Hello all,
Firstly, wishing you all a very happy New Year! New Year means new beginnings, new ways to look at life and a new perspective.

2020 has taught us a lot of things because after all, important lessons of life and survival are learnt amidst struggles, difficulties and in times of need! True, it wasn't a very pleasant year or a memorable one even when considered in a good sense. True, it destroyed the lives of many. True, many just wanted it to end. But despite all this, it's important to bid a proper goodbye to this year which actually taught us the value of life!

On this occasion of the commencement of a new year, let's embrace it wholeheartedly and with hope and optimism of things getting better. Let us let go off the bitter memories and negativities of 2020 and only then step into 2021.

Let us inculcate the lessons and values learnt and put them into leading life in a better way. May the year 2021 bring with it lots of happiness and prosperity. Stay safe! Stay healthy! And once again, a very happy New Year!

The International New Year it is, to zaahir si baat hai ki sabse pyaare celebrations to Churches mein hi hote honge. And on the top of it, New Year comes within a week after Christmas, which makes people be surrounded by festive vibes and excitement all around.

With the fragrances of candles, and blissful sounds of carols, along with valuable sermons, the new year celebrations in churches are the a to be enjoyed idea. The beautiful decorations and peaceful surroundings enchant not just Christians, but all the people around.

For Sikhs, although they have a separate New Year according to the Sikh calendar, but this international New Year is always a little more special. Very less people know that in Sikhism, the month of December is considered the month of sacrifices (Poh da Maheena), when the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, his mother, his four young sons, and many other Sikh soldiers sacrificed their lives in various battles for the protection of Hinduism and Sikhism. This makes the New Year even more special, for Sikhs celebrate it, as not just the beginning of a new year, but also the end of the sacrificing period which leads to the beginning of a new month, wherein proper revenges were taken by Banda Singh Bahadur and other Sikh soldiers against the cruel Mughal rulers, and many Hindu ladies were also freed from the holds of Mughals.

Hence, New Year is always a grand occasion in Sikhism and is celebrated in a grand way by showering flowers and flower petals on Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the holy book of Sikhs, along with free food supply (Langar) in masses.

A happiest New Year to everyone present here! The date of January 1st is like the first page of a new book, so make sure you write something positive and encouraging in it! Every year brings its own colour pallets, so it's totally on our own if we want to fill it with bright colours or dull colours... These colours will influence our present and future as well.. To all those who feel depressed or disappointed about their past, I have a message for them: This year would be a new start for all of you. The past is your lesson, the present is your engine and the future is your motivation..

Those who have this opinion that 2020 is the worst year and stuff, I don't agree, the year was not worst, only, the circumstances were worst.. It's not the fault of 2020.

All I want to convey is the year 2021 would come with new and fresh hopes, so make atleast one New Year resolution for yourself and endeavour to achieve it!

Celebrations in Hindu temples and mosques, both of them don't really happen owing to the calendars of their own religions that they follow, i.e. the Hindu calendar and the Islamic calendar. In some states like Andhra Pradesh, the government has even banned the new year celebration in temples so that people get more attracted towards the Hindu Calander celebrations. Hence, the people only party around and enjoy according to their wishes and no particular religious celebrations are held in temples and mosques.
