— ♥ ❝ celebrated his winning game ❞ ♥ —

|| ❝ Go Bruce! ❞ Davina Yamada cupped her small hands around her mouth as she watched her younger brother grip onto his bat before swinging missing the ball instantly.

" cmon Bruce try again! " she clapped as she nervously laughed hoping he would hit the ball this time, he didn't in fact hit the ball. She had so much faith in him as he was so pumped up for this baseball game.

She sighed under her breath until suddenly she heard a loud thunk sound, he hit the ball! She stood up quickly clapping her hands and cheering for her little brother as he ran around the baseball diamond, he shot a quick wave at her as she waved back too him.

She turned her head also giving a simple wave and a sweet smile to the boy on the opposite team, Finney Blake. He goes to her school and she's quite good friends with him. She hangs out with his sister some times, which made them get to know each other more often.

Shortly after watching Bruce and Finney give little small talk she ran out onto the baseball diamond giving her brother a high five and a side hug, " I knew you could do it! " she excitedly squealed as she patted his shoulder.

" you know you will always be my number one fan at these games " he joked around as he laughed with his sister while leaving into the parking lot, " well who else will be your number one fan? " she had her arm wrapped around his shoulder before entering a small car.

Her car wasn't the best as it was just a starter car since she just got her licences a few weeks ago, " home and then ice cream? " she softly spoke glancing over to the boy as she started her car up, it took a few try's but it finally managed to work.

" obviously " he chuckled after rolling down the window and waving goodbye to his teammates or any other random girls that would be calling his name or even waving at him in general.

" what kind of ice cream you want? " Davina tilted her head to the side as she examined all the ice cream flavours in the gas station they stood in, she didn't have much money left but she had enough to buy them some ice cream from the gas station, which she knew was good enough.

" hmm maybe that one " Bruce pointed to a cone wrapped up that was just vanilla and chocolate, " good choice " she grinned as she grabbed it for him and grabbed the same one. " twins " she questioned, " twins " he nodded.

they've been doing this same thing since they were little kids, it's always been a tradition for the two of them to go running to the gas station whenever they'd have the opportunity or whenever they had time after Bruce's games.

the two of them bought the desserts before leaving the gas station and walking back home, eating them both along the way. By the time they got home both of the ice creams were pretty much gone so they tossed them into their outside garbage bin before heading inside the house.

" I'm gonna go for a bike ride " Bruce smiled fixing his shoe lace as she gazed her eyesight over to him, " oh okay be back by supper, that's when mom gets home " she smiled sweetly before closing the door behind her little brother.

She stared out the small window next to the door as she watched him hop on his bike and begin biking down the street. She usually went with him but today she decided to stay home and get stuff ready for supper.

A couple hours later, Davina sat at the table tapping the tip of her finger against a newspaper article as she glanced her head over to the front door opening, " hi honey " her mother walked in with a bunch of groceries in her arms.

" here let me help you with that " she got up walking over to the lady struggling to close the front door behind her, " thank you dear " she spoke as her daughter grabbed most of the groceries from the ladies arms.

" anytime " she headed to the kitchen, the wood flooring creaking every step she took. There house wasn't that bad it was just more older as their parents have lived there for quite a while.

" where's Bruce? " Mrs Yamada dug through her purse as she coughed under her breath, " he should be in his room, want me to go get him for you mom? " Davina offered, " yes please your father will be home in a few minutes " Mrs Yamada kept digging through her purse.

" Bruce! " she walked up the stairs as she nearly tripped on the top one as there was a piece of wood sticking right out of the top step, she sighed before knocking on her brothers door.

" Bruce! I know your not sleeping " she crossed her arms as she had a little smirk, Bruce would always do this pretend he's sleeping so he doesn't have to come downstairs and help put the groceries away that mom buys.

" alright I'm coming in! " she giggled before opening the door walking over to the bed to realize that it was empty, " Bruce? " her eyebrows furrowed confused as she glanced around the bedroom, she opened his closet too. But no Bruce was to be seen.

She rushed downstairs as she glanced around the kitchen looking for her mother, " mom bruce is gone! " she sprinted around until she found her mother in the laundry room. " what do you mean gone? " she squinted her eyes confused.

" I mean like he's not in his room, he went on a bike ride like hours ago and I told him to be back and he's not here " she crossed her arms feeling like something was wrong today. Something awful must have happened.

" we'll give him until tonight okay? " her mother sounded worried but also remained calm for her oldest child that stood in front of her almost shivering from the fear she had in her mind.

She nodded her head before walking over to the kitchen and helping put all the groceries away.

A couple hours later it was supper time, Bruce was still nowhere to be in sight as Davina kept glancing over at the empty dining chair that sat next to her. She had barely touched her food on her plate as her parents had both finished their food, " cmon Davina eat some more " her father tilted his head.

" I'm not that hungry " she softly spoke avoiding eye contact as she just stared down at her mashed potatoes, that was until she stood up. " instead of sitting here like sitting ducks, let's go to the police station! " she nibbled her bottom lip her finger tips tapping the table.

" okay, I think she's right. He's been gone for too long and this is unlike him " Mrs Yamada stood up grabbing her purse along with her car keys and jacket before opening the front door.

Her right leg bounced as she was impatient and having a lot of thoughts about what could have happened to her baby brother, " Yamada family you may come in now " a police walked out as the whole family entered the room.

" my brothers missing " she sat at the end of the desk that was placed neatly in the middle of the room, " how long has he been missing for? " they stared at Davina more interested in the topic.

" since almost this morning, his names Bruce Yamada, the last thing he was wearing was a short sleeve green kait top with stripes, denim pants and sneakers."
she felt a lump in her throat, she never thought she'd have to give someone any kind of information about her brother until now.

" just please, help us find my brother " she shook her head slowly holding back tears, she knew it was getting real when he took his walkie talkie out and dispatched some people on a search.

she left the police station as her parents had left a little early unable to stand in the room anymore after having to deal with the loss of their youngest child, Davina knew she had to stay back longer then them in order to get her brother back.

She wiped her sleeve under her eye bags as she sobbed walking down the sidewalk, her little sunshine, her little baseball star was gone.
