13.

Two weeks later.

"Move, damn." Jayda laughed, mushing Von's head away from her.

"No you move. I don't eat this shit Jayda I just told you that." He reached to take the spinach out of the grocery cart, and she popped his hand, making him frown.

"Stop touching shit before you wake my baby up." She looked at Cyn who was currently asleep on Von's shoulder as they walked through the store.

"Shut yo bald headed ass up. I'm not bringing you next time." He rolled his eyes, and she laughed.

"Nigga I brought you. The hell?" She lightly snaked her neck, making him smile, rolling his eyes once more.

Jayda pushed the basket, pulling her phone out and dialing Nau'Jour's contact for the fifth time. Once it dialed out, she internally groaned in frustration.

"What's wrong?" Von asked, seeing the upsetting look on her face, and she replaced it with her resting expression.

"Nothing, I'm fine. Okay so, chicken or beef noodles?" She pointed towards the shelf, and seeing that she didn't want to talk about what was wrong, he left it alone.

"Both. I like beef but Cyn hate that shit." He shook his head, and she chuckled, grabbing both bitches and placing them underneath the basket.

After coming to terms with an official co parentimg schedule, Von figured it was time to change a few things around to better suit the needs of Cyncere.

The first thing he wanted to do was go grocery shopping. He personally never ate real meals; snacks or quick microwaveable foods usually satisfied him if he wasn't eating out.

Now that Cyncere would be over more often, he wanted Jayda to help him buy the things that Cyn usually ate, and real food to cook for him.

Jayda had asked Toosii to accompany her because she just wanted the two of them to become a bit more cordial, but he declined, and she hadn't heard from him since she'd left.

She had asked him more than once if he was okay with her going and if she shouldn't, but he reiterated that it was just grocery shopping and it didn't bother him.

He had been acting a little off with her the past couple of days, and him ignoring her calls set her on edge. She would have to have a real conversation with him when she got back home.

While Von put more things in the cart, Jayda checked Toosii's location, seeing that he was at his studio. She switched apps, checking the cameras, seeing him bobbing his head in the booth-recording a song.

She called him once more, and then sighed as she watched him let it ring, taking his headphones off once she called again. He picked up, and she stepped away from Von, putting her phone to her ear.

"Nau'Jour are you upset with me?" She asked as soon as the call connected.

"Baby what you talkin' about?" He returned a question, confused.

"We're about to pretend like you haven't been ignoring me today?"

"I know you see me at the studio J. It wasn't on purpose, I just took my phone off silent. I'm sorry. You okay?" He stepped out of the booth so that his call didn't echo.

"No, I'm not. Something's wrong with you and you won't tell me. If it's something that I did I'm sorry Nana. I hate making you upset. Just tell me what I did so that I can fix it, please." She ran her fingers through her hair, overthinking herself into stressing.

"Baby what I tell you 'bout that?" He frowned, and she sighed, glancing over at Von, seeing him typing on his phone, waiting for her.

"Stop blaming yourself for other people's actions, ight? I know it seem like I was ignoring you but it wasn't on purpose. I been here since you left, I ain't even been on my phone you can check my camera feed. I know yo stalker ass been watching me." He joked, and she laughed because she definitely had.

"Because I'm obsessed with you." She chuckled, and he smiled.

"I know. We good now?"

"Are we?" She returned, and he nodded, though she couldn't see him.

"Yeah, we are. Tell me when you on the way home so I can be on the way too. I love you baby. We good." His voice rasped, making butterflies grow in her stomach.

"I love you more Nana. Thank you." She mumbled, smiling once he blew a kiss in the phone. She returned it, before ending the call.

She put her phone in her back pocket, pushing her hair over her shoulder as she walked back over to Von and Cyncere.

She was so happy that Nau'Jour didn't mind reassuring her. She knew that sometimes it could get bothersome, but he never acted like it. He was always patient with her and he answered every question she asked. She trusted him with everything in her, but sometimes she could overthink, and he was always there to tell her that they were good.

She loved him a lot. He was so refreshing, and now that she was thinking about him, she couldn't wait to go back home. She missed him already.

"Okay, you think this enough?" Jayda said, gesturing towards the cart, trying to speed this process up.

"Shiddd, it better be. We got two damn carts." He chuckled, and she did as well.

"You gone need some food stamps." She pushed one of the carts as he did the same, and he laughed.

"Food stamps? Girl I'm rich." He waved her off, and she chuckled, rolling her eyes.

