3.

Two Days Later.

"You gone keep avoiding the conversation Rain?" Nau'Jour asked, following her with his eyes as she maneuvered around the kitchen.

"I'm not avoiding anything." She shrugged, and he stood up from the stool, walking over to her as she stood over the stove.

"Aight. Just tell me why you don't wanna talk to me about it?" His arms wrapped around her waist, and she continued stirring her nacho cheese, watching the block melt down.

"I don't wanna reopen wounds that I already closed. I went through that chapter of my life alone and I'd rather not remember how hard life was for me back then." She told him, adding milk to the pot.

"So Von is Cyn daddy? You told me your babydaddy was dead." He tilted his head to the side, and she refrained from laughing.

"He is. I don't know who that man is. He could walk past me on the street, I wouldn't know a thing." She smiled at him once he laughed.

"Shut up. You not funny." He mushed her head, and she chuckled, letting her cheese simmer, wrapping her arms around him.

"I'm sorry for lying to you though. I didn't expect him to ever be back, and even knowing the possibility that he would be, I told myself he couldn't be around Cyn. But I just saw him and that shit totally went out the window." She mumbled, her head laying on his chest.

"Jayda, is he gone be somebody I need to worry about? Old feelings and shit?" He asked, and she turned her head to look up at him.

"No. Hell no. The shit he put me through, I would never do that to myself again. Your love is the only love that I want." She told him, puckering her lips.

He chuckled, leaning down to press his against hers, and her eyes closed as he held her face, his tongue sliding in her mouth. Once Jayda deepened the kiss, he roughly grabbed her neck, making a low moan escape her lips.

"You tryna get fucked up in here huh?" He grabbed a handful of her ass, and she smiled, shrugging her shoulders.

"Maybe baby." She held his face, pecking his lips twice, and he smiled, his diamond teeth glistening in the light, making her bite her lip.

"Get yo slut ass on." He slapped her ass, and she laughed, grabbing the spot he'd just hit since it stung.

"No. Give me some of that monster dick." She reached down to grab his shaft, and he swatted her hands away, laughing.

"I'm tryna have a serious conversation with you and you tryna fuck on me. This is madness man." He ran his hand down his face, and she laughed, making him smile.

"Foreal though, you know if you wanna talk about that I'm here. And don't do shit that you feel like you forced to do. That's your son, you raised him. You in control. Don't be manipulated or misled by false perspectives. Okay?" He looked down at her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug.

"How do you always know what to say to make things better?" She pouted at him, and he kissed her bottom lip, chuckling.

"I don't like seeing my baby upset. So stop thinking so much on that, okay? You got time. You don't have to stress yourself out right now." He told her, and she nodded, sighing.

"I don't know what to do Nana. Cyn deserves a father, you know? And I know you've been filling that role as best you could, but it isn't your responsibility and I don't want you to feel like your obligated to since you're with m-."

"Jayda you know I don't do shit that I don't wanna do. I love you, and I love yo son. I'a take whatever comes with you. You my responsibility so he is too. I love him because I want to, not because I have to." He cut her off, and she rubbed his face, sighing once more. He was so perfect to her.

"What do I do? I can't keep Cyn from him forever. But the shit he did to me, I just don't wanna face him again. I got did so wrong Nana. I don't want my baby to feel unwanted like I did." She mumbled, laying her face back on his chest.

"How long you been knowing him?" He asked, and she pondered on the thought of telling him for a few milliseconds.

"A little while." She half shrugged, not really answering him directly, but still answering.

"And it's been three years since you last saw him?" He questioned, and she nodded her head.

"You know I'm behind you 100% baby, but people change. You ain't the same person you was three years ago, and he probably not neither. I'm not saying to give him a second chance, but shit, you can see if it's worth it. You don't have nothing to lose." He shrugged, rubbing her waist as she turned the stove burner off.

"What if I allowed him to get close with Papa, and then he leaves again? I'm so scared of him doing my baby wrong Na. Like my little baby is so perfect and I just don't want anything bad around him." She held a small frown on her face, running her fingers through her curly hair.

