十七 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙈𝙮 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩
Kazuya took you to G Corporation, where there was a large staff of doctors ready to treat your injuries. Aside from a few patches on your face and some supplements, your condition was stable and you were released after regaining consciousness...instead, Kazuya's medical checks lasted the whole day.
Of course, he was quite a strong and resilient man. But like every human being, he also needed to heal and rest, after all he had lost a lot of energy during the fight.
You stayed thinking about what you had seen before, namely the appearance of Devil Kazuya; you weren't scared at first, but now that you thought about it better, he had become downright monstrous and you hoped it wouldn't happen again.
«But it didn't happen when I was with him, maybe it's something I could handle...»
You thought to yourself as you waited for some good news, sitting somewhere. Then, Anna Williams appeared and her expression became genuinely surprised.
«Here she is, the last survivor of the Mishima war...you should be proud of it.»
Honestly, you didn't know the reason for her enthusiasm, maybe because your thoughts revolved around Kazuya's health condition now. Anna stopped joking and sat next to you, lighting a cigarette.
«...why did you come back here?»
At that question, you kept your gaze fixed on the floor, with hands crossed on legs.
«I have nowhere to go, so what's the difference?» You said, looking seriously into her eyes, as if looking for justification. You were willing to go back to work in that place, but the brunette woman seemed not to be convinced by your words.
«It depends if that's what you want. Do you want to stay here for yourself, or for Kazuya?» She let out a puff of smoke after that and you played another round of silence. Now what were you done with revenge, you had to find a new purpose to follow...
«I've lost count of how many favors he's done for me.» You chuckled briefly, admitting that for the umpteenth time, you owed that man «I can repay by working here–»
«Well, there are faster ways to settle your bill, if you want to know...» You didn't like the malice in Anna's smile very much, having guessed what it was about and she seemed to be sure of it.
«'Course, she took overtime with her boss to say that with such ease...predictable.»
You thought, staring at the older woman as she walked away with her nearly finished cigarette, if she was Kazuya's lover, you certainly didn't want to become his second...if he wanted you, he had to tell the other geese to fuck off.
«What the hell I'm even thinking...»
«I'm leaving, gonna pay condolences to my dear sister.» Anna announced in a sarcastic tone, clearly referring to the death of her old boss, maybe they didn't hate each other that much.
«Take care of Mr. Saxobeat while I'm gone.»
You didn't answer and she walked away with that seductive walk of hers, catching the attention of the people around and you rolled your eyes, she was funny also with her acid character; later, the doctor warned you he needed to mark some documents that only you could take, as you had access to Kazuya's office.
In a way, it was like things stayed the same and part of it was good for you, if you could stop thinking about him all the time...
«I'm just worried about his condition, nothing more.»
You convinced yourself there was nothing else and for a moment, you thought you saw him there, standing in front of his desk in his usual command position...but when you got closer, you realized that someone else was actually there.
«Who the hell is—» You stopped talking when the intruder revealed his identity and you couldn't believe your eyes.
«It's me, Y/n.» You didn't understand why Jin Kazama was there, in Kazuya's office; you wondered how he managed to escape the surveillance of the tower.
«You shouldn't be here.» Of course, you hadn't forgotten he was on the enemy's side and seeing him there was quite suspicious «Or you came here to finish your old man?»
Jin stared at you in a way you already knew and without saying a word, as he was focused on looking at your band-aid-adorned face rather than heeding your harsh words.
«That's not why I'm here.» He suddenly approached you, but you backed away from him «In fact, I came to get you.»
You were nervous and confused, on one hand you were relieved to see him, on the other you didn't understand why he was saying those things after he had ignored you all this time. Maybe, it was Ling's plan to get you back, or part of his own to make you go against Kazuya...whatever it was, you placed a hand in front of Jin.
«It's not that easy.» You were telling the truth, you had left home and work but through G Corp, you could redeem yourself «Please go, I don't want you to get into trouble for me. I'm fine like this–»
«You're not.» There, Jin took your chin between his fingers to caress you, as your eyes looked wide at him «Even if you try, there's nothing good about being with a man like him...you'll have understood it, by now.»
The truth was, you were back to square one. Kazuya was unpredictable and you didn't always understand his moves, but right now, you were sure that he cared about you, even if in his own way...and Jin wanted to protect you from him, he preferred to antagonize him rather than find a truce with his father.
«Soon, he will declare war to the world. We must stop him before the worst happens.» His words reminded you exactly of Heihachi's and this hurt you, more blood would have been shed with the start of other fistfights. After what you had seen on the volcano, you had to prevent them.
«Jin, listen to me–»
«What a pathetic picture.»
You immediately turned towards the door and with the breath in your throat, you saw the imposing and indestructible figure of Kazuya Mishima, healed of his wounds and ready to return on his throne; Jin stepped in front of you to face the other in a series of murderous glares, until the latter spoke again.
«So, your revenge is to kidnap my secretary? How ridiculous.»
«We both know full well that you don't see her that way.» There, Jin walked towards the older man, keeping the gaze fixed on him «But she doesn't belong to you, Kazuya.»
