You were in a stormy sea. Now that the mighty Kazuya Mishima was finally under your control, there was something that prevented you from acting as planned...not that you had forgiven him or anything, but something had moved inside you, making you raise some doubts.
Doubts that wouldn't have done justice to your family, obviously...
"If you want something, you must take it for yourself...or live in regret forever."
The man's words returned to your mind as if he himself had suggested this path to you. A path made of violence and revenge that you had chosen to follow, but now you had reached a blind spot.
You screamed internally as you squeezed the dagger in your hand, letting Kazuya looked at you secretly in his last minutes. You kept to stare at him in desperation...maybe, if your positions had been different...
«Mom, dad...»
Definitely, your choice would have had consequences.
«...I'm sorry.»

By now, it was pitch dark outside. You went out to get some fresh air directly from the front door of the house and next to the owner's car, another familiar black car was parked.
«...you did it?» Nina started asking you questions as soon as you got into the car, but noticing there was something different about you.
Unexpectedly, there was blood on your hands and dress.
«Where is the dagger?»
Without saying anything, you showed the "murder" weapon to the woman, who stood there examining it carefully.
«You can go and see for yourself.» You justified in a serious tone, seeing her as too suspicious. But Nina didn't move from her seat and just started the car, leaving any trace of her passage.
You and the blonde didn't speak for all the rest of the way, until she dropped you back in front of your house as if nothing had happened.
«You'll have your bank transfer within 24 hours, as soon as everything is in order.» Nina clarified immediately afterwards, keeping the stained dagger with her as evidence «We're done here. Have a good night, Y/n.»
Seriously, you wanted to kick her car at that precise moment, but you limited yourself with a hint of a smile, hoping it sounded as true as possible.
«...you too, Nina.»
Anyway, you wouldn't have had a good night. The first thing you thought of doing was rushing to the bathroom to wash up and take off that stupid disguise once and for all.
Even though it wasn't real blood.
«I wonder how long it will last...» You thought in the darkness of the room. And finally, you took your time in the shower to clear your mind, especially from Kazuya...you could still remember his face, with his eyes closed and frowning, sure that he would kill you when he recovered from the drugs.
Because this was. Kazuya's death was just apparent and when Nina would find out too, she would make you pay dearly.

More weeks passed. The phone didn't stop ringing from the numerous calls you received, both from your boss and your friends. You had stopped going to work and obviously, you would have lost your job, but you didn't care anymore...by now, you had decided to leave Tokyo forever.
Still, you had decided to stop by the restaurant and say goodbye to the people who had supported you all this time; but beyond your colleagues, there was one in particular, sitting at the table as if waiting for someone.
But you were stunned to see Jin.
«It's the first time I've seen you here.» You said as you came up behind him. When he saw you, Jin stared at you seriously as if there was no need to say anything.
«I knew I'd find you here, sooner or later.» The black-haired man replied, straightening his back and adjusting the collar of his jacket «Ling contacted me...I told you not to meddle in Kazuya's affairs, or am I wrong?»
«Well, you didn't tell me you were his son. I think we're good now.» You reciprocated as you sat down in front of him, surely you didn't want to be tricked by him «So, you're here to know what happened that night...or you already know?»
Jin Kazama stared at you more intently than usual, noticing your attitude had changed towards him too and unfortunately, he didn't know the details.
«I want to hear it from you, Y/n. Tell me what happened with my father.»
His eyes scrutinized you carefully as if he were watching a prey. You took a long breath and told about the date with Kazuya...the visit to his house...and what you had done to make him fall into your trap...
«I drugged him. It was my duty to kill him, to avenge my family, but I couldn't.» You started to speak openly, clutching the glass in your hands.
«When he was still alive, my father taught me, Victory is not measured in the number of bodies you leave behind, but by the connections you make with it...before you change the world, you must change yourself first and until now, I was too blinded by revenge to understand I was making a big mistake. My parents are dead and I can't do anything to bring them back, that's the truth.»
When you stopped talking, it was as if a boulder had been lifted off your shoulders and your thoughts became clearer too, but now you were afraid of what Jin thought of you.
«You have the right to know the whole story.» From his jacket, he pulled out a yellow folder «Only in this way you'll be able to understand the truth.»
After that, Jin suddenly stood up from his chair and walked out of the restaurant, leaving you full of confusion and questions. You started to read the contents of the pages inside, in reference to the attack that devastated your homeland and from which you had barely managed to survive...
But the further you went, the more seemed to see something completely different; the "G" you had seen had suddenly turned into another logo and you pulled Nina's card out of your pocket.
You thought it was a photomontage, until you read what seemed to be a report, written by Nina Williams, where she confirmed the "success of the Tekken Force" and the capture of a certain "target". However, no reference to G Corp, nor to Kazuya Mishima and this was quite destabilizing.
«I don't understand, what does this mean?»
You reread everything again to make sure that didn't miss anything and as you expected, nothing of what you knew was written in those pages; apparently, Jin had shared confidential documents with you, but without telling you how he got them and this made you thoughtful.
«So, Kazuya is not...» You didn't know why, but when you thought that, you felt somewhat lighter «I have to talk to Nina, now.»
To understand whether Jin's information was true or not, you dialed the blonde woman's number but the phone just rang on the other end. Maybe she was busy, or planning how to get rid of you by surprise...
Before you left the restaurant, your boss came to talk to you for the last time, showing an expression that was anything but angry.
«If you ever change your mind, you know where to find us...I wish you well in everything, my dear.» You returned his extreme kindness with a smile. Of course, what you were involved in was too complicated and getting good people into trouble was the last thing you wanted.
«And I thank you for the opportunity you've given me all this time, sir.»
Your head was full of thoughts and among them, there were also your friends. It had been a long time since you spoke to Ling and Hwoarang, feeling guilty for not confiding in them...in a way, you were back to how you were seven years earlier, completely alone.
«I deserved it this time.» You laughingly thought about yourself and how ridiculous you had become.

