Β  Β  Β  Β Β  THE ENTIRE WATER TRIBE ( WHICH WASN'T MUCH ) had seen the flare, including ( Y/N ). She might find Sokka's paranoia a bit and nit picking annoying, but she had some of her own, so she understood. A few of the children scurried over to Aang as him and Katara returned, opening their arms to hug him in a choir of hoorays.

"I knew it," Sokka stepped out from the crowd. "You signaled the fire navy with that flare," he pointed at Aang as he came back to the group with the kids and Katara. "You're leading them straight to us, aren't you?"

"Aang didn't do anything," Katara stated. "It was an accident."

Aang nodded. "Yeah, we were on the ship and there was this booby trap and, well, we β€” we boobied right into it."

"Katara, you shouldn't have gone on that ship," gran gran told her. "Now we could all be in danger."

"Don't blame Katara," Aang stepped into her defense. "I brought her there. It's my fault."

"A-ha! The traitor confesses! Warriors, away from the enemy," Sokka commanded. "The foreigner is banished from our village."

( Y/N ) nodded slowly. "Yes, warriors."

"Sokka, you're making a mistake," Katara stated.

"No, I'm keeping my promise to dad," Sokka replied. "I'm protecting you from threats like him and nomad-girl over here."

"Excuse me?" ( Y/N ) scoffed, crossing her arms against her chest. "What have I done that's so threatening?

"Nothing yet."

"Aang is not our enemy," Katara said, signaling to Aang. "Don't you see? Aang's brought us something we haven't had in a long time: fun."

"Fun? We can't fight the firebenders with fun!"

Aang smiled. "You should try it some time."

"Get out of our village now!" Sokka exclaimed.

"Grandmother, please," Katara pleaded. "Don't let Sokka do this."

"Katara, you knew going on that ship was forbidden," gran gran said. "Sokka is right."

"Never thought I'd hear that," ( Y/N ) muttered.

"-I think it best if the airbender leaves."

"Fine, then I'm banished too."

As Katara dragged Aang back to Appa, Sokka spoke up again, "Where do you think you're going?"

"To find a waterbender," Katara replied. "Aang is taking me to the North Pole."

"I am?"

"Katara! Would you really choose him over your tribe," the boy signaled to the small group of people behind him, perking their heads up to see Aang and Katara heading to Appa, "Your own family."

Katara took one glance back at the tribe before turning back at the giant sky bison and then lowering her head, shifting her gaze to the snow. Then, Aang stepped forward with a solemn expression, "Katara, I don't wanna come between you and your family." Aang then began walking towards the sky bison once again.

"So you're leaving the South Pole?" Katara asked him as he turned around, "This is goodbye?"

Aang turned around, "Thanks for penguin sledding with me."

"Where will you go??

"Guess I'll go back home and look for the Airbenders," Aang replied with a light smile, putting a hand on Appa's side and facing Katara.

This made ( Y/N ) give a nervous expression, looking down at the snow below her. Almost everyone around her β€” and the entire world knows the Airbenders are extinct, thanks to her family. She couldn't bear to break it to him, but she couldn't bear letting him find out for himself.

Aang's eyes widened as he looked down, "Wow! I haven't cleaned my room in a hundred years," he flashed a light smile, looking at the snow, "Not looking forward to that," then he flew up onto Appa, holding onto the rope attached to Appa's horns, "Jt was nice meeting everyone."

"Let's see your bison fly now, Airboy."

( Y/N ) playfully nudged Sokka's arm as he gave her an offended look. Then, Aang spoke up from on top of Appa again, "Come on, Appa, you can do it. Yip yip!"

"Yeah, I thought so!"

A little girl beside them started crying and sprinted up to Aang, reaching her arms up. Then, she stood beside Katara, looking up at him with glossy eyes, "Aang, don't go, I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too," Aang sighed. "Come on, boy."

