"S-say you're joking," Johnny said quietly, his heart dropping to his stomach. When Skeeter didn't answer, Johnny's eyes flashed red, his fangs and claws growing. He gripped Skeeter by the collar of green blouse and hoisted her in the air, slamming her harshly against a tree.
"Johnny, mate, calm down!" Ron said, tugging on his friends arm, but it was no use. The Alpha was too strong.
"Answer me!" Johnny roared, punching the tree close to her head.
"T-they found h-her body at P-Potter M-Manor!" Skeeter gasped, her long nails scraping at Johnny's hand. "T-the Dark Mark was cast over the house. Aurors are claiming it was the work of You-Know-Who's followers, out to finish what he started fifteen years ago!"
"Not a word of this in your shitty little Prophet," Johnny growled, his fangs and claws retreating as he dropped her. Suddenly, as though the weight of what Skeeter just told him was placed on his shoulders, he collapsed to the floor.
"J-Johnny," Harry said, at his cousins side in an instant. He too, was in shock, all adrenaline from the First Task washed a way as a pit of sadness washed over him. The aunt who cared for him, who took him from wretched Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, who made sure he was safe, healthy and well fed, was dead. "J-Johnny, l-let's go."
"S-she's dead!" Johnny sobbed, clutching Harry's shoulder tightly. "M-my mother!"
There was loud thunderous footsteps approaching them. Onlookers gave them a confused look, some even gave Johnny a look of confused pity as he sobbed helplessly into his cousins shoulder.
"Johnny!? Johnny, what's wrong!?" Pansy yelled, running towards where Harry, Ron and Johnny sat on the grass. Johnny instantly moved from Harry to s0b helplessly into Pansy's shoulder.
"I-it's Evelyn,," Ron said, glancing at Harry who was staring helplessly into the distance, his own silent tears running down his face. "She's been found dead."
Pansy's arms that were wrapped around Johnny's waist and shoulders suddenly tightened. Of course, Pansy had never met her best friend's mother, but Johnny had told her how great Evelyn Grindelwald neé Potter was. Evelyn Grindelwald was an accepting, beautiful, brave, caring, cool, fair, fun, generous, hardworking, honest and independent mother. Pansy would even admit that Evelyn Grindelwald was a better mother than her own.
"Oh, Johnny," Pansy whispered, hurt by how sad her best friend was. "Let's get you up to the castle, alright? We'll go to the kitchens and have a cup of tea."
Due to special permission from Dumbledore, Johnny was sat at the Gryffindor table that evening. He was surrounded by Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Fred, George, Katie Bell, Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, Seamus, Dean and Neville. They were all trying to comfort Johnny. Dean, Seamus, Fred and George were cracking jokes, Neville, Ron and Harry were reminiscing on the past three years at Hogwarts, Angelina, Katie and Alicia were trying to talk to Johnny about Quidditch next season, and Hermione was holding his hand.
"Babe, please," Hermione pleaded with a silent Johnny. "You've got to eat something."
"I'm not hungry," Johnny grunted.
"Johnny-"
"Hermione, for fuck sakes, leave me alone!" Johnny snapped, causing the people around him to jump back, even Hermione. "M-Mione, I didn't mean it!"
Hermione nodded silently, reaching for Johnny's hand again, but he stood up. He exited the Great Hall without looking over his shoulder. Johnny had no idea where he was going, that was until a voice stopped him in his tracks.
"I have heard your mothers dead," a cold Bulgarian voice said from behind him. "Good, one less Grindelwald the world has to worry about."
"I'm going to give you three seconds to walk away," Johnny seethed, clenching his fists.
"Or what?"
"Or I'm going to sink my fucking teeth into your neck and rip your fucking throat out!" Johnny growled. "One... two... three..."
With lightening speed, Johnny spun around, his fist colliding heavily with Krum's already crooked nose.
"Can you smell that?" Johnny asked sarcastically, aiming a well placed kick to Krum's ribs. "No? It's the smell of the blood dripping from your nose, and if your blood smells that good, can you imagine your heart, when I rip it out of your chest and sink my teeth-"
"Mr. Grindelwald, that is enough!" A stern voice called out. Johnny looked up not realising he had an audience watching him in shock, confusion and admiration. The speaker, Professor McGonagall, gripped Johnny by the elbow and steered him away from the scene.
