๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ’ minor concussion, revisiting old wounds

Chapter four,

minor concussion, revisiting old
wounds

โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚โ–‚

ย ย  "It's just a minor concussion," Dr. Brown had ultimately retorted after checking the board in her hand, and when she attended Amaya to see her symptoms, and how she was reacting.

ย ย  "Nothing thats to the extreme, that can cause I don't know immense bleeding?" Amaya asked worriedly, her hand gripping onto the ice pack while laying it gently to the back of her head, and attempting to ignore her stitches that were on her arms from the two slashes she received not too long ago.

ย ย  Her eyes quickly wandered towards Chad who was sitting in one of the chairs with her baby in his arms, sound asleep. That was odd considering it takes her daughter an hour to fall asleep, and was surprised that she knocked out in Chad's arms. Though, she couldn't help, but to simply frown when thoughts began to swirl around her head, that not only was she a target tonight, but so was her daughter. It was when she had realized what else was said in that phone call, he met her a year ago. What the fuck does that mean?

ย ย  She ultimately gotten interrupted when the doctor spoke to her, again, "Amaya? are you okay?" She questioned her worriedly at how she was getting zoned out for quite some time now.

"Hmm, yeah, yeah," Amaya mumbled out, eyes slightly closing just as they reopened, "I'm just really tired." She yawned out, slightly wincing in pain, that despite being given some medication for the pain, her head still felt like it was buzzing in complete pain, "Uhm, Paloma is okay, right?" She asked her for the fifth time since she was in the room.

"Yes, she's okay. You kept her safe." Doctor. Brown had easily reassured her, again. Amaya simply nodded her head accepting that statement from her, she was quite frightened that her daughter had gotten harmed from the impact, but she vividly remembers holding her daughter securely with her arms, specifically protecting her head, all while she had been the one who delivered the harsh shove against the wall from Ghostface.

"Do you have anyone who can take you both home?" She had questioned Amaya, "It's not safe for you to drive after tonight's events." She questioned in concern.

"I, uhm, I can call Dewey?" She hesitantly said, pulling out her phone and noticed that her phone was dead, "Oh, it's uhm. Dead." She simply responded, she simply exhaled in frustration.

Just as the doctor was about to pull out her cellphone, someone had ultimately decided to speak up.

"I can take them home," Chad offered, he knew this would be awkward, but he much rather watch them get back home safely and not end up harmed by a killer in a stupid mask, "I don't mind taking them home." He had quickly glanced his eyes towards Amaya who's eyes were wide, though he didn't want to move as much considering he had a baby in his arms.

"What about Mindy?"

Chad simply shrugged his shoulders, "Wes offered her a ride back home." He had kept the part where they were actually all going to the Bar, and how he wanted to stay back to speak to Amaya, yet when he was waiting for her this had happened, another Ghostface attack.

"Oh. . .Then I guess so," She breathed out.

"Then I guess it's settled kids," The doctor smiled fondly at the three, "If there are any questions, or any concerns please call or come in if it's an immediate concern." She kindly reassured Amaya, as she left the room, closing the door behind them. All while a part of her was panicking on the inside, as she also held a small blood tube from Paloma, kudos to the concern of Dewey who had asked for a DNA of Paloma. This was the only way, but this was beyond illegal to do.

The car was silent, and beyond awkward.

Amaya tapped her fingers against the passenger seat that she was sitting on, as this only brought back memories of before the incident. She remembers how she used to sit in the passengers side, all while he simply held onto her hand, bringing her hand close to his lips and kissing her knuckles, blasting music real loud with the windows rolled down, breeze hitting their face. God, she missed him so much and their late night activities.

She missed him, his goofiness. Though, most of all, she fucking misses the time when she was actually happy with her life, and even herself. Now she just can't even move past last years events because all she see's is a dirty girl. A girl who was too weak to defend herself, why'd she have to go to the library that night, and be so fucking stubborn on simply staying home that night. This was her fault, all her fault.

ย ย  A fear tears slid down her eyes, hitting her jeans all while she sniffled, averting to meet the gaze she suddenly felt that Chad was giving her, she couldn't look him in the eyes.

ย ย  "Do you remember when we'd drive around late at night, and blasting music real loud?" Chad began speaking, his eyes averting back to the road, "We'd usually end up two hours away from here, and just look at the stars." He continued, yet he kept one thing to himself, the part where'd they'd sometimes spend their night over there, and end up having sex in his backseat car.

ย ย  Amaya blinked her eyes before she quickly looked at him as he was too concentrated driving, "I remember," Amaya had simply answered, a faint smile appearing on her face, "We'd look at the stars, and sometimes count them." She mentioned.

