Emmanuella POV

The raining season was over and the sun was back like it never left this early Friday morning. I was listen to Tired by Alan walker while getting dressed for school, that was only because Kelvin and the guys came over to my house yesterday pleading with me to come today. I just hope I don't regrets it though the main reason why I was going was because I missed out on three weeks of learning. And you know what they said too much of any thing is bad.

I was combing my black Luscious waist lent hair to the back, and before you ask, yes its is my real hair, remember both my parents aren't fully Nigeria. I had already loosened the hair style i made that landed me to the hospital. I decide to just wash it and wear it down using is crimson brown Alice band to hold it in place. I added a little lip gloss and powder before carry my already packed bag and headed out.

Once I got downstairs I greeted my dad who was sitting in parlor and went to look for my mom. On getting to the kitchen where she was making breakfast she stopped what she was doing and enveloped me in a bear hug that was soo tight it was quit difficult to breath.

"Mom. can't . Breath. "

I managed to say and she let me go immediately and finally air moved freely in my lungs. She heaved a sigh and apologized and I told her not to worry about it. She returned to breakfast which was waffles and caramels syrup, and while she was rounding up, my sisters came into the kitchen after greeting our dad. They hugged me first before greeting mom and helped her set the table from breakfast. Once it was all set we gathered round to have breakfast but before we started Eating, my dad cleared his throat to speak and I was surprised because he almost never does that.

" where do I start. look around at his family The events of this past few weeks had got me wondering, how everything can change in a blink of an eye. And I just want you all go know that, ever single one of you are the pieces that to put my heart together. I might not say it often but, I love you, I love you all. Especially you Akintoye Esther Adetokunbo I love you soo much and Dont you ever forget that, you are my one and only happy ever after and I wouldn't have it any other way my love. And yes in case your wondering, we made up. The though of loosing Emma was just Soo overwhelming, we had to burry the hatchet knowing there was no other way. We had to fight for what we love and we love you Emma we all do. Besides its going to take a little more than a set up to make me look like I was cheating on my wife; to break this family apart. Cheers, to family!!! "

He said giving my mom a quick kiss on the lips. And we all responded in Union saying

" to family! "

Raising our glasses of orange juice for a toast while tears where flowing from our eye like an endless river. We all drank to it before finally digging into out meal sustaining random conversation.

"Soo, you're finally going to school today huh "

"Yea, i kind of got tired of not learning. "

" you really are a nerd aren't You"

"Maybe just a little"

I chuckled nervous responding to Zoey's comment but my dad responded defending me with a lopsided smile saying

"Hey Zoeyy back off. She my little nerd "

"Okay father I was just saying "

She responded raising both hands in mocking surrender before giggling and asking The One question I've been dreading to hear and answer.

"Soo sis, how's the every Friday therapy going? Great I hope... You still haven't really told us what promoted you to think about ending your life. "

"Zoey!!! "

My mom scolded glaring at her and she responded courtly

"What?!?, I'm just saying I'm curious. Don't you all wanna know. "

"She'll tell us when she is ready Zoey don't push it or you might trigger something else"

My mom said the last part in a low whisper scolding Zoey for asking such a question out of the blues like that. After which she said to me

"Don't listen to her okay, take your time baby, when ever you are ready. "

I gave her a weary smile before we finish the rest of out breakfast in silence. Once we were done, dad helped mom with the dishes while Addie and Zoey went upstairs to get ready for there day. i bade mom and dad goodbye before i went to meet Kelvin and his older brother who we're already waiting for me in the car. we had just left their drive way when my two sister came rushing toward the car asking if they could get a lift. My sister Zoey was forward enough to ask as she said.

"Hey denisss how you dooin-- can we get a lift"

"Urrmm... I'm trying to take your sister to school Soo... I'm not sure--"

"K sure, you can just drop her off first."

With that Zoey entered the front sit while Addie, Kelvin and I occupied the back as we all headed to our school first. The drive was pretty quiet not to mention awkward, Zoey couldn't take the silence so she decided to fill the silence with music. She turned on the radio after and after song Tired by Alan walker was playing. After a while when were getting closer to our school Denis asked Addie

"Soo Addie--"

"Its Eniola to you"

"Right Eniola, would you like to go out with me tomorrow... say Movies by 6 "

"Movie are Soo overrated. Besides I'd be having headache tomorrow. "

She responded with a bored expression on her face. She Sat beside me and that was directly behind the driver's side. Denis looked through the mirror, giving her a questioning and confused look but she shrugged her shoulder before she confirmed what she said.

