ᴀᴜʀᴏʀᴀ ᴡᴀs ᴀᴡᴀᴋᴇɴ ʙʏ ʜᴇʀ ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ, making her roll over in her bed. she rolled a little too far, falling off of her bed before she could stop herself. a groan escaped her lips as her back hit the floor. just as she was about to reach over to her phone, it stopped ringing. allison quickly peaked over the bed, seeing that her girlfriend was on the floor with a pained expression on her face.

"you okay, babe?" the huntress questioned as she rubbed her eye.

"yeah." aurora answered just as her phone started ringing again.

"you want me to get it?" allison asked, seeing that aurora was still laying on the floor.

"yes, please."

with that, allison picked aurora's phone up to see who was calling. she had seen that it was scott, quickly answering it. "hi, scott."

"oh, hi, allison. is, uh, is rori around?" aurora heard scott say, still laying on the floor.

"yeah, she's right here." allison mumbled before she handed the phone to aurora.

the hastings girl held her hand out so that allison can give her the phone. once it was in her hand, she brought it down to her ear. "hey, scotty. what's up?"

"stiles escaped eichen house." scott informed.

aurora quickly shot up from the floor, blinking as she slowly processed what scott had said. "did - did you just say that eichen house?"

"yeah. the, uh, the nogitsune got him, rori."

"how the hell -"

"malia was in there with him. she brought me an old katana and picture." scott quickly interrupted. "we don't know where he's at. but i'm gonna go talk to kira, okay?"

"why kira?" aurora questioned, scratching her head.

"cause the woman in the picture looks just like her." scott answered.

"oh, shit. well, uh, let me know what you guys find, okay?"

"will do." scott said before he hung up.

"stiles escaped?" allison asked once aurora pulled the phone away from her ear.

"yeah." aurora mumbled, plopping down on her bed. "the nogitsune got him. it got him, ally."

allison frowned slightly, moving towards aurora before she wrapped her arms around her. she knew how much stiles meant to the girl in her arms, and she could practically feel the worry that was radiating off her.

"what are we gonna do?" aurora questioned, not really expecting an answer from allison. "the scroll said to change the body of the host."

"how would we do that?" allison asked.

"me or scott would have to turn him into a werewolf. but what id that doesn't work? what - what if his body doesn't accept the bite and it kills him? it's like. . . every option we have is gonna end up with stiles dying. and he can't die." aurora said.

allison placed her head on aurora's shoulder, rubbing her arms gently. "i don't know what we're gonna do, rora. but i do know that you guys are gonna figure it out, because you and scott always figure it out."

"thanks, ally." aurora mumbled, leaning into allison. "i really hope you're right."

aurora was sitting in chris' office, eating a bowl of cereal as she waited for chris, derek, and noah to make an appearance. for whatever reason, chris and derek was charged for murder but noah had dropped them because he needed the both of them to help him with stiles. so chris called allison to put out his nonlethal weapons. it also happened to be before noon, and aurora was barely functioning.

scott had texted her earlier, telling her that him and kira have been talking to kira's parents about the nogitsune's history with kira's mother. apparently, this has all happened before.

"this is everything nonlethal i could find." allison said as she walked into the office, chris, derek, and noah following behind her.

"take all of it." chris told her, making the younger argent start stuffing the things in a bag.

"what's the plan here?" noah questioned.

"our best shot right now is for derek and rori to try and pick up stiles' scent at eichen house. especially if he went through something stressful there." chris answered.

"should all five of us be going to the same place?" noah asked.

"where else has stiles been showing up?" chris asked.

"school, the hospital." aurora answered, getting up from the chair as she put the last spoonful of cereal in her mouth.

"were you eating a bowl of cereal in my office?" chris then asked her, raising an eyebrow at the younger girl.

"i didn't spill any milk or anything." aurora mumbled before she drank the rest of the milk.

"okay, hold on." derek said, making everyone look at him. "we did this already. he disappeared. we started looking for him. then walked rightist a trap at the hospital."

"he's getting us to repeat the same moves." chris elaborated.

"so, what do we do? wait for him to come to us?" allison quizzed.

"we can't. to if the oni find him when the sun goes down." derek pointed out.

"scott's working on them right now, with kira." aurora informed.

"that's the problem. we're all trying to outfox the fox." chris said.

"listen. i'll understand if anyone wants to back out." noah told everyone.

"it wouldn't be the first wolf to run from a fox." derek mumbled.

"apparently i'm carrying the lightsaber." chris then added, holding his electric baton.

"have you ever been struck by one?" aurora asked him, remembering when chris had hit her and isaac with the baton a few weeks prior.

"dad, you and derek hit eichen house. sheriff, you, me, and rora at the hospital. we all meet in the school." allison said, grabbing the electric baton from her father.

"actually -" noah interrupted, his eyes landing on aurora. "i want rori to stay here."

"what?" aurora asked, taken aback.

"rori, your bags have bags. i know you haven't been sleeping because of these nightmares, okay? you're not at your best. you need to stay here." noah explained.