As they pushed the carts, Von's eyes scanned their surroundings, before a small frown graced his face. He turned so that he faced Jayda, backing her into a corner, and she frowned.

"Dayvon m-."

"Them fucking people taking pictures of us. You want them to see you wit' me, go ahead. Tryna help yo ass out." He stepped back, and she could see a few people looking for the two of them, so she pulled him back in front of her.

"I told you we should've brought security." He said, hiding the two of them in a corner where they couldn't be seen.

"It was just grocery shopping. Oh my gosh I hate them." She frowned, her hand resting on his waist to keep him in front of her.

He looked down at her, scanning his eyes over her face, and she adverted her attention from behind him to look at him.

"Boo?" She snaked her neck, and he laughed, making her smile, rolling her eyes.

"All up in my face. Come on, they gone." She chuckled, pushing him back some, careful not to wake Cyncere, and both of them grabbed the carts again.

Von shifted Cyn in the carrier that he was wearing, turning his head so that he didn't get a crook in his neck.

After paying for all of their groceries, they loaded them in Von's truck, then started the drive back to his house.

"Dayvon you are so dramatic." Jayda laughed, eating her fries that she'd ordered from McDonald's.

"No I'm not bro. If I paid for twenty chicken nuggets that's how much I should've got. Why the hell I only get seventeen?" He frowned, dipping his nugget in ranch as he drove.

"They probably just didn't count right. I'm sure it wasn't purposeful." She chuckled, and he glanced over at her.

"Jayda!" His frown deepened after seeing her eating a chicken nugget, and she busted out laughing.

"Bruhhh I knew I wasn't fucking tripping. You is not that fucking hungry Jayda damn." He mugged her, before it was replaced with a smile, seeing her laughing so hard that no sound was coming out.

"Mommy! Hush!" Cyncere grumbled out, waking up from his sleep, and Von laughed once she caught her breath, dramatically gasping.

"I wasn't even loud Papa. Damn." She wiped the tears that had fell, and Von shook his head at her.

"Yo fat ass is annoying." He told her, and she laughed again, passing Cyn his happy meal, which he happily took from her.

"I just wanted to taste one. But then it was good so I got two more. Who the hell counts their chicken nuggets though? You should've just started eating." She said with a smile on her face, biting into her chicken sandwich.

"Cause it looked skimpy. Now I know why." He squinted his eyes at her, and she laughed, making him smile.

"Hm." He held his box of nuggets out to her, and she took two, smiling as well.

"Thanks lil ugly. Lemme get some ranch." She held underneath his hand that was holding his box of nuggets to keep it stable, dipping it in the ranch.

"You want some of my sandwich?" She asked after eating the nuggets, and he shook his head.

"Nah. Lemme get some fries though." He sat his box of nuggets back in his lap, and she frowned.

"You have your own fries." She said, confusion laced in her tone.

"And?" He reached in her bag to grab some of her fries, and she smacked her lips, watching him eat them.

"Mommy look." Cyncere turned his phone to face her, showing her a tiktok. Jayda pretended to be intrigued, though she couldn't hear since his AirPods were in his ears.

"You got him that huge ass phone. He was fine with his XR." Jayda told Von, who shrugged, glancing in his rearview at Cyncere, seeing his tiny hand holding his iPhone 12 Pro Max.

"He need the newest of the new like his daddy." He shrugged again, and she shook her head at him, chuckling as he parked in his driveway.

Getting out of the car, Jayda threw their trash away, before going back to help Von bring the bags in.

"Uh un folks where yo ass goin'?" Von grabbed Cyncere before he could run in the house, making him giggle.

"Let me goooo." He laughed, his stomach being tickled by Von, who smiled.

"Hell nah. You better grab some of these bags." He chuckled, placing him on his feet.

"Ugh." Cyn dramatically groaned, grabbing a bag of bread that Jayda had passed him, making her and Von laugh.

Jayda and Von made a few trips back and forth from his car to the house, bringing all of the groceries in, then took another half hour to put all of them away.

"I need to go home and get in my bed, oh my gosh." She spread out on his couch, and he laughed, sitting next to her.

"Move. I need this room for my feet." She frowned, pushing him back with her feet.

"Girl this my couch. Bye, go home." He waved her off, and her jaw dramatically dropped.

"Fine. Hoe." She attempted to stand up, but he grabbed one of her ankles which resulted in her tripping, making him laugh.

"Dayvon!" She frowned again, and he scratched the back of his neck to pretend as if he didn't know how that happened.

