๐—œ๐—ง ๐—›๐—”๐—— ๐—•๐—˜๐—˜๐—ก ๐—”๐—•๐—ข๐—จ๐—ง ๐—” month since the death of Gregoryโ€” and most importantly Ivy's head injury, because no one cared about Gregory. Everyone was doing great, keeping up with tasks and duties all day everyday. But, all the camps and communities had a new task.

The bridge.

Ivy worked on the stitches on Cyndies hand, working carefully, just the way Siddiq taught her. Due to everyone working on the bridge, there was a short amount of people who weren't hammering nails in. But, the people needed doctors, and having just Siddiq wasn't ideal. So, Rick and Maggie agreed to have Ivy and Enid train with Siddiq.

Enid would most likely become a doctor at The Hilltop, and maybe Ivy, too. But this was just temporary for now.

"You're lucky it's not infected. Next time, come see us right away." Siddiq informed Cyndie.

Cyndie nodded. "I know. I just felt stupid." The girl let out a breathy laugh. "Peeling a potato's a pretty dumb way to end up in the infirmary."

"Yeah, well, it's an even dumber way to get gangrene." Ivy sighed.

Ivy saw three men out of the corner of her eye approach the infirmary. "How's the star students doing?" The familiar voice of Rick asked. Ivy and Enid smiled to themselves at the mans comment.

"Ready to take on anything. Just having them switch on and off. Not trying to overwork them." Siddiq answered the man. Ivy looked over and smiled at Eugene, who smiled back. Carl stepped into the tent and dapped Siddiq up. "Sup, man."

Carl patted his back. "Just keeping on, keeping on." Carl told him before going beside his girlfriend. "How's it going?"

"Don't distract me." Ivy mumbled as she finished up on Cyndies hand.

Rick cleared his throat before speaking again. "Well, these two are gonna get their chances." Rick explained. "I'd like you to head back home. There's a bug going around."

"Okay. I'll head out with the next escort." Siddiq nodded.

Ivy's head popped up and looked at the men. "Wait. He's leaving?" Ivy asked, panic lacing her voice. Cyndie let out a loud ow which Ivy quickly apologized for. "It's fine. We've got this."

"Oh, I know." Rick laughed before walking off.

Carl sighed as he ran his hands through Ivy's hair. "Well, I gotta go. I love you." Carl kissed her lips three times.

"I love you, too." Ivy smiled before focusing in on Cyndie. "Be safe!"

"Don't kill anyone!" Carl called back.

Siddiq slipped a bandage to Ivy, and she started wrapping Cyndies hand. Cyndie smiled at the woman. "You and Carl are cute. But, why do you guys kiss three times?" Cyndie asked curiously.

"I've been wondering that, too." Enid agreed.

"Guys, let's not pryโ€” Why?" Siddiq inquired. Ivy laughed and shrugged.

"It's really nothing. Iโ€”it's just... a little something we like to do." Ivy stated. "Three times. I... love... you."

The group let out small awes, which made Ivy blush out of instinct. Whenever anyone asked her about Carl, or she said anything about Carl, she would blush. It was stupid, since they were close to grown, but she couldn't help it.

"Okay, well, you guys got this, right?" Siddiq said to the girls. Enid and Ivy hesitantly nodded, but quickly gained confidence. "Okay... you guys have everything you need?"

"Yup." Ivy answered. The girl looked to Cyndie and patted her leg. "You're all set, love bug."

Cyndie scoffed and got up. "You're so weird." Cyndie laughed. Ivy smiled at her and waved as she walked out.

Siddiq clapped his hands together. "Okay, girls. Have fun, be safe, and like Carl saysโ€”"

"Don't kill anybody." They all said in unison.

Enid and Ivy had the infirmary tent under control as they were only tending to small abrasions, and just having to pass out antibiotics to some of the people working on the bridge.

This was different. Way out of the girls playing field.

"Ivy! Enid!" The familiar voice of Daryl yelled. Ivy shot up in alert, worried that Daryl might've been hurtโ€” or that someone else might've been hurt.

