๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ซ๐, ๐ฌ๐๐จ๐ญ๐ญ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฒ hiding in the shadows of derek's loft. after everything happened at the school, they released lydia from the chair. aurora had healed the strawberry blonde's throat before they released her. the trio then quickly made their way toward's derek's loft to tell him about ms.blake since they were romantically involved.
after they had told derek about who ms.blake truly was, derek told them about what happened to cora. aurora's heart dropped as the hale man continued to tell them. her and cora never got a chance to properly talk to one another.
they heard the front door slide open, meaning ms.blake was her.
"derek!" she called. "derek! where are you?"
"right here." derek answered.
"oh, thank god."
aurora heard ms.blake's heels click across the floor until it went silent for a few seconds. aurora looked at the boys, the both of them looking back at her.
"something happened at the recital. at the school. okay, i need to tell you before you hear it, before you hear any of it from them." ms.blake said, breaking the silence.
"from her?" derek asked, pretending he didn't know.
"scott, stiles, aurora." ms.blake answered. "they're gonna tell you things. things you can't believe. you have to trust me, okay? you trust me."
"what is it?"
"promise you'll listen to me."
"i promise."
it went silent for a few seconds before thunder clapped outside, a flash of lightning making the loft light up for a second before it went dark again. it had starting storming right after the darach took noah, the storm getting worse by the minute.
"they're already here, aren't they?" ms.blake questioned.
the trio walked out from out of the shadows, approaching the two until they was about a foot away from them. ms.blake faced them, meeting aurora's eyes. the both of them glared at one another before ms.blake put her innocent act back up.
"so. . . they told you it was me? that i'm the one taking people?" she quizzed.
"we told him you're the one killing people." scott corrected.
"oh, that's right." ms.blake chuckled. "committing human sacrifices? what? cutting their throats? yeah, i probably do it on my lunch hour. that way, i can get back to teaching high school english the rest of the day. that makes perfect sense."
"where's my dad?" stiles asked as a stray tear trailed down his cheek.
"how should i know?" the english teacher shot back before she looked at derek. "derek, tell me you don't believe this."
the hale man's eyes shifted over to the three teens, "do you know what happened to stiles' father?" he asked as he looked back to ms.blake.
"no." she answered, shaking her head.
"ask her why she almost killed lydia." aurora suggested, her eyes throwing daggers at the older woman.
"lydia martin? i don't know anything about that." ms.blake defended quickly.
"what do you know?" derek asked.
"i know that these kids, for whatever misguided reason, are filling your head with an absurd story. and one they can't prove, by the way." ms.blake answered.
aurora tilted her head slightly, a small smile appearing on her lips. "what if we can?" she asked as she held up a jar with ground up mistletoe in it.
she watched as ms.blake's demeanor faltered, "what is that?"
"our boss told us it's a poison and a cure. . ." aurora began, stepping forward as she started to untwist the cap. "which means you can use it. . ." she continued, taking the cap off. "and it can be used against you."
"mistletoe?" ms.blake asked, her tone dark.
instead of giving a verbal answer, aurora pushed her hand out towards the woman. this made the powder fly out of the small jar, flying towards her. once the powder hit ms.blake, it surrounded her like a cloud. everyone watched as ms.blake's form switched from the darach and back to human a few times, screams leaving her lips.
once the cloud of mistletoe cleared out, ms.blake went back to her human form, breathing heavily. she stayed still as her eyes fell to the ground. she then tried to run to the door, but derek grabbed her by the throat and pulled her back.
"derek, wait! wait!" she cried.
the alpha wolf ignored her, flicking his other hand so that his claws could extend.
"you need me." ms.blake tried.
"what are you?" derek asked.
"the only person who can save your sister." she answered, making derek's grip around her throat tighten. "call peter. call him!"
derek did as told, pulling out his phone as he kept his hold on her. he dialed peter's number, it ringing for a few seconds before he picked up. "how's cora doing?" he asked, glaring at ms.blake.
