๐ผuinn guides Cassie's car into the garage, waiting by the entrance to watch her exit the vehicle and stretch her arms over her head before turning her face and catching his eye with a wide smile.
"There you are", he grins as she hurries over, throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him close.
He breathes in her floral scent, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight to him.
"Your hair looks great", she comments pulling her head back and gently running her hands through his hair with a slight concentration.
He holds his breath, trying not to react to the feel of her fingers softly touching the back of his neck.
She tilts her head and turns her glance to him, smiling quietly.
He looks into her dark brown eyes, hands still secured into the curve of her waist and mind running wild with the possibility of what could happen if she just leaned a little forward and he stopped thinking for a second.
He wants to let go so, so bad.
His gaze drops to her mouth only for her to step back nonchalantly and open up her trunk, unloading her bags.
He stands there for a second, unblinking.
She looks over her shoulder, "Lead the way".
Quinn clears his throat, coming back to his senses.
God, get it together.
He ushers her out of the garage, snatching the bag from her grip as soon as she's walking next to him and she laughs entering the house with him leading the way.
"I'll put your bags in your room. Go see Trevor and Maddie".
"Love you", she affectionately pinches his cheek and her touch lingers long after he's placed the bags in the spare room and is now ready to go downstairs when he sees Luke sulking in the hallway moving to go back into his shared room with Ethan.
"You alright?".
Luke rolls his eyes.
"Just threw up. Now I'm going to go cry myself to sleep".
Quinn raises a brow, "Or you could come see Cassie. She's here".
A knowing smirk spreads across his youngest brother's face, one which Quinn does not like at all.
"That's why you're smiling so much".
"Of course, I'm smiling. My best friend is here".
"Whatever you say, bro", Luke pats his shoulder and goes to grab his room's doorknob when Quinn's words make him freeze.
"Don't you think it's odd how . . . . close Jack seems to June this summer?".
Suspiciously, Luke looks back with narrowed eyes.
"What?".
"I'm just saying".
"They've always been close".
"Like they are now?".
The youngest Hughes scowls, leaning against the door.
"What the fuck are you saying?".
Quinn shrugs, realising then just how oblivious his baby brother is.
"Nothing. Forget about it".
When Luke doesn't respond, he goes for the stairs hoping Luke will either see what's right in front of him and be an adult about it or avoid the obvious and throw a tantrum later.
He has a feeling it will be the latter.
