Josie twirled a piece of her blonde hair and looked at it out of boredom waiting for the boy to begin talking as she was the one basically hunted down and then tackled on.

But obviously, his awkward and beta personality wasn't letting him talk. So she plopped her back down onto the grass and let it brace into her skin gaining toppers attention once more.

"Sa- Stranger, what's your name?" He questioned looking to her and avoided his eyes by picking at the grass.

"Josie, what about you?" Topper looked to Josie who was looking at him with a raised eyebrow and squinted eyes avoiding the shining sun.

She put her elbows on the grass and looked to topper who sighed deeply.

"Topper, My name's topper." Josie held in a laugh with little specks topper heard getting an eyeroll from him. "Stop that."

She kept going, her snort being held in as her mouth tried staying together. "I&I'm not doing anything."

"You're about to laugh!"

"Am not!" She defended completely horrified at his words.....before she bursted out into a rambunctious laughter.

The boy closed his eyes when pool water flew onto him as Josie kicked the water rolling around in the grass as if she was a dog.

"Its not that funny."

"Yes it is, your parents named you topper, that's a laugh for all century bro!" She smacked his thigh in response only to get kicked into the pool by the blonde boy in self defense.

In a high pitched voice topper muttered. "Omg I'm so sorry, that was just Like so funny. Hahaha." Josie emerged from the water and glared at the boy.

"You beta male."

"Not a beta, I'm an alpha." He defended. Josie just gagged at his words. "Shut up bottom and help me out."

"Bottom?"

"Your not a top." She said holding out her hand out, her makeup still perfectly intact as it all was water proof for the moment.
Feeling like he shouldn't do anything, he helped anyway bending down to help the girl despite being upset about her recent words about his name.

But alas, once more he had been fooled by a cameron.... Or whatever her last name was and pulled into the pool completely drenching his polo shirt and khaki shorts.

The old man by the window rolled his eyes and closed the blinds annoyed by the sound of laughter completely not caring about the two in the pool, he might of been cranky but today was just not the day to yell anything.

๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜ ๐— ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—˜, sarah cameron had been mentioned to Josie. Josie who ended up with topper walking across the 'kooks' part of outer banks where all the rich shitheads happened to be.

Him being one of them.

She continued the way with the jacket heyward had given her and sunglasses by the boys side looking at houses they passed with curiosity.

He had told her all about the blonde.

The blonde she just happened to look like, but apparently he couldn't really look at Josie or show any pictures as he had gotten 'to emotional' by her in the firsts place.

Apparently she died.

Died running away with her murderer of a boyfriend which Josie would totally approve of if it was in a universe called the vampire diaries. But this was the real world, therefore she could not condone that type of shit, yet.

Her boyfriend a pogue. The poor bitches on the island, that's what topper basically described them as in the most nicest way possible....as a kook could.

And by the wat he talked about her, she was his ex girlfriend. Which blatantly surprised Josie, but kept her surprise to herself giving the boy and fifty fifty smile of real and fake when he looked to her.

She wanted more info, the bare minimum is what she got and should be thankful for but...she wasn't.

Knowing you have someone who looks just like you, had a whole life in the same town you moved into with your own family was a little fucking weird. Not to mention the family of Sarah Cameron, by all means they sounded like a neutral family according to topper but Josie could say otherwise thinking back to heywards words from earlier.

Random man trying to protect her, from who? Not topper, like she said. Total bottom, beta male, Nada. Her friends, according to topper, she was friends with the pogues, people who cared about her- his words not Josie's.

Job? She was rich, having a job was probably not in her nature. Family.

Family is what could be the most safest and most dangerous thing when it comes to the rich, so either Josie just accused her family of being nutjobs or they were. No in between.

Josie knew this overall, her family as they were could be dangerous, especially her mother who would scare the shit out of her the moment she entered the household.

But even with the little information about Sarah Cameron, she was walked home by topper who refused to leave until she was whole heartedly safe and left without looking back.

Although Monica and Xavier Peterson just happened to be out of the house to her coincidence. So in return so laid on the carpet on her floor drowning in her drowsiness from the day and fell asleep despite the sweat and chlorine water that sunk into her skin and outfit with blackness taking over her vision.

๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—•๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ก๐—š๐—ฆ ๐—ฆ๐—”๐—ง in front of Monica Peterson who held a blank look on her pale face while looking directly into her youngest daughters eyes who completely avoided Monica's own.

Xavier sat beside them quietly eating his cinnamon toast crunch cereal that became soggy as time went on.

Josie herself was bundled in her sage green soft blanket with wet hair dangling onto the fabric biting the inside of her cheek repeatedly.

The silence was killing her, so she glanced to Xavier only to get to fingers snapped back to Monica who held a disappointed look making the girl put herself further into the blanket hoping it would somehow strangle her to death.

Sadly, the blankets only intention was to keep her warm, anything other was out of the mix.

"Josette Alaine Peterson." Josie cringed as her mother calm but dangerius vouce was presented her full name was used, she was doomed.

"Mommy...?" The girl muttered with a smile, Xavier only rolled his eyes getting a look from his mother. "Don't mommy me."

Josie looked to her mother who could kill if looks could, maybe she shouldn't of Gaven the number to heyward.....big yikes on Josie's part.

"Why the hell did I get a call from a man saying your in danger? Serious danger?"

"Didn't he give you like, any details?" She questioned, by the look on her mothers face, she knew far more than Josie but slightly jumped when she was engulfed into a large hug by Monica.

Her brother rolled his eyes once more as the spoon in his mouth continued to be upside down on his tongue as he watched the interaction. "Favoritism." He sung

Monica then completed her disappointment by slapping them both in the head quite harshly before bringing them both into one long hug.

The two siblings just raised their eyebrows but ultimately enjoyed the embrace by Monica without a doubt.

The mother of all had gotten word from the seafood store owner about her daughter.....and a past friend of Monica's, a long past awaited one she had forgotten had even existed.

Ward Cameron, a selfish man who was once in love with her. Quite awkward when it was revealed she didn't really swing that way,

And Monica never intended on seeing him again, but alas, fate has a shitty way on sneaking up on you once more.

"No one saw you yesterday besides heyward? Right?" Josie shrugged to her mother who only gave her a pointed look as Xavier went to grab more snacks and placing his bowl into the sink.

"Well....., just one." Monica rubbed her forehead in response. "Jo!"

"He was like a stalker of this Sarah girl, swear to god mom! I had my hood up and everything!" She defended, her voice going up a little as she explained. "I personally think he was checking out my glutes, bro."

"You don't have one." Josie held up a shoe making Xavier jump back slightly, Monica grabbed the shoe and threw it to the side.

A worried look still etched into her features.

"He? Name, I need names Jo."

"Your not gonna kill him, are you?" Josie questioned. Topper wasn't so bad, yet. So she hadn't wanted him to die over an overprotective mother who had somewhat possible foot intentions.

"Depends."

"Depends!? Mom he won't say anything!"

"How do you know?"

"He's a beta male! Probably still head over dick in love with the dead girl!"

"Beta male? Really Jo?" Xavier said with a look on his face that Josie would describe as a hater.

"He basically cried when he saw me, right after almost crushing me to death with his abs!" She dramatically explained, hands moving everywhere.

"Oh, you had sex!"

"Zay, keep your mind out the gutter." Josie said as Xavier finally closed his mouth out of annoyance. "He was hot but like, ugh why am I even saying this to you. You'd probably kill him."

"Josie."

The blonde hummed once more with a smile. "Yeah?"

"The boy with abs."

"Oh right, bottom- or topper. Topper Thornton." Neither of the other Peterson's questioned the bottom as it was quite obvious, therefore Monica nodded and stood up with a deep sigh heading towards her phone looking back to the siblings once more. "No going out til I figure out what's happening."

Josie's eyes bugged out of her brain as Xavier just shrugged agreeing, the outside wasn't his scene anyway. "Mom! No!"

"No?" Monica raised an eyebrow, all business. Xavier elbowed his sister who huffed and replied with a yes ma'am before standing up and looking to her mother once more.

"What about sch-."