"she's not doing good." peter answered on the other end, aurora feeling her heart drop at those words. "she's in and out of consciousness. she's vomiting up black blood along with one other alarming substance."
"mistletoe." derek elaborated.
"how did you know that?" peter questioned.
instead of answering, derek hung up. he then started to tighten his grip around ms.blake's throat, his eyes shooting lasers through her face. the english teacher gasped as her throat started to close, reaching up to grab at derek's hand.
"derek." scott called. "derek, what are you doing?"
"her life -" ms.blake started, cutting herself off with a gasp. "it's in my hands!"
aurora, stiles, and scott watched as derek picked her up by the throat, his hold on her getting tighter and tighter. aurora knew that he was angry, but if what she said about cora was true, them they still need her.
"stop. derek, stop!" stiles tried.
"stilinski, you'll never find him." ms.blake breathed out.
"derek." aurora tried, but he didn't budge. "derek!"
the older man threw ms.blake onto the floor. she let out a grunt as she landed on the floor.
"that's right." she said as she looked up. "you need me. all of you."
aurora felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up, not liking how she said that. she had a whole other thing planned.
โถ๏ธ โ ๏ธ ๐ฆ โ ๏ธ โถ๏ธ
our favorite trio was currently in roscoe, speeding down the road behind derek and ms.blake. aurora was in the back seat, anxiously picking at her jeans. she blinked, her eyelids being heavy from lack of sleep. the hairs on the back of her neck had been standing up ever since the loft, telling her that something was gonna go wrong. regardless of how she was feeling, they needed to help cora and find noah.
"i don't know." stiles began, snapping aurora out of her thoughts. "something feels wrong about this. you know, we proved it to derek, but she still had this look like it didn't matter."
"like it was still going according to plan." aurora added, making scott turn to look at her and stiles look through the rearview mirror. "spidey sense has been going off since she said 'that's right. you need me. all of you.' the way she looked up was like. . . she had gotten her way."
"scott, you saw it, didn't you?" stiles quizzed, but the mccall boy didn't answer.
they arrived at the hospital quickly, everyone climbing out of the car. aurora let a breath escape her lips as she felt the rain fall down on her, the cold droplets cooling her hot skin. her and scott waited for stiles to join them, the freckled boy approaching them with a bat in his hand.
"what's that?" scott questioned.
"what? you two got claws. i got a bat." stiles quickly defended.
"fair point." aurora nodded, moving her soaked hair from out of her face.
the trio was joined by derek, who had a firm grip around ms.blake's arm. the group started to walk into the hospital, aurora feeling bad that they were trailing water into the building. they continued to walk through the hospital, following derek towards cora's room.
"scott! scott!" the voice of melissa called, making the group turn around. "what are you doing here? the hospital's evacuating."
"we're here for cora." he answered.
"all of you?" melissa asked before her eyes landed on stiles. "why does stiles have my bat?"
"mom, just trust me on this. you need to get out of here."
"uh, where's max?" aurora jumped in.
as if on cue, the hastings man walked into the corridor, stress written all over his features. he had walked past the group, too deep in thought. he then stopped in place before turning around to face the group, his stressed expression turning into one of confusion. "why are you all here? we're evacuating."
"we're here to get cora. but you guys have to get out of here." aurora quickly told him. the two adults heard the seriousness in her tone as well as the look on her face. "right now."
max and melissa looked at one another before they looked at the two teen wolves in front of them. "the building is supposed to be clear in 30 minutes." max informed.
"we've got two ambulances that are coming back. one's 10 minutes out, the other's 20." melissa added. "cora needs to be on one of those. they'll be picking up in the basement garage."
"got it." scott nodded.
"be safe." max told them, his eyes looking between scott and aurora before they shifted over to stiles. "all of you."
