"BECCA! BECCA! WAKE UP!"

i groaned, rolling over on my stomach, and slamming my face into my pillow, "five more—"

"becca!"a screech made my head snap up, and i found tinsley jumping on my bed with a princess tiara falling off her head, "wake up!"

"tinsley what the hell."i mumbled, before pulling her down next to me, making her screech again, "stay with me for a little bit so we can sleep."

"nope!"she yelled, before grabbing my hand and starting to drag me off the bed, "wake up!"

"you just aren't going to give up are you?"i mumble, and tinsley shakes her head.

sliding out of bed with a sigh, i picked up the girl, carrying her downstairs to breakfast with mama grace and kolby over.

"i see you had a nice wakeup."kolby chuckles, and i groan.

i was home alone — with kolby checking up on me — and uncle chris was in atlanta to deal with something for mama, along with nana and papa.

"the one time i'd like to sleep in after getting a good nights sleep, i'm woken up by a screaming princess."i glare down at tinsley who ran into the living room laughing.

"morning."i muttered, grabbing a strawberry out of something mama grace was making, earning a slap to my hand.

"do you know what time uncle chris is coming back?"i asked leaning up against the counter, and kolby shook his head, "he said by late afternoon or early tonight."

even if it was over a month since the accident, something had popped up with mom's lawyer, which required them to go to atlanta.

looking around, i noticed my best friend missing, and i furrowed my eyebrows, before looking back at mama grace, "where's your son today? considering he wasn't the one who woke me up."

"said he had to go do something in athens for a little bit."she explained, as kolby tried to get something of whatever she was making causing her to swat at him, "i didn't question it."

nodding, i went into the living room finding one of my old favorite tv shows on, and tinsley staring intensely.

"did you pick the show?"i asked, plopping down next to her and she nodded, "good choice."

we sat in silence for awhile, watching the nick show, before tinsley crawled onto my lap, putting her head on my shoulder.

i could feel myself falling asleep as we sat there waiting for breakfast to be finished but i didn't care.

my breathing steadied, as everything darkened around me.

and then i was out like a light.

FEELING MYSELF BEING SHIFTED AROUND,

my heavy eyes opened a bit, but quickly closed after light blinded me.

under the sea from the little mermaid playing from some tv or phone, i snuggled myself closer in the blankets, with warmth greeting me.

"when's becca gonna wake up?"

a little sigh escaped my lips realizing that i wasn't going back to sleep.

"i'm not sure tins, but let's let her sleep, she hasn't gotten a bunch of sleep the last few weeks."preston told her, and a small smile fell onto my face.

i had the best, best friend anyone could ever ask for.
