𝐗𝐕𝐈𝐈. june, 1995

Via hated when her birthday fell right in the middle of the week. Her favorite birthdays were when she turned 14 and her birthday was on a Sunday, or the year before that when it was on Friday. This year, it was on a Wednesday. Perfectly in between Sunday and Saturday. She hated Wednesdays, but this year was extra special.

Not only was she turning 17, which meant she was now officially of age, but she actually had Fred back. Not just as a friend, but as a boyfriend. They started officially dating about 2 weeks ago, but spent the week before that catching up on everything and getting on good terms again.

Via didn't have any plans for her 17th. Or at least she didn't think she did. She just wanted to spend it with some friends, maybe sneak a cake from the kitchens with Fred and George. That all went to shit when she walked into the Gryffindor common room and heard everyone yelling "surprise!" in unison. She looked up at the confetti falling on her, and smiled at everyone around her.

"Oh my god," she laughed. "You guys really didn't have to!"

"But we wanted to," she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist, and a head resting on her shoulder. She looked to the side and saw Fred, who gave her a smiley kiss on the cheek. "Happy birthday, Victoria."

"It was all Fred's idea," George smiled, walking up to Via. He pushed Fred's head off her shoulder, ripping his arms off her waist so he could give her a hug. Via laughed, wrapping her arms around George and pulling him in.

"Hey, what was that for?" Fred laughed.

"I don't care that Vi's your girlfriend, she's still my best friend," George said, his voice muffled as his face was in the crook of Via's neck.

"I love you George," Via smiled. "I love you too, Fred. Don't give me that look," she laughed at the shocked expression on her boyfriend's face.

She looked around and saw everyone in the common room. All of her friends were there. Fred, George, Alicia, Cedric, Katie, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, everyone. She even saw Angelina out of the corner of her eye, which made her do a double take. She walked up to her, confused as to why she was here. They weren't exactly on good terms at the moment.

"Happy birthday, Via," Angelina smiled nervously.

"Thank you," Via said, extremely confused.

"I know you're wondering why I'm here," Angelina started, before Via could question her presence. "I'm here because I wanted to apologize. For everything. I know an apology won't fix anything, but I just want you to know I'm sorry. For trying to keep Fred away from you, for telling him rumors about you, for everything. I was just insecure and jealous of how close you were. I'm sorry Via, I really am. I totally understand if you don't accept this apology, and I don't expect forgiveness, but-"

"I forgive you," Via interrupted her.

"What?"

"You heard me," Via said with a smile.

"Really?"

"Mhm! I'm not mad anymore," Via smiled sweetly at Angelina. It was true. She wasn't mad at her at all anymore. She was happy now, and was done living in the past.

"Thank you so much," Angelina laughed happily, and Via pulled her into a hug. "I'm happy for you and Fred, by the way. You two were made for each other. It's always been obvious."

"Thank you, Angie," Via smiled, shocked at herself for calling her Angie but also not caring.

"Angie?!" Angelina laughed.

"Yup! I'm calling you that from now on, by the way," Via smiled at her as they broke apart from the hug.

"Fine with me," Angelina laughed. Via went back to where everyone else was, smiling at all her friends.

"Thank you guys so much for this. I'm not going to do a huge inspirational thank you speech, by the way, so don't expect one," she laughed with everyone. "But I do really want cake so let's just skip everything that comes before that and jump right to it."

Via looked at Fred, a confused look in her eyes as he pulled her aside from the party and into a corner.

"What's up Freddie?"

"I wanted to give you my present in private. Y'know, away from everyone else," Fred smiled.

"Fred, you know you don't have to get me anything," Via insisted.

"Don't care," he smiled. Via rolled her eyes playfully as he pulled a small box out of his back pocket and handed it to her. "Open it." She opened the box and found a small piece of candy in a pink and orange wrapper.

"What is it?"

"It's a new candy I've been working on for the past couple months. It's for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, but it's dedicated to you," he smiled proudly.

"What does it do?"

"It's a temporary love spell. For a full hour, it'll make you feel the exact type of love I feel for you on the first person  you lay your eyes on."

"No way," Via laughed. "How did you do that?"

"It took a lot of work, but after lots of testing, I can confirm that this little caramel perfectly replicates my ever growing love for you," he smiled down at her, and she giggled.

"Oh my god. Thank you so much, Fred," she smiled, leaning up to kiss him.

"Mmm," he hummed, breaking apart from the kiss. "Is that chapstick?"

"Mhm," Via nodded, laughing.

"I like it," Fred reached into the back pocket of her jeans and pulled out a small tube of chapstick. It was in blue and purple packaging, and the label said THE GALAXY'S EDGE. "The galaxy's edge? What type of flavor is that?"

"The flavor is actually mixed berries, that's just the name of it," Via laughed. "Also when I wear it, it makes my lips like the galaxy's edge. Y'know, like that Arctic Monkeys song."

"Oh my god Victoria," Fred laughed, shaking his head. He put some of the chapstick on his own lips and then Victoria's, putting the chapstick in his pocket afterwards. He leaned down to kiss her again, tasting the galaxy's edge on her lips.

"Delicious," Fred smiled, making Via giggle into the kiss. "I love you Victoria."

"I love you too, Fred."