Your afternoon passed peacefully, unlike your head, which couldn't stop thinking about the meeting with Jin Kazama. Until now, he had been the son of the man you were supposed to assassinate, so he was also to be considered your enemy. Well, that's what Nina had told you although she had never been your friend...sometimes, you thought they were double-crossing you, as they both always knew where to find you.
But it was a mere coincidence. Just as you didn't expect to find the door to your apartment open.
«Maybe I didn't close it properly...» You blamed yourself again, until you suddenly stopped moving. It smelled different than before, as if there was someone else inside with you.
«Show yourself!»
After a few seconds, the sound of heels hovers in the air and a poised, feminine figure turned the corner of a wall to reveal herself to you.
«Nice to see you again, Y/n.» Nina came face to face with you and had a bright smile on her lips, as she sat down without your permission «I hope you enjoyed the money you earned...without killing anyone.»
Suddenly, she kicked the small table in front of her, causing it to roll away in a violent manner; you stared at her in silence, even if she was angry, she had no right to behave this way in your house.
«We had an agreement Y/n, why didn't you respect it?» Nina's tone was more intimidating than usual, sitting with her elbow on top of your couch «Don't you think your poor parents are disappointed with your behavior–»
«Don't you dare get my family involved.» You stated getting a cold look from the other woman «You say so, but you've been lying to me this whole time...why?»
That's when you took the yellow folder out of your bag. At first, Nina didn't seem to understand, until you showed a photo of the militia and there, she burst out laughing out loud.
«Haha yeah, that's my militia.» She stood up to start walking in your direction with a cocky look «You discovered it in the end, congratulations.»
But her cheers were far from sincere and when she was close enough, Nina didn't hesitate to punch you in the face; the blow was strong enough to stun, but it didn't knock you to the ground.
«You're right, it wasn't G Corp that killed your parents...not even that bastard.» Your eyes widened as you listened and wiped the blood from your mouth «Your profile was perfect for the script we had in mind, no one would have noticed your disappearance if Kazuya had killed you...and now here you are, aware of the truth, but too late for your desperate revenge.»
Those words pissed you off even more, so you took a long, shaky breath before attempting an attack in Nina's direction. But she was quicker than you to dodge and knee you in the stomach, causing you to fall to the floor due to pain.
«...you shouldn't have stuck your nose in our business, stupid girl.» Right there, Nina pulled out a cleaned knife, the same one you were supposed to use against Kazuya «I'll have to sort things out myself from now on.»
«Start by fucking yourself, bitch.» You spat blood onto the blonde's shiny black boots, as you looked for something to defend yourself. Nina grabbed the collar of your jacket to throw you against a wall of the apartment, definitely she didn't like your move and you thanked the gym training for holding on like this...but you felt like you had taken a bad blow to your right side, because you were having a hard time dragging yourself to your feet.
«So, this is how it has to end?» You thought as you glared at the woman, after having let yourself be deceived all this time...
And you couldn't allow this.
«Oh, I'm terribly sorry Y/n, because I really liked you!» Nina brushed her hair over the shoulder as if she were acting, before bringing the blade dangerously close to your neck and feeling its cold tip then.
«I thought we were fighting for a common cause...instead, you fell for the enemy and so, you deserve the same end as him.»
