedroom door opened, Johnny shot up, but was met with Hermione smiling at him.

"This'll be great practice," said Hermione, straightening Johnny's tie slightly.

"For what?" Asked Johnny, as Hermione leaned up to peck his lips.

"For when you walk our daughter down the aisle, silly," said Hermione, causing an 'O' to form on Johnny's mouth. Hermione giggled and kissed him once more.

"Is that Krum?" Johnny growled, leaning over the sink to look out of kitchen window.

"Oh Merlin, it is," Hermione groaned, the arm around Johnny's waist tightening ever so slightly.

"Great, so we either play a game of avoid the pedophile or we rip out his throat," said Johnny, causing Hermione to giggle slightly.

"We're not going to Azkaban, so we're playing the game," said Hermione, still giggling at Johnny's words. She leaned up to kiss him once more. "I'll see you in there."

Johnny nodded silently and started pacing. He let out a sigh of relief when Fleur appeared with Ginny, Gabrielle, Mrs. Weasley and Aunt Muriel. The two older women left the house.

"You all look beautiful," said Johnny in a friendly manner. They all thanked him, and Fleur linked her arm through Johnny's.

A great collective sigh issued from the assembled witches and wizards as Johnny and Fleur came walking up the aisle, Fleur gliding, Johnny taking smaller strides and beaming. Fleur was wearing a very simple white dress and seemed to be emitting a strong, silvery glow. While her radiance usually dimmed everyone else by comparison, today it beautified everybody it fell upon, and once Fleur had reached for Bill, Bill didn't look as though he had ever met Fenrir Greyback.

Fleur kissed Johnny in the cheek as she let go of his arm, and Bill shook his hand firmly and thanked him. When Johnny took his seat beside Hermione, she beamed at him and kissed his cheek, linking their hands together.

"Ladies and gentlemen," said a slightly singsong voice, and with a slight shock, Johnny saw a small, tufty-hired wizard. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two faithful souls..."

"Yes, my tiara set off the whole thing nicely," said Auntie Muriel in a rather carrying whisper. "But I must say, Ginevra's dress is far too low cut."

Ginny glanced around, grinning, winked at Harry, then quickly faced the front again. Johnny smirked and nudged his cousin, who hit him in the ribs.

"Do you, William Arthur, take Fleur Isabelle...?"

In the front row, Mrs. Weasley and Madame Delacour were both sobbing quietly into scraps of lace. Trumpetlike sounds from the back of the marquee told everyone that Hagrid had taken out one of his own tablecloth-sized handkerchiefs. Hermione turned and beamed at Johnny; her eyes too were full of tears.

"That'll be us one day," Johnny whispered.

"...then I declare you bonded for life."

The tufty-haired wizard waved his hand high over the heads of Bill and Fleur and a shower of silver stars fell upon them, spiraling around their now entwined figures. As Fred and George led a round of applause, the golden balloons overhead burst. Birds of paradise and tiny golden bells flew and floated out of them, adding their songs and chimes to the din.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" called the tufty-haired wizard. "If you would please stand up!"

They all did so, Auntie Muriel grumbling audibly; he waved his wand again. The chairs on which they had been sitting rose gracefully into the air as the canvas walls of the marquee vanished, so that they stood beneath a canopy supported by golden poles, with a glorious view of the sunlit orchard and surrounding countryside. Next, a pool of molten gold spread from the center of the tent to form a gleaming dance floor; the hovering chairs grouped themselves around small, white-clothed tables, which all floated gracefully back to earth round it, and the golden-jacketed hand trooped toward a podium.

"Smooth," said Johnny approvingly as the waiters popped up on all sides, some hearing silver trays of pumpkin juice, butterbeer, and firewhisky, others tottering piles of tarts and sandwiches.

Johnny quickly pulled four glasses of Firewhiskey off of a tray and smirked as he handed them out.

"Cheers," said Johnny, clinking his glass against theirs. His three friends repeated his words and they downed the Firewhiskey, all giving a collective wince as it burned the back of their throats.

"We should go and congratulate them!" said Hermione, standing on tiptoe to see the place where Bill and Fleur had vanished amid a crowd of well-wishers.

"We'll have time later," shrugged Ron, snatching another four butterbeers from a passing tray and handing one to Johnny. "Hermione, hold on, let's grab a table.... Not there! Nowhere near Muriel-"

Johnny ended up leading the way across the empty dance floor, glancing left and right as he went; the other three felt sure that Johnny was keeping an eye out for Krum. By the time they had reached the other side of the marquee, most of the tables were occupied: The emptiest was the one where Luna sat alone.

