81. breach

"Where are we at?" I asked, entering the room with two plates of food in my hand. I set one down, sliding it across to Raven as she examined the map of Mount Weather.

Letting out an exasperate sigh, she picked up a piece of food, shoving it into her mouth, "Bellamy knows that Octavia is in Tondc" she mumbled.

I dropped my head slightly, "How did he find out?" I asked, knowing that Bellamy will now be completely distracted. I had faith that he could still get the job done, his mind would just be elsewhere.

A sheepish grin adorned her face, "I kind of told him..."

I playfully rolled my eyes as I took a bite of my dinner, "He'll still get it done." I promised, trying to ease Raven's guilt.

Raven nodded, "He had just finished talking to President- sorry ex-President Wallace the last I spoke to him. He gave Bellamy some coordinates on how to buy our friends some more time."

I felt worry flood my body, still not fully trusting Wallace. I knew that Cage had imprisoned his father, taking control of the Mountain, but that didn't mean that he was to be trusted.

"And how is he going to do that?" I asked, pushing my plate away from me, no longer hungry.

Raven smirked slightly, "Containment breach."

Five minutes later, Bellamy's voice came through the radio, "Okay," he panted, "I'm here."

I perked up as Raven took hold of the radio, "What do you see?"

Bellamy was quiet for a moment, presumably looking at his surroundings, "There's a control panel." he finally announced.

I nervously chewed at my fingernails as Raven responded, telling Bellamy exactly what to do in terms of what wires to pull and what ones to leave alone, "You have to pull the outside air in to reverse the air filtration system."

Bellamy let out a sigh, the sound of wires being tugged filled the radio, "How do we even know if it's working?"

He barely had the words out of his mouth when a loud alarm began blaring from his end of the radio, the automated voice saying the words we all wanted to hear, "Containment breach."

Raven and I shared a grin as she lifted the radio, "I'd say it's working."

"Thank you, Mr. President." Bellamy muttered.

A huge smile spread onto my face at the prospect of our friends potentially breaking free from the prison they were being held in. I knew this was only the start of getting them completely out of the mountain, but it was a start.

A similar expression covered Raven's face, she pulled me into a quick hug, "He did it." she whispered.

I nodded, "Now he just has to stay alive long enough to get everything else done." It was a grim statement- but it was true.

Raven let out a sigh, "Yeah, well on that happy note, I'm going to go get a couple hours of sleep...can you watch the radio?"

"Of course," I answered, taking the speaker from her hand, "Don't worry, I've got it covered."

I knew that she had barely been sleeping since Finn, truth be told neither had I. But now that she had accomplished one of the tasks on her long list of jobs, as given by Clarke, I was glad Raven was taking some time to rest.

Once she was gone, I lifted the radio to my lips, "Bell, it's me." I mumbled, my eyes already scanning the map of Mount Weather, trying to devise a plan on how to get our friends off of level 5.

"I'm here," he mumbled, sounding like he was already on the move.

I sat down on one of the stools, "What's you plan now?" I questioned. More than anything I wished that this was all already over, that I would get to see him within a matter of hours, but I knew that wasn't a reality.

Bellamy's voice came through immediately, "I'm going to meet back up with Maya, try to figure out a way to get them off of floor 5."

I nodded, looking at the board in front of me, "I'm working on that on our end too. Keep me updated okay? Let me know what's going on."

The sound of an elevator dinging filled my ears, "I'll talk to you in a bit okay?"

"Yeah," I whispered, already dreading not hearing his voice anymore, "Promise me you'll be safe."

"I promise."

---

That's the tough thing about promises, they aren't always kept. Five hours later, I had heard nothing from Bellamy- radio silence if you will.

Raven had now rejoined me, and both of us were anxiously awaiting another call from Bellamy. I tried to keep myself busy, helping Raven with the tone generators, but I couldn't keep my hands from shaking. "He should have called by now." I whispered, fear eating at my every word.

Raven glanced up at me, "I'm sure he just caught up in something." she reassured.

"For five hours?"

Raven let out a sigh in succession, she knew this wasn't good either.

Another hour had passed by the time Bellamy's voice finally came through. My eyes grew wide as I snatched the radio before Raven even had a chance to think about it. "Where the hell have you been!" I demanded, trying to convince myself not to completely lose it on him.

Bellamy let out a sigh from the other end, his breathing was heavy, sounding like he was running, "They have Maya."

I froze for a moment before pressing the button, "What do you mean they have Maya?" I demanded, my heart rate speeding up.

"Cage, he knows she's working with us. He put her in a suit with only twenty minutes worth of oxygen and sent her up to the fifth floor. They've blocked all exits-"

"And how many minutes has she been up there?" I asked, already fearing the answer.

"Fifteen."

I felt my heart drop completely, "So what are you going to do? Bellamy, we can't let her die." I whispered. Without Maya, we would not be anywhere close to getting our friends out, and on top of that, Bellamy would probably be dead.

"I know," he panted, "That's why you're going to help me get up there."

Confusion clouded over both Raven and I, "But I thought-"

Bellamy wasted no time in letting me finish, "There's trash chutes on all floors, no radiation alarms. They've all had airlocks installed into them. If I can get up to the fifth floor through one, I can get Maya. Her dad's on his way to help, but I can't wait for him. I need you to direct me."

Raven and I immediately jumped into action, pulling the map closer to us, I responded to Bellamy, "I need you to tell me where you are exactly."

Bellamy did just that, he gave us precise enough instructions, allowing us to pinpoint his exact location.

"Okay, left." I said into the radio, Raven following Bellamy's path with her finger on the map. Bellamy's breathing was heavy, he was sprinting down the halls now. "Right." I ordered, trying to keep my voice from breaking in worry, "It should be straight ahead."

Bellamy let out what sounded like a sigh of relief, "We did it." he mumbled.

"Good, now go get her. I'll talk to you later."

I didn't get a response from Bellamy, and I didn't expect one, hoping that he was already half way up that damn garbage chute.

A new sense of worry overwhelmed me. If Cage knew Maya was with us, then I was worried he would soon catch on that we had another operative inside their walls- Bellamy.