"we will." aurora promised before they started to walk towards the elevator. "you two be safe."
the group continued to walk to the elevator, not giving either of the two nurses a chance to respond. they all crowded into the elevator, derek and ms.blake being in the middle, derek still having a hole on her. scott was in the right corner, aurora was in the left corner, and stiles was standing in between them, holding the bat up.
"you don't have to keep me on a leash, derek. i'm going to help." ms.blake informed.
she then turned to look at scott, who was throwing daggers at her with his eyes. she then looked at stiles, who only tightened his grip on the bat as he stared at her. and then lastly, she looked over to aurora, who flashed her white eyes before making them go back to normal.
the english teacher turned back around to face forward. the group waited for the elevator to reach the floor that cora was on. the three teens continued to stare at ms.blake, readying themselves just in case she tried anything. the elevator came to a stop with a ding, the doors opening. they all exited the cart, the lights above them flickering as they walked down the hall. aurora had looked up at the lights, feeling her stomach churn as goosebumps appeared on her arms.
before she could say anything about that feeling appearing, she bumped right into derek, silently cursing for how hard his back was. she looked at him with furrowed eyebrows before she followed his gaze into the room that they were standing in front of. there was black blood on the floor with mistletoe in it. the hastings girl turned to look at ms.blake, seeing that she had this look on her face.
"derek." scott called, making said man look at him.
the beta wolf was looking down at the floor, both derek and aurora following his gaze to see that there was a trail of black blood leading to double doors down the hall. before any of them made a move, they heard grunting coming from the other side. and then next thing they knew, the doors busted open, peter hale sliding towards them on the floor.
"we got a problem." he told them before he looked back down the hall. "big problem."
everyone followed his gaze, seeing aiden and ethan merged together in their big wolf form. he let out a growl, lightning flashing from outside to add more of a dramatic affect.
"oh, great. it's gigantor." aurora commented sarcastically.
aurora sucked in a deep breath as she felt herself shift. she looked to see that scott and derek had shifted as well, glaring at the big alpha wolf that was down the hall. derek was the first to make a move, letting a growl escape his mouth. gigantor wolf growled back just as derek started to run towards him. he had grabbed him by the waist and started to push him forward. the merged twins quickly brought his elbow down into derek's back.
the hale man pulled back, throwing a punch at the big wolf's stomach. he then went to slash at his face, only for it to be blocked and then him to get elbowed in the face. gigantor grabbed derek by his neck before he punched him. this made scott let out a low growl before he started to make his way towards the two wolves. aurora followed, scott jumping up to run along the wall as she slid across the floor on her knees.
scott had went to slash the merged wolf, it dodging him. but aurora was able to slash him, letting her claws dig into his side as she went under his arm. he lets out a roar as he tried to hit scott, the mccall boy dodging it. aurora punched gigantor in his back, making him slowly turn around to face her. he quickly swung his arm at her, the gamma wolf not having enough time to react. she fell to the floor besides derek, letting out a grunt.
her eyes landed on cora, who was sprawled out across the floor. she was about to call for stiles to get her, but the stilinski boy was already shuffling across the floor with peter following behind him. aurora looked over to the merged twins, seeing that they were hiding scott up against a wall by his throat. she was about to get up from the floor to help, but scott quickly held out his hand to tell her to stop.
"ethan, aiden, stop!" the mccall boy tried. "you don't know what you're doing."
"all we want is her." they informed.
aurora quickly looked to where ms.blake was, seeing that she was already in the elevator with the doors closing. gigantor quickly dropped scott from his hold and ran down the hall. aurora looked towards where stiles, peter, and cora was. she felt derek grab ahold of her and pull her up from the floor. scott had shot up from the floor as well, going to pick cora up from the floor.
they turned to look towards the elevator again, seeing that the merged twins were now looking at them. they started to slowly stalk towards the group, aurora growling lowly as they got closer. if only they were separated.
"get her somewhere safe." peter demanded as he stood from the floor, starting to slowly shift into his wolf form. "i'll hold him off. hold. . . them off? it? just get her somewhere safe."
