๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—š๐—ฅ๐—ข๐—จ๐—ฃ had been walking for a bit. The sun was starting to set and the temperature was dropping. The walk was quite silent. It was weird, but it spared Ivy of any conversations she didn't want to have.

Carl reached into his bag and looked to Ivy and Michonne. He pulled crazy cheese out of his bag and put it towards the two girls.

"Crazy cheese?" Ivy shook her head no and so did Michonne. Michonne smiled at Carl and he smiled back. Ivy walked a bit ahead of the group and noticed a huge banner with a map underneath. Ivy whistled to get the group's attention.

"Sanctuary for all, community for all." Ivy read. "Those who arrive survive." The group came behind her and looked at the map as well.

"What do you think?" Michonne asked, looking at Rick.

"Let's go." Rick answered. "Let's go." Michonne and Rick walked ahead, but Carl stood beside Ivy.

"What's up with you?" Carl turned to look at her. The two started walking together.

"Nothin'." Ivy said.

"Bullshit." Rick heard that and turned his head, giving Carl a glare. "Sorry dad- but seriously, what's wrong?" Ivy wasn't in the mood to tell him that a bunch of pedophiles we're talking about fucking a 14 year old.

"I'm fine." Ivy rolled her eyes. "Just kinda upsetโ€” those dickwads have my tote bag with the stuff I found, and Beth's jeans." Carl laughed a bit at the girl.

"Alright, when we find Beth I bet she'll let you steal all her jeans." Carl laughed.

"How do you know she's alive?" Carls face dropped and looked at Ivy with a sad look.

"You can't think like that-"

"How do we know if anyone is alive?" Ivy inquired. Michonne and Rick tried their best to not eavesdrop, but they couldn't help it.

"If we're alive I bet everyone else is alive. Our people are strong. They're still alive, I know it." Carl grabbed Ivy's hand and interlocked their hands. Ivy smiled slightly at Carl as the continued walking.

Ivy was so lucky to have Carl. She adored him. He always made her feel safe. Carl kept her sane, and she appreciated it dearly.

ย  ย ย  The next day, the group was still on the move. Ivy and Rick had walked ahead of Michonne and Carl. Michonne, Carl, and Rick had conversations, but Ivy not so much.

Ivy never knew what to say in moments like these. That's why she was always so quiet with her parents. She always felt like if she said something, she would say the wrong thing.

Ivy stayed close by Rick most the time. They were walking on a train track at the moment. The way to terminus wasn't too confusing. The root was mostly straight.

"I think we got about a day's worth of water left." Rick spoke. Ivy nodded in response. "We're lucky it's cooled off a little bit, but...." Rick turned around and so did Ivy.

Carl and Michonne were walking against the edges of the train tracks, trying to balance. Ivy's mouth gaped in confusion at the two.

"What are you doing?" Rick asked.

"Winning a bet." Carl answered.

"In your dreams." Michonne said.

Ivy laughed a bit at the two. "My moneys on Michonne." Ivy told Rick.

"I don't know... I'm with Carl." Rick shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm still on." Carl started stumbling a bit.

"You spoke too soon, wise guy." Michonne chuckled. Rick started walking towards the two.

"This might go on a while. Maybe we can speed this up."

"Yeah, you're right." Michonne said. "Shouldn't be fooling around." Ivy could see the smirk grown on Michonnes lips.

"We should probablyโ€” carl!" Michonne pushed her hand towards Carl, but her plan quickly failed when she was the one to fall. Ivy groaned.

"I win." Carl smiled. "Pay up." Carl stuck his hand out. Michonne grabbed two candy bars. "Is that really the last big cat?" Carl reached for the big cat.

"Oh, come on!" Michonne sighed.

"Hey, but you said winners choice." Carl smiled.

"Go ahead. Take it, it's yours." Michonne handed the candy bar over to him. "You won it, fair and square."

Carl opened the candy bar and snapped it in half. He handed one half to Ivy and then snapped the other half. He handed one of the smaller pieces to Michonne.

"Sorry Michonne, but Ivy's gotta eat something." Carl explained. Michonne smiled widely and looked at Ivy. Ivy was blushing and had to look down at her feet. Rick also took notice of that and laughed.

"Thanks." Ivy spoke. Michonne popped her piece into her mouth and hummed in happiness. Ivy took a bite out of hers and the group continued to walk. Carl took her free hand and held it.

"I hope terminus is a nice place." Carl injected, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, me too." Ivy agreed. "Maybe there will be kids our age."

