CHAPTER TWELVE

▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮▮

HER SCREAMS WERE muffled, she could feel sweat budding on the bridge of her nose because of how disgusting it was. Turns out she didn't actually die, it just felt like she did.

She pushed against the arm that she could see only slightly out of her peripherals. "Would you get your hand off my face? Please?" She begged, contemplating on whether or not she should try to bite through the glove, and somehow inflict pain on the person whose hand it belonged to. The rumbling of a chuckle vibrated against her back, "Sorry baby, you know I have to stick with Mark," he whispered in her ear. And despite the quite scary position she was in, (she could possibly suffocate with his large gloves covering her face), she couldn't help but writhe and move even more in his arms as a fluttering feeling appeared in her lower stomach.

What also helped the feeling intensify was the fact that her back was against his chest, and plus she knew she wasn't in any real danger. It just kind of... pissed her off. But let's be honest, she had it coming.

"Please! Please! It wasn't even me who stole the money,"

A moment of stillness, before Ethan removed his hands from her face, dropping his arms to rest around her shoulders, still holding her close against his chest. Her already pink cheeks felt like they were burning as she looked around her surroundings. "That was quite dramatic, don't you think? You made me think I was gonna get kidnapped." She pouted at Mark, who stood in front of her with a mischievous smirk on his face. Behind him, Luke, Mackie, and Duke were rolling, having to lean on each other so they wouldn't tumble over from how hard they were laughing.

Ethan's arms tightened around her shoulders, as he leaned his chin on the top of her head.

Was this heaven? Was she in heaven? And how come Mark wasn't crucifying Ethan for how he was acting with her?

In all honesty, Mark couldn't care less about how Anastasia and Ethan were acting. Sure, he was skeptical, since he talked with both Lola and Stassie that he doesn't want his girls dating his teammates; but he was just happy that Anastasia was seemingly less hostile than she usually is. She rarely let other people besides Mark and Lola touch her, or be affectionate, so he was just proud of her for breaking out of her shell, and being so comfortable with his friends. He thought nothing of it.

Thank fucking god he couldn't read minds. Because as much as Anastasia wanted to be absolutely livid at the group of guys, the arms around her and the man who they belonged to was making her mind fuzzy, and unable to focus on why she was planning on being mad at them in the first place.

Oh wait, they basically tried to kidnap her.

"I could say the same about you, Stassie," Mark's ungloved hands came up to tickle her sides, "Please! Don't kill me! I have a better life than yours!" He mocked between his laughter, a bright smile on his face as he watched her struggle to get away from his touch, "Oh my god Mark please! Ethan let get please I don't wanna die." She was practically screaming at this point, and was surprised that the coaches haven't come up to inspect the commotion.

Mark probably pulled some fucking strings.

He did indeed, pull some strings.

He finally retreated his hands, leaning down to Anastasia, who was now on the brink of tears from how hard she was laughing, and placed a kiss on her forehead. Ethan had retracted his arms from her shoulders, and Mark was quick to pulled her into a hug, "I didn't actually scare you did I? Was that too much? I didn't mean to–" "Mark, I'm fine," she tilted her head up, so her chin was leaning on his padded chest, looking up at him. "Really, it was kinda funny. Just despite the fact that for a split second I thought I was gonna fucking die."

She loved hugging Mark, it had been her favorite thing ever since he hugged her when she won her heat at a swim meet her sophomore year. But his touch was different than Ethan's; it didn't make her stomach flutter or her heart skip a beat.

He leaned down and pressed a loving kiss on her nose, "Now Please go shower," she pulled away from his embrace and walked back over to Sofia who had a sly smirk on her face, one that Stassie could only imagine meant 'we are so texting about this later', to which she nodded at. "All of you," she gestured to the guys, all of them looking like puppies under her harsh gaze.

Mark just couldn't help but bite his cheek to stifle his laughter. Her stern tone and ability to not take shit was his favorite trait about her.

There's his girl, the one who he's been seeing slip away slowly, although he didn't know why.

They all muttered an array of 'yes ma'am's', before they shuffled into the locker room.

Stassie fucking hated how there was still a dim throbbing between her legs, as Ethan's gave her a quick smirk before he turned the corner., his cheeks dusted with pink.

A nudge on her shoulder gained her attention, "Holy fucking oh my god shit?" Sofia rambled together as excitement and shock covered her features. Anastasia shook her head, "I really thought I was gonna die, y'know. Probably the scariest moment of my life when the last thing I saw was this large ass glove coming straight towards me."
