"what if i get the lobster."

"chris..."

"what. why are you saying my name like that."

"if you get the lobster you're not even gonna eat it you're probably just gonna like.. play with it or something."

"okay fuck you, rory. i am not a little kid," chris tells the girl pointedly, her sitting across from him in the circular table they're all sat at. "i just think lobster looks funny."

"this is exactly why you shouldn't get the lobster," she sighs.

"fine!" he huffs, leaning back in his seat exasperatedly. "what are you gonna get then?"

she looks away from him when she answers, "chicken tenders."

"what!" nick immediately exclaims, everyone else having just been watching the two argue about lobster.

"we're at this fancy ass dinner place and you're getting chicken tenders? from the kid menu?" matt raises his eyebrows at the girl sitting next to him.

she instantly turns to him. "shut the fuck up, matt," he just rolls his eyes in response as she continues talking. "there is nothing wrong with ordering from the kids menu."

"but there's something wrong with me ordering lobster!" chris crosses his arms.

"there is nothing wrong with you ordering lobster, i'm just saying you should order something you actually like so you don't end up hungry later." she rolls her eyes at him.

they're all at this really fancy rooftop restaurant, the type where you're floors and floors above everyone else and one where you get a view of the city by walking over to the edges railing.

"you sound like our mom," chris laughs, nick sharing a smile with him because of how correct he is. "maybe i'll get the chicken tenders too."

"you're such a follower," aurora sighs dramatically, always amused from bickering with people like this.

"okay aurora," he rolls his eyes playfully, her grinning at him before her attention goes elsewhere as a waitress comes to their table.

the waitress goes around taking everyone's orders, rather politely as she speaks to everyone. her demeanor changes just slightly when she sets her eyes on matt though and aurora raises her eyebrows as she begins to stutter.

"oh and u-uh.. what about you?" she asks the boy nervously, blinking a couple times as if she's in some sort of awe from him. auroras genuine smile turns to a tight-lipped one as she hears chris whisper something about the girl definitely having a crush on matt to nick.

"oh, i'll just have the chicken alfredo." he sends her a polite grin. she nods quickly before looking down and writing his order down on her little notepad. aurora notices the red tint on her cheeks from his kindness and resists the urge to roll her eyes.

he's just being polite. no need to blush, fucking idiot.

once the girl has the order completely written down, she collects all the menus and begins to be on her way. her eyes linger on matt once more before she leaves and aurora is really starting to get annoyed.

"well," chris is the first to speak once she's left, chuckling as he glances at his brother. "that girl definitely just formed a little crush on you, matt."

"what?" matt furrows his eyebrows, oblivious to it.

"she was literally giggling," raven tells him, laughing a bit at his unknowingness of it all.

"really?" he raises his eyebrows.

really? aurora mocks him in her head, her face scrunching up at his stupid, stupid, stupid voice. shut the fuck up, you dumb fuck.

he glances over at her and for a second she thinks she said that out loud but after looking around the table that's started their own separate conversations, she realizes that no, she didn't. he's just looking at her.

"stop looking at me, you weirdo," she instantly tells him, sending him a look as she's extremely annoyed right now. she's not even annoyed at him. she's just annoyed at that stupid waitress that kept blushing like a dumb little school girl.

he just rolls his eyes in response before glancing down at the table then back at her, now with an amused quirk at the corner of his lips. "why are you holding the silverware so tightly, aurora?" he raises his eyebrows at her, her wanting to reach over and smack his head immediately because of his stupid smug voice.

she looks down to the table in front of her and widens her eyes once she finds her hand clutching onto the silverware wrapped with a fancy cloth rather tightly. she didn't even realize she was doing that.

she instantly drops it and scoffs once she sees matt giving her a full smug smile. "didn't even realize," she mutters.

"well, you seem rather annoyed," he states knowingly, tilting his head at her as she resists the urge to bash his head in. "why's that?"

she looks away from him and shakes her head slightly. "i hope you die the most painful death imaginable, matt."