"i have a feeling that's not gonna last long." aurora mumbled, but didn't have time to do anything about it since stiles started to drag her down the hall.
derek, stiles, scott, and aurora ran into an operating room, scott firmly holding on to cora so that he wouldn't drop her.
"don't stop! don't stop!" derek yelled as they ran through the room.
stiles didn't listen, stopping in the middle of the room. this made the three werewolves stop, looking at him like he was crazy. aurora saw the way the freckled boy was eyeing the bat in his hand, knowing what he was thinking.
"stiles!" derek called as scott gently laid cora down on the floor.
the stilinski boy went to the corner of the room, holding the bat up.
"that's not gonna work, stiles." aurora warned.
gigantor rushed into the operating room, not seeing stiles in the corner. the spastic boy stepped forward before he swung the bat across the big wolf's head, making it shatter right on the spot.
"told you." aurora mumbled as stiles made his way over towards them.
aurora, derek, and scott all glared at gigantor as he moved closer towards them. they didn't have time to be dealing with vultron. scott looked up at the ceiling, looking at the light. he quickly jumped up and pulled down at the light, making it swing downward and hit gigantor.
aurora quickly picked cora up from the floor, walking down the hall as everyone else followed her. she really hoped that cora would make it. she would heal her, but this wasn't an illness or a physical wound. she didn't know what it was. and that worried her. as they walked down the hall, the lights went off.
the three werewolves quickly shifted as the backup generators powered up, low lights dimming the halls. at some point, peter had joined them, quickly taking cora out of aurora's hands before he started running down the hall. everyone followed him into another operating room, derek shutting the doors behind them.
"where's the big guy?" peter questioned.
"i thought you was gonna hold him off." aurora commented as she moved towards the other pair of doors on the opposite side of the room.
"he's close." derek answered, everyone ignoring the gamma's comment.
"what about ms.blake?" stiles asked, looking to his two friends. aurora didn't know he was looking as she stared through the windows of the double doors. but scott shook his head. "what do you mean? what does that mean? like, she's gone? scott, are you kidding me?"
"don't blame him, stiles. we were fighting the fucking wonder twins!" aurora quickly defended, turning to look at him.
"quiet!" derek hushed.
"me, be quiet? me, huh? are you telling me what to do now?" stiles quizzed as he stepped towards derek. "when your psychotic mass murdering girlfriend -the second one you've dated, by the way - has got my dad somewhere, tied up, waiting to be ritually sacrificed?"
"stiles, they're still out there." scott told his best friend.
"and - and they want her, right? which means now we don't have her either, so my dad and cora are both dead!" stiles yelled.
"not yet." aurora said, making him look at her. she then moved over to where peter was, hovering over his niece. "is - is she really dying?"
"she's definitely not getting any better." peter answered.
"there has to be something that we can do. we have to help her." scott said before his eyes landed on aurora. "didn't deaton teach you how to take illnesses away?"
"this isn't an illness, scott. she doesn't even have a physical wound for me to heal." aurora informed. "there has to be another way."
they all heard doors open, turning towards the pair that aurora had been previously standing in front of. ms.blake was standing in the doorway, "there is. but only i can do it. i can save her, and i can tell you where sheriff stilinski is. but there is a pack of alphas in this hospital who want me dead. so i'll help you. . . but only when i'm out of here and safe. only then."
derek charged at her, scott and aurora grabbing him so that he wouldn't hurt her. even if she deserved every inch of pain that's coming towards her. aurora wanted to let him go at her, but they needed her to help cora.
"dere, wait!" scott told him.
"she was trying to get out." derek reasoned.
"i was trying to keep from getting killed. you can't blame me for that." ms.blake defended.
"actually, we can." aurora said, letting go of derek. ms.blake glared at. "you deserve everything that's coming to you, voldemort." she finished, making scott hit her gently.
"if you want to show you're one of the good guys, then heal her." stiles demanded, pointing to cora.
"not until i'm safe." ms.blake shook her head.