"You must get ahold of yourself!" Professor McGonagall told him sternly as they entered her office, motioning for Johnny to take a seat. "I know this will be a hard time for you, Johnny, but you can't go around manhandling reporters and students."
"How do you know I manhandled Skeeter?" Johnny asked, glancing up from his lap.
"The evening addition of the Daily Prophet," McGonagall said with a sigh. "She's made you out to be a bad guy, Johnny, when everyone here knows your not, don't give Cornelius Fudge a reason to have you locked up like your father-"
"Jakob Grindelwald is not my father," Johnny seethed. "Never mind how biology works, he hasn't sent me one letter this year! Do you know how many he's sent Harry, acting all concerned about his well-being and his scar? Three. He cares more about his nephew than his own son."
"Well, nevertheless," Professor McGonagall said sternly. "Don't give Cornelius Fudge a reason to lock you up."
17th December 1994
For the first time in a month, Johnny looked decent. Before today he was pale, thin, with deep black bags under his eyes from lack of sleep and his hair was a complete and utter mess, but then Dumbledore announced an event that would take place over Christmas, the Yule Ball. The Yule Ball is a formal Christmas celebration, which is held for students of the Wizarding schools who participating in the Triwizard Tournament.
Johnny, now fully healthy again, was on his way to the library, a bouquet of flowers (red roses and sunflowers) held tightly in his hand as he walked. He of course, was going to ask Hermione to go with him, and he had just bumped into Harry and Ron, who were very happy he was back to his usual self, and they had told him that Hermione had been in the library.
However, when Johnny had gotten to the library, his heart was once again shattered into a million pieces.
"Will you go to the Ball with me?" He heard and saw Krum asked his girlfriend in a rushed tone.
"Yes-"
Hermione was cut off when Krum had kissed her, but Johnny didn't cry or throw a tantrum. He simply walked out of the library, the bouquet still clutched tightly in his hand as he went down to the Great Hall.
"Assuming you didn't ask her?" Harry asked as Johnny joined him and Ron at the Gryffindor table. It wasn't lunch just yet, but they had Study Hall, and as Johnny was about to answer, Pansy sat next to him and Hermione walked in, the latter taking a nervous glance at Johnny as she sat next to Ron.
"So, are you two going to the ball together?" Ron asked, glancing up from his work to wink at Johnny.
"I won't be going!" Johnny said angrily, causing Hermione, Pansy, Harry and Ron to jump in fright. He slammed the bouquet down in front of Hermione and turned back to Ron. "Because believe it or not somebody's all ready asked her! And my girlfriend said yes! And then snogged the bloke!"
"How could you do that to him?!" Pansy yelled, seething with rage. "After everything Johnny's been through!"
"Y-you don't understand-" Hermione said, but was cut off by Pansy laughing sarcastically.
"Oh I think I do," said Pansy, standing up abs slamming her hands down on the table. "You were pissed that he suddenly wasn't paying attention to you, so you wanted some attention and ran off with Viktor fucking Krum! That's right, I saw you library ten minutes ago, and Johnny's seen you too."
"N-no, it's all a big misunderstanding!" Hermione sobbed, looking at Harry on Ron for back up, but they looked between the four of them with confused stares. "P-please, J-Johnny, listen to me! I love you-"
"How dare you tell him that!?" Pansy yelled, taking long strides around the table so she was in Hermione's face, Johnny trailing behind her like a lost puppy and tugging in her hand.
"Pansy, leave it," Johnny muttered, tugging on her hand.
"No! Let me fucking at her!" Pansy yelled, tugging her hand out of Johnny's grip. The occupants of the Great Hall gasped as a loud smack echoed off the walls. Pansy had slapped Hermione with so much force, that the latter laid on the ground holding her cheek. "You get what you fucking deserve, slag."
"That was a bit far," Johnny muttered to Pansy as he followed her out of the Great Hall.
"No it wasn't."
"You didn't have to call her a slag."
