Walking aimlessly around in one of the rooms inside your boundary all alone by yourself, you contently humming the tune of song ' Senbonzakura '; liking the meaning of lyrics even more— when the corner of your eyes caught a glimpse of your notebook that you've been currently working on.

Smiling to yourself, heels spun to the direction of the [ color ] colored book to have it in your grasp.

Opening the hardcover of the book, flipping a few sheets that were filled with neat black colored handwriting and slight smudge due to the ink. Movements of your hand went halted when your gaze settled on a certain page, a shaky sigh exhaled through your nose while recalling where the life of yours started.

You could say, you were pleased with it.

Tsubasa [Y/N].

A girl that was born in the year of the Taisho period of 1920 with a young little brother by one year, a father who is a police officer and a mother who worked as a geisha.

The only daughter of Tsubasa family could only play stringed traditional Japanese musical instruments way too fluently was recognized by teachers and citizens. Despite all the attention that she had, she fell in love with the art of ukiyo-e instead.

She's much more interested in the landscape one.

How mesmerizing the portraits of The Great Wave off Kanagawa and The Naruto Whirlpools in Away Province once her eyes landed on them. Not to mention, other artworks by both Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige are tremendously significant.

❝ Just one more day. ❞

She told herself. One more day until she could voice out her desire to become a Japanese artist and stop being a musician. Deciding to pour out her soul to her art once she has a paintbrush in her hands.

❝ After this. ❞

After the performance the day after the Obon festival with the main venue was the auditorium of her schoolhouse held, where she would be playing Koto in front of thousands of audience.

❝ It's okay. ❞

She won't be suffering the anxiety when you're at the front of silent crowds. Being judged by the artworks instead? Not bad. Better than being judged right in front of her damn face. Watching them spewing nothing but lies or some criticisms. Barely of them are genuine aside from her relatives.

They were envious.

This is the last time. ❞

Indeed it was her last time. Not only playing the instruments nor appreciating the masterpieces of ukiyo-e from her idols. It was the last time of everything that she could do as a human. No one will recognize her talents anymore. But surprisingly that makes her sad.

Oh, well. If only it didn't happen, she could've changed her fate too far much better.

If she didn't encounter them.

Those insolent sons of guns—

"Now enough about me." You hummed and closed the notebook of yours shut. Eyes slowly went fixated over the crazy wall next to you that was covered with newspapers article and red strings. A map of Kamome Gakuen underneath all the scribbled papers surprisingly makes itself visible in your eyes.

The map showed every single inch and building in this school, whether the old nor the new one. A red circle marked itself around the area where the tower and the roof of the old school building located.

But there's one that stood out from the rest.

After spinning the cylinder item between your fingers multiple time, you eventually grinned and pulled the cap off from the red marker with your teeth, making a small 'pop' sound before circling with a red mark around the area, sighing in contentment at the thought of having a new boundary at . . .

Auditorium.

"Ahan~ My new boundary, here I come~"You chimed rather excitedly, tapping the capped marker against your chin while humming as you walking out from your boundary to the school ground, making a sharp turn and now walking down in a corridor with a paper that was scribbled with various ideas that you came up with to become a rumor, "Now, I must set a time for it to happen—"

However, you couldn't finish your sentence when your breath was caught in the between of your lungs when a palm wrapped itself against the contact around your neck skin, interrupting you from continuing the incomplete words and slammed you hard against the nearest wall in the corridor.

An eye cracked open; when you shut them while bearing the impact— to look at the owner of the hand with amusement, breaking a small entertaining laugh to see his scowl adorned on his handsome feature.

"Is this a new style of kabedon, Minamoto-san?"You sang with a hint of sarcastic in the tone of your voice, a grin finally appeared on your lips when his scowl deepened while his grip tightened.

"I found Kou passed out cold on the floor of the girls' toilet."

"Ew—"

"Silence."He seethed and you obviously obliged his words when a sharp blade suddenly was thrust against the wall right next to your head as if it was a threat. You couldn't see your own reflection, but you knew if someone touches this bare-skinned, you wouldn't be surprised if that part of skin bleeds.

The entire hallway lapsed into silence. Probably you're the only two remained in the certain school building due to the obvious fact it was 5 in the freaking morning.

"Kaichou, you just damaged the wall. That's vandalism."Your low voice broke the uncomfortable silence that filled in the air along with the tense sensation, averting your nonchalant gaze away afterwards when you felt his burning glare that could be imitating as daggers piercing through your skull.