"i'd like to volunteer a different method of persuasion. let's torture her." peter suggests.
"works for me." derek agreed, slapping aurora and scott's hands away.
"as much as i'd like to see that, we can't, derek. cora is more important." aurora told the hale man.
before anyone else could say anything, the p.a. system squeaks above them, making everyone look up.
"um, can i have your attention?" the voice of melissa spoke, aurora feeling her heart drop as she looked over to scott. "mr.deucalion - excuse me, just deucalion - requests you bring the woman calling herself jennifer blake to the e.r. reception."
"if you do this. . ." the voice of max spoke, making aurora's head shoot up as her world started to slowly collapse. "and everyone else can leave. you - you have ten minutes."
aurora and scott looked at one another before they turned to look at ms.blake. aurora's heart was thumping against her ribcage as she started to go into a slight panic. her grip on derek disappeared as her hand dropped.
"he's not gonna hurt them." ms.blake tried.
"shut up!" derek and aurora scolded.
"he won't!" ms.blake reassured. "they want the both of you. the both of you know why. tell them it's true."
"what does she mean?" derek asked, looking between the two teen wolves.
aurora, not really having any idea what ms.blake was talking about, shrugged her shoulders. scott on the other hand, knew what ms.blake was talking about.
"you're not the only one he wants in his pack." ms.blake informed. "deucalion doesn't just want an alpha pack. he wants perfection. that means adding the rarest of alpha to his ranks."
"a true alpha." peter elaborated, making everyone look at him.
"what's that?" stiles questioned.
"the kind that doesn't have to steal his power from another. one that can rise by the force of his own will. our little scott." peter answered.
"okay - okay." aurora spoke up, everyone turning to her. the gamma wolf looked at ms.blake. "what does he want with me? i - i'm not an alpha. gammas can't turn into alphas."
ms.blake simply smiled at the teenage girl, having a knowing look on her face. "gammas also can't heal illnesses. only physical wounds. you're not like all the past gammas, aurora. you're breaking the laws of the supernatural."
confusion appeared on aurora's features. she knew that she wasn't like other gammas before her, but could she actually become an alpha?
"it doesn't matter." scott shook his head. "we still need to get her out of here."
"scott, your mom -" stiles tried.
"my mom said there's one more ambulance in 20 minutes." scott interrupted. "and i don't think we've been here that long, so if we can get down to the garage, get to the last ambulance, we can get out of here."
"the twins aren't gonna let us just walk out." peter pointed out.
"i'll distract them." scott said.
"you mean fight them." derek corrected.
"whatever i have to do." scott said.
"i'll help you." derek told him.
"um, i'm sorry, but i'm not going anywhere without you, derek." ms.blake jumped in.
"i'll do it." peter said. "but i'd prefer to be out there with an advantage."
"advantage like what? you mean like a weapon?" stiles quizzed.
"something better than a baseball bat." peter teased.
everyone started to look around the operating room to find something that would help peter. aurora looked at them like they were crazy. how could they just be okay with leaving max and melissa in the hands of deucalion and kali?
"i'm sorry, are we just gonna forget about the fact that max and melissa are being held captive by the blind bandit and lady deathstrike?" she asked, making stiles turn around.
"is now really the time to be making x-men references?" peter questioned as he continued to dig through a drawer.
"all i'm saying is that we can't leave them with the two crazy alphas." aurora defended.
"they're not gonna hurt them, rori. not if they want us in their pack, okay?" scott reassured. "they're gonna be okay. max is gonna be okay."
the hastings girl let out a huff before she started to look through drawers. she couldn't shake the feeling of her spidey sense as she dug through drawers. she hoped that it had nothing to do with melissa or max.
"hey, wait. what about these?" stiles asked, making everyone turn to see that he was holding pads that were connected to defibrillator.
"do you know how to use those?" derek questioned, looking at the stilinski boy like he was his mother.
"well, no."
"put 'em down."
stiles did as told, going back to rummaging through a cabinet full of materials for surgery.
