"Look at you, playing with your cards." Hermione scolded as Ron looked up from his cards. "Pathetic! We've got final exams coming up soon."
There was an upcoming exam and you were studying with your friends, well, except for Ron. Ron placed his cards down and shrugged. "I'm ready. Ask me any question."
"Alright, what are the three most crucial ingredients in a Forgetfulness Potion?"
Ron looked down. "I forgot."
"Oh!" You intervened as you leaned closer to Hermione. "And what, may I ask, do you plan to do if this comes up in the final exam?"
"Copy off you both."
Hermione sent Ron a death glare. "No, you won't. Besides, according to Professor McGonagall, we're to be given special quills bewitched with an Anti-Cheating Spell."
Ron gasped loudly. "That's insulting! It's as if they don't trust us!" He looked down at his cards and groaned in frustration and annoyance. "Dumbledore again!"
You sighed and looked back to your book until you noticed someone struggling to walk inside the Great Hall. Some students started murmuring and giggling to the poor boy. It was Neville.
"Leg-Locker Curse?" Ron detected.
"Malfoy." Harry deducted.
You frowned at Harry. "Bold of you to assume that it was Malfoy right away."
Neville approached you four for help as Ron looked at his friend. "You have got to start standing up to people, Neville."
"How?" Neville asked. "I can barely stand at all!"
You stifled a laugh. "That's not what Ron meant, Neville. He means that you have to fight for yourself if people treat you poorly or bully you."
You heard someone standing up and saw Seamus taking his wand out. "I'll do the countercurse."
"No, that's all I need!" Neville exclaimed. "You to set my bloody kneecaps on fire!"
Seamus glared at Neville and slammed his wand down on the table, feeling insulted and offended. "I don't appreciate the insinuation, Longbottom. Besides, if anyone cared to notice, my eyebrows have completely grown back!"
Seamus turned away and didn't notice that he still have a bald spot just at the back of his head. You and Hermione contained your laughter with a smile while Harry gasped in surprise. "I found him!"
You and Hermione leaned closer to Harry and Ron as Ron read what Harry found. "Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945. For the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon blood and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicholas Flamel!"
"I knew the name sound familiar. I read it on the train that day." Harry replied.
Hermione started packing her books and glanced at the boys and you. "Follow me!"
The four of you started collecting your things and followed Hermione as Neville looked at you and your friends in confusion. "Hey! Wait! Where are you going? What about the countercurse?"
Just as he finished his question, Neville fell down as he lost his balance causing some students to laugh. You stopped in your tracks and quickly went back for Neville. You crouched down just beside him and performed the countercurse. Neville softly gasped as his legs sprang apart. You helped him up and he got to his feet until he started trembling.
You held his arm and helped him sit just beside Dean. Neville smiled. "Thank you."
"Always welcome. Longbottom." You smiled in return before walking away to follow your friends. Neville stared at you in awe while Dean leaned towards him. "She's something, huh?"
You and your friends headed to the library and quickly looked for books that could relate to Nicholas Flamel. Just as you were about to grab a book, you ended up touching hands with a certain Hufflepuff boy. You jumped in surprise and so did he. "Peter, you scared me!"
"S-Sorry! Were you about to get this book?"
You quickly shook your head as a slight blush appeared on your cheeks. "I, uh, no! You can take it. I can look for a new book."
Peter scratched the back of his head and handed you something. You kindly took it and noticed it was a pretty handmade bookmark. "I wanted to give you a gift for being so nice and a good friend to me," Peter explained. "I didn't have money to buy you a good gift so I--"
"It's alright, Peter." You interrupted. "I love it, thank you." You quickly gave him a peck on his cheek before running away to return to your friends, Peter placed his fingers on his cheek until he softly smiled.
You quickly sat down just on the opposite side of Ron and Harry. Harry noticed your cheeks were heating up. "Are you okay, (Y/n)--"
"I'm fine!" You quickly responded before taking the book from Ron and looked for some pages that might relate to Nicholas Flamel.
Hermione finally got back with a huge book in her arms. "I had you looking in the wrong section. How could I be so stupid?" Hermione asked as she placed the huge book causing Harry to jump in surprise.
"I checked this out weeks ago for a bit of light reading." Hermione sighed and opened the book.
"This is light?" Ron complained as his eyes widened earning a glare from Hermione. Hermione sighed in frustration. "Why did I even let you go to the Restricted Section!" She exclaimed. "I put you guys into trouble!"
