"I'm crazy but you like that. I bite back. Daisies on your nightstand, never forget I blossom in the moonlight."
. . .
The cookies turned out to be amazing, and Suzie couldn't have been prouder. It was adorable to see her smile in delight at the cookies she made.
We both take a glass of milk and dip the cookies in, before tasting them. I have to admit that they're really good.
Suzie closes her eyes and lets herself enjoy it to the fullest.
"Miles is going to love these," I tell her. Her eyes light up with hope. "You really think so?" she asks.
I nod, fully convinced. "If he doesn't fall head-over-heels for you, there's something wrong with me."
"I agree," she says with a toothy smile. "I think Reed is going to love it, too."
"I'm sure he will," I smile.
"Yes! Because these are so good! We did a good job," she praises and then slides off the stool, taking a bunch of cookies with her.
"Are we going to watch a movie, Fallon?" she asks as I take a container with cookies and follow her to the theatre room.
"Of course, we are," I grin and we both take a seat. We settle on a Disney movie, and I find myself enjoying it more than I should.
When that one is finished, we pick another one. One that I know the lyrics of all the songs too. And Suzie does, too.
Throughout the movie, Suzie climbs on top of me and lays her head on my collarbone, her little arms coming to rest around me.
"I'm tired," she mutters. I softly start stroking her hair. "Sleep, munchkin. It's already late and past your bedtime. Don't tell anyone that I let you stay up this late," I whisper.
A soft giggle escapes her lips. "I promise," she whispers, the 'r' coming out like a 'w'.
"Goodnight," I whisper and press a kiss on her head.
"Goodnight mommy."
My hands still in their movements, and my heart breaks a bit when I hear those words. At the same time, her calling me that warms my heart since she feels so comfortable with me.
Not wanting to think about that anymore, I don't look further into it and just continue to hold her in my arms, until I doze off as well.
Liz came to pick up Suzie at around midnight. Suzie was still asleep when I handed her over and continued to sleep on her mother's shoulder.
Liz asked me if it was okay if she were to text me whenever she needed a babysitter. I told her I'd love to, only because I truly like Suzie.
And hey, she gave me fifty bucks.
On the way to my room, I wonder if Nicholas is going to be in my room again. I know for a fact that I won't let him into my room if he attempts.
My pace towards my room falters a bit when I see something sticking against my door, and I see it's a little note.
Be ready tomorrow morning.
Be ready? Be ready for what? Do I need to expect him back? Or does he want me to be ready when I step out of my room?
With a frown, I enter my room with the note in my hand and take a quick shower before getting in bed.
My nerves wake me up the next day. Earlier than usual. I see it's around eight in the morning and let out a groan.
Why did Nicholas have to leave me that note? Give me this much anxiety?
Over something he wants to talk about. Fuck that. Fuck him.
Yet, I still find myself getting out of my bed and grabbing some clothes. My outfit today resembles the one I was wearing yesterday.
A pair of basic shorts and a crop top. I let my hair loose and take a pair of white sneakers. I add some cherry balm to my lips and then I open my bedroom door.
Only to shriek when I see Nicholas leaning against the wall opposite my door, raising a brow when he lays eyes upon my expression.
"What are you doing here?" I ask and frown, placing a hand over my racing heart. "Waiting on you," he responds as if it's obvious.
"How long are you waiting for?"
"About ten minutes after I knocked on your door," he answers and pushes himself off the wall.
"Wait... you knocked on my door?" I ask and crane my head a bit when he comes to stand in front of me. "Yes, I did," he answers.
That's why I woke up.
"Follow me," he orders and starts walking down the hallway. I follow him down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Where do we need to go this early?" I ask him as I follow him into the garage. "Somewhere," he says vaguely.
"I'm getting the impression that you're going to kill me," I murmur.
"If I wanted you dead, you would've been already," he says as we both get in the car.
"You sound like you have experience," I notice, buckling up. He smirks but doesn't comment on it.
Then, he pulls out of the garage and drives out of the driveway. Once on the road, I lean my head against the window and close my eyes.
"You know," I begin, "you could've perfectly asked me in person to join you."
"You would've freaked out if I went up to you in person," he replies. I scoff. "I wouldn't have."
"You were freaking out right before Suzie arrived."
