Chapter twenty five,

keep your friends close, enemies closer

    "HUEVOS CON CHORIZO. . ." Jasmine slowly said despite messing up the phrasing, all while she was helping Santiago Herrera make the breakfast by stirring the food, "Is it good, or will it taste bad?" She scrunched up her own nose in full blown curiosity.

   Not too long ago, he had arrived to the apartment and Chad who was taking a shower, as for Anika and Mindy who were still very much asleep, she had decided to get to know more of this mystery man her Aunt Gale was hanging around with.

   Santiago who quickly replied to her in pure honesty, placing the beverage pitcher on the counter, and quickly helping Jasmine, "You'll like it, kid. Especially, with cold water. It'll be refreshing." He had a smile on his face.

   Jasmine who nodded her own head at his response, "Okay. . ." She tilted her head out in curiosity, "What are your intentions with my Aunt Gale?" She placed her hand on her own hip.

   Santiago was stunned with her question, as he couldn't have her learn the actual reasoning, and he knew that it's beyond cruel to hide the actual truth— He knew that in the beginning Gale Weather's was just an easy way to just be closer to Jasmine Altieri, and keep a close eye on her since Mickey Altieri couldn't, but he had suddenly began to feel certain feelings for Gale Weather's the longer he's around her.

   He felt really guilty. Also, knowing that Gale Weather's is going to ultimately figure it out, as Mickey Altieri is just preparing himself for the endings of four individuals.

He had calmly answered her, a light smile was on his face, "To just get to know your Aunt Gale Weather's, and who knows maybe fall in love with her. . ." Jasmine who had smiled at what he said to her, "You have a pretty cool Aunt, kid."

Jasmine who simply nodded her head at his remark, "Yup. I do!" She had quickly began to walk away already hearing the shower not even running anymore, "You don't need my help anymore, right?" She slowly questioned him.

He shook his head, "No. I'm all good."

A thumbs up was given.

Not too long later, everyone had gotten ready for the morning, and all just remained sitting down in the dining room, eating peacefully as them Gale suddenly spoken up to them, "How long have you all known your friends?" She was curious, and this was something she should've asked them in the beginning.

But, Mickey's unexpected call kept her on edge. She didn't know who to trust, and didn't want her niece in danger.

Santiago had his hands crossed, he knew things that they didn't, but again really couldn't intervene with what Mickey Altieri is doing.

Mindy who spoken, "Several months." She eyed her friends in the table who nodded their own heads, "Ethan's my roommate." Chad had casually mumbled.

Jasmine easily speaking, "Quinn she had answered Sam and Tara's little ad. . ." She had implied before speaking to them, "I met Jodie in my English class, she befriended me after she had approached me in my class, and was a bit persistent." She shrugged her shoulders.

Gale who had let all that sink in, "That's a little bit weird, Minnie. . ." She pointed her finger at her niece, "She was pestering you until you had agreed to this friendship? Who's her family?" She retorted.

Jasmine who had easily groaned, "She's harmless, Aunt Gale. And, I don't know who her family is." She mumbled out.

Gale who specifically glanced at Chad and Anika, and wanting a response from them as well, "Is that girl harmless?" She tapped her fingers on the table.

Chad speaking, "She's harmless, despite the amount of times that Tara just drags her into immediate danger. She's harmless." His hand was placed on his girlfriends thigh.

Anika nodding her head, "She means no danger. She's a sweet girl." She softly smiled.

Mindy who given her honest opinion, "No offense, but it does sound a little bit suspicious, Jasmine. . ." She had clicked her tongue on the top of her teeth, "I'm not saying that you can't make any new friends, but she just gives off this weird vibe. Also, the never seeing horror movies, come on. . . It has to be a lie!" She had waved her hands around the air.

Gale who nodded her head in complete agreement, "Thank you!" She had pointed her finger at the teenage girl who gave her a high-five.

Jasmine had lightly glared at them for their little assumptions, "Well you two are just wrong about this, Jodie is no one that I have to worry about." She had calmly told them.

Only for Santiago to have suddenly speak up to all of them, specifically her after just being quiet for awhile, a look that she seem couldn't even be described that was just written all over his face, "Keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer." He bluntly retorted.

It just kept her wondering, what if?

Mindy who gasped, eyes widening a smile on her face, "This calls for an intervention with the entire friend-group!" She snapped her fingers.

Chad who had furrowed his own eyebrows, a groan was seen escaping his lips, "Not again."

Mindy rolling her own eyes, "Yes again, so one of you call Sam." She had pointed at them.

Both remaining silent.

Anika raised her eyebrow, "Did y'all get in a fight with her, again?" She's seen Sam and her cousin constantly arguing, and Chad always the one defending his girlfriend that puts them all in complete odds.

Jasmine swallowed her own saliva, a little bit of nervousness was surfacing in her stomach at their response, "Last year, uhm I learnt that my dad escaped prison. . ." She slowly began, as she seen their eyes just widened, "Apparently, his mask was found in the crime scene of the deaths of Jason and Greg. Also, my therapist and her daughter were killed yesterday." She finished off.

Mindy blinked her eyes, "Wh—"

Chad interrupted beforehand, he was already upset that Samantha and Tara haven't even apologized that he doesn't need his girlfriend to be stressed even more, "If you're going to say something snarky, I'd save it." He calmly told his sister.

Mindy who had rolled her own eyes at how protective her brother is with Jasmine, "I'm not going to yell at her. . ." She had brought her attention back towards Jasmine, "Is there a chance that your dad is in his old ways, yes! But, I don't think he's the Ghostface that either one of us should be worrying about." She had casually said.

Jasmine who was confused, "What do you mean?" She had scrunched her own nose up.

Mindy who just answered her, "If he were a danger to us, he'd probably be targeting Gale and Sydney. . ." She was quickly interrupted by Gale who just had a sarcastic smile written all over face, "Geez, Thanks."

Mindy who was simply smiling at her for being right, "No problem. But, as I was saying that this is bigger than before, and leaving the masks behind is something new." She had just exhaled her breath.

Anika who spoke, "So where does this leave Mickey Altieri in all of this?" She was curious in all of this.

Mindy who spoken up, "If his motive isn't revenge on Gale and Sydney. . ." She had taken a slightly pause before speaking when her eyes glanced at Jasmine, "His motive to probably to protect, Jasmine and also eliminating the one who's underneath the mask, or just anyone who disrespects her."

Jasmine who instantly paled, and quietly speaking to them, "I fucking told y'all that he'd cause chaos. . ." She had swallowed down her saliva before speaking again, "But. . . We're all in safe hands if he's around here, he'd protect all of you because I care for each and one of you." She leaned her head on her boyfriends shoulder, as she was playing around with his fingers.