"Mr. Grindelwald, a quick word in my office," their conversation was interrupted by Professor Dumbledore. "Don't worry yourself, my boy, you're not in any trouble."
"I'll meet you in the common room," Pansy said, hugging her best friend tightly and kissing him on the cheek. "Don't let that bitch bring you down, JJ."
Johnny smiled and followed Dumbledore.
"Lemon Drop?" Dumbledore offered when Johnny sat in front of his desk. Johnny thanked him and took one. "I've heard the rumours that you're now single."
"Uh, yes?" Johnny said, but it came out more of a question.
"Are you not going to the ball?"
"Well no," Johnny said. "I think I'm going to just go to Austria for Christmas. Visit my grandfather."
"I've also heard rumours that you're an excellent singer," Dumbledore said with that twinkle in his eye.
"I am," Johnny agreed. "I can also conduct an orchestra, play violin, guitar, piano and sing in Italian, English, German, French, Welsh and Spanish."
"Brilliant, quite brilliant," said Dumbledore. "I have a proposition for you, as the band I've booked has dropped out, and you can see this as a solution to your girlfriend problem..."
"I'm listening..."
December 25th 1994
Johnny finished doing his hair when Pansy yelled out through the Slytherin dorms.
"What's wrong?" Johnny asked through the door of the Girls Dormitory, knowing them two were the only ones in the Slytherin dungeon. All the others had already left or were getting in different Common Rooms
"Help me, please?" Pansy said.
"Is it safe to come in?" Johnny asked.
"Of course it is," Pansy said, and you could practically hear the eye roll. "I need help with my hair and makeup, and you told me you used to do Caterina's, soooo, please help, I can only do eyeliner, lipstick and eyebrows."
"Get fucked can you do eyebrows," Johnny said sarcastically. "They look like a squirrel chopped off its bushy arse tail and put them on your face. But of course I'll help," Johnny said, motioning for the stool in front of the vanity mirror. "Let's see here, Glamour Waves would look brilliant on you, so would Side Swept Curls, hmm, damn even a Double Braided Bun."
"You really know all women's hairstyles?" Pansy asked with a laugh.
"Caterina made me subscribe to Weekly Hairstyles and practice on here," Johnny said with a fond smile. "Can't forget AVON either, the school thought I was gay."
"Well it's paying off now," Pansy smiled as Johnny ran a brush through her hair. "I'm thinking Glamour Waves too."
"Then Glamour Waves it is," and ten minutes later, Pansy sat in front of the mirror with her hair done. "Right, makeup. What're we thinking? Natural?"
"Yeah, natural," Pansy said, smiling as her best friend lifted different moisturisers and primers.
"Rub the moisturiser in, dry it with your wand and then add your primer," Johnny ordered, looking at the different foundations Pansy had. "Think of primer as a base for your foundation or face makeup that will help it go on smoother and last longer. Primers are silky smooth gels and creams that fill in the lines and pores on your face, smoothing out uneven textures and creating the ideal canvas for your makeup. To apply it, begin by squeezing a small amount onto your fingertips, a little bit goes a long way. Start with a dime-sized amount of primer in the center of your face, and slowly work it out towards your cheeks, forehead, and chin."
"Is that okay?" Pansy asked two minutes later, causing Johnny to look up from the foundation bottles.
"Lovely," Johnny said, holding a foundation bottle against Pansy's face. "We've got your foundation colour. Right, I'm going to use a brush for this as I don't want to ruin the primer with my fingers, so keep still. I'm starting from the center of your face and blend the liquid foundation outwards, then use a damp sponge to make sure it's in the creases, it'll make your face smoother."
"Lovely," Johnny said after a minute. "Now, concealer."
Fifteen minutes later, Johnny had finished all of Pansy's hair and makeup, and looked in admiration.
"You look stunning, darling," Johnny said, imitating a Muggle makeup artist he once met. "Dani won't know what hit her, and if you don't shag her tonight she must actually be straight."
Pansy laughed as Johnny exited her dorm to get ready. Once he had finished tying up his shoes and buttoning his jacket, he went down to the Common Room where he met Pansy.