"Hermione? The information please?" You asked her since she's starting to ramble.
She stopped and then chuckled slightly. "Right." She opened the book and she searched for Nicolas Flamel. She searched about him then gasped when she found him. "Of course! Here it is! Nicholas Flamel is the only maker of the Philosopher's Stone."
Ron and Harry raised a brow. "The what?"
Hermione rolled her eyes and looked up at them in irritation. "Honestly, don't you two read?"
You looked at the book and started reading. "The Philosopher's Stone was an artificial, rufescent stone with magical properties. It is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It'll transform any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life which will make the drinker immortal.
"Immortal?" Ron asked.
"It means you will never die," Hermione explained.
Ron glared at Hermione. "I know what it means!"
Harry shushed him while you silently laughed.
"The only Stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicholas Flamel the noted alchemist who last year celebrated his 665th birthday." Hermione looked at you and the boys seriously. "That's what Fluffy is guarding on the third floor. That is what's under the trapdoor. The Philosopher's Stone."
You looked down at the book as you started to wonder. 'Why does Snape wants it? It just doesn't make any sense unless...' You glanced at your friends. '... there's someone else who wants to steal it.'

You and your friends sneaked out of the castle and rushed to Hagrid's house. Harry knocked on his door and waited for him to answer.
Hagrid opened the door and saw you four. "Hagrid." Harry started but before he could add another word, he was interrupted by Hagrid.
"Oh, hello," He greeted with no enthusiasm. "Sorry, I don't wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today."
He was about to close the door when you all four told him in unison, "We know about The Philosopher's Stone!"
He opened the door again and looked at you four. "Oh."
He agreed for you and your friends to enter his house. Harry followed Hagrid. "We think Snape is trying to steal it."
"Snape?" Hagrid asked, completely surprised. "Blimey, you're not still on about him, are you?"
"Hagrid, we know he's after the Stone. We just don't know why."
"Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone. He's not about to steal it."
"What?" You asked, confused as glanced at Hermione.
"You heard it right," Hagrid said. "Come on, now, I'm a bit preoccupied today."
"Wait a minute." Harry interrupted. "One of the teachers?" He asked.
"Of course!" Hermione exclaimed. "There are other things defending the Stone, aren't there? Spells, enchantments." As she finished her deduction, Hermione turned to Ron who's trying to move away from Fang but Fang started to lick him.
"That's right!" Hagrid exclaimed. "Wasted bloody time, if you ask me. Ain't no one gonna get past Fluffy. Ain't a soul knows how. Except for me and Dumbledore." He paused and realized what he said. "I shouldn't have told you that... I should not have told you that."
You all looked at Hagrid blankly until you four heard a crackling sound. You were the one who first looked at the pot behind Hagrid because that's where the sound you were hearing was.
Hagrid looked behind him and quickly picked up a circular egg. He sets it on his table and you and your friends followed him.
You gulped. "Uhh... Hagrid. What exactly is that?" You asked, focused on the egg.
"That is a... it's umm..." Hagrid stuttered, unable to find the right words.
"I know what that is!" Ron gasped in delight. "But, Hagrid, how did you get one?"
"I won it. Off a stranger, I met down at the pub. Seemed quite glad to be rid of it, as a matter of fact." Hagrid explained.
We heard another crackling sound. It was about to crack so all of you stepped backward. And then it hatched. You widened your eyes when you realized what it was.
"Is that..." Hermione gasped and looked at Hagrid in amusement. "...a dragon?"
"That's not just a dragon," Ron said. "That's a Norwegian Ridgeback! My brother Charlie, works with these in Romania!"
"Isn't he beautiful? Oh, bless him! Look, he knows his mummy! Hallo, Norbert!" Hagrid greeted the dragon, petting it.
"Norbert?" Harry asked, looking at Hagrid, confused.
"Yeah, well, he's gotta have a name, doesn't he?" Hagrid chuckled. "Don't you, Norbert"
Hagrid continues to pet his dragon until it sneezed. Fire came out and was aimed directly at Hagrid's beard. The four of you gasped as Hagrid took the fire off from his beard.
"Well, he'll have to be trained up a bit, of course!" Hagrid chuckled before turning around to see someone in his window. "Who's that?"