"wow," he sighs sarcastically. "you're just so sweet."

about fifteen minutes later, the waitress comes back with the food. although aurora thinks the girl looks goofy as fuck, she still gives her a kind smile and a small 'thanks' when she hands her her food.

she gives matt his food with a bright smile and even brighter cheeks and aurora holds in a groan. as she stares at the flustered waitress, she reminds herself that she's just a waitress serving matt his food. aurora, however, is basically matt's so she can suck her dick.

she sighs, continuing to stare at the waitress as she lingers after serving everyone their food. she's not sure why the fuck she's still here! like.. come on, time to go.

when she sees her glance at matt nervously before reaching to pull something out of her pocket though, she leans forward in her seat. matt's not even focused on the girl anymore, expecting her to wander elsewhere as she's doing her job. auroras focused though. she's focused as she watches the girl pulls out a small prince of paper.

the waitress coughs and matt glances over at her, curious as to why she's still here. she hands the paper in her hand out to matt and his eyebrows raise, glancing at the small paper as everyone at the table is curious as well. "um," the waitress says quietly, her nerves clear from her voice. "here."

aurora leans over as matt slowly reaches to grab the paper from the girl. when aurora is close enough to read what's written on the small paper, she almost scoffs because there is seriously no fucking way.

before matt can grab the paper, aurora does. the waitress' eyes immediately widen as she looks over at the girl she wasn't paying attention to. "i'll take this." aurora sends the girl a sarcastic smile, annoyance clear in her voice as the waitress' cheeks are now burning with slight embarrassment.

"oh!" the waitress quickly says, glancing over at matt who's staring at aurora now before glancing back at her as well. "i'm so sorry. i didn't realize you guys were-"

"yeah well," aurora cuts the poor girl off. "you do now so." matt's eyebrows raise exceptionally as he continues staring at the girl next to him and leans back in his seat.

nick and ravens eyebrows both raise as well, sending each other a look as chris and venus are already sharing their own knowing looks.

"i'm so, so sorry," the waitress apologize once again before running off elsewhere. the girl seems genuinely apologetic but auroras just too ridiculously annoyed.

all eyes are on her once the girl leaves so she sighs. "anyways," she says, glancing down at the table to ignore matt's excruciating stare. "i've gotta use the bathroom so."

she gives the group a tight-lipped smile before standing up, the small note still in her hand, and walking off towards the bathrooms. right before she makes it inside, she notices a trash can. she walks over to it and glances at the note once more.

ugh, gross. she throws it away before walking off inside the bathrooms.

once she's done, she walks over to the edge of the roofs railing next to the bathrooms. she admires the view as she takes a breath of fresh air so she's not as annoyed once she returns.

"i wasn't gonna call her anyway, you idiot."

well.

aurora turns her head to find matt walking into the empty spot next to her. his head is tilted at her and she rolls her eyes. "i never said you were going to."

"okay," he just sighs, walking closer to the railing and resting his arms over it as aurora is still leant against the same railing, only turning her head at him and not her body. he steps closer to her side so she looks up at him again. "i'm just saying, i was gonna take the note to be nice and then throw it away later."

auroras first response is an 'i don't care' but she doesn't say that because it's a blatant lie and there's no point in lying to him anymore. she doesn't know what else to say though so she just looks away and sighs.

it's silent for a few seconds before she hears him laugh quietly and turns her head again to find him shaking his head to himself. "what's so funny?" she raises her eyebrows at him.

he glances at her before looking back at the view in front of them. "nothing."

she frowns, taking a step away from the railing and turning fully towards him. "what?"

he sighs, ultimately stepping away from the railing and towards her as well. he glances over her face before shrugging. "you're like really obviously jealous and it's pretty funny."

"what!" her jaw drops from the mere accusation, his stare just growing more amused as she quickly grows defensive. "no i'm not."

"you are."

"i'm not."

he tilts his head at her. "so you won't care if i find the girl and ask for her number anyways?" he challenges.

aurora scoffs, falling silent as she refuses to prove his point any further. that is the most stupid idea she has ever heard in her entire life.

matt's stare is a determined one and once she doesn't answer, he begins to turn around. aurora groans internally before instantly grabbing his wrist so he turns back around. "fine," she rolls her eyes. "i'm fucking jealous or whatever," she admits like an annoyed child.

matt faces her fully and grins. "well, that wasn't so hard, was it?"

