TAKE TWO 4x1
FOUR MONTHS LATER
"Hello," Sam nods at Addisonβthe practice was going to the ceremony they were holding for Dell.
"Hi," Addison swallowed, her sister following behind her, trying to catch up with her crutches.
She didn't exactly need the crutches, but it still hurt a bit to walk on her leg. Her arm was still stiff after being in a cast for all that timeβand her hip was still in rough shape, but she was managing.
Sam walked away and Amelia started to walk past, a cigarette placed between her lips, her getting ready to light it.
"Okay, do not even think," Addison ripped the cigarette from between Amelia's lips. "about smoking this."
"I'm going to go find Charlotte," Athena smiled kindly towards Amelia, earning a nod from the Shepherd.
Their relationship-slash-friendship was complicated. Amelia still hadn't fully forgiven the other brunette, but was working towards it.
The bottom of her crutches could be heard on the concrete until she hit the grass.
"One quick one before we gβ"
"Since when did you start smoking?" Addison slid her sunglasses to the top of her head.
"Since Derek took a bullet to the chest," Amelia shrugged, not thinking it was that big of a deal.
"Ameliaβ"
"No, I am not going to Seattle," Amelia tried not to roll her eyes at the red head. "He won't even return my calls. He does not want to see me." She shook her head.
"You're afraid," Addison tilted her head. "Of more things than one."
"Uh, you passed on a relationship with with Sam. Who is basically perfect, because you were afraid. I mean, you guys don't even speak anymore. So you can save the therapy talkβand stay out of Athena's and I's business," Amelia said, grabbing another cigarette from her pocket and lifted it to her lips.
"Give," Addison takes the cigarette, "Give!" She shouted, holding her hand out until Amelia put the pack in her hand.
Addison walks off, finding the rest of the group, Amelia trailing close behind.
"I don't know about the stone," Pete observed the tombstone. "Gray seemed.. elegant. Is it too dull? Because I can get them to do another one."
"It's nice," Cooper responded.
"It is," Addison agreed.
"You did a great job," Naomi nods.
"Dell would've liked it."
"Yeah, Dell would've liked that we're all here together for the unveiling," Athena responded, stretching her leg out.
"I can't believe we're here. We're doing this," Charlotte said disbelievingly.
"I can't believe Dell is dead," Athena swallowed the lump in her throat.
"I know," Violet crossed her arms over her chest. "Dell is dead. What the hell is going on with the world? I mean, Athena almost died."
"I was just thinking the same thing. About William this past week. I mean, he's dying. How could it be that William is dying?" Naomi put her hands on her hips.
"How could it be that Maya got hit by a drunk driver? My child?" Sam asked aloud, Naomi turning to her ex-husband.
"Yeah, well, my brother got shot by a crazed gunman. I mean, the worlds a crappy place," Amelia said, being the pessimist she is.
"It's a beautiful headstone, though," Naomi got the group back on track.
"Pete and I are getting married," Violet said, trying to enlighten the mood. "I know, maybe I shouldn't have said anything yet. But.." She laughs, looking at Pete. "Iβ I thought we could use some happy news."
The group chuckles, moving in closer to the newly engaged couple.
"You guys.." Naomi smiled.
"Wow," Addison laughed, hugging Violet.
"Congrats," Charlotte grinned at the couple.
"I'm happy for you guys," Athena moved to Violet to give her a hug, standing on her non-injured leg.

After a horrific day of work, Athena was ready to just get home.
But she'd promised both Violet and Pete she'd be there.
Just during the reception, Athena had noticed Amelia wasn't there.
She'd heard she was leaving to go see her brother, but she'd expected the girl to say goodbyeβbut she didn't.
"Anything else you need to do for your special friend or are you off the clock?" Charlotte asked sarcastically, running her finger over the top of her glass.
"You're an idiot," Cooper told the blonde.
Athena sat there uncomfortably, not knowing what to say.
"I love you. But.. idiot all the time," Cooper shakes his head drunkly. "I mean how can you be jealous of me and Violet? She'sβ we'reβ you.. she's Violet."
"I'm not jealous of you and Violet. I'm jealous of me and you. You're all up in Violet's wedding. And you and I can't even agree on Pastor versus Rabbi," Charlotte tilted her head.
"Okay. Pastor and Rabbi," Cooper reasoned. "Idiot."
"There's a storage shed near the back," Charlotte said, looking directly at Cooper.
Cooper chuckled, "I've never done it in a room that smells of compost."
"Well, there's a first time for everything," Charlotte took the drink out of Coopers hand, dragging him along. "We'll be back."
"Oh, I'll be here. All alone!" She shouted as the blonde left her all alone.
The brunette limped towards the open bar, looking for something to take her mind off of being alone at this wedding.
When she wobbled back to her seat, glass of wine in hand, Charlotte and Cooper weren't back, but she noticed a familiar face.
"Amelia?" Athena frowned. Not because it was Amelia sitting there, but because she was supposed to be on a plane, on the way to Seattle. "You're supposed to be on a plane."
"Yeah," Amelia nodded. "I know. But, I was there, ready to get on the plane, and I couldn't do it. I forgot to say bye to you. And this is not in any way me forgiving you. Because what you did to meβ to everyone is not something to forgive. Not right away, anyways. But I couldn't believe I forgot to say goodbye."
Athena rested her leg up on the chair, listening to what Amelia was telling her.
"You weren't answering the phone, hence why I just showed up here in jeans and a shirt."
"You could've just messaged me and said bye," Athena shook her head, lying.
She wanted Amelia there. But it didn't matter what she wanted. She felt guilty. Guiltier then she should feel, but still guilty.
No one would trust her for a while, not after what she'd done. Sam would be their first choice to pageβnot her.
Amelia gave her a look, knowing she was lying, but didn't press the subject any longer.
"So, I don't normally do this, but, dance with me," She held out her hand, sliding her chair out, standing above Athena.
"Are you sure? You'll have to hold me, because," She gestured to the leg. "I'm not very stable."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Just get up," She smiled, and helped Athena stand, pulling her to the area in which people were dancing.
"How long do you have until you go?" Athena asked her, she didn't want to admit it, but she didn't want her to go.
"Twenty minutes," Amelia revealed sadly, wrapping her arm around Athena's back.
Athena nodded, and just enjoyed the moment while it lasted. She didn't know when she'd have another nice moment like this. Especially with Amelia.
