๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, but who cares? that definitely wasn't stopping cleo from buying every cute christmas pijama she could find. christmas was the holiday cleo felt like herself most. maybe it was her birthday being december 20th, her insane obsession with home alone, or the fact that she flies down to california every december to spend christmas with her family.
romeo on the other hand, was the complete opposite. for the 3 years theyve been roommates for, cleo has yet to see him excited on christmas. he usually goes out with his friends doing god knows what with god knows who. cleo and romeo met 5 years ago in highschool, and have been like 2 peas in a pod ever since. why romeo hated the holiday was beyond the woman.
with her arms filled with bags, cleo made her way to the apartment elevator. nolan, who lives in that same apartment, tapped on her shoulder. "need help?" he asked, although he was already carrying half her bags. "hi, nolan!" she smiled, pressing the fourth button of the elevator. nolan peeked into the bags and noticed the rudolph sweatshirt she had bought. "already, cleo? imagine how romeos gonna react."
"oh he'll lose his shit, totally." she laughed. "which is why i bought him this!" cleo held up the wendys bag.
"you bought him food so he wont hate on you for already celebrating christmas?" nolan raised an eyebrow. knowing romeo, he'll shut his mouth in a heartbeat. "he should be used to this by now. also yes. yes i did." cleo nodded and walked down the hallway, finding her apartment number.
romeo was folding laundry until he heard the front door unlock. he got up and made his way to the door, already hearing cleos voice. "hello hello!!" cleo set her bags down on the counter. she gave romeo a hug before he could notice all the shit she bought; which almost worked. he was almost too busy rubbing his hand up and down the small of her back to notice it yet.
"how was your day?" romeo pulled back as his eyes met hers. "it was good. the bakery was packed today." cleo answered.
"wait, you work at a bakery? nolan asked, confirming his presence.
"own a bakery." romeo and cleo both corrected him in sync.
"gotchu." nolan nodded. "hold up, why are you even here?" romeo tilted his head. "i was helping cleo with her bags." nolan pointed to the bags in the counter. cleo began going through them, smiling at all the cute clothes she bought. "whatd you get, rudolph?" romeo came up right next to her.
"HA! speaking of rudolph..." cleo held up the sweatshirt against her body, showing it off. the boy rolled his eyes, not aware that nolan just left. "oh god here we go." romeo complained. that complain was quickly shut down when cleo opened the wendys bag and threw a burger at him. "now your silent, huh?" cleo bit a fry and made her way to the couch.
"you are the best." romeo bit into his burger, sitting down right next to her. cleo put a pillow next to him and lied down, placing her head on it. "what show is this?" she watched what was playing on the tv. "brooklyn nine-nine." romeo placed his hand around her shoulder, tracing nonexistant patterns on her arm. he enjoyed this. a lot. he would give anything to do more than just this. but obviously, hes not willing to admit that.