"noah, i appreciate you being worried for me. but i can't stay here and take a nap while my best friend is out there, possessed by a fox that loves riddle. he's my best friend - brother. i can't just sit here and do nothing." aurora said, looking at noah with pleading eyes. "please, noah."

the stilinski man looked down at her, a sigh. he knew how close her and his son was, remembering when he had took her in when her mother died. stiles was by her side 24/7 to make sure that she was okay or if she needed something. he remembered when his son tried his best to put a smile on aurora's face, doing the most ridiculous things. they were really close during that short period of time, and when she had came back, they were right back to the same things.

"fine." noah mumbled.

a small smile appeared on aurora's lips, "thanks."

aurora, allison, and noah had entered the elevator of the hospital. noah had pressed a floor, but aurora didn't pay attention to what. ever since she received that call from scott, her wolfy sense has been turned to 100. her stomach churned more and more as the day went on, and it wasn't because of the milk that she had with the cereal.

noah sighing is what brought the werewolf back to reality. "you know what, i don't know how you guys do it. you're all so strong. you're fearless. hell, you even manage to keep your grades up."

"i am failing econ." allison admitted, making aurora chuckle.

"is that coach's class?" noah questioned, making allison nod. "well, i'll have a talk with him. are you failing anything, rori?"

"uh, no. which is surprising since the lack of sleep makes it harder to focus on anything." aurora answered, looking down at the elevator floor.

aurora heard allison release a shaky breath from next to her, making her automatically look up to see that allison had started to cry. "hey, what's wrong, love? why are you crying?" she whispered as she looked at her with furrowed eyebrows.

aurora then watched as noah flicked a switch, making the elevator stop moving. he then looked over to the hastings girl before his eyes went to allison.

"you okay?" he questioned.

"i'm not. . . fearless." allison said, her voice barely above a whisper. "i'm ter - i'm terrified. i'm always - i'm always terrified. i. . . i act like i know what i'm doing, but i don't." her eyes then landed on aurora, a few tears slipping down her cheeks. "i didn't know if you were gonna hate me for what happened to isaac. i don't know what my dad is thinking. i don't know if we should trust derek. i don't. . . i don't know anything."

aurora quickly wrapped her arms around the shorter girl, hearing her voice crack as she explained how she felt. "it's okay, ally. it's okay. it's okay not to be strong or fearless all the time. 99% of the time i'm scared shitless with everything that we're facing. especially right now with stiles. and no one knows what's gonna happen, but like you said last night. . .  we're gonna figure it out."

"what if we can't?" allison questioned, pulling away to look aurora in the eyes.

"we will." aurora whispered, bringing her hands up to wipe the tears from allison's cheeks.

"you know what's funny?" the voice of noah appeared, making aurora look at him. "allison sounds just like a cop."

this made a chuckle escape allison's mouth, a small smile appearing on aurora's face. noah then stepped towards the girls, wrapping his arms around them as he placed his head on aurora's.

"the both of you are gonna be okay." noah reassured, making the both of them nod

"okay." allison whispered.

with that, the three of them pulled away from one another, noah going to flick the switch again so the elevator could continue moving. before he could do it though, his phone vibrated in his pocket, making him take it out.

"what's that?" allison questioned.

noah looked at the screen, aurora doing the same to see what it said. "sheone's breaking into my house." the sheriff answered. "after stiles tarted sleepwalking, i had some security precautions put in. motion sensors. cameras." he continued as he went to go look at what was going on in his house.

"that's his room, right?" aurora asked once she had seen it.

her heart then dropped once she had seen someone sitting on stiles' bed. noah made the camera zoom in, the three of them realizing that it was stiles sitting on his bed. but it wasn't actually him, it was the nogitsune. it was void stiles. they watched as void stiles looked directly into the camera, waving his fingers at it.

after they had seen void stiles on the security camera, allison quickly called her father to tell him that they needed to get to noah's house immediately. noah had flicked the switch so that the elevator would start moving again. once they got off the elevator, they rushed to the house, only to see that stiles was no longer there.

aurora looked at the chest board that was on stiles' desk, seeing that all of the pieces had been labeled with supernatural creatures. she smiled slightly, knowing that this was how stiles had told noah about the supernatural.

"what is all this? what are these sticky notes?" chris quizzed, looking atet the chessboard as well.

"this is what stiles used to try and explain to me about all of you." noah answered.

aurora's eyes landed on the queen piece, seeing that her name was attached to it. she smiled slightly, her eyes starting to water as she picked up the piece. she then noticed that the queen piece wasn't even on the board. it was besides it like isaac was.

"cool, maybe it's a message from stiles. the real stiles." allison suggested.

"you think there's any reason my name's on the king?" derek questioned.

"well, you're heavily guarded." noah answered. "though i guess the alarming detail is that you're one move from being in checkmate."

"it's not a message from stiles. it's a threat from the nogitsune." chris corrected as allison continued to look at the pieces.

"he's at the loft. that's what he's trying to tell us." she informed.