The two girls ran out the tent, pushing the tents fabric away from their faces. They froze in fear when they saw Daryl carrying a bit Aaron. "Oh my god." Enid breathed out, tears brimming her eyes.

Ivy pushed Enid back into the tent, Daryl following in pursuit. "Where's Siddiq?" The archer asked, placing down the groaning Aaron.

"He's gone. Its just us." Enid answered. Ivy grabbed ahold of their medical book and began flipping through the pages.

"Its just y'all, then." Daryl stated. Enid took a deep breathe as Daryl removed the flannel from Aaron's arm. Aaron yelled in pain, which made Ivy look up from the book.

Ivy sighed, Daryl and Enid turning to look at her.

"We have to amputate."

"What?" Aaron breathed out. Enid rushed to grab the stuff needed.

Daryl looked up at the girl. "There ain't no other way?" Daryl asked. Ivy shook her head.

"The only way to stop the bleeding is to amputate and cauterize the wound." Ivy answered, flashing the book Daryl's way.

"What?" Aaron asked again, tears brimming his eyes. Enid handed Daryl a long rubber band used for these things, and Ivy threw the book onto the table. "Wait. Wait."

Ivy ran to their table of supplies, and lifted up a sharp knife. Her breathing heaved. Enid and Ivy had never done anything like this. They were mostly stitching up wounds and bandaging cuts.

"You got some for the pain?" Daryl asked the girl next to him.

"It wouldn't kick in fast enough!" Enid answered. "We have to do this now!" Enid looked over at the girl. "V!"

Ivy grabbed the scalpel, and bone instruments. Ivy walked over to the group and placed the tools down. She looked at book, and then at her friends. "I need you guys to hold him down for me!" She ordered as she picked up the blade. Enid and Daryl held Aaron down and his whimpers filled the air.

Ivy looked at Aaron with worried eyes. "You can do it." Aaron assured her. She brought the blade to his skin. "Do it!" Ivy nodded and pushed the blade down, cutting at the bite. The sound of skin breaking, and Aaron's screams were unsettling.

This was definitely not for Ivy.

All cozying up besides their loved ones by the fire, finally getting the break they all deserve after working on the bridge all day. But the two people that needed the biggest break were Ivy and Enid.

Rick and Carl made their way towards the infirmary, waving or smiling at anyone who passed by.

The two Grimes men walked past Justin, the man that had fought Daryl twiceโ€” in the same day! Their goal was to just walk past him and ignore him, not wanting any trouble.

"Hey, you need to keep your dog on his leash." Justin spoke, causing all three men to stop. Carl and Rick turned to the man.

Rick furrowed his eyebrows. "Excuse me?" Rick asked.

"You heard me." Justin said. Carl crossed his arms, extremely unimpressed at the mans act. "That bitch of yours damn near killed me over nothing."

Rick went to walk forward, but Carl stopped him. "He's the bitch?" Justin nodded at Carls words. Carl let out a chuckle. "Alright, alright... Didn't you throw sand in his face because you were down on the ground? Didn't he beat your ass twice today?"

Justin went silent.

"Right..." Carl laughed. "Come on, Dad." Carl patted his dads shoulder and they began walking towards the infirmary.

As they stepped into the tent, they saw Cyndie walking out, and Enid organizing some medicine. Then, Aaron, Ivy and Daryl came into view.

"Well-done, girls." Rick spoke, making them jump a bit. "He's gonna be all right?"

"Yeah." Enid nodded. "All thanks to V." Carl smiled at Enid, which she smiled back. Enid always thought it was adorable how proud Carl would get over the smallest things.

Ivy grazed over the compliment. "He'll be fine if we can keep the wound from getting infected. He's still in a lot of pain." Ivy muttered, looking down at Aaron as she sat on the edge of the small infirmary bed.

"He's holdin' on, though." Daryl added. Ivy nodded hesitantly.

"Damn right I am." Aaron injected weakly. Ivy laughed slightly. Daryl got up, allowing Rick to sit. Ivy decided to get up to give them some alone time. She walked towards Carl, which he grabbed her hand and led her outside.