"epinephrine?" scott asked, making everyone turn to him.
"woah." aurora mumbled as her eyes landed on the big syringe in scott's hand, as well as the long needle attached to it.
"that's only gonna make him stronger." derek informed.
"how strong?" peter questioned
"like. . . crazy strong." aurora answered.
"then that'll work." peter nodded.
aurora grabbed the syringe from scott, a small smile appearing on her lips. "hold him still." she told scott and derek.
"uh, can one of you do it? i don't exactly trust our white eyed princess." peter pleaded, referring to aurora's whites eyes when she was in her wolf form. scott and derek didn't answer. instead they just grabbed his arms and held him in place. "wait, no! i really don't trust her!"
"this won't hurt, peter." aurora promised. "well, it might. but think of it as payback for putting us through hell."
"aurora." he tried.
the gamma wolf rushed towards the older man, grabbing him by his shoulder before she plunged the needle into his chest. he let out a scream, but aurora ignored him as she pushed the epinephrine into his body. scott and derek let him go as aurora backed away. peter started to walk towards the doors with the syringe still in his chest. scott followed him, slowly starting to change.
stiles and aurora opened the doors behind them, looking out the make sure that scott and peter were keeping the twins distracted. aurora gestures for derek and ms.blake to leave, which they do. derek quickly picks up cora before he leaves the room, running towards the staircase with ms.blake right behind him. stiles and aurora follows them, the group running down the stairs and going to the garage that was in the basement.
stiles had managed to get in front of derek, pushing the doors open to reveal that the ambulance was still parked. "it's still here."
aurora ran towards the ambulance, opening the doors before she climbed in. she helped derek put cora on the gurney, her heart breaking slightly at the sight of the young hale. she was really pale, sweat dotting along her hairline.
"derek, aurora. over here." ms.blake called, making the two werewolves look at one another.
"stay here." aurora told stiles, the spastic boy nodding as he sat down.
aurora and derek walked over to ms.blake, seeing that she was looking at something. they followed her gaze to see a that the paramedic who had driven the ambulance was on the ground, dead. aurora noticed the bloody footprints that was going around the ambulance.
"julia." the familiar voice of kali called.
"oh, great." aurora mumbled.
the sound of nails clicking against the ground made everyone look up to see kali standing there, the keys to the ambulance hanging from her finger. "it is you."
aurora looked over to where stiles was peaking his head through, gesturing with her hands to close the doors. the stilinski boy did as told, looking at aurora through the window.
"you two can't beat her by yourselves." ms.blake told derek and aurora.
"that's why we're gonna run." derek said.
aurora had a different idea. she wanted to stay and fight the alpha wolf. she wanted to get revenge for what she did to boyd. derek already knew what she was thinking, making him grab ahold of her arm as he started to back away. aurora didn't move though, she stood in place.
"aw, is the gamma still upset about her friend?" kali teased, making the hastings girl growl lowly.
"rori, let's go." derek demanded, still pulling her. "she'll get what's coming. but you can't take her by yourself."
aurora let out a huff before she turned around and ran with derek. she heard kali growl, but didn't see her behind them as they ran back inside. derek and aurora was gonna continued to run down the hall, but ms.blake stopped them.
"wait, wait! the elevator!"she yelled.
aurora looked down the hall to see that kali was making her way towards them. "derek, go!"
"rori -"
"she won't do nothing if you're not with her. just go!" aurora urged. "i'll be okay!"
derek nodded, running into the elevator with ms.blake. aurora turned back around just as kali swung her leg at her. aurora quickly dropped to the floor before she did a kip-up. she wanted to fight the alpha so bad, but she knew that derek was right. she wouldn't be able to beat her. she checked behind her to make sure that the elevator doors was closed, and they were, which meant that derek and ms.blake got away.
the hastings girl turned back to kali, who was glaring at her with her crimson eyes. aurora flashed her white eyes at the older woman, which made her release a snicker.