"You'll be with him the whole time. I'll go too if you want. You ain't doing this by yourself mama, I'm right here." He told her, and she pecked his lips multiple times, making him smile.

"You are so good to me. I don't deserve you." She hugged him tight, and he kissed the side of her face.

"You deserve all the good shit that come your way. You perfect." He kissed her forehead, and a shy smile graced her face.

She could hear Cyncere begin to quietly whine, currently asleep in his room, and she turned her head away from Nau'Jour, trying to see if he'd fall back asleep on his own or if he wanted to get up.

"I'll go check on him baby. You finish cooking." He let her go, and she kissed his cheek to thank him, watching him walk off.

She turned to face the stove, added her ground beef to her pot of nacho cheese, beginning to consume herself in her own thoughts.

She loved Nau'Jour and the way he loved her son. She had been with him going on nine months, just a few months after she had moved to Atlanta.

He'd swept her off her feet from the moment she'd met him. She loved the way that he loved her, a love that she had been wanting for years. She just wanted somebody to appreciate her, and to communicate with her so that the relationship continued smoothly, and he did just that.

He taught her new things everyday. When she first got with him, she was still the same little insecure girl that she was from her previous relationship with Von, and she had numerous toxic ways because that was all she knew.

He had to teach her everything, and show her that those ways weren't right. He didn't want to be toxic with her and he'd let her know that when they first got together.

She had tried to rush their relationship because she wasn't used to them, and he had to explain that their relationship would never work if they didn't have a good friendship as the base of it.

There were multiple times she accused him of doing things like stepping out of their relationships just because she had trust issues, and he reassured her every time that she was all that he wanted.

Nau'Jour took his time with her, and had been taking his time since the day he met her. That's why she loved him as much as she did because she knew that it wasn't easy, especially since she had a son as well.

He loved her the way that she was, and she always felt like she was enough for him-something she'd never felt with Dayvon. She had to learn to stop comparing the two because Toosii was nothing like him.

He showed her the worth that she was sure that she had lost, and he fixed her; even knowing that he wasn't the one that broke her. The love she had for him exceeded the love she had for herself. She loved him a lot.

With Dayvon back, she wanted to make sure that Nau'Jour knew that he didn't have any competition, whatsoever. Nau'Jour came before him in any situation. She barely even knew the person she'd once thought was the love of her life.

She vowed to never allow any man to ever have her in the position that Von put her in. That was a hurt that she'd never experienced before, and she never wanted to go through that again.

Since she'd been with Nau'Jour, she hadn't had not one bad day with him. He treated her like she was a princess, and he really loved her for her, and not for what she had to offer.

Jayda ceased her thoughts for a moment, looking over at her phone that rung, Von's contact flashing across the screen. She had agreed to meet with him for lunch today, but now she was having second thoughts.

She couldn't bare the thought of anybody treating her son wrong. Cyncere was her whole life, he was the reason that she was still here and going every single day.

Her baby was so perfect to her. For what felt like so long, it was just her and Cyncere. Trying to find a way through life that Jayda had to now do on her own since Von had left her. Watching Cyncere love her even at her weakest moment, was the best thing in the world.

She didn't want anything to happen to him, nor did she want him to ever feel neglected. And she could admit that she didn't want to share her child. All her baby knew was her, and she really didn't want him to know anyone else. She wanted him to be her little baby forever.

She wouldn't be where she was without her son. He was her reason for everything. He was the reason she got off her ass and made a life for both of them, despite being torn up and broken apart by both Von, and the troubles she'd been through her entire life.

Cyncere was her entire world. And though she knew that Dayvon deserved to know his son, she just didn't know how she felt about him being back. She didn't trust him, let alone trust him with her child.

She knew that it was morally wrong, but she couldn't help it. She had so much anger against him from him leaving leave by herself, that she wasn't even focusing on how it'd affect Cyncere, but mostly how it'd affect her.

She watched as Von called her twice more, before a message came through, and she picked her phone up.

Jayda sighed, running her fingers through her hair out of frustration, having no clue on what it was that she should do.

let him see his son, duh?