ย ย  A chuckle escaped Chad's lips before he added the last part, "We would also have sex in the backseat of my car." He had smiled cheekily, but it faded when he noticed how the faint smile on her face slowly faded, "What? Did I say something wrong?" He questioned her worriedly.

ย ย  "I, uh no you didn't." She slightly cringed to herself before sighing, "Can we just not mention anything about sex." She questioned him visibly uncomfortable, she always avoided that word, and especially cause Paloma was in here asleep. She didn't want to speak about that.

ย ย  Chad simply nodded his head, as they were approaching to her street. He somehow got a senses of deja vu, it's been a long time since he's been in her street, and seeing her house since a year was also another sense of deja vu. The amount of sleepovers they'd have, movie nights, or him sneaking into her home late at night. He remembers it all too well, all the memories, it just made his heart clench in hurt.

ย ย  He really missed her, and was still in love with her. Though, he couldn't let her know that. She hurt him real bad, and a part of him wants to move on from her, but the other of himself doesn't even want to move on from her.

He parked his car beside her garage, and just as she was about to open the side of her car door, Chad had locked all the car doors, "What the fuck Chad!?" Amaya twisted her head to face him, her face showing sigh of annoyance. She wasn't in the mood for an argument right now.

"I just want to know something, Amaya." He began speaking, swallowing his saliva in pure nervousness before asking her the question, a question that can ultimately break his heart, "Where did we go wrong, where did I go wrong?" His voice breaking, his eyes blurring from tears that were already forming.

ย ย  Amaya simply felt her heart shatter, this damn sentence. The truth was he never went wrong in their relationship, and this was her fault. Maybe if she said the actual truth to him they wouldn't of been in this mess, but what if she had told him the truth. How would he view her? Like a broken glass, or with disgust?

ย ย  Amaya felt her eyes beginning to get blurry, "You didn't do anything wrong, Chad. It was my fault, and I take full accountability, I'm the one who remained unfaithful to you." She answered, voice breaking at this sentence. She felt like such a shitty person for saying that instead of the truth, yet having someone believe the ultimate worst was ten times better, than the actual truth.

ย ย  Chad averted his eyes from her, tears falling down his eyes before he spoke up, "Then why does it feel like your story isn't adding up," He practically retorted, he didn't necessarily call it stalking, but after him going through all the stages of the breakup. Mindy and him searched around for answers if she had went to that college party, but no one ever recalls seeing Amaya there, "Why do I believe that you're hiding something from me?" He questioned her even more.

ย ย  A flicker suddenly switched inside, Amaya, as she was getting asked these questions, "Well I'm not hiding anything, I cheated on you Chad and gotten myself pregnant." She practically yelled at him in a hushed tone not wanting to awaken Paloma, all while being defensive and hostile.

Though, Chad had noticed how defensive and hostile she had just gotten. Though, this wouldn't be the first time he had noticed this behavior from her. In school she's very hostile, but only to a certain category of people. Men.

ย ย  "It's just โ€”" He had quickly gotten interrupted by her.

ย ย  "Unlock the car door, Chad. We're done talking," She quickly retorted in pure anger, yanking the handler just as Chad unlocked all the entire car doors, so she can get Paloma out of the car with the entire car seat. Chad who had immediately gotten out his car, jogging towards her side to see if she needed help, "I got it, I don't need your fucking help!" She gritted through her teeth, eyes remaining focused on her daughter only.

ย ย  Chad simply remained a couple feet away from her, and watched her pull out the car seat, shutting the car door, a sigh escaping her lips before she shut her eyes in annoyance.

ย ย  "You can go now Chad."

ย ย  He didn't know why this slipped out his mouth, "I'm going to the bar, uhm everyone should be there, you want to go w-with me?" He questioned her, hand quickly going behind to scratch his neck awkwardly.

ย ย  "No, I just want to go inside my house and rest with Paloma," Amaya calmly told him, "But, thanks for the invite, Chad. Goodnight." She answered before continuing on her walk to her house.

ย ย  "Uh. yeah, yeah. Goodnight." He responded quietly, and watching as they entered the home safely before he stepped into his vehicle to leave off to the bar to meet his twin sister, and friends.

ย ย  What he hadn't noticed were the loud sobs that were escaping her lips when she had ultimately entered her own home, sobs of how fucked up she had truly felt.

๐€๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ž, some of this will go AU cause it's her perspective and yk she's distanced herself from her group.

So best believe that Chad hasn't given up yet.

And, I'm not ready to write Dewey dying. ๐Ÿซข Honestly, might have Amaya keep Tatums ashes and the Will that he has made.

Ngl I wasn't excepting that this book would get attention, but thank you for 1k reads <3
