It's been a long day for Avery, actually it has been a long three-four days for her. Three days ago, her boyfriend had got a bit angry at the waiter at a cafe that the two were at for a date.
The waiter decided that it was funny to mention Avery's weight loudly and not in a nice way at all. It had made the girl shrink into herself, tugging at her shirt as she felt eyes on her fugure. She hated when people stared at her, she can hear their nasty yet truthful comments about her body in her mind and it makes her feel even worse.
She had wished that the chair would've have swallowed her up right then and there, tears welling up in her eyes as the tought of a diet flashed in her mind once again.
But the last time she went on a diet and not tell anyone, she had ended up in the hospital for over a month because she'd starve herself.
Dakota, her boyfriend was livid when it happened but not with her. Never at her, not his girl. He was livid with the people that made her want to change her body even when she's utterly perfect. He visited her at the hospital every single day and he'd stay until he was forced to leave. He has always been her biggest supporter.
Moving on, the waiter obviously ticked Dakota off which is how his fist collided with the waiter's jaw causing it to break. The sickening sharp crunch was heard throughout the entire cafe as the waiter fell to fall, unconscious.
Avery rushed to her boyfriend's aid, her hands cupping his cheeks as she tries to calm him down. He was known to have an explosive temper since he was a kid. But it was never directed at his girl and he would make sure that it would never happen as well.
She's his lifeline, he hurts her, he hurts himself.
When she had touched him, he was hot, burning to the touch and it worried her greatly. He was also shaking, trembling as his jaw was clenched. She wasn't able to say a thing as he handed her his keys for his car so she wouldn't have to walk, then kisses her forehead gently before he leaves the cafe and his confused and distressed girlfriend behind.
He had no choice, he didn't want to hurt her and he knew something was up with him. He felt it and he needed to get away from Avery, to keep her safe.
And he stayed away for three whole ass days. He didn't answer her calls but he'd message her back sometimes and when she came over, Billy would tell the teen that Dakota wasn't feeling good.
It hurt Billy to lie to the concerned teen but he had too, he saw her as family and he always will.
"Still nothing?" Jessica Stanley questions her friend as the girl sits down with her at the table in the canteen. The two have been friends for years, including Angela Weber who sat on the otherside of Avery with a worried gaze. "Mhm," Avery says softly, rubbing her fingers over her face. She was stressed, barely able to eat but forced herself to do, not wanting to end back up in the hospital.
It wasn't fun there and it was extra cold there as well.
"I just don't know what I di-," Avery was instantly cut off by both her friends. "Oh hell no, you didn't do shit." Jessica states firmly. "It's on him, not you." Angela says at the same time as Jessica does.
Neither noticed Isabella sitting down at the table with them, eying them as Eric and Mike sits down as well. Isabella is a new student, just started today actually and Avery was tasked with showing her around for the day.
"Avvy, you're amazing. Maybe Dakota is going through something and just needs some time to himself." Angela adds with a soft smile, making Avery smile at her friends. She's thankful to have them in her life honestly.
Suddenly Isabella clears her throat, abit annoyed that none of them had noticed her until she made herself known.
What's more important than her feeling welcomed at this new school?
"Need something?" Jessica asks Isabella with an arched brow causing the girl to bristle at the question and tone. She had not expected it. "Uh, just wanted to ask a question." She replies as she glances at Avery who was on her phone, frowning deeply as she texted someone.
And the Swan girl wondered who she's texting and why she's so sadden. If you haven't realized, Isabella's a nosey girl. "What's the question?" Jessica asks Bella as she too glances over at Avery, worry evident in her eyes.
Her eyes met Angela's and the two felt utterly horrible. Not only because their friend is suffering but because the two of them knew exactly why Dakota was avoiding Avery.
They know all about the wolves, about the Cullens as well, it's why they'd keep their distance from the family.
Angela's dating Paul Lahote. He's a wolf, a hothead and her imprintee. Jessica is dating Jared Cameron, the imprint was a surprise not only to her but Angela too. But she and Jared seemed to be a perfect match. So they know why Avery's sadly suffering and yet can't tell her anything. Not because they don't want too but Sam came up with 101 reasons for them both to keep their mouths shut.
They aren't sure for how long they'll be able to do so though. Seeing their friend like this hurts, alot. All they could do is comfort her as best as they could, letting her know that she isn't at fault.
And they really hope that she's Dakota's imprint. When Sam mentioned that she may not be, it took Paul and Jared to get the male off of the 'alpha'. It was utterly enjoyable to watch though. And though Jared and Paul used their full strenght to pull Dakota off of Sam, it took them over an hour to do so.
Neither Angela nor Jessica liked Sam or Emily. At first they liked Emily until they heard the story of her and Sam. And she saw not a damn thing wrong with what happened. And they never liked Sam as he acted like he was the shit.
