Next Day.

"I know you tired man, I got you some water. Anything else I can get you?" And office placed a glass of water down in front of Dayvon, and he kept his eyes on his hands.

"Niggas think I'm slow assum'. You want my fingerprints, get a warrant or suck a dick." He ran his hand through his dreads, tired of being there.

"Confess. We know that you did it."

"So why I ain't locked up? Get the fuck out my face with that bullshit man." He waved him off, slouching in his seat, the same seat he'd been sitting in for over twenty hours.

"Ace, I got this." Another man walked inside, and the officer looked at Von, before exiting the interrogation room.

"Have you been made aware of your rights, Mr.Bennett?" The detective sat across from him, and Von didn't respond.

"Well, I'm hoping that you have. I'm Detective Lawrence, and I was appointed to this case by the family members of Nau'Jour Grainger. Familiar with the name, or Toosii?" Lawrence met his eyes, and again, Von remained silent.

"I want my phone call, and my lawyer. Fuck around and sue y'all asses, I been here a whole ass day, and mufucka's ain't got no charges against me. Let me get my phone call." He tilted his head, and Lawrence stared at him for a few seconds, before standing up, gesturing him to follow him.

Von stood from his seat, stretching his body out as he followed him out of the room, over to a wall of phones.

He gave him the number for his lawyer, and once Lawrence walked a few feet away, Von grabbed the phone from the hook.

He dialed Jayda's number, twisting his dread around his finger, listening to the dialing tone.

"Baby?" She answered, and he blew out a sigh of relief, a breath that he didn't even realize he was holding.

"I'm here fat mama. You mad at me?" He asked, and he could hear her sniff on the other end, making him sigh.

"No. Do they have anything on you, when can I come and get you?" She mumbled, wiping her face.

"I don't know yet. I won't be long though baby. What you doin'? You okay?"

"Yeah. I just miss you. I hate being by myself. I want you home." She told him, trying not to cry.

"I miss you too. You spoiled as hell, you know that?" He chuckled, and she laughed, making his smile grow.

"It's your fault." He could hear her smile as she spoke, and that made his heart swell.

"Did you eat? You feed my babies?" He asked, and she chuckled.

"Yeah. Dess brought us Denny's. She's asleep with Papa next to me, right now."

"She wanna be me so bad. That's why ion like her ass now." He shook his head, and she laughed again.

"Don't play with my best friend. How you holding up though? What are they saying?"

"I bet I be home by tomorrow. Maybe later today. Folks 'nem ain't got shit on me. I ain't did shit, they ass tripping." He shrugged, and she chuckled, shaking her head at him.

"I miss you so much. Do you need like, money on your books? Do you even have books yet? Are they being mean to you, because I'll come up there and act a f-."

"Jayda, shut yo scary ass up." He cut her off, and she busted out laughing, making a koolaid smile plaster on his face.

"I can't even fake tough now? That's crazy. Well, if it's some girl officers tryna get at you, you need to tell me. I'm on folks ass." Her accent slipped out, and he laughed, rolling his eyes at her.

"I ain't stunting no hoe. I'a whoop me a hoe." He shrugged, and she laughed again.

"Oh my god, I miss your crazy ass. I hate this." She lowly sighed, running her hand down her face.

"I miss you too baby. I'm sorry for leavin', but I'a be back soon. My lawyer almost here so I won't be too long. Ima marry you when I come back home. What you gone say boo?" He chuckled, and she smiled, shaking her head at herself once she blushed.

"Ima say yes baby. You serious?" She asked, humor in her tone.

"As fuck. Ion play wit' nothin' but that pussy." He told her, and she laughed, making him smile.

Von looked over seeing Detective Lawrence and his lawyer, Don, gesturing him off of the phone, and he refrained from rolling his eyes.

"Baby I gotta go. Ima be home real soon aight? I ain't even locked up I'm just in this lil holding room, so don't trip 'cause I ain't going to jail, ok?"

"Okay baby. I love you so much." She blew a kiss in the phone, making his heart flutter.