"What?? I have headaches by that time every Saturday"

"Ooh... oohkay... How a... About later today?... Same time"

Denis asked stuttering as we slowly approached our school. Poor Denis I wonder what he did that made my sister hate him like that. But the response she gave was sure to break even the strongest of heart as she said

"Oh, oh I.. I.. I would but you see my sister, she has this thing and I have to help her with it right Emmanuella? "

She ask through clenched teeth and i glared at her refusing to respond and aid her bailing out on poor Denis again. When she notice I wasn't going to speak, she pinched me and stepped on my foot lightly causing me to give a positive reply through clenched teeth as well.

"AOu yeah she did"

"Exactly and I can't leave my sweet sister hanging. Oh goody we are your school bye bye now Emma"

She said with a big grin on her face and i frowned at her for using me as cover up. She only winked at me as she waved bye to Kelvin and I who just got down from the car. As the car zoomed off we headed inside the school compound and immediately I entered, I was enveloped in a group hug from the guys who I didn't realize have been waiting patiently for me at the gate of the school.

4:13pm

I was having another section with the therapist, and even though I had insisted that I want to go on my own, Kelvin didn't let that happen. He has been coming here with me ever since I tried to kill myself. we come here every Friday and since today was Friday I'm here again sitting in from of Hamidah my therapist.

"Soo how's my favorite patient doing?"

I scoffed saying

" your only patient you mean"

" urgh, you make it seem like its bad thing"

"No its not, its just unusual. "

" well you know, therapy isn't really encouraged here in Nigeria as a whole and Lagos to be specific. Even though they plead with the public to visit a therapist when they have something to talk about, They won't. you're one of the very few people that you know listen to those pleads, so that's how we ended up here. But enough about Lagos, Nigeria and it's messed up situation. how are you? "

"I'm fine thanks for asking and how are doing today "

"I'm doing great actuall--- hey don't the the table around again, this is about you not me so, take your time to think and answer the question. "

"Oh alright. I haven't had any nightmares lately or thought about killing my self either. "

"Oh well that's good news, it means what ever it is we are doing is working. So have you told any one else as why you... "

"Noo just you, you know now that I think about it, I feel really silly, silly for trying to end my life."

"Oh really why did you say so. "

"Well to be honest, I have a great life; with family and friends who love me so much but. The truth is I was tired of pretending that, I was going to have a happy ending. I was so sick and tired of staring at the perfect picture with a broken frame. Sooo I thought maybe if I ended my life it'll fix everything that was broken. "

I revealed to her.

"Wow that's really deep. It will do you some good If you itemized this thing that you felt were broken, maybe we can start fixing them one by one from there"

"Well for starts Victoria was the number one issue. She was always coming at me accusing me for every of her down fall. And then when I joined the Basketball team without having to Merit it she was furious. Even more furious when we got a Bronze in our Annual sport tournament because I flopped in basketball match. "

"Yikes, there will always be people like her every where you go. You just have to know the smart way to handle situations that involve them. Don't ever let them get to you because once they see that they've gotten to you, you are not going to like the outcome of how they will use you to their advantage. I've seen different cases of that so I know what I'm talking about. Next item "

"well, things always appear easier when you break them down. "

"Well there's my parents they are everything to me, the day we had a family outing, it ended on a sour note as we got to know that my dad had a concubine. I didn't believe it because it just didn't add up I mean from where to where. I've known my dad to been very faithful and now this? I guess its kind of made me feel guilty that, if only we didn't go for the family outing maybe we wouldn't have found out about my dad cheating or having a concubine, so that was another thing. "

"Oh Emmanuella I am Soo sorry about your parent I didn't --"

"Don't be; turns out it was all a part of a big setup. My dad having a concubine thing, couldn't happen it just couldn't. The day I said to get to the bottom of that its the same day we all Almost got killed by some woman named Drizella iwafor, she tried to kill us all and i was terrified. I was mortified and it turns out that she's been after our family ever since my mum and dad were together. It was really scary and terrifying and what was even more terrifying was when she appeared in my dream turning my family against me. That was all it took, that's why did what I did "

I finished crying my eyes out again at the end of my statement. This is the second time I'm telling the story and I still couldn't tell it without busting into tears. She pacified me giving me to time collect my self before she responded to what i said

"Well That's a shocking revelation. But I want you to be rest assured. No harm shall come to you because she is now safely behind the bars in prison. So don't let her actions of ending your family's life get to you or your sub conscience ok. "

"Okay "

I smiled at her as we continued our discussion. We even talked about Kelvin little bit and this had me blushing uncontrollably. Once it was 5:00pm the section was over and Denis came to pick up Kelvin and I as we both headed home.