Once Aang left, Katara and Sokka's grandmother tried to comfort Katara, but she was too furious to let anything go. Meanwhile, Sokka was trying to get the little ones ready for battle, "Alright, ready our defenses! The Fire Nation could be on our shores any moment now!"

One kid stopped reading a hand in the air, "But I gotta goβ€”"

"And no potty breaks!"

Her eyes widened at the thought, but took a deep breath in and let out, keeping the facade of a nomad and headed towards Sokka, crossing her arms against her chest, "Sokka, they're children."

"Warriors," Sokka corrected.

Β  Β  Β  Β  AFTER A WHILE OF PREPARATION TO DEFEND THE tribe, everyone was ready to defend themselves from the Fire Nation. Her thoughts were running faster than she could keep up β€” she hadn't seen her brother Zuko in so long and she hoped it would be longer... way longer. Even from afar, she could see the blurred image of that ship, its terrifying aura as it forced its way into the Southern Water Tribe.

When the ship got closer, it cut through the land of ice, causing the people to sprint away into their homes and scream. Katara and ( Y/N ) spotted Sokka standing on the wall of ice with his boomerang ready and their eyes widened, "Sokka! Get out of the way!"

An avalanche caused by the ship caused Sokka to fall from the wall, barely keeping still as it fell down. Once the ship pulled up to shore, ( Y/N ) slowly moved away from Katara, in the hopes she wouldn't be noticed by the Fire Nation β€” specifically her brother.

The doors of the shop opened and the three soldiers from the Fire Nation fleet made their way down. In the front of the trio was her brother Zuko.

"Zuko..." ( Y/N ) muttered.

As more came down with him, Sokka let out a yell and tried to fight them off, but he was quickly pushed aside. Everyone gasped as Zuko stepped forward to the crowd all in blue. He looked around for a bit before standing in front of Katara and Gran Gran, "Where are you hiding him?"

When he got no answer, Zuko pulled Gran Gran away from Katara, "He'd be about this age, master of all elements."

Once again silence.

He threw Gran Gran back to Katara's direction. Then Zuko swung his arm around, making a ring of fire that hovered above the group before it faded.

"I know you're hiding him."

Sokka had once again attempted to fight Zuko with his sword. And once again he was thrown to the ground, but this time he managed a landing and swung his boomerang at Zuko's direction that never came back. One of the kids with a spear had a stoic expression on his face and threw it at Sokka to catch.

"Show no fear!" He exclaimed.

Sokka grabbed the spear and ran towards Zuko. It was quickly destroyed with ease and Sokka had once again fell to the ground. A few seconds later, the boomerang made its return and hit Zuko in the back of the head.

Fire daggers formed from his hand, but before he could throw them at Sokka, Aang had come from behind riding on the back of a penguin. This caused Zuko to fall to the ground, making the kids cheer and giggle. The penguin then pushed Aang off and waddled away.

"Hey, Katara, Sokka and ( Y/N ) -"

"-Hi," ( Y/N ) cut him off nervously before he could finish.

Sokka deadpanned, "Hi, Aang. Thanks for coming."

The soldiers began surrounding Aang, all holding spears. Then, Aang used his glider to lift up a pile of snow and throw it right at them, "Looking for me?"

"You're the Airbender? You're the Avatar?"

"Aang?" Katara gasped.

"No way."

"I've spent years preparing for this encounter," Zuko stated. "Training, meditating. You're just a child."

Aang raised an eyebrow, "Well, you're just a teenager."

Zuko didn't seem to like the comment, so in retaliation he threw a ball of fire at Aang, but he blocked it with his glider and circled around, blocking the fire from hitting the people of the Southern Water Tribe.

"If I go with you will you promise to leave everyone alone?" Aang asked.

Zuko nodded and the soldiers took Aang up to the ship. Katara gasped, "No, Aang, don't do this!"

"Don't worry, Katara," Aang said. "It'll be okay."

( Y/N ) frowned as she and the others watched Aang being taken up to the ship. She couldn't believe it. That little boy the three of them found in the ice berg was the Avatar.