"shut the fuck up." she crosses her arms.

he rolls his eyes and takes a step forward to be closer to her, her eyes quickly glancing over his features as he does so. "there's no need to be jealous," he tells her lightheartedly, her refusing the urge to roll her eyes from the teasing tone. "it's just you for me too," he grows more serious with the words.

aurora stares at him, unsure of what to say as her heart is beating pretty quickly in her chest. she settles for an unbothered shrug and a quiet, "good."

matt finds himself wanting to break the distance between them before he reminds himself that they're in a public place. he really wants to though so he turns his head and glances at the tables behind them. he finds raven, nick, chris, and venus all blatantly staring at them from their table quite a distance away. when matt catches them though, they all quickly cough and look away to try and act busy. he rolls his eyes and when he turns back to aurora, he grabs her hand and begins dragging her elsewhere.

aurora allows him to drag her and he doesn't stop until they're behind the bathrooms. aurora furrows her eyebrows, glancing around as she leans against the wall right behind her. "what?" she asks him once her eyes trail to him in front of her.

he runs a hand through his hair before stepping closer towards her. "i cant kiss you with the entire table watching us."

"oh," aurora says dumbly, clearly taken aback by his sudden words before gaining her composure. "yeah, i guess you can't," she agrees, staring up at him.

he stares back at her wordlessly before allowing his hand to fall on one of her hips. he brings his head down closer to hers and continues staring. "i asked before but i feel like i should ask ag-"

"no," she cuts him off, already knowing what he's gonna ask. she brings both her hands to rest over his cheeks and pulls his face close enough to hers where they're just inches apart. "i'm not gonna run away, you idiot."

so, he doesn't hesitate to bring his head down just that little distance closer and smash their lips together. aurora melts into the kiss easily, his hand that was on her hip sliding around to wrap around her waist completely. his other hand comes around to her upper back to pull her all the more closer to him.

when they break away for the first time, he pauses for a moment. "good," he whispers. "i hate when you run away."

aurora stares at him, almost in awe before being the one to quickly pull his lips back on hers this time. once his hand that was on her upper back slides off and instead comes to cup one of her cheeks, one of her hands fall from his face. the same hand reaches down to pull on his jacket so he's closer to her, her back now becoming pressed against the wall as she's the one pulling him towards her. he instantly notices how much more active in this kiss she is and can't help the grin that starts to form on his lips during it all.

aurora notices and breaks away from him. he immediately assumes she's just catching her breath so he quickly tries to reconnect their lips, failing and raising his head once aurora stops him. "are you smiling?" she tilts her head at him amusedly.

"what?" matt's face instantly falls. "no."

"oh my god," she gasps, beginning to grin as well as she's amused. "you totally are. you're smiling because of me!" she exclaims.

"shut up. no i'm not," he instantly defends, pressing his lips together for a second to hide the smile on his face as her playful grin doesn't even falter for a second. "i hate you so much."

she sighs and drops her hand that's still on his cheek and raises her hand that was holding onto the bottom of his jacket to instead grab ahold of the collar of his jacket loosely. "you know," her voice is a light one, staring at him teasingly. "there's a thin line between love and hate, matt."

he narrows his eyes at her, getting a clue of where the words are going. "are you trying to say i'm in love with you?"

"possibly," she shrugs easily.

he shakes his head, amused by it all. "i think i hate you even more for that."

"wouldn't want it any other way, bernard." she grins at him.

he rolls his eyes at the use of his middle name but doesn't bother with hiding the grin on his face as he leans down to kiss her once more.

sigh. kissing scenes are so awkward to write i just. if any of u ever feel it's too descriptive, just let me know so i can change it bc i never want it to come across as suggestive or anything like that

also to clear things up from last chapter, everything between aurora and chris is strictly platonic! u guys just know how matt is about aurora 😊

btw u guys are sooo worried about what could happen in la when what u should be worried about is what's gonna happen AFTER la 😣😣