"Damn," Pansy whistled playfully. "If I wasn't going with Dani and you weren't so smitten with that bitch, I'd so jump your bones right now."
"Nice to know," Johnny grimaced. "I swear we had that talk where you said we're siblings like, last week?"
"Whoops," Pansy shrugged.
"Sweet Home Alabama," Johnny joked, checking his watch. "I told Dani I'd escort you to the Hall, so your arm, Madam Parkinson."
Pansy laughed as Johnny bowed. She linked her arm with Johnny's together they strolled out of the Slytherin common room with their heads held high. No one had expected Johnny to be going after the whole Hermione incident, so when he appeared everyone was openly gawking at Johnny in a tight fitted suit.
"Dani," Johnny said, smirking. "Here's your date for the night. Makeup and hair done by yours truly."
"Well you did a great job," Dani smiled, leaning to kiss Pansy on the cheek, causing the latter to blush furiously.
"You two have fun," Johnny wiggled his eyebrows between them. "And not to much fun."
"I hate you," Pansy groaned, leaning to hug Johnny and kiss his cheek.
"She loves you really," Dani said with a chuckle, leaning to hug Johnny as well.
"Oh I know she does," Johnny smiled. "I heard the Prefect Bathrooms aren't only a nice place for a bath."
Johnny winked as he left them for the empty Great Hall which would soon be filled with students and their dates. At the end of the Hall, near the stage was Professor Dumbledore.
The walls of the Hall had all been covered in sparkling silver frost, with hundreds of garlands of mistletoe and ivy crossing the starry black ceiling. The House tables had vanished; instead, there were about a hundred smaller, lantern-lit ones, each seating about a dozen people.
"You look rather dashing, Mr. Grindelwald," Dumbledore began, noticing Johnny walking towards them. "Rather like your grandfather in that sense."
Johnny smiled at Dumbledore.
"Are we ready?" Johnny asked, looking at the instruments that would magically play themselves.
"We are, but you shall be joining the top table for dinner," Dumbledore instructed.
"That's where the champions and their dates sit," Johnny said, his throat suddenly tight at the thought of seeing Hermione and Viktor being all lovey dovey with each other.
"It is, but I had strict orders of your mother that if she was to pass, I'd look after you," Dumbledore informed him. "So you will eat or I will contact your grandfather."
"And would he do?" Johnny asked sarcastically. "It's not like he's locked up."
"You jest now," Dumbledore's eyes twinkled with amusement. "You will join us, and the orchestra will play softly until you're ready."
"Fine," Johnny grumbled, finding the seat with his name on. It was between Harry and Cedric. "Uh, Professor, one small thing?."
"Yes, m'boy?" Dumbledore asked, sitting down at his spot. The Hall was filling greatly as Percy Weasley sat down on the seat next to Harry's, Ludo Bagman and the other heads of schools joined their table.
"When you bring me out, can you introduce me as Johnny Scaletta?" Johnny asked, fiddling with a fork.
"Yes, sure thing."
Dumbledore smiled happily as the champions approached the top table, but Johnny wore a hatred expression as he watched Krum and Hermione draw nearer. Ludo Bagman, tonight in robes of bright purple with large yellow stars, was clapping as enthusiastically as any of the students; and Madame Maxime, who had changed her usual uniform of black satin for a flowing gown of lavender silk, was applauding them politely.
When the champions and their partners reached the table, Percy drew out the empty chair beside Harry, staring pointedly at Harry. Harry took the hint and sat down next to Percy, who was wearing brand-new, navy-blue dress robes and an expression of such smugness that Johnny thought it ought to be fined.
"I've been promoted," Percy said before Harry or Johnny could even say hello to each other, and from his tone, he might have been announcing his election as supreme ruler of the universe. "I'm now Mr. Crouch's personal assistant, and I'm here representing him."
"Why didn't he come?" Harry asked. Johnny however, was staring at Krum, as though if he stared hard enough the Bulgarian would die an excoriating death.