He is the shit but the not the kind he's thinking he is.
"Who are they?" Isabella asks while she tilts her head over at the other entrance of the canteen, nibbling on her bottom lip almost shyly. Jessica and Angela look over to where she was subtly pointing at while Avery kept her eyes on her phone.
She already knew who the girl meant as it could only be the Cullen's since they're mostly the center of attention at Forks.
Not just at the school neither as many would talk about Mr. and Mrs. Cullen and how they're hoping that the couple is looking for a third.
Was it because of their looks or because they're rich? Both obviously but mostly because they're rich.
Plus she knew who Isabella was talking about also because of the sense of dread that washed over her and her grip onto her phone slightly tightened, her heart racing. She felt alert, more so than she's ever been and she has no idea why. The Cullen's creeped her out for some reason and she wasn't sure if she wanted to find out why.
And while Angela and Jessica explains who they are to Isabella, she stays on her phone, hoping to get a reply from her boyfriend.
Sitting in Emily and Sam's livingroom is an annoyed and fustrated Dakota. He is hunched over slightly, face in his hands as he thought about his girlfriend all she is going through because of this shit.
He tries texting her as much as he could but Sam had taken to putting on him so many patrols, saying that it's just to get him used to it. Yet he didn't do that with Jared and Paul, they spoke up on it too. Then Sam brought up the fact that the male was a hothead as if Paul also was not one.
Dakota didn't get to speak with his girl much and he hated it, he misses her so damn much. He misses her voice, her laugh and giggles, her body pressed up against his. He misses the way that he fingers would comb through his hair, the way her soft lips would press up against his jaw and his lips. He misses her eyes, her smile, the way her nose twitches just before she'd sneezed. The male misses the way she would want to watch either Caroline or The Dukes Of Hazzard over and over again while they're cuddled up on the bed, snacks on the blanket.
He misses the way she'd hum when she is baking him a new sweet treat and he misses the way she would hold him. He misses the sound of her heart beat and he misses watching her model her new clothing for him.
God, he misses everything about her and everything seems to only reming him of her.
How much longer is he suppose to take this?
The only reason he hadn't went to her on the first day was because he didn't have conrol over his emotions and he would shift alot. And he didn't want to accidently hurt his girl.
"I turn into a large fucking dog?" He grits out as he removes his hands from off his face, eyes filled with anger as he looked right at Sam. "What am I suppose to tell my girlfriend?!" He suddenly yells out at the male who seems hellbent on keeping him either here or on patrol as of he no longer has a life. And he was suppose to just accept this shit? "Wolf actuall-" Sam starts saying before he's cut off. "I don't give a fuck, what am I suppose to tell my girlfriend?" Dakota asks as his anger just grows.
He had so much on his mind, giving up being the 'alpha', learning what the hell he is and such yet all he can really think about is his girlfriend.
He's thankful for Angela and Jessica as they tell him how she is but it breaks his heart hearing how much she's hurting. The two imprints promised that they'll make sure that Avery eats and he's glad for that fact.
"Nothing, you break up with her." Sam states firmly to the male, his voice filled with authority, meaning he had used his 'alpha voice' on Dakota.
Either Sam was stupid or hadn't learned his lesson already as Dakota listened to no one but himself and Avery. Hell only sometimes he'd listen to his father and Sam thinks he'd listen to him?
Especially with that 'request'?
Both Jared and Paul backed away while Sam gave them both a look feeling as his form tensed. He oddly felt like 'prey' at the moment. And when his eyes met the light hazel eyes of Dakota, he knew that the male was the 'predator'.
He felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as Dakota just stared at him in a way that made him uncomfortable and oddly intimidated.
"I'm not doing that," Dakota grits out, a low growl twinged with his words as he stood up from his seat. "And you won't make me." He adds and Sam says silent as he knew that he couldn't.
His silent made Dakota hum before he glances over at his friends. "Why do we turn into giant dogs again?" He asks as when they explained, he was too busy thinking about Avery and what he was going to tell her.
"Vampires." Jared and Paul reply as Sam was just glad that his imprint was at the store for this. Dakota'a nose wrinkles at the word before his jaw clenches and he take a deep breath to keep as calm as he can. "The Cullens?" He asks and once the two males nodded their heads, he shifts.
Thankfully he didn't break anything as he did and they watched as he ran off in the woods. Well, Jared and Paul watches while Sam calls out for the male, trying to get him to come back, even using his 'alpha voice' which made the two other wolves roll their eyes.
"It doesn't work on him," Paul says with a blank look on his face. It was obvious honestly. But by the look of shook that's on Sam's face, maybe it just wasn't that obvious.
Or their Alpha is just dumb.
Avery, Jessica and Angela were all fed up with Isabella. They were all walking out the school building as the school day is finally over and the teen won't stop with the same damn question.
