Kai Parker was a proud father and husband. He loved his children and his wife. He lost most of this family to his psychotic older brother John. He vowed to never care for anyone or anything that weren't his older sister Jo, and his his younger twin siblings, Luke and Olivia. When Alaric told him Arabella was carrying the twins he was happy. He had already lost Liv, Luke and Jo. Ric and Arabella told him that the twins would be name after Jo and Olivia, Kai was happy because he was gonna have relatives that were alive. But this time he was gonna protect them.

Arabella weaseled her way into his heart. He didn't even see it coming. At first he was mad at himself for allowing that to happen. But after a while he was happy with it. He loved her even when she loved someone else. He waited until she was ready to date. Even when their twins were the result of a one night stand they showed them so much love. They knew they had both of their parents. They knew about how they came to be and now it's their "perfect and favorite love story" which Kai and Arabella always laugh about it,  but in a sense it really is.

Now, after sixteen years of friendship and ten of being married they're happy and still in love. Date night is their usual thing on a Friday night because family night is on a Saturday. They want to spend time with their kids and their kids want to spend time with them. Fridays are pretty usual, work, she makes dinner for the kids and makes sure they do homework and then she gets ready for the night. Most of the time Alaric stays with them since he lives there, but also the two older boys watch over them.

This date was special they were celebrating their ten year anniversary. Arabella was wearing a short black dress.

She looked hot according to Lizzie. "How is it possible that my own mother looks hotter and younger than me?" Lizzie asked and her sisters rolled their eyes but smiled. But it was true Arabella looked like she was their older sister and not their mother. "Dad is gonna faint" Aurora stated happily. They knew something that she didn't but she didn't ask. Then her sons came in.

"Mom, dad wants to know if you're ready" they stopped and stared. "That's too short, don't you think mom?" Kian asked his mother who rolled her eyes. Her sons were overprotective especially Alex and Kian. Kai thought it was funny and said that in case he wasn't there to scared away guys flirting with his wife his sons would. "No it's not. Besides it's date night for mom and dad" Artemis said, Artemis approved of the outfit. The boys rolled their eyes but nodded knowing they girls were not gonna stop and their mother was not gonna change.

"Dinner is ready. I made pasta with and some chicken salad for your sides" she told them and they got excited. Pasta and chicken salad were their favorite thing to eat. They walked with her downstairs where Kai was waiting with a bouquet of flowers. He handed them to her and she gave him a kiss. Athena took the flowers and pretty much pushed them out the door. "Okay, we love you, guys" she said to her kids. "We love you too" they yelled before closing the door.

They talked on the way to the restaurant and their regular table was set and ready for them. They had been going there since they began dating. The entire dinner they talked and laughed. "You remember when Kian set your hair on fire while learning spells?" Arabella asked Kai who couldn't even answered because he was too busy laughing.

To people their loud laughs were normal. Everyone knew that they were like best friends. Klaus and his family entered the restaurant and were instantly greeted by Arabella's sweet laugh. Klaus looked over to where the sound was coming from and saw her laughing with her husband. People smiled at the sight in front of them. Most of them knew what she was, especially the owners since their children were supernatural beings. New restaurants and places were opened in Mystic Falls because people wanted to blend in. Klaus smiled turned into a frown. He hated seeing her with someone else that was not him.

Kai looked at his wife with so much love and adoration. He loved her more than anything in the world. Arabella and her children were his life. He reached over to her and held her hand. "I love you, Arabella King-Parker" he said to her. "And I love you, Malachai Parker" she said back before kissing his hand, they both smiled at each other and in that moment it was just Kai and Arabella and no one else.

Kai had just paid the bill and the couple was heading out when Hope called out to her. "Mrs. King!" Hope called. Arabella and Kai turned to see Hope waving at her. She walked over to their table to not be rude. "Hello, Hope" she greeted the girl. "Oh! Where are my manners. Hope this is my husband, Kai. Kai this is the new student, Hope Mikaelson" she introduced them. Kai shook her hand. "Hello, Hope. How are you liking the school?" Kai asked and she nodded excitedly. "I love it!" she replied with a smile. She looked so much like her father and her mother. Arabella just smiled.

"Hello, love" Klaus said. Kai quickly turned to look at him, he was gonna insult him but stopped himself because of Hope. "Mr. Mikaelson" she replied. "Well, Hope. Enjoy your dinner. Kai and I have to go. But we'll see you on Monday. Have a good weekend" she told Hope and  family. She took her husband's hand and walked out. Kai and Arabella took a walk around town.

"I have to ask. How did you and Klaus end up together?" Kai asked Arabella and she smiled. "Klaus and I met a thousand years ago" she started. "I did not know I like older woman. But I have to admit you look good for an old woman" he said with a smirk and she rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. "His mother, Esther called upon the spirits for help. Her youngest son had just died at the hands of the werewolves. She wanted some sort of protection for her children. So I gave her the immortality spell. I didn't see them for centuries at a time. Until we found each other on 1800's. We adopted a little boy, Marcel" Kai had met Marcel and always wondered why he called her mother.

"I left briefly and met the Salvatore brothers in 1862. I stayed with them after they turned into vampires. Stefan as you know was Silas's doppelgänger. I liked him. And then over time I fell for him but left when I was needed back in New Orleans. In 1900's the Mikaelson's were running from their father. Marcel and I were left behind. We rebuilt New Orleans after Mikael's visit. Then in 2009 I returned to Mystic Falls. I found Stefan once again but he was then dating Elena Gilbert. I loved him and he loved her. When they broke up I was there and I thought maybe he could return the same feelings. He felt the same but didn't want to admit" she explained.

"Then, Klaus was there. We got closer and then we began dating. I did love him. And one day he broke my heart. He slept with a Hayley, Hope's mother. I hated him for a long time but then I realized that the past was the past and I needed to move on, for the sake of my sons. I think I had always had a thing for Klaus but never had the time to think about it. I mean we adopted Marcel together. But things didn't work out, and honestly I'm glad they didn't because I wouldn't have met you" she said with a smile. "I'm glad too" he replied before kissing her.

When they arrived home it was around 11:30. They changed and decided to watch tv. They sat on the couch and just talked to each other.

Kian and Alexander walked down the stairs. Arabella felt their presence and turned to the stairs where they were standing. "Hey, boys what's wrong?" she asked her sons but they didn't reply. "Nightmare?" Arabella's asked and they nodded. She opened her arms and they jumped in her arms. It was Kai, Kian, Arabella and Alec. She had her arms around her sons. They leaned to her. They like the warmth and peaceful feeling her mother had.

Within minutes the boys were asleep. Arabella layed them on the couch but stayed with them. They loved sleeping next to their mother. Thanks to her mother and grandfather she had this angelic aura that made anyone feel safe and happy. Kai slept on the other couch watching over his family. The King-Parker family was a family full of love, from the parents and siblings. They were a happy and loving family.