"I see. But you should've save that for someone who cares."

He spat with a sadistic smile conquered his lips when internally, he was slightly perplexed that you didn't make any useless attempt to pry his hand off from your skin. Maybe—

"Your scowl was much intense than usual, Minamoto-san. Was it because you're in your period?"

He abruptly snapped out from his own thread of thought due to your usual sing-sang tone of voice along with the burning sensation that he felt on his forearm. His blue oceanic eyes flickered to his now covered in blood arm as he let out a hiss in pain before lifting them back up to look into your [ color ] ones.

"Oh my. It does look like you are." You smiled behind your palm. Despite it was ambiguous from his eyesight vision, he knew it fully, absolutely damn well you're smiling mockingly at him,

"Be grateful that wound wouldn't leave any scar."

"What have you done?"He growled underneath his breath while trying his best to ignore the pain, watching at how your whole face lit up.

"Glad you asked."

He then felt his eyes unconsciously moves over the item in your grasp when you lifted it upright in front of him and continue,

"I didn't use red color for nothing, Minamoto-san. If I draw a line across your skin, don't question it. This material thingy let me draw a wound and blood. However, if this red mark runs across your neck, simply said, you're dead."

You ended your sentences, withdrew such a 'dangerous' item away from the poor human boy. Watching him struggling to not let the blood staining on school uniform.

"Ho? It's so funny that I didn't found myself laughing at your harmless threat."

"Harmless? Oh, I think you've underestimated me." You chuckled lightly before your tone of voice went all serious,

"And it seems you need a good beating for you to come to your senses. I do hope I have a hammer right now."You let out a heavy sigh at the end in disappointment and hit your back against the wall behind you. There's no single word left your mouth afterwards and your eyes were kept shut close.

Only a dead silence.

He observed you right after stopping the blood from his fresh new wound. After another second of silence, he decided to speak and was intended to part his lips when you beat him to it,

"You know, Teru."

This tone was a calm one. He didn't wether the calm before the hideous storm but for sure it was a deadly one. You slowly lifted your glowing [ color ] eyes throughout the darkness of the shadow of the morning and locked with his. Your smile is nowhere in sight.

"I've been alive since millenniums, watching how this world keeps moving and getting older. Back when the darkness of night was far deeper than it is now and being called as yokai. The best ancestors of yours couldn't even get rid of me so what makes you boastly thinking that you could defeat me?"

His eyes went slightly widened before letting a half-hearted chuckle escaped past his throat and positioning his staff behind him. More like in his usual posture when he was about to slash down the supernaturals at night,

"It doesn't matter."He narrowed his eyes, hearing the black lightning crackling with the source came from his own spirit blade right behind him,

"I don't mind giving you a bad time with your sins for you to atone."

Black lightning flowing around his staff, making some lighting in the background behind his back, giving him such an eerie demeanor though you remain unfazed by his threat.

"Let's take It slow, "You taunted with a smirk at his remark while straightening up yourself, "because I'd like to see your face when I give you a hard time to try."

"Then be my guest."He hissed to the absolute dangerous supernatural, "Don't you think I will let you do as you please."

"It was an absolute pleasure of mine."Smiling, you then quickly added with eyes slides down to look over your vintage-looking pocket watch in your other palm,

"There is about an hour before people start coming to this school ground."

You soon lifted your head slightly up and cracked a small dark grin spread across your lips when the shadow casted over your eyes with glints once again, giving you such a villain vibe when you spoke once again in a tone ridiculously low that would send chills runs down to his spine if it wasn't because the confidence and fury that are engulfing him,

"Don't worry, one hour is a long time for you to wrap yourself like a mummy."

Meiji restoration like in Senbonzakura lyrics:

The Meiji Restoration (Japanese: 明治維新, Hepburn: Meiji Ishin), referred to at the time as the Honorable Restoration (御一新, Goisshin), and also known as the Meiji Renovation, Revolution, Reform, or Renewal, was an event that restored practical imperial rule to the Empire of Japan in 1868 under Emperor Meiji. Although there were ruling Emperors before the Meiji Restoration, the events restored practical abilities and consolidated the political system under the Emperor of Japan.[2] The goals of the restored government were expressed by the new Emperor in the Charter Oath.

[ Author Note ]

Yes! I do love ukiyo-e and was inspired to name supernatural due to it.

Above are some of artists that me and my brother loves along with their artworks.
