"..you've gotta be shitting me.."

(Y/N) brings her hand up and presses two fingers to her temple. Currently she and her team were all standing at the very edge of the dense jungle, large windows separating them from the swimming team practicing below.

Samazeka Academy.

"What the hell are they doing here?" She asks in disbelief, and scans the room. She crosses her finger in hope that a certain maroon haired boy would be the last person she'd see-

"Oh hey, it's Rin!" Nagisa points out, and his friend deflates. (Y/N) turns her head and points a finger at the only other girl in the group.

"You!" She starts, "Is this some part of your plan?" She frowns at the idea that her friend would drag them all the way out here just so they could all reconnect with Rin for the hundredth time. But Gōu quickly shakes her head.

"This is a total surprise to me! I swear!" She raises her hands in alarm, a tad frightened by (Y/N)'s glare. "I-I mean it pretty much goes without saying, my brother won't listen to a word I say.." looking down, she stares at the back of her brother's head, who was currently talking to his team captain.

"And plus.." the image of Rin and Haru's argument from when they went shopping flashes past her eyes, and (Y/N) frowns.

"And what?"

Gōu looks up at her friend and slowly shakes her head, a small smile on her face. "Nevermind, forget I mentioned it." She chuckles nervously when (Y/N) leans closer towards her, her eyes scanning for anything her friend wasn't telling her.

Giving up, she leans back with a sigh and rubs her neck. "So it's just a coincidence.."

"We should go say hi!" Nagisa says cheerfully, but Haru shakes his head.

"No." He says simply, and Nagisa frowns. "Aw why not?"

"I made him a promise." The team look at him with questionable gazes. "We're going head to head in district." (Y/N) meets Makoto's gaze from over Haru's head, and the two share a look.

Nagisa's eyes widen. "Wait a second, you're totally kidding!" When he shakes his head for the second time, the group all jump at questioning the boy.

(Y/N) sighs, before looking down and watching as Rin begins to turn his head to the side. Her eyes widen and she shoves all her friends away from the glass, and ducks behind a tree just as he turns to face the window where they had all been standing.

"I'd be so happy to swim in a fifty meter pool!" Nagisa muses as he and the team all begin to set up camp. They had perched two tents on the beach, side by side as the waves began to roll in and out.

(Y/N) watches them, and sighs. "Power house schools get special treatment." Gōu nods beside her, her eyes closed. "Sad but true."

"Clearly those guys are in a different class." Rei grumbles.

"That doesn't matter." Haru shoots back, slightly annoyed at the stronger school.

Makoto speaks up, trying to be supportive. "We came here for one reason and one reason alone." He looks to the group, and gestures them to come closer. "We're gonna work on our stamina as a team."

"They may have a fantsy pool, but we have a deserted island!" Nagisa says with a bright smile, and Rei sweatdrops. "Are you seriously saying a deserted island is better than a fifty meter pool?!"

(Y/N) laughs at her friends, and shakes her head before turning to Miss Amakata. "We should probably get going before we miss our reservation at the lodge." Smiling, Gōu hooks her arm with her friend's, and turns around to walk.

"The lodge?" The boys exclaim in unison. "Wait, what do you mean?" Miss A smiles sweetly at the boys, and gestures to the large set of houses overlooking the beach behind them.

"The way I see it, there's a lodge sitting right there! So why not?" The boys still frown in confusion. "You don't expect a couple of ladies like us to sleep outdoors, right girls?" Both teens nod, and (Y/N) sticks her tongue out.

"So what are we then?" Rei deflates as he listens, and Nagisa tilts his head.

"Wait..(Y/N)'s a lady?"

A beat of silence follows the group. They all take one quick step backwards, and cringe when (Y/N) throws her shoe at Nagisa's face, hitting him square in the forehead. She grumbles as she turns around and stomps towards the lodge.

The day ahead was followed with (Y/N) and Gōu yelling and cheering as the team swims between three different islands.

Rei was given the option of a kick board, which made him far more slower than the rest. This didn't derail their training, as Haru would continue to swim beside him and guide him to the best of his ability.

(Y/N) was dressed in her black and white swimsuit, and would occasionally dive in the vast ocean to help the blue haired teen with his form as well as keeping her friends on their toes.

Every now and then, she would stop to check on Makoto, and watched as he seemed to have little to no trouble. He would catch her eyes every so often, but would give her a small smile before calling out to her to continue swimming.

Rei breaths deeply as he exits the water, and Nagisa gently pulls him up. "I never thought long distance swimming would be this difficult!"

The team all smile at him, safe for Haru who was currently patting his rumbling stomach. "For a first timer, you did really well Rei." Makoto praises. "I don't think I could have done that."

Rei looks up at him, a bit surprised by the praise. But he noticed the way that he seemed to be the only one who was exhausted, and looks away in embarrassment.

