ROSALIE MONTGOMERY wanted one simple thing and that was a certain someone named Isaiah Jesus. She'd wanted him since she was ten years old and her twin, Mila had befriended his best friend, Finn Shelby. But for some reason, he didn't want her and she couldn't possibly fathom why! Was it because her father was in the IRA? Was it because her elder sister, Eli was (possibly, probably, presumably) shagging his boss, Thomas Shelby? Or was it because her mother was an absolute dickhead to him that day he'd seen them in the bakery? Whichever reason it was, Rose hadn't figured it out yet.

With being the prettiest popular girl in school, she wasn't short of other options. But the thing was she didn't want anyone else: Isaiah was the one she wanted and she'd be damned before she let him overlook her for some tart like Edna fucking Wilkes. She was the far better option if she might say so herself — which she has, many times in fact. Unfortunately, Isaiah just wasn't getting the message no matter how many times Finn just outright told him Rose fancied the arse off him.

When Michael Gray, the long lost son of Polly, visits the humble city of Small Heath and announces his intentions to stay, Rose thinks nothing of it. It's not like she had any plans of getting to know him — not after he got her name wrong. No one and she means absolutely no one, gets Rose bloody Montgomery's name wrong! 'Round here, she was a fucking (drama)queen and she'd no time for any boy whose name didn't rhyme with Messiah.

This was supposed to be a john fic then it changed to a finn fic then to a michael fic! It is connected with my other peaky blinders story, Someday but you don't have to read it to understand everything in this book. Although, I'd recommend you do for a little peek at Rose in season one! I also stated somewhere in Someday that the twins were ten at the start of season one but in this fic, I'm changing their ages to 15 in s1 and 17 by the time michael arrives in s2 (i'm too lazy to go through all the chapters and fix it now but I will at some point in the future).
