:: LOG 03 ::

_ _ _ _ _

He was stuffing his mouth with the canned food. They weren't delicious and the texture was weird but he had to force himself to chew and swallow. He needed food to survive after all.

Eating it made him miss the meals back at home. The meals were made by his lovely wife. They were all delicious and there wasn't a meal that he didn't enjoy. Especially her legendary Kimchi fried rice. It was better than the restaurant version.

He would boast about his wife's cooking skills to his friends and relatives, embarrassing his wife.

But, it was his way of showing appreciation. He knew how hard it was to wake up every day and made meals 3 times a day, not to mention she was pregnant yet she still insisted on cooking for him. Taehyun's lips curved upward as he thought she was probably having a good rest since he was not there for her to cook. Well, unless she did not know of the news yet.

Having a second thought, Taehyun assumed she was probably panicking at home. Weeks had passed, she must be stressed. He felt guilty and regretted everything. If he did get back, he could never ask forgiveness from her. It was too much of a sin; leaving his pregnant wife to fend for herself over his mere dream.

Now, the dream has turned into a nightmare. A continuous nightmare that got worse and worse. His fate drew closer and something bad happened again as if his suffering wasn't enough.

He turned to the small circular window and frowned when he saw a round thing from afar. It got bigger and closer. His eyes widened when he realised what it was. Fear washed over him and just as he expected, the asteroid hit his capsule.

The capsule once again twirled and it flew straightforward aimlessly. Taehyun held tightly to his chair, not wanting to fall off the side or hit his head. After a few minutes of twirling, the capsule finally slowed down.

Taehyun was glad it wasn't that big of an asteroid and it wasn't a big impact. However, even the smallest impact could cause problems and it had to be the worst one of all. A small red light started flickering along with a warning beeping. Taehyun quickly checked the screen and to his horror, the oxygen level was decreasing.

He could only assume one thing, there's a leakage in the oxygen tank. The asteroid must have hit it. He yelled out loud, releasing his frustration as he hit the wall of the capsule. He held onto his face with his shaky hands. He was angry but even at that moment, he thought of her, so he hastily started the log.

The log played the third time and his beautiful face from before had turned dull. His lips were dry and his skin was pale. Eye bags were seen under his eyes as he probably hadn't slept for days. "Hi...it's uh...February 4... and help is not here yet. They should have picked up my signal by now..." He trailed his words as he sighed in frustration, closing his eyes.

"I can't last here for long... the capsule oxygen tank was hit by an asteroid yesterday and now there's a leak." He rubbed his face, groaning. "Ugh... I shouldn't have accepted this mission. I should have listened to you, Hana. If I did, I would probably still be at home enjoying your tasty kimchi fried rice."

He looked at the canned food beside him and the empty bottles. "I only had a can of food and I am out of water. I have to save up the food." He sighed. "I have to endure the hunger to survive. I have to go home. My family is waiting." He clenched his fist before tapping his finger on the chair handle.

Then, he remembered her capsule had twirled to other location. Maybe now, he could find a nearby station. He bit his lips before turning to the other screen and started typing. "Come on, come on." His eyes moved around frantically and when he was done, he chewed on his nails as he nervously waited for the result.

"No signal detected." The robotic voice of a female from the system said.

He once again typed hurriedly, trying one more time. He was persistently clinging to hope but it shattered when the result was still the same. He leaned back on the chair, devastated.

He was quiet, deep in his own thoughts and the beeping sound of the system that indicated the depleting oxygen became evident. He shut his eyes in frustration and a tear left his eye, trickling down his cheek. His teeth gritted and he later started to pant in frustration. He slammed his hand on the chair handle a few times and the screen shook before turning black.

The log ended.
