Chapter five,

this is me trying, what the hell?

"Okay, Woah. Rewind a bit." Daniela began speaking, sounding shock, basically using her finger to push her glasses back, as all three of the girls were currently on FaceTime.

ย ย  "Are you deaf, or something, Dani?" Liv basically groaned through the screen, eyes glancing back at her television searching for something to watch, all while listening to Amaya rant, "Chad had driven Paloma and her back home, 'cause he wanted to make sure they'd get home safely!" She teasingly winked at Amaya. Honestly, she was rooting for them to get back together, but she also wanted her friends mental health to get back better.

"Or he felt pity for us," Amaya interrupted, flipping sheets of paper to see if she had any homework to do since they had a day off of school tomorrow, 'cause of the incident, "Come on, guys we all know Chad doesn't like me, and I made sure he'd hate me." Even more. She made sure he would hate her even more today by her yelling and reminding him on what she did, but knowing Chad, he'll never give up.

She wasn't worth fighting for.

Liv had immediately dropped her control onto her bed, "Are you kidding me, May?" She questioned friend as she had also given her a ridiculous stare, "Hates you my ass, yet practically throws daggers at dudes staring at you." She threw her hands up in the air.

ย ย  Daniela simply nodded her head, "True, true." She had mumbled out, all while taking a huge bite of her peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Amaya scoffed, "Right, 'cause who looks at their ex girlfriend of six years who confessed on cheating and being impregnated by a stranger." She exaggerated letting out a bitter chuckle, attempting to hold her tears in.

"Have you ever considered telling him the truth?" Liv questioned her worriedly, fingers tapping on her thighs, "Maybe telling him will give you a little sense of peace, you know?"

"I don't want him to know the truth," Amaya began speaking, "It's already horrible enough that I relive those memories in my sleep, that if I say that word, it means that it did happened, and I, I'm not ready." A part of her was still in denial, and she didn't want to accept it despite the moments she does accept it, but then it turning to denial, so quickly.

Liv nodded her head, keeping her lips in a straight line, "Okay. Though, when you think you're ready to speak upon it, or tell someone else, we'll be here for you. Forever." She smiled softly at her friend, all while Amaya simply smiled despite tears rolling down her eyes.

"I love you both, so much!" Amaya let out a laugh, slightly sniffling, but she truly loved her friends. She was happy that she had them by her side though this dark time, including Dewey, but for how long?

The next morning was extremely silent inside her household, sitting down in the kitchen table with her father who's arms were practically crossed on the table, coffee mug right in front of him.

"I got, uhm a call that you were attacked in the hospital yesterday by a killer in a mask?" He had raised his eyebrows, eyes glancing at his daughter with a stern look. Why the fuck was Ghostface suddenly back, again. The many encounters he had with a Ghostface back then was miraculously insane, he was surprised he lived this long.

"Yup." She practically rolled her eyes, cradling her daughter in her arms, "Since when do you care about my whereabouts?" She questioned bitterly.

"I always care about your whereabouts, Amaya." He argued back.

"Well, if you did care about my so called whereabouts, you'd fucking answer the calls when I would call you!" She called out in pure anger, perhaps if he answered her the phone a year ago this wouldn't of happened, but it did happen, and she couldn't help herself, but blame him.

ย ย  Lorenzo had immediately glared at his daughter for using such a foul language in this household, "Drop the attitude young lady, I didn't raise you to say such vulgar words." He reminded her.

ย ย  "Whatever."

ย ย  Though, before she can get up, and leave the kitchen, he continued speaking to her, "I've been searching for therapists for you to see, and I recently found one that has good reviews, and I've spoken with her on the phone, she seems nice." He spoke softly to his daughter, he really wanted her to get help. He's noticed how detached she has been from everyone, himself, and he didn't understand why.

ย ย  He just wanted to know what's wrong with his daughter.

ย ย  Amaya suddenly felt attacked, "Why are you searching for a therapist for me?" She raised her eyebrow at him, "If I'm fine, I don't need help from a therapist, what you think I'm crazy?" She argued back to him, sounding defensive. A part of her was very much offended that her father was even searching help for her, she wasn't fucking crazy!

ย ย  "No I know, but I just want you to talk with someone at least." He reassured her, "I just miss my daughter, and the way things used to be before all the lies, and whatever other secret you hold." It was so difficult for him, the entire situation. He really wanted to understand his daughters pain. Was this cause her mother left? The breakup with Chad? Pregnancy? Or, something else? He just wanted to understand his daughter.

ย ย  Amaya felt a light of sadness flicker in her eyes before it vanished, "This is me trying, but whatever. I'm going to take a ride outside, and taking Paloma with me." She stood up before twisting her head back towards her father, "Happy that I told you what I'm doing today?" She had sarcastically smiled at him before disappearing away from their kitchen, and leaving her father in the kitchen to drown in his sadness alone.

Amaya had been driving for quite some time now, blasting some soft music inside her car, and tapping her fingers on the steering wheel before her phone rang, a part of her was nervous to pick up the phone, afraid it'll be someone else on the line, but she decided to click answer anyways.

"Hello?" Amaya felt her breath hitch on the phone, waiting for the other person on the line to respond.

"Maya, it's me, Chad." He said awkwardly through the phone, "How, uhm. How are you?" He questioned her.

"I'm fine, Chad." Amaya awkwardly retorted, "Chad, why are you calling me?" Better yet why does he still have her number, I mean she still has his to look at their old messages to only later cry, 'cause her dumbass decides to read the messages.

"That's good. I, am calling because Samantha, you remember her?" He began to ramble almost sounding stupid considering that she obviously knew who Samantha was, "Of course you do, but Sam wants to show us something, but she wants everyone here." He retorted.

"Show us what, and where is here?" She questioned him. She noticed Paloma from the rear mirror, opening her eyes before quickly closing them, and hugging her giraffe stuffed animal.

"She wasn't specific, but everyone is heading over to my parents home," He answered quickly, all while she can hear Mindy shouting about something, "You remember the address to the house?" He bit his bottom lip anxiously.

Amaya sighed, "Yeah, I do. I'll see you all in a bit." She answered, and just as she was about to hang the phone up, she heard him whisper back.

ย ย  "See you soon, Maya."

๐€๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ž, here's a fuller chapter & an insight of her friendship with Dani and Liv.

Anywho, Amaya has a complicated
relationship with her dad, but it'll develop. I just wanna say just cause Chad will find out the truth soon doesn't mean they'll get together right away.

I don't wanna write Dewey's death, but I can't wait to write the relationship she has with Gale and Sidney.
