Mahi's POV

The car's engines hummed as we drove, Mayu had offered to take me on a drive. I saw his hand slip from the steering wheel to his pocket multiple times.

Today's the day! He's going to propose

Yet a small part of me still felt that blank and empty emotion. Mandy hadn't spoken about the journal to the rest of the RR team for a few days now. His words were always running through my head, haunting me.

"Why are you frowning?" Mayu spoke up and looked at me, I could sense the nervousness in his voice, I hurried to comfort him.

"Nothing, I was just thinking." I smiled at him, and he nodded slowly. The silence draped between us like a heavy curtain once more.

The car squeaked to a halt at the top of the mountain road, I got off and admired the stars. The stars were a rare sight in India, the plumes of smoke and pollution usually hid them away, only giving us occasional glimses. The fresh air was... well... refreshing.

"Mahi," I heard Mayu's voice from behind me, I turned around. A gasp escaped my lips. He was on one knee with a loving smile on his face, his hair in its usual messy form. His brown eyes filled with so much love, that it could melt a stone-cold heart.

"Mahi Dalal, the day you agreed to be my girlfriend was the day I knew I wanted you by my side for the rest of my life. I was also the happiest man on earth that day," He smiled ever so sweetly, he opened a blue box, inside it was a ring.

"Would you make me the happiest guy on earth, forever, by marrying me?" He breathed, and my heart raced.

"Yes,"