"is that supposed to intimidate me?" kali questioned.
aurora shrugged, moving quickly so that she could grab the gurney that was next to her and push it towards the alpha. as kali pushed the gurney aside, aurora quickly picked up the chair that was on the side, putting it over her head before she threw it straight at kali. a smile had ghosted her lips for a few seconds, seeing the chair hit kali. aurora quickly ran into the staircase and headed up to the second floor. just as she left the staircase she bumped into someone, making her groan.
she looked up to see that it was scott. "oh, thank god." she mumbled, pulling the taller boy into a hug. "where's peter?"
"he's in the ambulance with stiles and cora." scott answered, pulling away. "i was on my way to derek and jennifer. they're stuck in the elevator between floors. and then after, i was gonna get my mom and max."
"great, i'll come with you." aurora nodded.
the two was about to make a move, but they heard a noise. they froze, using their hearing to listen out for any other noises. aurora pushed scott out of the way just as a big hand was heading towards his head. she looked up to see that it was gigantor, watching as he swung his arm at scott again. the mccall boy dodged it, but he was quickly pushed against the wall. the merged twins then grabbed him and threw him into some shelves.
they then turned to aurora, grabbing her by the throat, picking her up and pushing her into the wall. "where is she? we're trying not to hurt you!"
"i think -" aurora started, trying to gasp for breath as he throat started to close. "i think we have two different definitions of the word 'try.'"
"hey!" the voice of melissa called, making gigantor drop aurora. "we'd like to try something."
max quickly turned the defibrillator on, hearing it power up. melissa quickly pushed the pads that was connected to the machine into vultron wolf, making him jolt from the electricity. they continued to jolt, separating as they fell to the floor.
max left the machine and ran over to aurora, who was coughing. "hey, you alright, kiddo?" he asked, concern laced in his tone. he pulled his niece from the floor, stepping over the twins who were still jolting.
"sweetheart, get up!" melissa told her son as she put the pads down. she stuck out her hand for scott to take, the mccall boy using it to pull himself up.
they quickly walked away from the twins, walking down the hall. they continued to walk for awhile, wanting to make sure that they were far enough from the twins before they started talking.
"not that i'm not glad that you two are okay, but how did you guys get away from deucalion?" aurora asked, feeling max's grip on her tighten.
"he just let us go, said it was a gesture of goodwill. no other reason." melissa answered as they walked through a pair of doors.
scott and aurora looked at each other, knowing that there was definitely another reason to deucalion setting the two nurses free.
"he had to have a reason. i don't think he does anything without a reason." scott informed.
"well, if that means i should continue to be profoundly terrified, then don't worry about it. i got that covered. " max commented sarcastically.
aurora quickly stuck her hand out in front of max and melissa, hearing a gun click. she looked at scott, the mccall boy hearing it as well. aurora was the first to step forward, scott following her as they started to slowly walk towards the corner. when they turned it, they saw chris, isaac, and allison standing there, chris aiming the gun straight at the hastings girl.
"this doesn't even phase me, anymore." aurora mumbled as she looked at the pistol in chris' hand. her eyes then landed on allison, feeling all of her worries melt away for just a few seconds.
the argent girl stepped around her father and pulled her girlfriend in for a hug, the both of them melting into it. "you look like shit." she mumbeled into aurora's shoulder.
the taller girl let out a dry chuckle. "i feel like shit too."
"that - that was adorable." max commented, making the two girls pull away from one another. "sorry, didn't mean to ruin the moment."
"uh, where is everyone else? where's derek?" isaac quizzed.
"that's where we were just heading." aurora answered as her and scott started to walk down the hall again, everyone else following. "deucalion cut the power to the building off while derek and ms.blake was in the elevator."
"so then they're essentially trapped?" chris asked.
"yeah, right." scott nodded as they walked into another operating room.
"there's no way of getting them out without turning the power back on." isaac concluded.
"but, wait, wait." melissa interrupted, making everyone turn to her. if the powers back on, they're gonna hear the elevator moving, right?"