"I love you too fat mama." He replied, and then the line went silent.

"You not gone hang up?" She chuckled from the other end, and his smile grew.

"Hell nah girl I miss you." He shrugged, and she laughed, rolling her eyes.

"Bye Dayvon. Hurry and come home to me please." She blew another kiss, before actually hanging up this time, and he sat the phone back on the hook.

He ran his hand down his face, standing upright and walking over towards his lawyer. He was ready to get the fuck, asap.

"Wassup Grandson, you good?" Don dapped him up, passing him a cool blue gatorade.

"Fasho. Tryna get home to Jayda and Cyn so hurry and clear this shit out for me." He returned the dap, patting his back in a quick hug before letting him go.

"You know ain't shit holding. Let's go." He gestured towards the room, and Von followed him inside, being met with Detective Lawrence once more.

"So, Nau'Jour Grainger. What does he have to do with my client?" Don sat down next to Von, opening his briefcase and pulling out a stack of papers.

"Nau'Jour was last seen with Jayda Cheaves, which is Bennett's baby mother, and the two of them have been together since Nau'Jour's last sighting."

"Ok. What point are you making?" Don confusedly gestured with his hands.

"Nau'Jour has been missing for two months. His family filed the report last week, and after checking his house, we found puddles of blood. After swabbing for DNA over his house, Bennett's was found on the door to the garage." He revealed, and Von kept his face flat.

"Bennett and Grainger has both been to one another's house. They take care of Jayda's son together and have exchanged him while Jayda wasn't present, they're cordial."

"I'm sure if you thoroughly check Grainger's house you'll find more than just Von's DNA. Jayda's is there, and plenty of his friends' is as well. So, again, what point are you making?" Don looked up from his set of papers after scanning over the evidence.

"He's the prime suspect in our case. From Bennett's cell phone records, he was at Grainger's house at the time of his disappearance." Lawrence slid a piece of paper over to him.

"Cell phone records? With what warrant? You need a warrant to access his records prior to an arrest and you know that. This won't hold up in court." Don shrugged, and a sly smirk placed upon Von's face underneath the black mask he wore.

"It will, once we prove that he's the one who committed the murder."

"Murder? Now you're just talking in circles. You don't even have a body, what murder are you referring to? You don't even have a charge." Don scoffed, and Lawrence sat up in his seat.

"You got a charge or not? You can't hold him past 24 hours with no charge, and it's been..what? 22 hours? You have no real evidence that will hold in court, and you don't even have a body to confirm the victim is dead. You arrested my client purely on suspicion. You're lucky we don't press charges against you. Throw the case out." Don stood up from his seat, gesturing Von to do the same.

Von put his fingers in a fake gun, placing them to his own head and imitating a 'boom' sound, before laughing at himself, following Don out.

That process was faster than he thought, and he was so glad that it was. He made a promise to Jayda that he wouldn't leave again, and he was trying to keep his word.

After getting everything legally settled with Don, they parted ways, and Von loaded into the sprinter van that was waiting outside for him almost an hour later.

"Take me to Unlimited." Von told his driver, who nodded to signal he understood, heading that way.

Von wasn't kidding when he told Jayda he'd marry her. She was his best friend, the person he knew for sure was his soulmate, and there was no way he'd lose her again.

There was a lot of shit that could've stopped them in the past, shit that still tried to stop them today, and she still stood by his side. He loved her more than anything, and now that she was pregnant with his second child he was securing her. She wasn't going anywhere this time.

After a quick visit with Wafi at Jewelry Unlimited, he was dropped off at Jayda's house, and he rung the doorbell since he didn't have his key.

The two of them hadn't been separated for more than three hours since the night he'd found out what Toosii had done to her. He hated being away from her and it was vice versa. He was eager to see her.

"Baby!" Jayda shrieked after opening the door, jumping on top of him, and he caught her in his arms, wrapping them around her.

"I missed you girl. Shit, you got my dick hard ma." He chuckled, and she laughed, hugging around his neck.