"All right if we join you?" asked Ron.

"Oh yes," she said happily. "Daddy's just gone to give Bill and Fleur our present."

"What is it, a lifetime's supply of Gurdyroots?" asked Ron.

Johnny aimed a kick at him under the table, but caught Harry instead.

The band had begun to play, Bill and Fleur took to the dance floor first, to great applause; after a while, Mr. Weasley led Madame Delacour onto the floor, followed by Mr. Weasley and Fleur's father.

"I like this song," said Luna, swaying in time to the waltzlike tune, and a few seconds later she stood up and glided onto the dance floor, where she revolved on the spot, quite alone, eyes closed and waving her arms.

"She's great isn't she?" said Ron admiringly. "Always good value."

But the smile vanished from Johnny's face at once: Viktor Krum had dropped into Luna's vacant seat. Hermione and Johnny glared slightly at the Bulgarian. With a scowl on his face he said, "Who is that man in the yellow?"

"That's Xenophilius Lovegood, he's the father of a friend of ours," said Johnny, clenching his jaw in anger. He turned to Hermione. "Come and dance? "

"I'd love too," said Hermione, taking Johnny's hand and letting him guide her to the dance floor.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a special request from the bride, on behalf of Johnathan Grindelwald," said a man's voice. "This song is called "The Lady in Red" by singer, Chris De Burgh, and is dedicated to the love of his life, Miss Hermione Granger!"

The crowd cheered as Fleur and Bill departed to the sidelines, leaving Hermione and Johnny in the centre of the dance floor.

A/n: Play the song now!

"I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright, mhm-hmm
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance."

Tears welled up in Hermione's eyes as she and Johnny swayed to the music, and Johnny looked at her like she was the only person in the room. Johnny leaned down and kissed her softly, earning a soft cheer from the crowd gathered around to watch them

"They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
And I have never seen that dress you're wearing
Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes
I have been blind."

"The lady in red
Is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight."

"I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, you took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight."

Hermione giggled as Johnny twirled her, bringing her back into his chest. Johnny looked into the crowd to see Krum glaring at them and Harry and Ron were swaying slightly in their seats.

"Lady in red
Is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight."

"I never will forget the way you look tonight
The lady in red, the lady in red
The lady in red, my lady in red."

"I love you."

As the song ended, Gabrielle rushed towards Johnny, and handed him a small, red velvet box. The crowd gasped in excitement as Johnny got down on one knee, opening the box to show an engagement ring encrusted with thirty diamonds, just like Johnny had promised.

"H-Hermione Jean Granger," his voice came out shakily. He glanced towards Evelyn, who nodded her head in support. "When I first met you, on the 19th September 1990, I was a scrawny, nervous, recently turned eleven year old boy, who had no friends. When I learnt you had no friends and was bullied, I was overcome with the urge to protect you from everyone, which I did a pretty good job of in my opinion."

Hermione let out a tear filled chuckle, like the rest of the crowd who was watching them with smiles on their faces.

"We admitted our feelings for each other before we went back to Hogwarts for our second year, and I realised I first loved you under the mistletoe at Christmas that year, and then when you were petrified, my heart knew I wanted to spend the rest of my with you. You make me such a better man, you inspire me to do good in the world. I love you, so fucking much! I don't regret much in life, but I know I'll regret not proposing to you if we die tomorrow..."

Johnny took one deep breath.

"What I'm trying to say is, Hermione Jean Granger," Johnny took the ring out of the box  and tucked the box back in his jacket. "Will you marry me?"

"Of course I will, you idiot!" Hermione cried, pulling Johnny into a passionate kiss as the room broke into loud cheers, Ron, Harry, Evelyn and Tonks rushing to hug the new engaged couple. Johnny slipped the ring on Hermione's finger and kissed her once more.

Harry went to hug  and congratulate Johnny and Hermione once more, but it didn't matter, at that moment, something large and silver came falling through the canopy over the dance floor. Graceful and gleaming, the lynx landed lightly in the middle of the astonished dancers. Heads turned, as those nearest it froze absurdly. Then the Patronus's mouth opened wide and it spoke in the loud, deep, slow voice of Kingsley Shacklebolt.

"The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming."
