TO SAY STARR DIAZ NEVER HAD A NORMAL CHILDHOOD WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT. FROM THE MOMENT SHE WAS BORN, SHE'D BEEN THRUST INTO the world of stardom. From day one of life, her name implied what her parents hoped she'd be, but that never happened — she was just a fallen star.
Starr tried to distance herself from her parents as much as she could — not like they cared much, anyway. They'd only ever try to help her succeed through auditions and when she failed they gave up in a split second, looking for the quickest nanny or boarding school to get her off their backs. But she couldn't, she was just reminded of where she came from: famojs parents who couldn't give a shit.
She always felt like her parents knew more than they lead on, but Starr
One thing she found ironic was that her parents's friend, Allison Hargreeves, cared more about her than her own biological parents ever did. She supposed it was due to the fact Allison grew up in a super-family and in the spotlight her entire childhood, so there was someone to talk to.
Tonight she was going to a premiere for some movie couldn't care less about, but it was the first one her parents let her come to in years. Starr stood beside her mother, walking down the carpet with Allison, but her mother' expression suddenly shifted to a frown when she drifted her gaze down to see something on her phone.
Starr furrowed her eyebrows and glanced up at her mom, "Mom, what's going on?"
"I need to tell Allison something, Mijá."
She hurried over to Allison while Starr stood there confused. She squinted her eyes, watching her mom whisper something into Allison's ear. It seemed like everyone was in on it except her once the reporters started asking questions, "Allison, have you heard the news?"
But that wasn't the last:
"When was the last time you saw your father?"
A woman behind him, putting her camera aside her face asked, "Have you heard from your brothers?" Then asked, "Allison, will you wear Valentino to the funeral?"
What kind of question is that?? Starr thought to herself.
Starr's mother, Camilla, took Allison away into the room where the red carpet ended and it felt like a breath of fresh air; she was no longer blinded by the camera lights and bombarded with questions about a family she hadn't seen in a long time.
"Oh, one second," Camilla said, putting her phone up to her ear.
Starr turned to Allison, crossing her arms and asked, "Can we go home yet?" Allison chuckled and flashed a light smile, "Wish we could, but hey! I actually got a chance to see you at one of these," Starr shrugged, but then her mother hung up with a sigh and they both turned to her.
"So what's up?" Allison questioned.
"It's Anthony," Camilla said. "Something is going wrong on set and I need to fly up to help," a frown formed on her features, holding her hands together with her phone in hand. "Allison, would you mind watching Starr for the weekend?"
Allison crossed her arms against her chest, "I don't know," she then turned to Starr and flashed a smile, "You wanna come to my dad's funeral? I don't know if imma survive without you."
"Yes!"
Maybe a little less optimistic.