A few minutes back, they waited for her outside her biology for her. Avery's her guide but Jessica and Angela decided to tag along, thankfully their teacher was okay with it. The literal second that the bell rang, Edward rushes out of the class surprising the three girls since he exited so quickly. It made Avery tense and her thoughts ran wild as she wonders about the feeling of death she felt when she's near any of the Cullen's.
Edward had glanced at her and it made the feeling worse even if it was just one mere glance.
Then Isabella came out the classroom a few seconds later, an bewildered look on her face which lead them to asking her if she was okay and what was wrong. And as they walked towards the office, Bella explained her encounter with Edward, a frown on her lips. She even asked them if she smelt bad which they all said 'no' too as she smelt like shampoo honestly. Angela and Jessica has a feeling on why Edward acted the way he did and Avery just felt odd.
She felt a pool of apprehension bleed into her stomach and she didn't like it one bit.
Then when they reached the office, the Cullen was there and trying to switch out of biology but was out of luck. The look he gave Bella was one of hate- or it looked like it before he left the office in a hurry.
Now onto the problem, Isabella kept on asking them if they were sure that she didn't smell bad, asking questions about the Cullen's like they're suppose to know.
"For the 65th time, Bella, no. You do not smell bad." Avery says in annoyance as she pinches the bridge of her nose. "The Cullen's are weird, no one understands them." She adds on causing her friends to agree. "Yeah, Avvy's right so just don't question their odd ways." Jessica says as she bites back a yawn.
Dealing with a new girl is hard work it seems.
Isabella huffs at their words, not liking their answers nor their words about the family, especially Edward. "Don't talk of them like that," she sneers at Avery and Jessica who arch their brows.
"Fine then, you smell like baby shit, hot garbage and stank pussy." Avery says to Isabella with a fake smile on her lips as the girls mouth drops open in surprise at her words, face flushed red while Jessica and Angela laughs. "Have a good rest of your day," Avery adds before she walks off, telling her friends bye as she goes off towards her car.
Well not her car but her boyfriend's car.
She feels a pang in her chest and felt as her eyes welled up with tears but fought them back. Crying can wait until she got home. Avery was way too caught up in her mind to notice the pointing and the whispering, her eyes guled onto her feet as she walks.
"Avery," a comfortingly familiar voice says as she neared the car and she felt her heart skip a beat as she halts. Was she hearing things? She slowly looks up, her chestnut coloured eyes meeting his light hazel ones.
She stares at the male while he stared at her, his lips parted as tears well up in his eyes while staring at his entire world.
"Kota?" Avery mumbles and he instantly turned into a puddle of goo. He missed this so fucking much. "Yeah, it's me." He says softly as his lips tugged into a smile after seeing what he was hoping to see on his run here.
He prayed for her to be his imprint, he would go crazy if she wasn't.
And damn, she's looking as stunning as ever.
[Her outfit, heels, hair, necklace and nails.]
The chubby dark skinned teen stares at him longer, he looked different but not that much so. He was buffer, more than he already was. His hair was shorter, it used to be almost passed his lower back but it was now barely shoulder lenght. He was taller which she didn't think she would see coming as she thought his ass was tall enough already but apparently not. He wore a pair of sweats and just a plain teen shirt with timberland boots on his feet. She also noticed a tattoo on his upper arm as well, noting that he'd gotten it in the three days he's been no cont- well barely in contact with her.
Dakota pushes off of his car as his girl starts to make her way towards him, her bag slipping from her hands and onto the ground but she did not give a fuck.
She wasted no time hugging the male as tightly as possible, her face burying into his chest as he held her tightly, his face nuzzling into her hair as he took in her scent. It was even more addicting now than it was before and he didn't know that was possible.
"My sweet girl," he breathes out while he nuzzles his face more into her hair while Jessica and Angela watched with smiles on their faces, knowing that he had done what they hoped he would. "I'm so sorry that I haven't seen you or really talk to you for three days, I'll explain and make it up to you, I promise." He adds lowly as he presses a kiss against his head. Avery was just glad that he's back and still her Dakota honestly.
Did she want to know what happened?? Hell fucking yeah but sh- that can wait a bit. Right now she just wants to be in his arms.
The male can hear the whispers and he almost scoffs loudly at the amount of people that thought they broke up. As if he'd ever let such a thing happen.
Not on his damn watch. Even if she was not his imprint, he wasn't breaking up with her. He knew from the moment he met her that she was the one and some ancestors weren't going to fucking tell his ass otherwise.
My girl, my imprint. He thinks happily. He saw it all, their future and it was the second most perfect thing he's ever laid his eyes on, the first being Avery.

Over 3230 words.
I wasn't planning on having Angela and Jessica as imprints in this book as they arw imprints in my other one but I was like what the hell? They aren't really included in books nor brought into the supernatural world in them neither so oh well.
