An Interesting Game of Spy-N-Seek

They'd just finished sparring, the three of them, like they always did at 5:30 pm. Sweaty and panting heavily, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka strode out of the training room side-by-side.

"We've done next to no stamina training for the past few months," Ahsoka stated, glancing up at Anakin, who nodded thoughtfully in response.

"You're right," he replied. "You demanded that we stop when I beat you every time at half-mile sprints."

"Hey! That's not fair! You've done conditioning before, and it was my first time!"

"Spare me the excuses, Snips," Anakin interrupted. "It's the results that count."

Ahsoka huffed. "A debate wasn't what I had in mind! And besides, you so cheated," she said. After a brief pause, she continued. "I was talking about a game of hide-and-go-seek."

A cheeky grin slowly slid onto the Chosen One's face. "We've got half an hour before dinner anyway," he said, continuing his apprentice's line of thought.

"Tag, Master Kenobi! You're it!" Ahsoka cheered, clapping the auburn-haired Jedi Master on the shoulder before darting off, with Anakin right on her heels.

"Wait! That's not fair. You-" before Obi-Wan had the chance to protest, his two Padawans had already disappeared into the Coruscant night. "Why do I even try?"

"Ahsoka, wait up!" Anakin panted, running after his Padawan. They'd been sprinting for a good five minutes now, and she showed no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

"Better keep up!" She shouted back, enjoying herself too much to let her Master catch up. Knowing him, he'd probably pull some sort of dirty trick on her once she did stop. Although he wasn't "it", he may as well be. She was beginning to run out of stamina, and her chances of escaping his playful wrath were slim. Anakin was rapidly gaining on her, beginning to spread his arms, planning on catching her-

And a devilish idea popped into her head, at the very last minute. Right when Anakin was about to catch her, Ahsoka tapped into the Force and summoned the last of her strength. Jumping onto a ledge, she smirked as she witnessed Anakin crash onto the brick walls of the building below.

"Ahsoka!" He yelled in fury, clutching his head in agony.

"I'm sorry, Master, did I hurt you?" She mocked before jumping onto another ledge further up the building, avoiding his anger.

"You are so- in for it-" The young Jedi hissed through clenched teeth. The searing pain darting through his head was unbearable; it was as if the left and right sides of his brain were being ripped apart while a hammer fractured his skull.

Finally, he joined his apprentice on the rooftop of the building. "Ahsoka Tano," he snarled, stalking towards her, furious at the relaxed stance she held herself in, especially after the pain she'd just caused him. "What. The. Kriff."

"I'm sorry, Master," Ahsoka apologized genuinely as her cocky facade faded, lowering her head in shame. "I took it too far." She'd had some time to think before Anakin arrived on the rooftop. What if she'd hurt him more than a simple concussion? It was only a game, there was no need to be so drastic. She would never be able to live with herself if he was gravely injured. What if he- no. She wasn't going to go there.

"Never do it again, little one," Anakin consoled her, unable to remain angry at her remorseful apology.

"I know. It was just a game, I didn't need to get so competitive. I would never be able to live with myself if-" she didn't finish her sentence.

He seemed to realize where this conversation was headed.

"I'm not going anywhere, Ahsoka," he said, ignoring his pain for a moment as he wrapped his apprentice in an embrace. "You learnt from your mistakes, and that's all that matters."

The young Jedi melted into Anakin's arms, glueing her cheek to his chest as her hands snaked around his waist. She refused to let go.

"But if those mistakes were of bigger consequences, then-"

"But those mistakes of bigger consequences didn't happen," Anakin interrupted, holding the teary-eyed Togruta close. "Focus on the here and now, the worst it could be is a concussion."

A concussion?

Ahsoka vividly remembered something Barriss had shown her during their break time on a mission. Force healing.

"I decided to take a look into it, it seems interesting," she had said. "Besides, it's a handy skill to have." Ever the bookworm, the Mirialan Padawan had brought the textbook with her on that mission.

"Can you show me?" Ahsoka had asked in curiosity. She did agree that basic Force healing was a vital skill to master, it could save many lives.

"Of course. Although, I haven't gotten very far yet," Barriss admitted. "I only read up to concussions and bone fractures. I'm not very good at explaining things, perhaps it's best if you read the paragraph yourself."

Concussions and bone fractures.

One of the most commonly used basic healing skills, channel your strength in the Force to run a quick scan of their body. An image will present itself to you within a minute. Memorize it; the visual is not permanent. Place both hands on the injured body part and visualize all areas returning to its normal state as you let the Force flow through you.

Self-healing is an entirely different matter. For more information, turn to page 394.

Snapping out of her reverie, Ahsoka knew what she had to do. "Master," she addressed him, "I think I can fix your migraine."

Anakin stared. Since when did Ahsoka know anything about Force-healing? He didn't care anymore, though. He just wanted this headache and possible concussion out.

Clasping her hands gently on both sides of his head, the Padawan let the Force guide her as it sketched a visual out as if begging her to help Anakin.

The nerves finally got the best of her as she awaited the results nervously, the same feeling drowning her as if her final exam marks were being handed back. She lingered in the suspense waiting- and the scan finally appeared. Ahsoka let out the breath she didn't know she'd been holding in, relieved to see that it was a concussion, nothing as severe, nor drastic as she thought.

"You've got a severe concussion, Master," she reported. "I can fix it."

"Anything to get rid of the pain," he groaned, clutching his throbbing head.

"Soon, it will all be over. Stay with me."

Placing her hands on his temples, the scan began to disappear. Quickly altering the twisted tissue to its original spot, she let the connection fade.

"How do you feel?" She whispered, both physically and mentally drained from the attempt.

That same feeling flooded her again. What if she'd failed, and made it worse?

"How did you do that?" Anakin asked, awestruck. "I feel no pain."

She shrugged, a small smile playing on her lips. "A friend taught me."

Anakin smiled at her. "Thank you, Ahsoka. It means a lot. Now, where were we?"

"Right! We were going to people-watch...."

Standing on top of the building, the two Jedi watched through their binoculars, making stray comments every now and then.

"Hey look. Why is Master Windu holding a windowpane?" Ahsoka asked, laughing.

"No clue! Probably doing something stupid, that to his standards, normal." Anakin returned. "Is that... Cad Bane I see?"

"Pfft," the Padawan snarked. "Who else wears a hat like that?"

"... good point."

She burst out laughing. "I spy with my little eye someone we know who's ginger."

"Obi-Wan? Wait- OBI-WAN?!"

"Shush, he's gonna hear you!"

Not even a second later, Anakin's commlink flashed. "Hello? Who is this?" He asked, feigning ignorance.

"Anakin, I saw you. You too, Ahsoka."

"Well kr-"

Before Kenobi could berate them about appropriate language, Ahsoka cut the connection.

"Well," she snickered, "time to jump onto another building."