As they stepped outside, Carl was quick to place a soft kiss on Ivy's lips. "You okay?" Carl whispered. Ivy nodded and put on a fake smile.

"Yeah..." She sighed with a breathy laugh. "Just not used to cutting my friends arms off."

Carl took her into a hug, and Ivy melted in his touch. Carl looked down at the girl and smiled. The way she wouldn't let go of his waist was adorable. It was very obvious that Ivy needed that hug after her long day.

"I'm gonna see if Enid can let you go... for just tonight."

๐—˜๐—ก๐—œ๐—— ๐—š๐—Ÿ๐—”๐——๐—Ÿ๐—ฌ ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—ง ๐—œ๐—ฉ๐—ฌ ๐—š๐—ข, no hesitation. Carl asked for Ivy to have the night off, and Enid practically yelled yes! Not because she didn't want to work with Ivy, it was for other reasons.

Everyone sat around the fire, laughing and having a great time. It was nice to have times like these. Everyone all together, happy.

Some of the Saviors joined the big circle around the fire, but the rest of them didn't. Aaliyah, Lacey, Avalyn and some of their friends joined, and that's all that they really needed. Avalyn obviously sat with Henry and held hands with him the whole time.

Ivy smiled as she looked around at everyone. "This is nice." She sighed. Carl nodded and smiled. "Like really nice."

"I wish Glenn was here to see it all. I wish Abraham was. Ohโ€” him and Sasha would've loved this." Ivy laughed at the memories. Carl rubbed her thigh and kissed her forehead. "Beth would be singing for us, and Hershel would be smiling the whole time. Maggie would be happy. I would be happy. It would be great."

Carl nodded knowingly. That girl was so broken, and it hurt him so much. Hopefully, this would help.

The Grimes boy cleared his throat the second he saw his dad step out of a tent. Everyone turned their attention to Carl who had just stood up. Everything went silent, the only thing you could hear was the sound of the fire crackling.

In the infirmary, Enid patted Daryl's shoulder and pointed to the small view of the fire they got. Aaron tried to look, but failed, so he just had to keep his listening ears open.

Ivy looked up at her boyfriend confusedly, but quickly realized what was happening when he got down on one knee. Everyone gasped, along with Ivy.

"I remember, the day my dad dragged you into the prison... I wanted to hate you so bad." Carl laughed at the stupid memory. Ivy's mouth gaped in awe. "And, I did. But then I realized I hated you to mask the love I felt for you. The love I still feel for you."

Ivy brought a hand to her mouth as tears threatened to spill. "All the things you've been through is unreal, but you still manage to pull through. I admire you so much for that." Carl continued. Rick felt a tear slip from his eye as he watched his son. "I've never realized that love could feel like this, and be so strong..."

"When I got shot, you were there. When I was feeling insecure about my eye, you were there." Tears had managed to slip down Ivy's face, and she had to wipe them away. Aaliyah grabbed onto Lacey's hand and smiled widely at her girlfriend. "I want you to always be there. Always. No matter what."

"I know we're young, but, we're turning eighteen soon. So, we're almost legal adultsโ€” not that it matters anymore, but..." Carl rambled on before trailing off.

He pulled out a familiar ring, one that Ivy once knew. Ivy gasped and tears fell rapidly.

"Ivaline Khaleesi Rhee... will you marry me?"

Ivy began crying harder and nodded rapidly. "Yes, yes, I will." Ivy answered, her face pulling into a wide smile.

Everyone clapped and cheered as Carl slipped the ring on her ring finger, it fitting perfectly. It was an insane coincidence, but it was almost like this was meant to happen.

Carl picked up his wife and spun her around as they kissed. Carl began crying as well, but he would just say that they were Ivy's tears falling onto his face.

After a few moments, Carl set Ivy down and they met eyes. "Oh my god, you're my husband now." Ivy laughed. Carl nodded happily. "And, I'm you're wife."

Ivy looked down at the ring on her finger. "This was my moms." Ivy cried happy tears. Carl nodded. "Where'd you get it?"

"Aaliyah gave it to me."