"I'm afraid to say Mr. Crouch isn't well, not well at all. Hasn't been right since the World Cup. Hardly surprising - overwork. He's not as young as he was - though still quite brilliant, of course, the mind remains as great as it ever was. But the World Cup was a fiasco for the whole Ministry, and then, Mr. Crouch suffered a huge personal shock with the misbehavior of that house-elf of his, Blinky, or whatever she was called. Naturally, he dismissed her immediately afterward, but - well, as I say, he's getting on, he needs looking after, and I think he's found a definite drop in his home comforts since she left. And then we had the tournament to arrange, and the aftermath of the Cup to deal with - that revolting Skeeter woman buzzing around - no, poor man, he's having a well earned, quiet Christmas. I'm just glad he knew he had someone he could rely upon to take his place."
"I thought I told you not to speak bad of my people," Johnny seethed, looking towards Percy with his eyes glowing red. "If you don't have anything nice to say, Weatherby, don't bloody say it."
"What's got your wand in a knot?" Percy asked, blushing in embarrassment at the use of his incorrect last name. Harry nodded his head towards where Krum was talking to Hermione, but Hermione was staring at Johnny who had his fist clenched around his knife, trying to stop his temptation of throwing it at Krum's head.
There was no food as yet on the glittering golden plates, but small menus were lying in front of each of them. Johnny calmed down and picked his up uncertainly and looked around - there were no waiters. Dumbledore, however, looked carefully down at his own menu, then said very clearly to his plate, "Pork chops!"
And pork chops appeared. Getting the idea, the rest of the table placed their orders with their plates too. Johnny glanced up at Hermione to see how she felt about this new and more complicated method of dining - surely it meant plenty of extra work for the house-elves? - but for once, Hermione didn't seem to be thinking about S.P.E.W. She was staring at Johnny, and Krum was quickly becoming agitated at this.
"Veil, ve have a castle also, not as big as this, nor as comfortable, I am thinking," he was telling Hermione. "Ve have just four floors, and the fires are lit only for magical purposes. But ve have grounds larger even than these - though in vinter, ve have very little daylight, so ve are not enjoying them. But in summer ve are flying every day, over the lakes and the mountains -"
"Now, now, Viktor!" said Karkaroff with a laugh that didn't reach his cold eyes, "don't go giving away anything else, now, or your charming friend will know exactly where to find us!"
Dumbledore smiled, his eyes twinkling. "Igor, all this secrecy, one would almost think you didn't want visitors."
"Well, Dumbledore," said Karkaroff, displaying his yellowing teeth to their fullest extent, "we are all protective of our private domains, are we not? Do we not jealously guard the halls of learning that have been entrusted to us? Are we not right to be proud that we alone know our school's secrets, and right to protect them?"
"Oh I would never dream of assuming I know all Hogwarts' secrets, Igor," said Dumbledore amicably. "Only this morning, for instance, I took a wrong turning on the way to the bathroom and found myself in a beautifully proportioned room I have never seen before, containing a really rather magnificent collection of chamber pots. When I went back to investigate more closely, I discovered that the room had vanished. But I must keep an eye out for it. Possibly it is only accessible at five-thirty in the morning. Or it may only appear at the quarter moon - or when the seeker has an exceptionally full bladder."
Johnny snorted into his plate of goulash. Percy frowned, but Johnny could have sworn Dumbledore had given him a very small wink.
Meanwhile Fleur Delacour was criticizing the Hogwarts decorations to Roger Davies, the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain.
"Zis is nothing," she said dismissively, looking around at the sparkling walls of the Great Hall. "At ze Palace of Beauxbatons, we 'ave ice sculptures all around ze dining chamber at Chreestmas. Zey do not melt, of course...zey are like 'uge statues of diamond, glittering around ze place. And ze food is seemply superb. And we 'ave choirs of wood nymphs, 'oo serenade us as we eat. We 'ave none of zis ugly armor in ze 'alls, and eef a poltergeist ever entaired into Beauxbatons, 'e would be expelled like zat." She slapped her hand onto the table impatiently.
Roger Davies was watching her talk with a very dazed look on his face, and he kept missing his mouth with his fork. Johnny had the impression that Davies was too busy staring at Fleur to take in a word she was saying.
"Absolutely right," he said quickly, slapping his own hand down on the table in imitation of Fleur. "Like that. Yeah."