"Yeah.. Maybe you can finally get a boyfriend. You can live out your romance novel fantasies." Carl laughed. Ivy laughed along awkwardly.

I want you to be my boyfriend. Ivy thought.

Carl didn't want to see Ivy with another man. He wanted to be with her. He never knew how to share his feelings, and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable by just kissing her. He just wanted to love her and make her feel safe.

The sun was starting to set so the group headed into the woods. They found a quiet and empty spot, started a fire, and tried to settle down.

Ivy had been laying on the ground, sprawled out. Carl sat next to her, in front of the fire.

"How hungry are you on the scale of 1 to 10?" Rick asked Carl.

"15."

Rick looked to Michonne.

"28."

Rick looked to the girl laying like a starfish.

"237."

Everyone laughed.

"Well, it's been a while. I'm gonna go check the snares." Rick stood up.

"Can I go with you?" Carl asked. Rick smiled a bit.

"Well, how else are you gonna learn?" Rick said. Carl looked at Ivy and Ivy sat up.

"Be safe." Ivy kissed his forehead and Carl nodded.

"Nun-uh. You and Michonne are coming too."

"Rick." Ivy groaned, dragging out the K. Michonne laughed and stood up. She picked up her sword and put her hand out for Ivy. Ivy grabbed Michonnes hand and jumped up. Ivy grabbed her gun and held it by her side.

Ivy slumped along behind the three, making Carl stop and wait for her. Once she reached him, he threw his arm around her shoulder.

"You'll be fine." Carl smiled.

"I'm so tired." Ivy yawned.

"We all are. When we get to terminus you can sleep as much as you want." Carl assured her.

"Yeah, sleeping in beds is gonna be nice, if they have them." Ivy said.

"They will. I think it'd be pretty criminal to take in people and have no beds." Carl laughed. Ivy laughed as well and she rested her head slightly on his shoulder.

Rick and Michonne took a quick glance back at the kids.

"When you have a kid... you never think anyone's good enough for them. But Ivyโ€” she's perfect for Carl. She's his rock." Rick stated to Michonne. "After Lori I- I didn't think he was capable of loving."

"He actually talked to me about her. He said he couldn't wait to see her again because he was gonna do it. He was gonna make a move." Rick laughed. "He even asked for permission. But he said he's gonna wait to ask Daryl or Glenn."

"Why would he ask Daryl or Glenn?" Michonne inquired.

"He said he wants to be authentic. He wants to ask for either one's blessing. They're the closest thing Ivy's gonna ever get to a father again, so Carl thought it was only right if he waited."

Michonne smiled widely at that. "You're raising a great kid. I knew he was a gentleman but, wow... I didn't think men even thought about permission anymoreโ€” let alone a fourteen year old."

"Yeah. He's more of a man then I'll ever be." Rick smiled.

"We'll stay another day or two." Rick spoke a little louder so the kids behind them could hear. "Get some more rest."

"Sounds great to me." Ivy rubbed her tired eyes.

"Finish healing up?" Michonne asked.

"I'm almost there." Rick answered.

"We're close now, right?" Carl spoke as he removed his arm from Ivy's shoulder. Ivy whined and threw his arm back over her shoulder.

"To terminus?"

"Yeah."

"We are." Rick nodded.

"When we get there, are we gonna tell them?" Carl inquired. Carls words managed to slow down the walking of the group. Ivy looked up at Carl with a confused look.

"Tell them what?" Michonne asked.

"Everything that's happened to us." Carl stated. "All the stuff we've done. Are we gonna tell them the truth?"

"We're gonna tell them who we are." Rick said.

"But how do you say that, I mean...." Carl trailed off. "Who are we?"

"We're survivors, Carl." Ivy spoke. Rick smiled at her before snapping his head towards a walker coming towards them. Ivy, Carl, and Rick all reached for their guns. Michonne grabbed her sword and walked before them. Michonne sliced the blade through its head and continued walking.

"I want to be Michonne when I grow up." Ivy stared in awe.

"You're such a dork." Carl giggled.

"Says you, giggles."

"I didn't giggle!" Carl defended himself.

"Oh yeah ya' did." Ivy laughed. Carl shook his head vigorously.

"No I didn't!" Carl denied.

"Ranger Rickโ€” more like Ranger Giggles." Ivy joked.

"I don't find you entertaining." Carl muttered.

"Yes you do!"

"Yeah, I do."