"I wasn't."
"You were."
"You're so full of yourself," I remark, "and your ego is kinda big."
"You're going to regret those words."
I immediately shut up and press my lips together, not wanting to say anything else that might get me in trouble.
We continue to drive in silence. I sit back and let out a soft hum and listen to the low music coming out of the speakers.
It's when I notice the sea in the distance, that I sit up. We're going to the beach?
I recognize the way towards the docks and wonder what possibly we could be doing here.
"You took me to the beach?" I ask when I get out of his car. "Yes," he answers and locks the car as we begin walking away.
"Why?"
"You'll see."
Narrowing my eyes in suspicion, I follow him to the docks. Realization dawns on me when I see his yacht.
"No way," I murmur and stop in my tracks when he gets on the boat. I stare at his hand when he stretches it out, to help me get on his yacht.
"I don't have all day, Fallon," he says, making me snap my eyes up to him. "Why am I here, Nicholas?"
"Get on," he orders, and I place my hand in his. I get on the boat and walk inside, feeling like I'm in the lion's den.
I follow him upstairs and walk into the cockpit. I go to sit on the nearest couch by the steering wheel and watch as Nicholas goes so stand behind it.
The view of the water is alluring and makes me want to take a swim. But I know that's not why I'm here.
I don't know why I'm here.
"You're going to stand there the whole time?" I ask once we've exited the port.
"I'm putting it on autopilot," he responds as if I should've known.
My eyes fall on a few drawers by the other couches, and I notice a thick notebook sticking out. It's filled with sheets of paper that are sticking out.
Then, I lay eyes on a laptop that's lying on top of the coffee table.
"You come here often?" I ask him, realizing it sounds like a cheesy pick-up line.
"Sometimes," he answers, "when I want to take my mind off of things."
Standing up, I walk over towards the notebook and softly pick it up, opening it and seeing drawings meet my eyes.
Pure talent is staring right back at me. Drawings of people, animals, buildings... I'm amazed by the talent and the details in the drawings.
"You really need to stop things that aren't yours," Nicholas says from behind me. I jump up and turn around, clutching the notebook close to me.
"I'm sorry," I whisper. Then, I drop my eyes back to the drawings and softly go through them. "But... I've got to ask; did you draw these?" I ask and look back up.
He glances away and clears his throat. "Yeah, I did."
"You're... really talented, Nicholas," I tell him, meaning it. He takes the notebook away from me and puts it back in the drawer.
"That's not why I brought you here for," he tells me, meeting my eyes. "Then why am I here?" I ask.
I inhale sharply when I feel his hand on my back. "To talk to you."
Raising a brow, I scoff. "You couldn't have done that at home?"
"As I've said before. You would've either walked away from the situation or freak out."
He's got a point there.
"So you figured to single me out? That's the tactic you're going with?"
"What else do you want from me, Fallon?"
This is a vicious circle we're in. We do something, then I feel like shit about it and fall into a pit of hatred. Then we do something again and... it just feels too good to stop.
But funnily enough, I don't want to do the exact thing he brought me here to do. I don't want to acknowledge what we're doing.
I'm too tired and I'm feeling too guilty. And I know once I start talking, Nicholas will step away from me.
And I'm selfishly enjoying his attention.
Even though his eyes on me make me nervous, I'm basking in the attention he's giving me. The way he's touching me.
My eyes drop back to the notebook, and a silly smile comes on my face before I flutter my eyes up to his.
"I want you to draw me like a French girl."
. . .
If I see any comment that says "I see red" or "tHaT oNe bOaT sCeNe" I will fucking lose it.
Another filler chapter but I promise that it's the last one.
Also, I want to write updates on my life, but a few people that I know irl are reading my books and I don't want to risk them reading anything about this, lol. It's awkward.
But I have so much to spill and I spill everything on my Instagram account.
So the interested ones; my Instagram is in my bio!
It seems like I'm self-promoting myself, but I'm not.
Little rant: my girlfriend Natalia had a dream about me. Hehe. Of us being in Paris, looking cute as hell and then two French guys hit us up??
One of the guys took us to Paris and gave us a tour. Then we had a threesome <33
Thank you so much Natalia for sharing that with me.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Even though it was short.
I love you.