Johnny looked around the Hall. Hagrid was sitting at one of the other staff tables; he was back in his horrible hairy brown suit and gazing up at the top table. Johnny saw him give a small wave, and looking around, saw Madame Maxime return it, her opals glittering in the candlelight.
Hermione was now teaching Krum to say her name properly; he kept calling her "Hermy-own."
"Her-my-oh-nee," she said slowly and clearly.
"Herm-own-ninny."
"Hermione, you twat!" Johnny said, causing the table to go silent and stare at Johnny.
"Sorry," Johnny muttered, blushing in embarrassment. "Wasn't meant to be that loud."
When all the food had been consumed, Dumbledore stood up and asked the students to do the same.
"May I introduce for you tonight's entertainment," Dumbledore said into his wand. "As requested, it's a pleasure to introduce Hogwarts own Johnny Scaletta!"
Johnny trooped up onto the stage to wildly enthusiastic applause. Johnny smirked and waved as he stood in front of the old microphone, picking up the violin and the bow.
"The Second Waltz," Johnny said to the instruments, seeing the Champions ready to dance. Johnny readied his violin and together they played in harmony, Johnny spinning to watch the champions, mainly Hermione dance. Hermione looked completely different, yet beautiful all the same as Krum spun her. She was wearing a blue dress, with her hair done up and not it's usual bushy self.
Once the dance had finished, Johnny muttered the song to the orchestra and placed his violin down, and then standing on front of the microphone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mesdames et Messieurs," Johnny spoke into the microphone, getting another loud cheer from the audience. "My mother always told me to smile and put on a happy face. She told me I had a purpose: to bring laughter and joy to the world. My first song tonight is another slow one, and it really isn't the most joyous song in the world, but please feel free to dance, stare at my handsome looks, which I don't recommend if you're with boyfriends and girlfriends, or even sing along if you know the words."
Johnny took a deep breath, before he heard the music start.
I'll Never Fall In Love Again - Tom Jones
I've been in love just one time
Thought I knew the score
But now you've treated me so wrong
I can't take anymore
Johnny sung into the microphone, causing many to gasp as they realised who he was singing about. Johnny caught Hermione's tear filled gaze and smiled sadly.
And it looks like
I'm never gonna fall in love again
Fall in love, I'm never gonna fall in love
I mean it
Fall in love again
All those things I heard about you
I thought they were only lies
But when I caught you in his arms
I just broke down and cried
Johnny smiled as many couples danced along to the song, just enjoying the moment with their other halves. That's all he wanted, was other people to be happy
And it looks like
I'm never gonna fall in love again
Fall in love, no, I'm never gonna fall in love
I mean it, I mean it
Fall in love again
I gave my heart so easily
I cast aside my pride
But when you fell for someone else, baby
I broke up all inside
And it looks like
I'm never gonna fall in love again
Johnny's eyes found Hermione's again and the girl could see the tears glisten in his ocean eyes as she refused to dance with Krum. His eyes held pain, heartbreak, but there was hope in them as he stared at her. Hope that she would run right back into his arms and kiss him like there was no tomorrow.
That's why I'm a-singin' it
Fall in love, no, I'm never gonna fall in love
Please don't make me
Fall in love again
But Hermione didn't do that. She finally forced herself to look away from her ex boyfriend and face Krum as the next song started.
It was about an hour later, when Johnny was taking a break from singing to wipe his sweaty forehead and take a drink of water, when he saw Hermione and Ron arguing at a table with Harry sat between them staring blankly ahead. It was clear that the boy's dates had left them as Johnny saw them dancing with boys from Drumstrang.
Hermione and Ron suddenly stood up, arguing as they left they Hall, Harry following quietly behind them. Curious, Johnny followed in time to see Ron and Harry striding up the stairs and Hermione sit down on the bottom steps, kicking her heels off. Johnny took a deep breath as he approached the now sobbing girl
"Uh, hey," Johnny said hesitantly. "What's the matter?"
"Oh, Johnny," Hermione cried harder. "I-I'm sorry."
"Hey, there's no time for my apology now," Johnny said, sitting down next to her and wrapping his arm around her shoulder. "I'm here to comfort you."