You and Harry quickly looked out the window. A boy, who you are too familiar with, gasped and quickly ran away. "Malfoy." Harry hissed.
"Oh, dear..." Hagrid muttered.
After your confrontation with Hagrid, the four of you decided to head back to the Common Room.
"Hagrid always wanted a dragon," Harry explained as you and your friends walked. "He told me so the first time I met him."
"It's crazy. And worse, Malfoy knows." Ron commented.
"I don't understand. Is that bad?" You asked in curiosity.
"It's bad," Ron answered then stopped walking. All of you froze when you saw Professor McGonagall.
"Good evening." She greeted. A certain boy walked out from behind smirking proudly. His smirk suddenly disappeared when he saw you and quickly mouthed a sorry.
McGonagall sent all of you to her office and scolded the four of you except for Draco. "Nothing, I repeat, nothing gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, fifty points will be taken."
"Fifty?!" Harry exclaimed in astonishment and disbelief while you, Ron, and Hermione gasped. You glanced at Draco who you were expecting to be smirking and gloating but he just stood there in silence.
"Each." She added. Harry's mouth dropped open while you frowned.
"And to ensure it doesn't happen again, all five of you will receive a detention."
Malfoy quickly looked up as his eyes narrowed. He stepped forward and chuckled nervously. "Excuse me, Professor, perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said the five of us?"
Professor McGonagall looked at him. "No, you heard me correctly, Mr. Malfoy. You see, honorable as your intentions were, you too were out of bed after hours. You will join your classmates in detention."
Draco turned to you and your friends. Ron and Hermione were smiling while Harry was smirking mockingly at Draco. You sighed and crossed your arms, huffing.
Β°β’ββββ’Β°
"A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming." Filch informed you as you and your friends followed him to Hagrid's home. "You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He's got a little job to do inside the Dark Forest." The five of you saw him stepped outside and mourning.
"A sorry lot, this, Hagrid," Filch told. When he noticed Hagrid's state, Filch rolled his eyes. "Oh, good God. You're still not over that bloody dragon, are you?" Filch asked, scrunching up his nose.
Hagrid sniffed. He looked at you and Harry but ignored Filch's question. "Norbert's gone. Dumbledore sent him off to Romania. To live in a colony."
"Well, that's good, isn't it?" Hermione asked. "He'll be on his own kind."
"Yeah, but what if he doesn't like Romania? What if the other dragons are mean to him?" He asked, worried. "He's only a baby after all."
"Oh, for God's sake, pull yourself together, man. You're going into the Forbidden Forest, after all. Got to have your wits about ya..." Filch hissed.
"The Forest?" Draco asked, gulping. "I thought that was a joke. We can't go in there. Students aren't allowed. And there are--"
He paused for a moment when a howling noise was heard. "...werewolves."
Filch smirked at the young Malfoy. "Oh, there's more than werewolves in those trees, lad. You can be sure of that."
You hung your mouth open in disbelief. "If there are more than werewolves in those woods, then surely we shouldn't be in there. It's dangerous." You reasoned earning an eager nod from Draco and Ron.
"Then you should have thought of that before sneaking out of the castle with your friends, Ms. Stark." Filch replied. "Nighty-night." He then walked away, leaving all five of you with Hagrid.
"Right..." Hagrid said. "Let's go."
You and your friends followed him into the Dark Forest. Fang, his dog, was with you too. Suddenly, Hagrid found something. A silver liquid. He touched it and observed it.
"Uhh, Hagrid, what is that?" Harry asked and his eyes were wide as an owl.
"What we're here for." He muttered. He showed us the liquid on his fingers. "You see that? That's unicorn blood, that is. I found one dead a few weeks ago."
"Now, this one's been hurt bad by something." Then you heard some ominous sounds that made Hagrid stop his sentence. Harry saw someone walking in the dark. Once it's gone, Hagrid spoke again. "So... it's our job to find that beast. Ron, Hermione you'll come with me. And Harry, you'll go with Malfoy and (Y/n)."
"Okay! Then I get Fang!" Draco exclaimed.
"Fine," Hagrid said. "Just so you know, he's a bloody coward."
The six of you, including Fang, separated in different directions into two groups. You, Harry, and Draco went on a different way.
"Wait 'til father hears about this! This is servant's stuff!" Draco complained, holding Hagrid's big lamp. You stayed silent as you follow the two boys with Fang from behind.