"and he wants us to come there." chris added.

"night's falling." derek pointed out.

"this couldn't sound any more like a trap." chris said.

"i don't think it is." noah said.

"i think your opinion might be slightly biased, sheriff."

"hear me out. what we're dealing with here is basically someone who lacks motive. no rhyme, no reason, right." noah reasoned.

"meaning what?" chris asked.

"our enemy is not a killer. it's a trickster. the killing is just a by-product." the sheriff explained, making aurora tilt her head slightly in agreement.

"if you're trying to say t won't kill us, i'm not feeling too confident about that." derek stepped in, making everyone look at him.

"it won't. it wants irony. it - it wants to play a trick. it wants a joke. all we need to do is come up with a new punchline."

"the sun is setting, sheriff. what do you have in mind?" chris questioned.

once noah had told them his plan, they all made their way over to derek's loft. aurora had texted scott to tell him to meet them there. aurora, allison, derek, and chris waited outside of the loft while noah slid the door open and stepped in. as he did that, aurora felt her stomach churn once again as more goosebumps appeared on her skin.

"hi, dad." stiles greeted.

"that's not him." aurora whispered to herself, making allison look at her.

noah pulled out his handcuffs, the sound of them jingling filling aurora's ears.

"you want to handcuff me?" stiles questioned.

"if my son is still here, if there's still a part of him standing here in front of me, then he'll put these on willingly and he'll come with me because he knows i'm here to protect him from himself and from others." noah said as he walked closer and closer to stiles.

aurora heard noah put the handcuffs onto stiles, her nerves creeping up her spine the longer silence went on.

"you're not my son." noah whispered.

"lets go." derek mumbled to the others just as void stiles broke the handcuffs from his wrists.

him, aurora, allison, and chris entered the loft. aurora watched as the fox in front of them looked at allison. the argent girl then raised her taser and aimed it at him, pulling the trigger so that the electric wires could fly towards him. but he quickly caught them, pulling at the wired as the electricity went up and down the wires. he then pulled the taser itself out of allison's hand.

derek growled, showing off his canines before he pushed himself forward. he went to go swing at stiles, but he blocked it before he wrapped his arm around derek's and pushed him towards the table. he then pulled him back and threw him against the wooden pillar.

the sound of a gun being caught is what caught everyone's attention, making everyone look at chris. he had a gun aimed right at stiles, making aurora's heart dropped.

"argent, listen to me. don't do this." noah tried, cautiously bring his hand up.

"why not? i've done it before." chris said. "werewolves, berserkers. i can easily add a nogitsune to the list."

that made noah quickly pull out his own gun, cocking it as he aimed it towards chris. "you're not gonna shoot my son."

"you said it yourself, sheriff. that's not your son." chris said, his gun still aimed at stiles.

"put it down." noah demanded, still aiming his gun at chris. "put it down."

"dad, he's gonna shoot me." void stiles said, making his eyes start to water. "he's gonna kill me, dad."

"don't listen." chris mumbled towards noah.

"put it down. now! do it! put it down!" noah yelled.

stiles quickly turned his head and looked at noah, immediately switch back to void. "pull the trigger. come on."

"listen to me, you put the gun down now!" noah yelled.

"shoot me." void stiles said.

"dad." allison tried.

"shoot me!" stiles yelled.

"put the gun down!" noah yelled once again.

"shoot me!"

"argent, you put it down!"

aurora tuned out the yelling that was happening between noah and the nogitsune. she closed her eyes, bringing her hands up to her hair. she then remembered what had happened in the animal clinic, what void stiles had told her and scott.

"a nogitsune feeds off chaos, strife, and pain."

"strife." aurora whispered.

before she could say anything, the light that was peaking through the big windows had disappeared, being replaced by the darkness that the night brought.

"shit." aurora hissed, turning back to look at noah and chris. "guys! stop! this is exactly what he wants!"

"not exactly." stiles said, turning to look at the hybrid. "i was kinda hoping scott would be here. but i'm glad you all have your gun out. because you're not here to kill me." he continued, turning around to face the windows.

on cue, four oni phased through the windows and stepped forward, their hands on their ninjatos so that they could pull them it out at any second.

"you're here to protect me." stiles finished before he backed away behind noah and chris.

aurora watched as the four oni unsheathed their swords. chris quickly pulled the trigger to his gun, but nothing came flying out. noah then stepped forward, pulling his trigger, bullets flying towards the oni. chris quickly pulled out another gun, firing at the oni too.

aurora quickly walked around stiles, shifting as she did so. she growled as two more oni phased in front of her, allison and derek joining her sides. allison pulled out a dagger while derek shifted, the three of them ready to fight. the oni quickly ran towards them, holding their swords over their heads.

okay, another chapter!!!! woohhhhh!!!!! this chapter is a merge of episode the fox and the wolf and like the first five minutes of de-void. the fox and the wolf was mainly based around kira's mother and the nogitsune so that's why i merged them. next chapter might be uploaded tomorrow.