"T-this is all one big misunderstanding!" Hermione cried harder into Johnny's chest.
"What is?"
"I never wanted to go with Krum!" Hermione cried. "I thought he had asked me something about work and if I could explain it to him, he caught me off guard and then he kissed me! I didn't kiss him back, actually shoved him back. Then no one would let me explain what happened and it was just all so fucked! So I decided to go with Viktor and all he kept on doing was touching me and going on about himself!"
"Hey, hey, hey," Johnny interrupted her, making the hysteric girl take a breath. "I'm so so so sorry for not letting you explain, I feel so fucking guilty for it! I was just so hurt and upset after the death of my mother, that Krum kissing you really topped it off! And I'm really sorry for Pansy for slapping you-"
Johnny was cut off when Hermione smashed her lips against his. Engaged in their most passionate kiss yet, they shamelessly snogged on the steps while others around them sobbed that their dates left them.
"T-that was nice," Johnny breathed out as he rested his forehead on Hermione's. Hermione let out a giggle. "Shall we forget about Krum and get back together? Forget that any of this ever happened?"
"That sounds like a brilliant idea," Hermione smiled, pecking Johnny's lips. "Now go, you've got an excellent concert to finish."
"Come dance with me then?" Johnny offered, standing up and holding his hand out. Hermione giggled as Johnny picked her heels up from the floor and rushed them both to the stage where there were still many cheers from the audience. Johnny pinned his wand to his jacket and muttered a spell to amplify his voice
"This next song is only dedicated for beautiful people here tonight," Johnny said into his wand, dropping Hermione's high heels next to him. "It means all of you, thank you for coming along and making this a great occasion."
Everything I Do (I Do It For You)
[Verse 1]
Look into my eyes
You will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart
Search your soul
And when you find me there
You'll search no more
[Chorus]
Don't tell me
It's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me
It's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do
I do it for you
A tear came to Hermione's eye as Johnny placed his on her waist and slow danced with her. Of course, Johnny had serenaded her all the time before everything, but never with this raw emotion in his voice.
[Verse 2]
Look into your heart
You will find
There's nothin' there to hide
Take me as I am
Take my life
I would give it all
I would sacrifice
[Chorus]
Don't tell me
It's not worth fightin' for
I can't help it
There's nothin' I want more
You know it's true
Everything I do
I do it for you
[Bridge]
There's no love
Like your love
And no other
Could give more love
There's nowhere
Unless you're there
All the time
All the way, yeah
[Interlude]
Look into your heart, babe
Yeah
Oh yeah
[Chorus]
Oh, you can't tell me
It's not worth tryin' for
I can't help it
There's nothin' I want more
Yeah, I would fight for you
I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you
Yeah, I'd die for you
Johnny finished and got a loud round of applause.
"That was my last song for tonight," Johnny said and the crowd groaned. "You have all been a wonderful audience and you can stay, my magical orchestra will still be playing."
Johnny took Hermione's heels and her hand and led them off the stage.
"Where should we go?" Johnny whispered as Hermione eagerly kissed him.
"Astronomy Tower?" Hermione suggested. "We can lock the door so it's-"
"You stole me girlfriend," a cold Bulgarian voice said from behind them, causing the couple to jump a foot in the air.
"You see, Dumb Krum," Johnny said, shaking his finger at him. "She was never yours in the first place, and if I ever find out that you placed your dirty hands on my girlfriend again, you'll end up like your grandfather."
"Is that a threat?" Krum asked pulling out his wand.
"Oh you bet your arse," Johnny went to stun him but was interrupted when Krum's Drumstrang friends pulled the boy away while laughing and shouting loudly.
"Shall we still go to the Tower?" Hermione whispered, staring at where Krum just got dragged off.
"Will any of your dorm mates be there?" Johnny asked. Hermione shook her head.
"Parvarti is with a Drumstrang boy on their ship, Lavender is with a Ravenclaw boy in their common room and Fay went home."
"Then let's go to yours," Johnny said eagerly, wrapping his arms around Hermione's waist, making her squeal and wrap her legs around his waist.