"If I didn't know better Draco, I say you are scared!" Harry told him, rolling his eyes.
"Scared, Potter?" Draco told Harry, scoffing. The three of you stopped walking when a noise was heard. Draco looked at you and Harry. "Did you guys hear that?"
You didn't speak a word and just continued walking. Draco sighed while Harry called out Fang. Draco tapped your shoulder causing you to look at him. "Hm?"
"I didn't know you were there. I should've known. You shouldn't be here doing this." Draco bit his lip and looked down.
You sighed and shrugged. "Let's just finish the task."
As the three of you walk, Fang found something and so did Draco. You and Harry looked at the two in confusion. "What is it, Fang?" Harry asked.
You and Harry saw someone wearing a cloak and with their hood on, eating or maybe drinking something. You squinted your eyes until you softly gasped when you realized a stranger was drinking the poor unicorn's blood.
You turned to Harry who felt pain on his scar. You jumped in surprise when Malfoy screams. Fang ran off while you, Draco, and Harry were left to face the mysterious figure.
As the three of you stepped back, you gulped. You felt Draco's hand grabbed yours causing you to take a glance at him. The figure stepped closer to you three as you, Draco, and Harry steps backward. Harry held on to your robe. Unknowingly, he fell from a tree branch causing you and Draco to fall as well with him accidentally dropping the lamp.
The person was about to attack you so Draco hugged you in protection from the vicious creature.
Unexpectedly, someone saved you three. It was a magical creature whose head, torso, and arms appear to be human and are joined to a horse's body. A centaur. The figure immediately left when the centaur scared it off. The centaur turned to us.
"Harry Potter, you must leave." The creature said. "You are known to many creatures here. The Forest is not safe at this time. Especially for you."
Harry stood up and so did Draco. Draco helped you up and coughed a bit. "But what was that thing you save us from?" Harry asked.
"A monstrous creature." The centaur said. "It is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn. Drinking the blood of a unicorn will keep you alive even if you aren't an inch from death. But at a terrible price, you have slain something so pure. But for the moment the blood touches your lips, you will have a half-life. A cursed life."
"Who would choose such a life?" you asked, clutching on Draco's shoulder.
"Can you think of anyone?" He asked.
"Do you mean to say, that thing that killed the unicorn... that was drinking its blood... t-that was Voldemort?" Harry asked.
The creature came to us closely so I hid behind Draco. "Do you know what is hidden in the school at this very moment, Mr. Potter?"
"The Philosopher's Stone," Harry whispered.
"Harry! (Y/n)!"
You and Harry looked at Hermione, who called out to you both. You saw the others and heard Fang barked. Hermione quickly ran towards you and jumped in front of you, hugging you tightly. You almost fell but you caught your balance. You hugged her back and buried my face on her neck and her hair.
"Hello there, Firenze." Hagrid greeted the creature. You pulled away from Hermione and then looked at the centaur as Hermione stood beside Ron. "I've seen you've met our young Mr. Potter with Ms. Stark and Mr. Malfoy." He then turned to us. "You alright there kids?"
Harry, Draco, and you nodded.
"Harry Potter, this is where I leave you." Firenze farewelled. "You three are safe now. Good luck..."
You and your friends, along with Hagrid, headed back to the castle. You, Hermione, Ron, and Hermione stayed at the Common Room and talked about what happened just a few moments ago.
"You mean, You-Know-Who is out there right now in the Forest?" Hermione asked worriedly.
"But he's weak. He is living off the unicorns." Harry said. "Don't you see? We had it wrong. Snape doesn't want the Stone for himself. He wants the Stone for Voldemort. With the Elixir of Life, Voldemort will be strong again. He'll..." Harry sighed then sat down. "He'll be back."
"But if he comes back, you don't think he'll try to... kill you, do you?" You asked in concern.
Harry looked down. "I think if he'd had the chance, he might have tried to kill me tonight with you, (Y/n)."
Ron gulped. "And to think, I've been worrying about my Potions final."
"Hang on a minute," Hermione replied. "We're forgetting one thing. Who is the one wizard Voldemort always feared?"
The two boys exchanged looks while you gasped as you figured out who it was. "Dumbledore," You deducted.
Hermione nodded. She then looked at Harry. "As long as Dumbledore's around, Harry, you're safe."
"As long as Dumbledore's around, you can't be touched," You added with a smile earning a smile of comfort from Harry.
