"this is disgusting."

"do you ever stop complaining about anything?"

"maybe if i wasn't completely surrounded by couples right now i would."

"i couldn't agree more, chris."

"shut the fuck up, nick."

"woah," nick puts his hands up in defense, scooting away from chris dramatically. "someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today."

it's been a few days since the group have all gotten back from LA and they've adjusted back to their normal school schedule now. they're all currently in their free period, sat in the very back of the library against bookshelves on the floor. it's their usual place they go to during this period and this time kingston and his girlfriend makayla have skipped their classes to chill with them as well.

"nah for real," kingston agrees, his girlfriend next to him laying her head on his shoulder as she mindlessly scrolls through tiktok. "remind me to never get on your bad side, bro."

venus sighs from where she's currently laying her head over ravens lap. "he's probably just mad because rory stole his boyfriend or whatever."

"no," chris immediately rolls his eyes. "i'm just sick of being surrounded by constant pda like... let's all chill please. plus, matt and rory are like a married couple now."

it's honestly completely true. ever since the LA trip, something must've happened because holy shit, it's like they're attached at the hip now. they still bicker constantly and still say they hate each other but now they're constantly giggling all the fucking time. they are genuinely two lovesick fools and every day it grows more and more obvious.

raven just shrugs, beginning to glance around for a second before furrowing her eyebrows. "where did they even go?"

five minutes ago, they were sat next to chris. aurora was trying to read twilight and matt kept sticking his hand over the book to get her attention. they whispered for like a full minute before randomly departing from the group.

"probably somewhere to make out," makayla speaks up, earning a small chuckle from her boyfriend as he leans his head down to rest against hers.

"they've come so far," kingston sighs dramatically.

"i hate couples so much," chris just shakes his head. he is tired. matt and aurora are absolutely sickening now and he just had to sit here overhearing their whispering for the past twenty minutes. "like it's nine in the morning."

"you'll understand someday, you loser," venus flips him off.

chris just rolls his eyes and raven sends him a grin. "hey, i'm sure you've got a girlfriend in some other universe, bud."

meanwhile, aurora and matt have moved to a different bookshelf a couple rows in front of the previous one. they're still quite far back in the library from where they are.

"no way you think jacob is better than edward," aurora stands across from him, practically gaping at him as he shrugs.

"he just seems better, i don't know," he says nonchalantly. aurora instantly grows offended and he has not a single clue what he's even talking about right now. he was just bored earlier and she was reading instead of talking to him so he asked her about the one thing he knows about the book: if she's team edward or jacob. she said edward so naturally, he disagreed. she immediately scoffed and began whisper-shouting at him and he was careless to the point that she grew immensely annoyed and pulled him away from the group to argue.

she's now sputtering out arguments to his statement but he can't even focus on what's coming out of her mouth. he's focusing on biting back the smile threatening the form on his lips because god, he loves the way her face scrunches up when she's angry.

"matt!" she exclaims, snapping him out of his slight trance as he blinks at her. "are you even listening to me, you dumb fuck?"

"yeah, yeah," he rolls his eyes. "go on."

she tilts her head at him, an irritated expression on her face for a few seconds before she sighs and continues, "i'm literally telling you, he was trying to take advantage of bella's vulnerable state! and then when-"

matt loses track of auroras words once again. he just can't help it. he instead focuses on the way her eyes squint just slightly, the way she moves her hands to emphasize her point, the way her eyebrows scrunch together, the way she quickly reaches toward to tuck her hair behind her ear when it falls out of place during her speaking, the way the dimples you never notice unless you're really paying attention to her peak through when she says certain words, the way the lip gloss he watched her apply in the car this morning is still as shiny as ever, the way- oh. she's not talking anymore.

he blinks repeatedly for a moment, now realizing her arms are crossed and her head is tilting.

"matt," she says. "can you stop looking at me like you wanna kiss me so i can stay focused on the argument please?"

matt's taken aback by the straight forwardness of the words but with a roll of his tongue, he recovers and takes a step forward towards her. she glances over him as he does so and he shrugs. "no."

she's silent for a few seconds, just staring up at him, before finally sighing. "why not?"

what a great question!

"because i wanna kiss you," he answers easily.

auroras not even surprised by the words. she could've easily guessed that by the way he had begun blatantly staring at her lips as she talked. "matt-"

"can i kiss you?" he cuts her off.

aurora blinks for a moment before tilting her head at him. "of course you can, you idiot," she tells him, throwing in an 'idiot' just to be safe.

he begins to smile at the words before auroras the one to grab ahold of the collar of his shirt and pull him down to her. he grins through the kiss, one of his hands coming to hold up the bottom of her chin.

it's a short kiss since they're obviously in school and both of the two literally make fun of couples that make out openly during class. it's still sweet though. it seems every single kiss they share is a different type of one and aurora absolutely loves it. she's sure matt could kiss her any way and she wouldn't even care. she just likes kissing him.

when they pull away though, she has to get some form of teasing out. "i'm not forgetting you're team jacob though, you're disgusting for that," she tells him pointedly.

he just rolls his eyes. "whatever you say, 'rora."

and that's another thing, he's began using that nickname for her again ever since it randomly slipped out during that night in LA. aurora definitely doesn't mind.

"mhm," she mumbles.

it's silent between them for a few moments, the pair just staring at one another like they seemingly always are. matt eventually speaks up with a random, "are you coming to the game tonight?"

"the lacrosse game?" aurora questions, furrowing her eyebrows at the sudden question.

"yeah," he answers.

"uh, i don't know," she responds. "i don't usually go to them."

"well, you have to go to this one," he tells her, her eyebrows instantly raising because of his sudden want for her there. she's never really gone to one of his games before. "you've gotta see us beat this private school, rory."

"hm," she says, trailing off for a moment to think. "do they still do the 'daddy's money' chants?"

the sudden question makes matt laugh a bit, aurora instantly grinning at the sight. "yes," he answers with an amused eye roll. "they still do those chants."

"alright then," she sighs. "i'll come."

matt tries to hide his happiness from the thought of her coming to his game but it's apparent from the way his eyes light up. "cool," he says nonchalantly.

"mhm," she hums, holding back a smile from how she can tell he's excited by it. "how am i gonna get there though?"

"oh uh..." matt suddenly pauses. he obviously has to get there early so he won't be able to give her a ride and her license is revoked so that's out of the question. "kingstons going so you can catch a ride with him," he eventually answers, remembering how kingston was talking about going a couple days ago.

"alright."