You couldn't stand still and tried to get between them, but their bodies were unshakable and you could clearly read the tension written on their muscles. Once again, father and son were fighting and you were the object of their argument.
«Stop this, you can't–!»
«Mpf, you are a nuisance.» But that's when Kazuya grabbed your wrist roughly to pull you away from his son «Whatever your attempt to defeat me, it will fail. I always get what I want.»
You were about to thud him, if your balance didn't shift again and to your amazement, it was Jin who pulled you in his direction this time; you were stuck between the two men, who continued to look at each other with hatred and ignore your attempts to get out of that embarrassing situation.
«I won't let you do the same thing twice. I swear I'll make you pay, Kazuya.» Jin replied with a deep frown, he would have gladly threw a punch in his face, but Kazuya wrapped the arm around you, sneering over your shoulder with a possessive gaze.
«We'll see then...»
«Hell, stop talking as if I wasn't there!»
You caught the attention of both men when suddenly raised your voice, taking a position away from both of them to look straight into their eyes.
«You should find a solution instead of continuing to slaughter each other! Why you hate him so much, Jin?»
In front of that question, the boy clenched his fists, filling them with hatred towards the man who hadn't been a true example for him.
«A true father wouldn't order death for the mother of his son...but this is what he did and I'll never be able to forgive him.»
After that, you turned to the older man to receive confirmation from him, hoping it wasn't true, but Kazuya just crossed his arms and stared sternly at the corrupted fruit of his seed.
But that's when his legs suddenly gave way, kneeling before your eyes. Kazuya didn't make any groans of pain, but when you tried to get closer, Jin stopped you by grabbing your hand.
«Ignore him and come away with me, Y/n.»
At those words, Kazuya immediately looked up. Jin pulled you harder, as if to get you out of that damned place and to take you away from that damned man, but you seemed to resist him...maybe he was right, but you couldn't forget Kazuya, not after he had avenged your parents' death for you...
And not after his kisses had poisoned your mind.
«I'm sorry, you must go without me.» You gave one last serious look, before releasing young Kazama's hand. It wasn't your intention from the start and you proved that by taking spontaneously Kazuya's side.
Before leaving, Jin whispered something that only you could hear, catching you off guard...Kazuya got up on his own after he disappeared.
«You could have left, now that you had the chance...» He looked really confused, as he was certain of your imminent betrayal, but nothing of the sort happened and you approached him.
«...do you want me to do it?»
Readily, Kazuya wrapped his forearm around your waist, attaching your body to his larger one; you feared his wounds might reopen like this, but unfortunately for you, he always did his own thing.
«Do that, I will catch you every time.»
His cocky confidence made you blush and so did his obsession with you. Kazuya lifted you in mid-air to make you look exclusively at him, but he didn't try to kiss you; right there, you thought about Jin, even if he would chase you, your heart was stuck with only one person in the end...
With one hand on his cheek and the other on his nape, you touched his closed mouth with your parted lips.
«You already got me.»
Kazuya narrowed his gaze at your softness, for the very first time you had taken the initiative; however, your manner was too light for him and in no time, he took possession of your entire mouth. Your voice changed tone and before you knew it, you let out a moan when his hand was under your ass to support you.
«You're still healing. I don't want you to—mh!» His mouth silenced you and just after, you were lying on his work table. That lascivious look made your heart beat violently and you hugged him during the kiss, with your hands holding the shirt on the back.
«Shut up and stay like this.» Kazuya buried his face in your neck, holding you in his embrace for a good while. You did everything to keep him from losing your warmth, he needed it and you could tell by his breathing, which was relaxing more.
Who would have thought that a man like him could be a softie?
«So you have a weak side, huh?» You caressed his spiky hair, extraordinarily thin and soft and he didn't complain about that, in fact his frown seemed to have disappeared in that moment, so intimate between you two.
Maybe it was wrong. But you felt like you had to be close to him, despite the bad rumors about him...
Despite Jin's promise to you.

Now that the Mishima Zaibatsu was leaderless, G Corp officially became Japan's sole power and one of the most famous in the field of genetics. Soon, the allies grew and with them, also the number of Kazuya Mishima's enemies.
You were the CEO's secretary again, but under Kazuya's request, you started a biotechnology course within the company to broaden your knowledge and administrative skills. It often happened that, during your studies, someone approached you from behind to observe you...
«Mpf, you're so focused that you didn't even notice my presence.» His low voice vibrated in your ears, forcing you to read the same sentence multiple times to understand it.
«I'm sorry and yes, I was focused...do you need me now?» You looked up from the text and there he was, his red eye peering at you. Kazuya stepped back with a bored expression, lately he hadn't had the chance to see you during the day due to your school commitments and now that you were there, you were dumping him.
«I need you to stop.»
You didn't understand why he wanted that after he helped you, but you ignored him and just went back to your book, until a large hand closed it in your face.
«Don't make me repeat myself, Y/n.»
You stood up from the chair and quickly adjusted your skirt over your legs with a long sigh, now that you had found a quiet place to study, you were sorry to abandon it for your stupid boss...in no time, he captured your face between his fingers, making you put aside what you were reading.
