Athena's mom had died when she was only a teen. Resulting in her having to live with her step-father.

She didn't know it was her step-father, of course. Not until she was a teenager, anyways.

She liked it there, with her step-father. Except for the fact that he was always drinking, and doing drugs.

Which caused her to get addicted too. She tried it when she had a falling out with her friends in tenth grade.

And that lasted until her first year of college when her step-father got into a bad car accident and ended up passing away.

He wasn't dead on arrival though. He told her something before her died, 'You have more family, Athena.' He told her before he passed.

And since the shitty doctors in the shitty hospital couldn't save her step-father, she decided to become a doctor.

So she stopped doing drugs, and got into a really good college.

She became one of the best cardio fellows in Nevada.

On the tenth year anniversary of her step-fathers death she kept thinking about what he said and decided it was time for her to take a DNA test.

And it surprised her to find out that her half-sister sister was Addison Montgomery. A very gifted OBGYN. And her half-brother was Archer Montgomery.

After she got the DNA test and found her siblings, she had looked them up. Addison was a doctor at a private practice in Los Angeles.

By then, she was a great cardio attending.

Athena decided to move to Los Angeles. To be closer to family.

She got a job at Seaside Health and Wellness. The exact practice her sister worked at.

She didn't tell her sister who she was. Which was unknowingly, the worst decision ever.