Nagisa stretches his arms. "Feels awesome to be working out like this, by the time this training camp is over, we're gonna be in amazing shape!"

The group all listen to their bubbly friend rant on about their new ventures. A splash catches their attention, and they all turn to see (Y/N) busy giving Gōu a piggy back ride near the water.

"Stop moving so damn much!" The (H/C) girl yells, and doesn't notice as she nears the water. Gōu, who was slightly nervous of being off the ground, wraps her legs together around her friend's waist and pushes her hands against (Y/N)'s shoulders.

"Don't drop me!"

"I won't if you just chill out! You're the one who wanted a piggy back ride!"

"Well now I regret it-AH" shrieking, Gōu yells as (Y/N) trips on her feet, and is sent tumbling face first into the salty water.

Slowly picking her head up, she spits out sand and glares at her friend who was completely dry, continuing to sit on her back.

Gōu chuckles nervously, and yells as she jumps up and begins to run away. (Y/N) deadpans as she watches her friend run away, and grumbles before pushing herself off the ground and kneels in the water.

The boys watch, fixated as she brings her head down and splashes water in her face to wash off the remaining sand. Cupping her hands together, she runs the water from the ocean across her hair, the small pearls catching between each strand and causing it to turn smooth.

Makoto flushes when he sees the water run down her back, and turns to look away. He sees Haru, shamelessly staring at their friend and watching the water catch and dip at her collarbone.

Thankfully she still wore her swimsuit, so she was less likely to feel uncomfortable with splashing water across her body. Looking up, (Y/N) glares at her friends, who continued to watch as she got up and kicks a few pieces of sand towards them.

"Pervs."

Their faces turn scarlet as she walks away, and Nagisa quickly tries to yell out an excuse, any excuse that would get them out of trouble. "H-hey! We were just admiring your bod-!" He's cut off as Rei slams the palm of his hand against his mouth.

"That's not what we were doing!"

They all walk back to camp together, where they were happy to see Miss Amakata with bags of food and coolers.

"Hey! That's enough push for one day boys. Let's eat dinner while we can still do so with gorgeous sunset." The teens all gather around, their stomachs empty and ready to dig in.

"Alright! Tropical barbecue!" Nagisa yells excitedly, but stops when his teacher looks down into one of the bags.

She frowns. "Oh no, this is bad, I forgot to bring seasoning!" Nagisa pouts at the news.

(Y/N) stifles a laugh at her friend's numerous expressions, and pats his back. "Don't worry, I'll go down and borrow some from the lodge."

Gōu nods, and quickly hooks their arms together. "Fear not everyone! Your managers are on the case!" She ignores the way her friend sweatdrops, but shrugs nonetheless.

Quickly darting towards the lodge, (Y/N) grits her teeth. "Seriously..why couldn't you have walked on your own?" She bumps her shoulder into Gōu, who was currently relaxing against her friend's back.

"Because! I left my shoes at the beach and I can't walk on the hot floor!" Gesturing down to her foot, Gōu emphases her point by kicking her foot in the air.

(Y/N) rolls her eyes, and looks up as she sees the lodge's entrance. "Yeah yeah, just don't push me down this time-!" She's cut off when she almost run into someone exiting the doors, and looks up to see a familiar silver haired boy.

"Hey..I know you!" His eyes flash with familiarity. "You're Rin's sister!" He looks down, and smiles when he sees (Y/N). "You're the girl in that photo!" She tilts her head at the boy, but takes a step back when she sees the last person she wanted to see exit the lodge.

"Is everything okay?" He asks his teammate, and looks down to see his sister's face first.Gōu blinks once. "Hey big brother.." Rin's eyes widen when he sees her.

"Gōu!" Looking down, his mood shifts to nerves when he sees (Y/N), still holding his sister's on her back.

The two stare at each-other, their eyes slightly shining just a tad bit more when they scan each other's faces.

"You've got be kidding me.." they say at the same time, and Gōu nervously looks between the two of them, and slowly sinks her way off of her friend's back.

"It's not what you think.."

"Oh really? So Haru and the others aren't here then?"

"...uhm..yes." Gōu looks down at her lap as her brother stares disapprovingly at her. The two had opted for sitting on a nearby bench, while (Y/N) stood, her arms folded as she tried to tug the jersey she had around her downwards.

She was still in her costume, something that surprised Rin when he first caught sight of her.

"We're here for a training camp." She sighs, and turns her head to look at Rin. "We didn't know you'd be here." Rin stared at her, his chest tightening when he sees a small piece of hair fall into her eyes.

"..I don't get it, how can they be holding a training camp when we're using the pool?" He looks down at his sister.

"Where are they gonna swim?"

Gōu sheepishly turns her head. "The ocean.." her brother furrows his brows at this, and quickly looks up at (Y/N) for confirmation.

"And Makoto's actually okay with that?" Small flashes of his taller friend explaining why his fear of the ocean creeps into his head.

