"Ouch!" Victor said, "My back..." he groaned. Victor looked up to the girl, expecting him to help him up but instead she just stood there.

"What're you doing here?" Iris asked, squinting her eyes in suspicion.

"I can ask you the same question," Victor stood up by himself. "shouldn't you be hiding under your sheets scared of the dark?" Victor asked.

"Shouldn't you have been burned when you stepped in the sun?" Iris asked.

"Fair." Victor smirked, leaning next to her as she just gave him a weird look. "Not a fan of vampires, huh?"

"Not really..." Iris mumbled, her eyes analyzing him. She had always been taught to keep her guard up, especially around vampires, especially around the soon to be leader. "Seriously, what're you doing here?"

"Looking for blood." Victor smirked as she raised an eyebrow, "Tough crowd." Victor then raised an eyebrow, "A daywalker in the moon? Get the cameras ready."

"You're a special one." Victor said, mockingly.

Being called a "special one." in Sunnyside was not good, other than being a leader or leader to be. It was usually a term to be mean. "So are you." she spoke, her voice bitter. "Are we sure you're related to your family? Because i'm not getting leader vibes." she replied.

Victor tensed, his fist clenching. "And are we sure you're a daywalker? I'm getting major evil vampire vibes." he argued back, sarcastically dissing his kind, referencing the stereotypes.

"Oh, you shouldn't be talking about evil, Dracula. From what I hear—"

"Yeah from what you hear, from who?" Victor started, "Commander Bright? Because has he ever seen a vampire in his life before a day ago?" Victor asked.

"You're such a hypocrite! You came in here first with the daywalker stereotype!" Iris scoffed, remarking what his first sentence had been.

"Yeah, but I don't hate daywalkers," Victor stated, Iris immediately furrowing her eyebrows...Was this a trick or..."But you're make it really hard to love them."

Iris opened her mouth to talk, but he turned around. "Save it, Sunshine." he had a smirk, "Till next time." he added doing a two finger salute before walking away from her.

Iris grunted, her fist tightening. She hated when other people won arguments, and he definitely won.

On the other side, she felt a bit of guilt...Had she gone too far, had he been offended? But she quickly shook it off. He was a vampire, he didn't have feelings.

Iris walked back into the cabin, immediately jumping when she saw Nova. "Sneaking out?" Nova asked, turning her head to Iris. It was like a scene straight out of a movie.

Both stayed quiet until they bursted out laughing, Iris sat on Nova's bed, "Just really wanted to see night up close." Iris informed, Nova immediately nodding.

"Gorgeous, huh?" Nova asked, looking out the window to the starry night. Iris noticed Victor still rooming in the camp from the window, her expression hardening.

"Yeah, gorgeous." she grumbled, her eyes still fixed on Victor.

Nova turned to Victor, her expression confused at her best friend's annoyed face. "How do you know him?" Iris asked Nova, her head titling. She remembered earlier, at the orchard then when they first got to camp.

"Remember my visions- Well, my dreams." Nova asked, Iris nodding to make her go on. "I told you about that boy, it's him."

Iris jaw dropped. "Him? Nova, that's a nightmare not a dream."

Nova laughed, "Why do you hate him so much?" Nova asked, titling her head.

Iris sighed, she did feel like if she had been nicer just maybe she wouldn't be so pissed right now. But now, she wouldn't go far to say she despised him, but she definitely disliked him. "He's annoying." she simply shrugged.

Part of her wanted to say, "And he's annoyingly very good at comebacks." but she bit her cheek.

"Okay, sure." Nova smiled, "But opposites attract." her smile widened, as she looked at Iris who face was filled with utter disgust.

Iris hit Nova gently with a pillow, "Don't say that!" she gasped, shaking her head. "Wow, my best friend shipping me with that...?" she shook her head, sarcastically.

Nova laughed, Iris smiled. "I'm gonna go to bed." Iris told her.

"Wait," Nova spoke, Iris turning around. "can we have a sleepover? Like the old days?" Nova asked, with puppy eyes.

Iris thought for a second, "Fine, but rules are 1.) We sleep in my bed, because Ray," she pointed to Ray, who had the bed next to Nova. "snores, and a lot. 2.) Don't hog the blanket, okay?"

Nova nodded, standing up. Getting in her bed. Nova and Iris immediately started talking again.