"Nope." Well fuck. How was Josie supposed to keep entertained now!......

The blonde blowed her lips exasperated as went to her room quite sad.

Her blanket still wrapped around her as she walked to her room all gloomy, as if she just lost her pet cat once more.

What Josie questioned was to an obvious extent. How would Monica know what exactly was that dangerous if she bring Josie, everyone would appear all nice and happy as if danger didn't exist.

Word gets out in small towns, especially as big as a look alike that supposedly looks like the dead kook princess of outer banks with a ridiculously rich father.

Last small town, the whole town found out that josie had gone out of her way to get an illegal tattoo which made most families avoid a 'troubled' teen like her. It was shoenstly normal to do something like that as a teen.

The parents just doing know the sex, drugs, and murder fantasies that go around in their children's minds. Fake smiles and reasurements were usually the requirements when it came to stuff like that.

So she laid on her bed with nothing but thoughts as she stared up at her ceiling, her ceiling which held glow in the dark stars that usually lit up at night- hence the reason their called glow in the dark.

She then glanced to her window and bit her lip unconsciously and sat up glancing to her door and gained a mischievous smile on her face before springing off of her bed and sneakily over to her door and locked it as quietly as she could.

She grabbed her backpack and gained a large smile excited at her upcoming adventure and cringed as she thought of her mothers scolding if she found out.

Josie knew she wouldn't get away on one of her famously secret and adrenaline raising adventures today, but if her mom got any new information tonight, she'd be too busy to notice the girls disappearance for a couple hours the next day.

So she quickly gathered a bag for tommorow with all the consequences not existing inside her brain and hidnit as soon as she was done before bothering her elder brother to make sure she kept her quick track record knowing he was easy to fool.

Why was he easy to trick? She's done this at lest 4 dozen times in the past five years.

๐—ฅ๐—”๐—™๐—˜ ๐—–๐—”๐— ๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—ข๐—ก, eldest child of ward and only son the man had raised along with his two girls. On the way to hitting twenty and still wanted his fathers approval and acceptance deep down knowing he was bound to never get it.

Resentment for his younger blonde sister while almost completely ignoring the youngest at the same time.

He swung a switchblade in his hand admiring the way it swung outward and inwards.

The switchblade had then been immediately put back into its original position and then placed into his pocket. Then rubbed the sides on his head feeling a migraine incoming once more.

He was confused, pissed off, feeling hopeless, and so many more emotions he couldn't place his finger on, but just knew they were there.

He had heard the rumours.

The rumours of Sarah Cameron coming back from the dead. Also had been sent a picture from one of the students at the pogue highschool yesterday morning, and he had been staring at it ever since.

No doubt that it wasn't his blonde sister.

And that's what made him blank, how was she alive? And where was john b routledge, rate hadn't slept in two days, and he knew he wasn't about to sleep a couple more.

He hadn't told his father, the old man could use his big nose and find her on his own time as rafe hadn't planned on doing anything for him for a while.

Then again, it was hard saying no to someone you wanted to be validated by.

He had also seen topper earlier that day who whole heartedly avoided him and when he couldn't do that his eyes did and the talk of Sarah.

He knew something, obviously the boy had seen her, rafe wasn't stupid.

So he had talked his younger sister into finding the Sarah lookalike which she agreed to in an instant but never came back to reveal any info, pissing rafe off more.

Then he thought about the whole ordeal laying in his bed, the darkness fullfilling his entire room as he looked to the corner with emotionless eyes.

It was as if he had been paralyzed, it would of been a concerning scene if you were to suddenly walk in but rafe wouldn't of cared.

He would of smiled after a while at the worry and think of thoughts to make someone more worried, he liked when people were afraid of him.

Just not the other way.

It made him feel weak.

Must of been why he was the way he is.

The validation for his family to accept him, to love him, to side with him.

Must of been why he agreed to clean up another body with his father when his presence was needed once more, and he still couldn't help but feeling like nothing but a stranger when helping his father.

But he knew sure as hell it wouldn't last that much longer, especially after finding out if Sarah was actually alive here in outer banks.

He had a plan, and he intended to stick with it no matter who got hurt along the way.