"You are so annoying." She stood up front the ground, dusting her shorts off, and he smiled, standing up as well.

"Papa! Come tell yo mama bye!" Von called out, and both of them could hear his small feet running into the living room.

"Bye bye mommy. I see you tomorrow?" He hugged around her legs, and she squatted to be at his level, hugging him back.

"No baby. The day after that. Is that okay with you?" She kissed his cheek, and he rubbed her face.

"No. I go home with you tomorrow." He mumbled, and she chuckled.

"Okay baby. You can go home with mommy tomorrow." She agreed, making Von laugh. Both of them knew he'd change his mind tomorrow and stay longer. He did it often.

"I love you." He wrapped his arms around her neck, and she smiled, kissing his cheeks.

"I love you too Papa. Call me, okay?" She stood back upright, and he kissed her leg, before rubbing off again, making her and Von laugh.

"My baby run just like you. His poor bent legs." She shook her head, leading the way out of his house.

"Girl ain't nothing wrong wit' our legs. Hell wrong with your midget ass legs?" He rolled his neck at her, and she laughed, making him smile.

"Boy bye. Mad cause your skinny ass legs go all the way back." She waved him off, and he smacked his lips.

"And you mad cause you big." He popped her thigh that was exposed due to the biker shorts she wore, and she hissed, frowning at him.

"Dayvon that shit hurt!" She bucked at him, and he laughed, opening her car door for her.

"My bad mama. Hm." He leaned down, kissing the same spot that he popped, and she pushed his head away, making him laugh again.

"Get away from my car. Bye. Ugly ass." She waved him off, climbing in her Range Rover, and he chuckled.

"Bye girl. I love you." He reached in the car to wrap his arms around her, and she returned the hug.

"Love you too Cyn. Take care of my baby." She said after pulling away, and he folded his arms at her, making her roll her eyes.

"What now?" She rose an eyebrow in confusion as she crunk her car up.

"Girl. 'Love you too'. What the fuck is that?" He mocked her tone, and she smacked her lips.

"That's all yo ass getting. Now bye." She waved, backing out of his driveway, laughing as she watched him flick her off.

Jayda made it home within twenty minutes, ready to fall face first into her bed once she made it inside. She took her shoes off at the door, walking back to her room and tossing her phone on the bed.

As she was in the middle of undressing herself, she heard Nau'Jour open her front door, and a smile graced her face.

"Wassup baby?" He wrapped his arms around her, and her smile grew as he picked her up.

"Hey. I missed you daddy." She pecked his lips twice, and he smirked, making her laugh.

"Girl you sexy as hell." He held her by her ass, carrying her to the bathroom as she buried her face in his neck.

She could smell the scent of weed mixed in with his cologne, and she pulled back, biting her lip.

She grabbed his face, meeting his eyes, seeing that they were red and low. He pecked her lips, placing her on her feet.

"You was smoking boo?" She asked, and he nodded, pulling his hoodie from over his head.

"Nana, what's going on? Like foreal." She tilted her head, stopping him once he reached to pull her bra off.

"Jayda you overthinking mama. Is everything okay with you?" He tilted his head, and she kept the flat expression on her face.

"Armani you don't ever smoke unless you're stressed. The entire time I've known you, you've only smoked maybe four times." She folded her arms, and he chuckled, pulling his sweats off, turning the shower water on.

"Thinking too hard baby. I won't smoke if you don't like it." He told her, pulling his boxers off, then stepping in the shower.

She frowned, remaining in her place against the counter. She didn't like the way he was brushing this off, but then again she knew how dramatic she was and how much she overthought.

"Baby check my phone if you want. I swear I'm good." He spoke from the shower, and she sighed to herself, wondering if she should go through his phone.

Deciding against it, she pulled her bra and panties off, stepping in the shower with him.

"You're making me sad Nana. I just wanna help." She mumbled, wrapping her arms around his torso.

"Jayda look at me." He said, and she trailed her eyes up his figure to meet his, her expression softening.

"I'm okay, I promise. Zac and Tory was smoking and I took too many hits. I'm fine. You would know if something was wrong baby. Chill out." He rubbed her face, kissing her bottom lip that was poked out in a pout.

"You promise?" She reached up to wrap her arms around his neck, and he smiled, wrapping his arms around her, grabbing a handful of her ass.

"I promise. Now give me some kisses." He mumbled, and her smile returned, pressing her lips against his.
