000.ย  ย ย  ๐—ง๐—›๐—”๐—ง ๐—ก๐—œ๐—š๐—›๐—ง Ivy slept like a baby. She had fallen asleep in Carls arm and he soon fell asleep as well. The two teens got a great night sleepโ€” considering the slept on the floor.

ย  Ivy had woken up to Carl shaking her shoulders. Ivy looked up at the boy with an angry look.

ย  "Let me sleep." Ivy grumbled. Carl shook her even more.

ย  "Get up." Carl ordered. Carl sighed in defeat when the girl just groaned again, but then he got a bright idea. Carl scooped Ivy up and brought her to the table in the kitchen.

ย  The girl squealed when she clutched onto Carl. "Stop it!" Ivy groaned. She hit his chest, but he just laughed. He sat her down in one of the chairs and pushed a bowl of cereal in front of her. Ivy gave Carl the dirtiest look.

ย  Ivy played with her cereal a bit before looking up at Carl who was starting to laugh. Ivy looked over to Michonne who was wearing a very much oversized dress shirt. Ivy smiled at the woman, and smiling at the sound of Carls laugh.

ย  "Do you have something to say about my extremely comfortable and attractive shirt?" Michonne asked the two kids. Ivy nodded her head no.

ย  "No no no, it looks great." Carl said, still laughing. "Oh you missed a..." Carl pointed to one of the unbuttoned-buttons on her shirt. Michonne buttoned her shirt and sat down.

ย  "Michonne you look so stylish. I'm jealous." Ivy said in a dramatic voice.

ย  "Maybe you can wear Carls flannel and we can be stylish together." Michonne shrugged her shoulders as she poured some cereal in her bowl. Ivy looked to Carl and Carl stood up.

ย  "I'll go get it." Carl walked away to fetch his flannel. Ivy looked to Michonne who had her jaw on the floor.

ย  "Wow.... you guys really came a long way." Michonne laughed. Ivy nodded as Carl walked back in. He held out his dirty flannel with a proud look on his face.

ย  "Here." He said softly, a smile smile on his lips. Ivy blushed madly as she carefully took the fabric from his hands. She smiled at Carl as she put it on, and Michonne couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the adorable scene in front of her.

ย  A few moments of silence went by before Michonne sighed. "I wish we had some soy milk." She spoke, picking up the dry cereal with the spoon.

ย  "Seriously?" Carl asked with a disgusted look on his face.

ย  "Yes, seriously." Michonne laughed. Ivy sat back in her chair and was ready to enjoy the show. "Have you ever tried it?"

ย  "My best friend in third grade, he was allergic to dairy." Carl started. Michonne nodded as she listened. "And everyday he would bring this soy stuff to lunch."

ย  Michonne picked up on the fact that Ivy was basically mesmerized as she listened to Carl speak. The way she studied his features, and smiled every time he smiled. That was true love right there.

ย  "I tried it."

ย  "And?" Michonne dragged out.

ย  "I threw up." Ivy laughed at the boy and shook her head in disagreement.

ย  "No way you actually threw up!" Ivy laughed.

ย  "Yeah, right." Michonne laughed along as well.

ย  "Alright, alright. I almost threw up." Carl admitted, a giggle leaving his lips.

ย  "See- almost." Michonne corrected, a smirk playing on her face.

ย  "But I was like, ugh!" Carl gagged. There was something about Carl that was so wholesome. He was just perfect and so kind. At the prison, Carl was cruel, but so was Ivy. The two teens just got some sense knocked into them. "It was so gross."

ย  Carl looked over to Ivy. "Do you like soy milk?" Carl asked. Ivy shrugged her shoulders.

ย  "I don't think it's that bad." Ivy replied.

ย  "Gross." He muttered with a slight roll of his eye.

ย  Ivy scoffed and smiled, finding complete humor in the situation. "It's not even that bad!" Ivy defended, which made Michonne chuckle at the stupid argument.