"and they'll be on jennifer and derek as soon as it stops." scott adds. "we can't get into a fight with them."
"you've got us now." chris told them, looking at his daughter.
"it's too much to risk." aurora shook her head, looking at allison as well. "they want her dad, and if she dies, we won't be able to help noah or cora."
"i don't even think i know which teacher this is." chris said.
"she - she's the one with the brown hair. she's kinda hot." isaac told him, making everyone turn to look at him like he was crazy. "no, it's just - just an observation."
"i've got an idea." allison informed, looking at herself in the mirror that was on the wall.
aurora followed her gaze, seeing their reflections. allison looked perfect - as always, but aurora looked like she had been through hell. "i already know i'm not gonna like this plan." she mumbled as she combed her fingers through her wild hair.
"you're right." allison confirmed, kissing her cheek.

"it's a good plan, but i still don't like it." aurora mumbled as her and scott made their way towards the basement.
they had told derek to go back down instead of going up so that they wouldn't come in contact with any of the alphas. the lights had just been turned on, meaning that melissa had reached the generator to turn it on. they could hear gunshots going off as they past the ground level, but ignored it, knowing that it was just chris and allison.
they ran out of the staircase and towards the elevator, stopping once they had seen derek laying on the elevator floor, unconscious. they looked around, seeing that ms.blake was nowhere to be seen. aurora then looked up, her eyes landing on the open hatch that was in the ceiling. she nudged scott, making the mccall boy follow her gaze.
"mom." scott mumbled before he ran into another staircase, aurora following him.
"wait! rori! scott!" they heard stiles yell as he ran through the hall to try to catch up with them.
scott was way ahead of aurora, the girl practically smelling the fear and panic that was wafting off of him. she was also panicking, hoping that ms.blake - the darach didn't get to melissa. the woman who was like a second mother to her. the woman who would babysit her when she was younger. she had to be okay. she just had to.
once they reached the roof, they look around, seeing no sign of melissa.
"mom! mom!" scott called out.
"they're gone." the voice of deucalion informed as he came out from behind one of the generators. "along with dear uncle maxwell."
aurora felt her heart drop. how could max have gotten taken? he had gone outside with chris. but the shooting. . . chris was distracted. "but - but -"
"guardians, guys." deucalion interrupted. "if you two were with me, i could've told you what it meant. i could've warned you. let me help the both of you. let's help each other. you two help me catch her, and i'll help you get your mother, your uncle, and stiles' father back."
neither one of the teen wolves made a move, feeling broken with the knowledge that they had gotten it wrong. that melissa and max were now gone. that they didn't have a way to help cora or find noah. that they had failed.
but then scott stepped forward.
"scott -" aurora tried.
"i'll go. you stay and protect them, rori." scott told her as he continued to walk towards deucalion.
"no. no, don't go." aurora begged, her vision blurring as tears pooled in her eyes.
"scott." stiles called, stepping next to aurora. "scott, don't do this. don't go with him."
"i don't know what else to do." scott told them truthfully.
"no, there's got - scott, there's gotta be something else, okay? we always - we always have a plan b." stiles tried.
"we can come up with something else, scotty." aurora added, not being able to stop herself as the old nickname slipped out of her mouth.
scott slowly turned towards his best friends, shaking his head. "not this time." he told them before he turned back around.
"scott." stiles called again.
the mccall boy turned back towards them, trying to ignore the broken looks on their faces. "i'm gonna find your dad, and i'm gonna find your uncle. i promise. just - just keep them safe, rori." with that, he turned around and walked towards deaton.
"scott!" aurora called, feeling the tears slip down her cheeks.
the beta wolf ignored her as him and deucalion walked down the roof, disappearing into the fog that had appeared. aurora felt a rock appear in her throat as she started to cry, letting the tears slip down her cheeks. stiles had pulled her into a hug in an attempt to comfort the girl, but it only made her cry harder.