«Have you come here to test me, Professor Mishima?» You smiled at him with the only voice that could make him lose his absolute control «Ask me the first question then.»
He may have been the Cold-Blooded Oppressor for the world, but in front of you, he remained a man struggling with his feelings for a woman much younger and different from him...
«How much longer will you have to make me wait?» There, your peace of mind disappeared when you saw Kazuya's expression darken behind his thoughts, wondering what kind of question was.
«You've been here for a month now. I think you've had enough time to figure out who to choose between the two of us...»
Same story again. After the last meeting with Jin, Kazuya had become suspicious and although you were integrating into his complex society, it was clear there was a secret of words between you and his son which he didn't like at all.
You walked away from him, in a way you were offended by his sudden attitude, but you tried to be understanding.
«I thought the answer was clear...why you doubt me?»
The cleats under Kazuya's shoes followed you until you stopped in the middle of the room. His silence made you thoughtful, until he picked up a lock of your hair to bring it close to his nose.
«Because I know you're not completely mine...your mind is stuck elsewhere and that irritates me a lot.»
He didn't touch you, but a shiver inexplicably ran down your spine, after you had listened to him. If you were nervous, Kazuya was clearly crazy about you.
«You know that's not the case.» He trusted you, but didn't want anyone else to get close to you, especially Jin and his baby gang, plotting against his plans of world domination; you slowly turned towards him, observing his elegant appearance in that business suit and there, you noticed the tie had loosened.
Kazuya didn't blink at your movements when you tied the knot all over again, tightening it under his Adam's apple; it wasn't the first time you had done that, but this time there was no mischievous smile or silly comment about your work.
But when you were about to say something, Kazuya headed for the door, once again you showed him that you were hesitant and there was still a barrier separating you two.
And that barrier was called Jin Kazama...
You had no choice but solve this by yourself. Later, you called your once best friend, hoping she would answer.
«Let's meet at the usual place, I need to talk to him, Ling.» You said with a stern tone as you unbuttoned your professional jacket before getting on your motorbike.
You didn't add anything else and were ready to drive, if a figure didn't get in the way.
«Where are you going in such a hurry?»
Anna Williams asked with her head cocked, as if she had just discovered something funny, but you didn't hide the truth from her.
«Don't tell me you want to stick another knife in Kazuya...sometimes I think you can be smarter than you seem, Y/n.»
«Come with me then, if you don't trust me.» You said offering her another helmet, which the woman hesitantly accepted «I have nothing to hide.»
Unlike Nina, you felt like you could trust her, but when the time came to sit on the motorbike, Anna strangely chose the driver's seat.
«You better hold on tight, I tend to speed up when I'm excited.»
You didn't understand until she started the engine aggressively. You held on to her so as not to fly away and guided her to the destination, which was a very familiar park...it seemed deserted and Anna waited with the hands busy on a cigarette for whoever you were supposed to meet, almost impatiently.
She was about to make you some questions when the figure of another girl appeared in front of you, recognizing her identity as Ling Xiaoyu.
«I'm happy to see you again, Y/n...but why she's here?» The presence of Mishima's henchman didn't please the chinese girl, who simply looked at her with an intimidating look «If you're going to fight–»
«Nothing like that will happen, she's just my bodyguard.»
Ling looked at you confused and Anna just grimaced with the cigarette in her mouth, playing along with you; but she became alert when saw a group approaching, led by the boss' son.
«You finally came.» Jin Kazama said looking at you seriously, not thinking you had company «Drop everything and come with us Y/n, I'll protect you from now on.»
Yet, none of your friends dared to look at you and the guys you didn't know looked at you with hostile expressions...Anna threw the cigarette on the ground and took a step forward, until you stopped her.
«Actually, I came here to make a deal.» You said firmly and consciously of your words, triggering a wave of murmurs from the opposite side «You said you'll protect me...if you really care, don't start any war against Kazuya.»
Anna looked at you with fixed eyes, honestly she didn't expect this change in you and neither did your former friends, who were equally shocked; Ling was about to run in your direction, but Hwoarang held her back by her arm.
«H-how can you ask something like that? You must be out of your mind, there's no way Kazuya told you to say this bullshit!»
The korean boy tried to hold back his anguish and anger, you were no longer the girl he had fallen in love with and this affected him deeply. You tried to calm him down, but Anna also did the same to not let you get close to them.
«...Hwoarang–»
«HOW COULD YOU BETRAY US!!!»
His scream made you stay silent for a while. This situation was making you suffer and Anna placed a hand on your shoulder, as if she was trying to comfort you, but she couldn't, not when you were turning your back on them...
«You're making a mistake and by the time you realize it, it will be too late.» Jin answered more calmly than his friend, as he was convinced your choice was controlled by Kazuya's will «Think about how many innocent people will die because of him...you're choosing the side of the Devil, Y/n.»
At that point, Anna decided it was time to leave, but before getting on the motorbike and abandoning the others, you took one last look at Jin...it was as if you were looking at another person, his golden eyes stared at you insistently, as if they wanted to hit you at any moment.
This was the price to pay for having made the choice with the heart...and once the chains were broken, the two beasts would sweep everything away.
And you were the angel caught in the middle.