ย  "No it is! I mean, literally. I would rather have powdered milk that to have to drink that's stuff again." Carl argued. "I would rather have Judiths formula-" Carl cut himself off and everyone got quiet.

ย  Ivy looked down at her lap. She didn't want to have to be apart of this conversation. Hopefully, there wasn't going to be a conversation and they could just move forward.

ย  Carl stood up quickly. "I'm gonna go finish my book." He walked away and Ivy looked at him sympathetically. Michonne looked over at Ivy.

ย  "You should go check on him." Michonne spoke.

ย  "I think I should give him space-"

ย  "Go." Ivy hesitated for a bit before sighing and standing up. Ivy walked up the stairs and went to the room Carl had shown her. The door was closed so she knocked.

ย  "Go away." A small voice was heard from inside.

ย  "It's me." Ivy said.

ย  "Come in."

ย  Ivy smiled and walked inside. Carl was sitting on the bed with a comic in hand. Carl wiped his face and Ivy could tell he had been crying. Ivy sat down next to him. He wouldn't pick his head up.

ย  "Carl." Ivy put her hand on his knee and shook it. Carl looked up at the girl with red eyes. Ivy pulled him into a hug and rubbed his back, which made Carls tears flow even harder.

ย  "I could've saved her." Carl cried. Ivy moved her shoulder so that Carl would look at her.

ย  She grabbed his face softly, rubbing his cheek with her thumb. "You did everything you need to be done. You couldn't have done anything more. Don't ever blame that on yourself." Ivy assured him. He breathed shakily and nodded.

ย  "Thank you." Carl whispered, looking up at Ivy as she wiped his tears.

ย  "Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" Ivy asked.

ย  Carl scratched the back of his neck before speaking. "Nโ€”nothing... it's fine."

ย  Ivy frowned slightly, obviously wanting to do anything to help return the smile to her friends face. "Are you sure?" She inquired sincerely, a faint grin tugging on her lips.

ย  Carls cerulean eyes met Ivys, his gaze softening ever so lightly. Ivys lips parted, her eyes flickering between his lips and his eyes. The grimes boys eyes fluttered as he practically melted under Ivys gaze.

ย  The way their eyes met were different this time. Maybe it was the sadness flowing through the both of them, or maybe it was pure pining, but all the two teenagers knew was that it was different.

ย  Suddenly, Carl snapped his gaze away from Ivys. The Castillo girl knitted her eyebrows together, utterly confused at the situation. Was that whole thing nothing? Did Carl not feel what Ivy felt, or did she simply just make all the feelings up.

ย  Carl quickly apologized and stood up, scurrying out of the room at a rapid walking pace.

ย  Ivys eyes widened as her jaw dropped slightly. "Are you kidding me?" She whispered to herself. She shook her head in disbelief as she spoke to herself. "I know i'm not crazyโ€” that was something!" She angrily plopped back onto the bed and groaned, closing her eyes with a dramatic sigh.

ย  Ivy knew getting upset over a boy in the height of an apocalypse was stupid and very selfish of her, but she couldn't help but feel upset. She wanted so badly for Carl to come to terms with the feelings he hopefully had about her, but Ivy knew not to get too hopeful.

ย  The girl sighed and sat up, running a hand through her hair. She knew she couldn't sulk in this room all day which didn't belong to her. She felt out of place, of course, because as she looked around the room, Ivy only saw a reflection of someone else. Of someone else's personality. The personality of the person who once lied in this bed, and who once lived with this room.

ย  Ivy began walking to the chipped bedroom door, her hand reaching for the rusted doorknob. Before she exited the room, she caught a glimpse of herself of the mirror that hung on the wall.

ย  Her eyes were heavy, and decorated with dark circles underneath which were the result of lack of sleep. Her skin was pale unlike her usual tan, and she was skinner than she should be.

ย  She took a deep breath in. It wasn't by choice, of course, but the way she looked bugged her. It bugged her that a fourteen year old girl should not look like this.

ย  Maybe that's why Carl didn't like her.