The old man that Makoto had grown so close to, how he gifted him a pair of identical goldfish to them die at sea during a storm.

It made him uneasy thinking he was willingly swimming in a place he hated so much. (Y/N) watches Rin with sympathy, and nods her head. He grits his teeth when he feels his cheeks heat up, and looks away.

"So..how's the training going? Are they completing their regimens?"

"Well, they only finished half of it today, but all things considered I think they're doing a good job!"

"What do you mean?"

(Y/N) watches as the siblings catch up with eachother, and grips her arms tightly when she continues to stare at Rin. 'His hair has gotten longer.' She notes, and shakes her head.

She watches as he clicks his tongue at his sister. "I really couldn't care less about the stupid swim team. I just want to beat him." He stands up, and (Y/N) scoffs. Looking back he raises his brow at her.

"What?"

She shrugs. "What 'what'?"

Rin squints his eyes at her. "What?" He groans when she shrugs once more, and waves his hand to dismiss her. He looks away when his sister giggles at their antics.

"Where are you guys staying?" He looks down at her, and she looks up at him in surprise.

"Oh, we're all at the lodge by the shore."

"Better let me walk you back then." He takes a step back when Gōu smiles brightly before jumping up from the bench and standing at his side. She looks back and grabs (Y/N) by the arm.

(Y/N) looks down when she sees Gōu wrap her arms around her waist, before pulling her along and making her stand between her and Rin. The girl inhales slowly, and walks in between the siblings.

Rin goes rigid when he feels how close she was, and clears his throat. "When did you two get so chummy?"

(Y/N) rolls her eyes. "I dunno, when did you get so annoying?" She flinches when she feels a small tap, and looks back to see Rin had flicked the back of her head. She looks up, and the two stare at each-other once more, their hearts beating faster with each breath.

Gōu's giggle turns their attention, and Rin squints his eyes, looking away with red cheeks. "What are you smiling for?" He puts his arm down, and ignores the way his and (Y/N)'s fingers brushed against each others.

"No reason!"

"Mackerel and fresh Atka!"

"Mackerel and fresh pineapple."

Both Nagisa and Haru present the group with their different interpretations of dishes, and they all backed away.

"Pineapples decent..but I tend to draw the line at eating it on pizza.." Miss Amakata gently turns their ideas down, and (Y/N) sticks out her tongue.

"Very unpleasant combination boys.." she sighs, and turns away to fetch a bottle of water from one of the coolers.

She looks down as Makoto reaches for one, and smiles gently at her. "You know.." he starts, and offers her the bottle before taking another one out for himself. "I'm really glad you came here with us." (Y/N) raises a brow, and brings the bottle to her lips.

"Whys that?" She asks, and her friend sighs.

"I miss you.."

He mumbles, and jerks back when she coughs out the water. "W-what I mean is! I miss having us all swim together!"  Gently patting her back, he tries to save himself from embarrassment. "As a team, you know?"

(Y/N) coughs once more, before settling down and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "Y-yeah..I think I do." Rubbing her warm cheeks, she looks up and watches Nagisa and Rej bicker between what to eat. She smiles gently.

Looking back to Makoto, (Y/N) brings her hand up and gently cups his cheek. The action makes him jump, but he welcomes it with a small smile.

"I'm really lucky to have you guys as my friends." Makoto's smile tightens as he listens, but he nods nonetheless, and takes her hand to walk back and join their friends for dinner.

The setting sun brings a warm feeling to (Y/N)'s chest, as she and the other woman of the group watch the boys bicker amongst each other of who would be sharing tents.

They try to decide with a small game, and Miss Amakata laughs before turning to the two girls. "What do you say we head back to the lodge ourselves?" She offers, and Gōu nods with a small yawn.

"Sounds like a good plan." She says through another yawn, and turns to her friend with a sheepish smile. (Y/N) looks to her with a raised brow, but sighs in defeat and bends down.

She picks her friend up and tucks her hands under her knees, and grumbles. "What is with you and piggy back rides today?" She shakes her head, but keeps quiet and begins to walk forward.

Feeling Gōu lean back, (Y/N) hums when she begins to speak. "I don't get it..why wouldn't Rin want to train with them?" The younger Matsuoka lays her head on her shoulder, and sighs.

The older of the two shrugs. "Your brother is a stubborn guy, doesn't like to be vulnerable with his feelings I guess." She yawns, and hums when Gōu gently taps her cheeks with her finger.

The young girl glances back, and smiles when she sees Makoto and Haru, both subtly glancing in their direction, but she knew who their eyes were strained on.

"You don't see the way he looks at you.." she mumbles, her eyelid fluttering from how heavy they began to feel. (Y/N) bites her lip. "Who?" She laughs, and waits a moment for an answer.

She glances up. "Gōu?" Lowering her voice, she listens to her friend's heavy breathing, and smiles before continuing her journey, a warm bed and blanket awaiting her.