"Oh my god I missed you." She repeatedly pecked his plump lips, and he smiled, laughing once she kissed his teeth.

"Daddy!" Cyncere's small feet hurdled towards them, and Von swooped him up from the ground as he giggled.

"Y'all are the cutest, oh my gosh." Destiny chuckled, recording the three of them, watching as Von carried both Jayda and Cyncere inside.

"Wassup folks? I missed you." Von blew bubbles on the side of his neck, making him giggle, and Jayda smiled.

"I miss you. You take a vacation without me?" He frowned, mushing his head, and Von laughed, placing him and Jayda down.

"Preciate you lil Dior." Von gave Destiny a side hug, which she returned, before hugging Jayda.

"Always down to spend time with my babies. Bye bye Papa." She squatted to be at his level, and Cyncere wrapped his arms around her neck.

"Bye bye TT!" He kissed her face, and she laughed, returning it, having a small conversation with Jayda before finally leaving.

"I love you." Von wrapped his arms back around Jayda, and she smiled, hugging him back.

"Me too!" Cyncere frowned, and Von smiled, picking him up, holding him in his left arm.

"We good?" Jayda rubbed near the nape of his back, asking about the details of the case. She didn't want this to come back up.

"Always." He kissed the side of her face, and she lowly sighed in relief, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Don't leave me anymore, I need you. You scared me." She mumbled, a smile spreading across her face once Cyncere forced his way into their hug.

"I need you too. Look." He pulled away from her, grabbing the large black bag from the floor, pulling a black box from out of it.

Jayda rose an eyebrow in confusion, seeing the rectangular box, and then she frowned once he got down on his knee, opening the box. Her eyes went wide seeing seeing an assortment of rings.

"You been my bestfriend since I was six Jay. I'm 25 now, that's almost twenty years you been on my side. I done did some crazy ass shit during that time, and you never left. Even after I left you, when I came back, you looked at me the same way you'd always had. Eyes full of nothing but love."

"Ain't a soul alive that can say they ever had me the way you got me. Ain't nobody been by my side like you, nobody a' ever ride for me the way you do. Nobody love me like you do, a mufucka a' never give me two of the greatest gifts in the world the way that you did."

"A lot of mufucka's out here got hidden motives for the people that they love. Doing shit because they want something in return, using folks, shit that a' hurt a mufucka. That was never you. You gave your all for me, despite what I did. Everything that was yours was mine, and I could never thank you enough."

"Ain't nobody as genuine as you no more Jay. When I tell you that you one of a kind, I really mean that shit. You always tell me right from wrong, always telling me what I need to hear instead of what I want. You paved the way for me baby, I wouldn't be who I am today-wouldn't be able to provide the way that I do, if it wasn't for you."

"You my whole heart. The mother of my kids, the girl that my granny loved. You raised me the same way that I raised you. We struggled together, and now we winning together, and I'm tryna do this for the rest of our life. I don't ever want you to slip out my grip again. You mine, and I need you more than you know."

"The love I got for you is hard to explain, and it's always been hard for me to express the way that I feel, but that was never the case with you. I can write a book, shit a movie about the love I got for you. I wanna raise our kids together, I'm tryna have you for life baby. I want more kids, more money, more vacations, more business ventures-all that shit. I want it with you, and only you."

"So, Jayda Rain Cheaves, make me the happiest gangsta alive and marry me. You a' marry me baby?" He stared into her eyes that were now pouring tears, and she covered her mouth, squatting in front of him, a pout on her face.

"Dayvon.." She trailed off, her voice cracking. He made her so happy, a happiness that she couldn't even explain. She couldn't believe that this was where they were, and she couldn't wait to do it forever with him.

"Mommy, say yes!" Cyncere jumped on Von's back, who laughed, leaning over to peck Jayda's lips.

"Yes. Yes, oh my god yes." She wrapped her arms around his neck, and he smiled big, grabbing her up in a hug while holding on to their son.
